Work Text:
Izukus heart pounds as he reads carefully over the paper gently held in his hand. He can hardly breathe as a giddy happiness squeezes his heart.
He’d come into their room, having gotten home early from patrol, to grab a set of clothes for after his shower. As he made his way to his side of the shared dresser he noticed a slightly rumpled paper sitting on top. Not one to snoop he would have left it alone chalking it up to a case note or something his partner had left behind.
But the paper, stylishly died in All Mights signature colors caught his attention. Pausing in his search for clothes Izuku picked up the paper and gasped at the words written down. It had taken him by such surprise he had to read it again. Twice. Before the giddy happy feeling hugged his heart.
Words that, had it not been for Izuku’s familiarity with the handwriting, he wouldn’t have believed they came from the man himself. Because these were words he’s never heard before. Beautiful warmth scrawled on the paper spelling out a brilliant love and utter devotion.
Saying things like “Your smile warms me as if I was standing directly in sunshine on the nicest summer day”. Some of the words were a little more jagged, as though his partner couldn’t quite understand the amount of love he had trapped inside him.
It wasn’t a perfect letter. But it was beautiful. And Izuku couldnt believe that, Katsuki, his boyfriend of almost 4 years and childhood friend before that, would write something so emotionally charged.
Just for him.
Izuku has to gently set the paper down so he doesn’t accidentally crush it as he covers his face. He’s smiling so wide it almost hurts and his heart is so full!
‘Oh my god!’ He thinks to himself as he peeks through his fingers to read the letter once more. This time noticing that some words had been erased and replaced while others seemed to have very small notes such as ‘reword’ or ‘this sounds fucking stupid’ written above them.
‘So this is a draft?’ He thinks to himself. Then it clicks. If this isn’t a final product does that mean Kacchan is making him a gift? He is receiving an award for his work with children and helping them build self confidence and interpersonal skills and the date of the party happens to land just before their 4 year anniversary.
Eyes widening Izuku hurriedly makes sure the letter is placed back exactly as he found it. Excitement bubbles up inside him and he doesn’t want Kacchan to get upset he ruined his gift.
Quickly Izuku snags some clothes and races to the shower practically shaking with glee. The entire shower he hums happily to himself and when Katsuki pokes his head into the bathroom to greet him Izuku does his best to cool his happiness but he can tell the blonde thinks he’s being weird from the stink eye he got when he shouted a little too loudly and excitedly back.
That’s okay though. He giggles silently to himself as the blonde snorts good naturedly and shakes his head and leaves the bathroom closing the door behind him. Several minutes later when Izuku is squeaky clean he peeks into their bedroom and notices the letter is gone.
He smiles as a pan clanks loudly from the kitchen and decides he really missed his boyfriend today and he should definitely bother him while he’s cooking dinner. Katsuki wouldn’t mind anyway no matter how much he pretends to grump about it.
Izukus good mood continues up until a few days after their anniversary. They’d had a wonderful time together and had taken a few days to themselves to go on a small hiking trip to a lovely onsen. It was private and allowed them plenty of time to relax and enjoy each others company without the worry of getting called away in an emergency or their friends and family dropping in on them.
They both loved the life of being pro Heros but at the same time it can be a little overwhelming and they can go days just missing each other or getting a passing kiss as one arrives home only for the other to be heading out for work.
All throughout the award ceremony and the days that followed Izuku waited patiently for Katsuki to present him with the letter or a revised version of it. But as they arrived home from their mini vacation he still haven’t received it. They’d gotten each other gifts and overall both men were satisfied with their time together.
But Izuku couldn’t help but feel just the smallest amount of disappointment he hadn’t gotten the letter. On the night before he returns to work he sighs to himself and decides that it doesn’t really matter. He’d gotten to read it even when he wasn’t supposed be to and that’s more than enough.
Satisfied Izuku smiles and gets ready for bed and a night full of being snuggled in close to a walking furnace. And he giggles like a love sick idiot when Kacchan bites him on the cheek, practically squeezes him until his ribs pop, and rolls on top of him like a weighted attack blanket. The blonde mumbles incoherently about “Fuckin’ don’t wanna share. My nerd. Stop smiling at damn extras. S’my smile you piece of adorable shit” and so on.
Izuku sighs happily and contently as Katsuki’s hold gentles and they kiss lazily before falling asleep. The letter far from his mind.
