Summary
There can be only one King who commands these wild and untamed lands of this forgotten colony planet. On top of the one he's fighting against the usurper Scourge, Lord Predaking sees no reason to participate in an outsider's war of the newly landed outlanders calling themselves the Decepticons. But offer him a mate in return for his brethren to fight? Predaking is willing to consider.

(During the Exodus and Retribution novels, the Autobots and Decepticons land on the abandoned jungle planet colony of Animatros. For self-centered and political reasons, Megatron arranges for Starscream, without his permission mind him, to be sparkbonded to their new tentative ally, Lord Predaking, who wants a contingency mate. He accepts. But exceptions must be met first for Starscream’s welfare to survive.)
