Chapter Text
Looking down on the humans, the anger being contained began to escape the Scarab as he reminded them of what they had done. “All the worlds you’ve visited,” the words escaping in a threatening hiss, “all the people you’ve infected” sounding more and more aggravated as he approached the group, “your little trip must have shown you the truth!” He said, now towering over the humans. “It would be better for everyone if you were just gone.”
All the humans coward in his shadow but cake decided she had had enough as she takes the crystal Fionna had been guarding. She fumbles with the unfamiliar device managing to open it up to what looked like a collection of strange eggs. Trying to act fast before the Scarab has time to attack, she throws the eggs at him.
The multitude of eggs shatter on the hard pavement and leak the contents they were holding. What emerged from the eggs were the cosmic entities the Scarab had previously encapsulated. As soon as the Scarab realized what was happening it was already too late. He was immediately attacked from all directions by the many beings who had been trapped by him. The pent up hatred they all felt for the Scarab fueled their violent attacks.
Limbs being grabbed and pulled in different directions, joints straining to stay in one piece, carapace being crushed under the force, he could see no easy way to escape this hell. As he struggled to escape, one last egg was thrown which surrounded them all in a thick layer of dirt. The Scarab used this sudden turn of events to his advantage as he dug through the coarse soil and began to grasp the upper hand. He tunneled out of the mass of bodies now being crushed beneath the weight of the dirt surrounding them. Making sure the entities wouldn’t cause him any more unwanted trouble, he ended all of their pathetic lives and continued to tunnel his way out.
When he had finally emerged from the mass, which turned out to be a sentient island, the anger he felt had skyrocketed. The sunlight was reflecting off of his now blood stained exoskeleton. He jumped down to the ground and continued to attack the group of mortals which possessed the crystal.
As he advanced, he was surrounded by the feeble beings. This was nothing more than an inconvenience compared to the fight he’d just triumph in. Easily swatting them off, he proceeded towards the crystal.
Finally retrieving the crystal from the insufferable mortals, “If I can’t extract this place whole,” he spat, now climbed up a near by building, “I’ll rip it out piece by piece!” His tone turned from anger to absolute hatred and hostility as he proceeded to destroy everything in sight.
Everyone on the streets had started to completely lose hope as their homes and buildings were being erased by the Scarab. Right when he feels he’s finally won, the magic cat decided to continue fighting this seemingly hopeless battle. Morphing into a giant lizard like creature, she started to frantically stomp at him.
Initially able to dodge the desperate attempt to smash him into the ground, he was soon caught off guard and was slammed into a nearby building. Smashing through a brick wall, it felt as if time had slowed down while he heard his hard shell crack under the pressure. His soft internal organs being compressed and pulverized as his carapace folded and bent out of shape.
Running on adrenaline, he quickly got up from the rubble. His body mangled and twisted in unnatural positions. The large cat-lizard grabs him from the wreckage before he has time to attack and quickly throws him against another building. This time, the damage to his exoskeleton has started to set in and the mutilation done to him sent waves of throbbing pain through his body.
Frustrated, the Scarab tries another strategy of attack. Turning into a more insect like form, he gains the legs of a grasshopper. He’d hoped that this would allow him to launch himself into the giant cat, neutralizing her. Jumping into the cat with the force of a cannon, he landed a lethal blow to the lizard. She shrank back to her usual size and fell to the ground.
Now that Cake was incapacitated, one of the human came forward to help stop the Scarab, but his attempts were short lived seeing as all he managed to do was throw a couple cookies at him which briefly stopped him from destroying the town. He hissed at the human, opening his cracked mask revealing his bug like mandibles and teeth. Another one stepped up and started playing a guitar. This did nothing but annoy the Scarab. The scarab quickly retaliated by kicking a nearby ice cream cart at the duo, knocking them back and slamming them into a wall.
The fight was finally in his favor, despite the fact that he was basically falling apart. Shell fractured, scraped and misshapen. Flesh mangled and torn. Organs turned to sludge, slowly regenerated with his battered form. It was a miracle he was still standing but he wasn’t going to let these facts stop him from destroying this world.