Or maybe he lied…
He can’t help this nagging in the back of his mind that maybe something was off. Because he’d searched their home and couldn’t find hide nor hair of the letter anywhere. And while the blonde had written it why wouldn’t he give it to Izuku? Was he having second thoughts?
Izuku bites his lip and curses his over thinking. He trusts Katsuki with his life and his heart and he trusts the blonde would tell him flat out of something was wrong. But…why?
“Honestly?” Ochako questions watching him curiously as she reaches her arms above her head as they do their pre patrol stretches.
Izuku nods grunting lightly while going into a deep stretch.
The brown haired woman shrugs a little. “Maybe he chickened out? You know how hard anything remotely emotional is for him, even with as mushy as he is with you.”
“You think so?” Izuku asks frowning as he rotates into another stretch. “After all this time?”
Ochako huff a little laugh. “I mean yeah, he might have come a long way but the guy still struggles to say anything overly sweet without it sounding like a threat. Not that that’s a bad thing, you’re obviously into that.”
Izuku flushes a little at that and mulls over her words. In hindsight it does make sense. Katsuki isn’t exactly mushy with words. He’s definitely a man of action leaving most of the spoken endearments to Izuku. Which as Ochako mentioned he’s perfectly fine with and hasn’t ever been an issue since he KNOWS Katsuki deeply and the blonde knows him just as well.
He feels silly for even questioning it.
“You’re right,” He nods with finality.
“Of course I am!” Ochako smiles as she finishes up her routine. “Now let’s go kick some big bad butt!”
Izuku grins at her enthusiasm and nods. “Mhm!”
A few days later the green haired man hums happily to himself as he comes home from the store. He’s in an extra good mood because he has a few hours with the blonde before the other man has to start his afternoon patrol and Izuku will take every second of the time he’s granted with him.
Quickly he puts the groceries away because he can hear the shower running and Izuku plans on joining his boyfriend, not wanting him to finish up before he can. As he races to their room and strips his shirt off he notices a familiar paper on top of the blondes side of the bed.
His heart stutters and he pauses before silently heading over to take a peek. Biting his lip Izuku gingerly picks up the paper and his breathe catches as he realizes it’s not the same note from before. It’s a different one.
As he scans the words quickly his heart pounds at the almost somber tone weaved into such loving and heartfelt words. Almost like Katsuki is struggling and frustrated. If Izuku didn’t know any better he’d think Katsuki was overwhelmed by his own complete and utter devotion.
A loud crash startles Izuku and he physically has to stop himself from crushing the paper in his hand as white hot guilt rushes over him. Glancing at the bathroom door he’s thankful that the shower still seems to be running and he relaxes as Katsuki’s cursing at a bottle that seemingly fell, filters into the room.
Gently Izuku sets the letter down. His heart feels like it’s trying to pound out of his chest and he has to take a few breaths to control himself.
“Okay…just…let it be Izuku. He will give it to you when he’s ready…just keep cool,” he reminds himself and slaps his cheeks a few times to regain his focus.
He has a gorgeous naked boyfriend to annoy. No distractions! Quickly Izuku rushes to finished disrobing and he laughs gleefully as Katsuki snarls playful at him and calls him a pervert while holding on to his own naked chest as though to hide his plush pecs from Izukus heated gaze, never mind that his dick is hanging out uncovered.
Several days later Izuku feels like he’s put the letters behind him. He knows Ochako is right and he also knows that maybe he wasn’t meant to see those drafts just yet. So he keeps the secret safely in his chest and goes on about his life.
It’s going amazingly well until one afternoon as Izuku comes back from patrol.
A little bit tired but in a good mood, Izuku, on his way to the locker room spies his boyfriend in the lounge/resting area talking to one of their sidekicks. The guy has been with them for about 6 months now and has primarily been on Katsuki’s shifts.
Smiling Izuku changes direction and is about to call out to the blonde when he freezes as a familiar looking paper passes almost sneakily from Katsuki into the sidekicks hands. Frowning and slowing to a stop Izuku watches as the sidekick looks over the paper, squeals brightly, and lunges at Katsuki slinging his around the blondes neck. His stomach clenches as Katsuki doesn’t immediately remove the man’s arms from around him and instead seems to pat him on the back and smirk fondly.
As the sidekick pulls back they stand close together and the man kisses the paper excitedly and smiles brightly up at Izukus boyfriend with pure happiness sparkling in his eyes. He can’t hear what their saying but he can tell by their body language that they are both very comfortable with one another and Izuku can’t stop looking at the way the sidekick is gazing dreamily at Katsuki. Who, is smirking right back.
He feels sick.
Just what the hell is he seeing?
Shaking his head Izuku backs away quietly and tries to gather his thoughts while trying desperately not to start crying. Feeling overwhelmed Izuku makes his way to the roof and slides down the door to sit once it’s closed behind him.
There’s no way right?
It had been the same All Might themed paper, that he was sure of based on the coloring of it. And technically thinking back on it neither of those letters had called anyone out by name. Nor had they had any specific descriptions of who Katsuki was thinking of.
Katsuki wouldn’t cheat on him. That much Izuku has always been sure of. But what the hell was that display downstairs? And…what about the letters? The ones HE never received?
Tears tumble down his cheeks and Izuku buries his face into his hands.
What is he supposed to think?
Shakily and trying to to gag from the nausea he feels Izuku fumbles his phone from his pocket and dials Ochako.
——————
“I….that’s really strange,” Ochako comments sipping on her tea.
Izuku nods feeling numb and taps his finger on his own cup unthinkingly. His cheeks are red and raw from all the tears he’d wiped away.
He’d quickly made his way to her house not even stopping in the locker room to shower or text Katsuki where he was going. Izuku’s mind was a mess and as soon as he stumbled into the front door of his friend’s apartment he’d broken down. Through confused rambles he’d explained everything to her.
Ochako had soothed him gently and hugged him through it all until he’d calmed down enough for them to sit and talk over tea.
“Do you….” She starts gently unsure how to finish her sentence but Izuku get it.
He shakes his head no. “I don’t think he would ‘chako. I….I mean for a moment I guess I started to wonder. It all doesn’t add up,” he pauses and then snorts. “Well it does add up if he was cheating….fuck that sounds gross mixing him and that word together.”
Silently Ochako regards him, he can feel her stare as he begins to anxiously tap his foot on the ground.
“Well I think you’re right. You guys are too obsessed with each other to have room for anyone else.”
Izuku makes a ‘hmm’ sound in response. “I just don’t get it. And I can’t stop picturing their little…” he swallows thickly tears starting to resurface. “Moment,” Comes out bitterly.
Ochako shifts in her seat. “That’s understandable, you just watched your boyfriend secretly hand someone something with the same paper he wrote those love letters on and then what? Allowed him to hug him which…it’s not out of left field but at the same time Bakugou doesn’t really let people besides a few of us that close.”
Izuku shrugs. “It’s not even just that. Katsuki was smiling at him. And he was,” rubbing his eyes Izuku aighs. “I don’t know. He just looked really really ecstatic. He freaking squealed when he read whatever was on that damn paper.”
The green haired man hates this. He’s never not trusted the blonde before. He’s always trusted him and the relationship they fought hard together for.
“This is stupid,” he deadpans looking up at Ochako. She raises her eyebrow at him curiously.
“Kacchan wouldn’t cheat. That much I know. I just don’t know what the hell that was and I hate questioning him like this.”
Brown eyes watch him as he stands and begins to pace her kitchen.
“It hurt. Whatever it was it hurt not to know and I don’t like that there’s now this mystery here. I don’t like thinking he’s hiding something….but…am I a bad person for thinking the worst as soon as I saw them together like that? Everything just fit!” He pulls at his green hair and hiccups a little hating himself for how conflicted he feels.
“Izuku no! Of course not. You have every right to feel the way you do. I agree, we don’t need to jump to conclusions but it’s natural to feel upset about this. It’s honestly suspicious and had it been anyone else well…look,” she stands and gently stops him from pacing. “He has always only ever had eyes for you. And if worst comes to worst he won’t survive the next day I can tell you that.”
Izuku sniffs and nods. “I gotta talk to him eventually,” he declares. “I can’t go on jumping to assumptions like this. It…it makes me so sick and I don’t want to feel negative about us, him, like this.”
Ochako smiles and rubs his shoulders reassuringly. “I think that’s a good idea. Do you wanna stay over tonight and then talk to him tomorrow?”
“Yeah if you don’t mind,” Katsuki won’t be home until tomorrow morning anyway and Izuku doesn’t want to spend the night alone in their house feeling like this. “I’d appreciate it.”
“Of course I don’t mind, we can order some pizza and put on some trash tv until we fall asleep.”
Izuku sighs and relaxes a little. “Yeah, that…that sounds good.”
Squeezing his arms one more time Ochako takes a step back. “How about I call for pizza and you go clean up, you can wear some of my loose sweats.”
“Thanks ‘Chako.”
“No problem,” she smiles once more while grabbing her phone. “Just make sure to text Blondie where you are. You know how he is when hasn’t heard from you,” Ochako pointedly glances down at her phone and shows him the screen showing Katsuki’s contact name and 5 texts and 2 voicemails.
“Right…I will….” Izuku swallows and feels that ugly pinch in his stomach again.
“You don’t have to say much, just tell him you’re spending the night here and you’ll see him at home tomorrow.”
Nodding Izuku makes his way to the bathroom and does just that after tearing up at all the missed texts from his worried boyfriend and several calls. Drafting and redrafting the message several times he finally hits send. He jumps at the immediate response he gets back.
Kacchan: Took you long enough dork, you didn’t wait for me after you got off >:(
Kacchan: Tell Cheeks hi for me
Kacchan: Wasn’t the same without seeing your dork ass today
Kacchan: Have fun nerd
All came in quick succession and Izukus heart simultaneously squeezed with love and pain. He silenced his phone and went about cleaning up.
Ochako didn’t comment on how long it took him nor the fact that they both knew her walls were thin and she could definitely hear him crying in the shower.
——————
The next morning Izuku gets home first on purpose. As much as he wanted to he wasn’t able to sleep last night. He kept rolling everything over and over in his head until he decided none of this was fair to Katsuki.
At no point in their relationship, since it took a turn for the better in high school, has the blonde ever made him feel like he’d hurt Izuku this way. And he trusts Katsuki with all his heart.
So while the idea of Katsuki cheating on him hurts to high hell and back he isn’t going to sit around and let that thought fester and sour his heart towards his boyfriend. Instead, he’s made up his mind that he MUST talk to Katsuki about it and discuss it immediately instead of waiting.
Izuku knows Katsuki will be tired after work and probably not in the worlds best mood for this kind of discussion but it just can’t wait. Not something like this.
He changes into his house clothes and warms up some tea so it’s ready and waiting both for comfort and because he hopes it will help sooth the blonde after a long night on patrol. Nights have always been the worse to work.
The front door unlatches loudly and Izuku tenses as he listens to his boyfriend shuffle in the entry way, shoes removed and his coat hung up. He holds his breath as he hears the blonde enter the kitchen quietly.
“You’re home.”
Izuku notes the rough edge of exhaustion in Katsuki’s deep voice. He takes a deep shaky breath before grabbing both tea cups and turning around. Tired but warm crimson eyes meet his and Izuku notes the fond look on Katsuki’s face that drops the minute he notices something is off with Izuku.
The blonde frowns and takes a few steps forward until he’s looking down into Izuku’s sad green eyes. “What’s wrong?” He implores an edge of worry to his voice as he tentatively places his hands on top of each of Izukus around the warm cups.
“I…” Izukus throat clicks as he swallows nervously. “Can we talk?”
Katsuki looks at him with a mixture of confusion and worry before slowly nodding. Izuku nods back and looks down at his hands still covered by the blondes work warn but warm hands. He pushes one of the cups slightly forward.
“Here, I made you one,” he almost quietly mumbles.
Katsuki slowly pulls back and gently takes the cup from him. “Thanks nerd.”
Izukus heart squeezes at the nickname now used to it being a term of endearment. Without looking up he signals for them to sit at the table.
The shorter man sits first and takes a deep sip of his tea. Drawing up his courage he directs his gaze determinedly at Katsuki who watches him cautiously from the chair across from him.
“So,” Izuku starts. He licks his lips and sighs feeling a mixture of nausea and anticipation bubbling up inside him.
“So?” Katsuki prompts after a few moments of silence.
Clearing his throat Izuku tries again. “I wanted to talk to you about something serious. Something that, I didn’t want to fester.”
Katsuki nods in understand and tiredly gives him his full attention which Izuku appreciates how seriously he’s being taken.
“A few weeks ago I found a letter on our dresser,” Izuku watches at Katsuki seems to stiffen at his words and recognition appears on his face. “Normally I try not to look through your stuff but I noticed it was dyed in All Mights colors and…well I got curious.”
Izuku goes on to explain that he thought the letter was private and maybe was a gift so he’d set it back down and went about their day. Then he tells Katsuki how he was slightly disappointed to see it never popped up again which was fine, until he saw the second letter. Izuku then explained he decided to just leave it be and figured if they were meant for him to read them that Katsuki would hand them to him when he was ready.
All the while he carefully watches the blondes reaction which to be honest wasn’t much. Katsuki’s face was carefully masked and he listened intently until Izuku mentioned the events of yesterday. The blondes eyes widened as understanding seemed to fill his eyes and his mouth slightly fell open.
Izuku, finally not able to keep eye contact looks down at his lukewarm tea. “I don’t think you’d do anything bad Kacchan, I just want to understand and tell you where I was coming from. Because it just wasn’t falling into place for me why they were so happy to get their own note from you. I mean, he squealed with such delight and happiness I just….I don’t know. And I know you, I know you wouldn’t cheat on me but I was so confused and I didn’t know how to feel. I mean look at it from my perspective, these letters written to some unknown person and I never see them but then that same paper is sneakily given to someone else who is overjoyed and I trust you with every fiber of my being but I was just so-“
“Stop.”
The shorter man freezes mid tangent at the pained demand. Glancing up he see’s Katsuki sitting with his head in his hands and his body is shaking, or actually his leg is bouncing anxiously under the table forcing his body to move with it.
Izuku holds his breath and his heart pounds as he waits for the blonde to say something or do anything. It’s agonizing because he doesn’t know what’s happening or what’s going to happen. He’s beginning to wonder if he should have just kept quiet when Katsuki shifts and slams his hand down on the table making Izuku jump.
Pained crimson eyes bore into his as Katsuki looks up at him before looking away. The blonde leans back in his chair and scrubs his hands over his face. Hard.
“Oh my fucking god,” is said very fast and very muffled into Katsukis large hands.
“K-Kacchan?” Izuku calls out nervously.
Katsuki slowly drags his hands down from his face and Izuku sucks in a sharp breath as he takes in the devastation on his boyfriends face.
“‘Zuku,” Katsuki’s voice sounds broken and strained as he leans forward and reaches for Izuku’s hands. Immediately Izuku reaching out to him and Katsuki grips his hands tightly and desperately. “I’m so sorry…this is all my fault.”
Izuku frowns. “What do you mean?” He asks quietly.
“I fucking…shit,” Katsuki lets his head fall down before taking a deep breathe. When he looks back up he has a determined expression on his face and he squeezes Izuku’s hands. “This is a shitty misunderstanding and I’m sorry. It’s all my fault and I don’t want you to feel bad about it okay? I can’t even…fuck I can’t even imagine how hurt you were and I’m sorry it came to that. Can I explain?”
Blinking tears from his eyes Izuku squeezes Katsuki’s hands back. For someone who doesn’t waste time on words it seems Izuku’s actually going to get quite a few of them today. “Please.”
Nodding in understanding Katsuki swallows thickly before letting go of Izuku’s hands. He stands up and nods towards their bedroom with his shoulders slumped. “Come with me. I gotta show you something.”
Sniffling Izuku stands and follows the blonde as he’s led to their bedroom.
“Sit,” Katsuki gestures to the bed and waits until Izuku is settled before he sighs and runs a hand through his blonde hair. “About a year or so after we started dating I had a really long talk with my therapist,” he explains slowly starting to pace in front of their walk in closet. “I’d been struggling with a few things and she gave me this idea to help me work through it.“
Izuku watches as Katsuki pauses while clenching his fists together at his sides, struggles internally, and then seems to gather himself. The taller man stalks into their closet and pulls a large shoe box down from underneath another shoe box from the top most shelf.
Katsuki gently holds the box and looks at it. Izuku notices the blondes large hands squeezing and releasing the box as though he’s nervous.
“Kacchan?”
Snapping out of his daze Katsuki shrugs and clears his throat. Their eyes lock as the taller man makes his way to stand in front of Izuku.
“This,” Katsuki jiggles the box. “Is the coping mechanism we came up with,” Izuku notes Katsuki’s hands are shaking slightly as he hands over the box. The blonde sighs as Izuku gingerly holds on to it in his lap not opening it just yet although he’s super curious about where this is going.
“I was, am still sometimes, struggling with my feelings for you,” that makes Izuku jolt and he locks eyes with his boyfriend. “She suggested that I write down all the mushy gross shit I was thinking about but couldn’t fucking say to you…”
Izuku’s heart pounds and his eyes widen in realization.
“Thought it was dumb as fuck at first. And embarrassing. But if it helped then what the fuck ever. So I started puttin all the shit I’ve been wanting to tell you on paper. The end goal was to give it to you. But I couldn’t muster up the balls to do it and here we fucking are.“
Warm hands cover Izuku’s cheeks as Katsuki’s thumbs rub gently over his skin. “The sidekick? He wanted the recipe for my spicy curry because his partners fought over it from the time I brought it in for the potluck we had at work. He’d taken some home and they practically chewed each others arms off fighting for it so he begged me for the recipe. I didn’t want anyone knowing I’d given it to him because fuck giving people my shit and then thinking I’m ‘nice’,” Katsuki grumbles while wiping away the tears starting to dribble down Izukus cheeks. “I’m sorry Izuku, I promise it wasn’t what you thought. You can check the letters are in there,” he softly says nodding to the box in Izukus hands.
“Kacchan!” Izuku, tears freely falling from his face sets the box to the side and stumbles into the blonde. He wraps his arms around the taller man and buries his face into his chest.
“Oi-“ Katsuki grunts with confusion and catches him and holds on to him.
“I’m so sorry! Kacchan I’m-“
“Hey, no no none of that. I fucked up here,” Katsuki cuts him off and wraps his around Izuku holding him close. “I should have showed you earlier, it was only a matter of time before you found ‘em eventually anyway even though I know you don’t snoop through my shit. This was a fucked up way of it though…guess I got complacent with putting the letters away,” Katsuki sniffles, tears of his own starting to blossom.
They hold each other for sometime before they finally calm down. Izuku reaches up and wipes the tears that had fallen from his boyfriends face and smiles. “I’m still sorry Kacchan. I should have asked you about the letters a long time ago. I trust you, you know? I will always trust you. I just let my over thinking get to me.”
The blonde shakes his head and mumbles. “Not your fault,” He leans forward and nudges Izukus nose with his. “Kiss?”
Izuku giggles and leans the rest of the way up so their lips can meet in a much needed and soothing kiss.
As they pull away Katsuki quickly dives in for one more kiss before mumbling gently against Izukus lips. “Love you.”
Izuku’s heart stutters and he stands up on his tippy toes to capture Katsuki’s soft lips once more. “I love you too Kacchan.”
“Good,” Katsuki sighs. He leans his head back and looks over Izuku with probably the softest look the shorter man has ever seen from him. “You gonna take a look or what?” He asks nodding to the forgotten shoe box.
Glancing behind him Izuku considers it for a moment. “Kacchan, those are yours and I don’t want to force you into sharing when you aren’t read-“
Katsuki cuts him off with another kiss, the handsome jerk. “It’s fine. I’m ready, I’ve been ready. Just haven’t…well I wasn’t sure how to go about it. And this whole…thing has made me realize I don’t want shit like that to happen again. I’d rather you have peace of mind.”
Izuku’s heart clenches at that and he hugs Katsuki tightly. “I have peace of mind because I trust you Kacchan. I don’t have to read them right now, I DO want to. But not in some way to seek extra trust in you.”
Katsuki sags against him. “You sure?”
“Mhm,” Izuku nuzzles against him. “Keep it down so we can look through it later but right now I just want you to smother me before we take a nap.”
He feels Katsuki snort and Izuku snuggles into the blondes chest pressing his ear close as his boyfriend lets out a deep chuckle. He shivers as Katsuki leans down and whispers close to his other ear. “I can do that,” and then almost tentatively, “baby”.
A full body flush rushes through Izuku at the nickname he’s never heard before and he grips Katsuki tighter. “I like that,” he admits curling further into the blondes plush chest.
“Yeah?” Katsuki asks sounding almost nervous.
Instead of answering Izuku pulls Katsuki towards him and they both fall back onto the bed.
——————
Several hours later after many many kisses and Izuku indeed getting smothered before, during, and after their nap, they sit on the bed with Izuku in Katsuki’s lap. The box is opened and Izuku begins to go through each letter all the while having Katsuki literally read them out loud to him in his ear making the experience 1000x better than he could have imagined.
