Trini coughed on the ground. Her body was in pain, throbbing. Her vision was blurry, her helmet cracked. She looked over to see Jason and Zack fighting against Tommy. Kimberly was shooting her arrows at Rita, and Billy was on the ground, trying to catch his breath.
Trini pushed herself up, knowing she couldn’t stay down. She got to her feet, her body begging her stay down. She stumbled, before grabbing her daggers. She charged at Rita, catching the woman. Rita stumbled, blood on her cheek from where the dagger made contact.
“Are you okay?” Kimberly asked, putting her hand on Trini’s arm.
“Yeah, peachy,” she responded, moving to help Billy to his feet.
Rita used her index and middle fingers to wipe the blood from her cheek, before sticking them into her mouth. She smiled, her eyes on the Yellow Ranger.
Trini shuddered involuntarily.
“Fuck,” Zack muttered from the ground. Jason and Tommy’s swords clashed.
Trini turned to Kimberly. “I’m going to help him.”
Kimberly grabbed Trini’s arm before she could leave. “Be careful.”
The Yellow Ranger gave her a nod. “You too.”
She ran and kicked Tommy’s back. The Green Ranger stumbled and turned. He let out a chuckle. “You think you can beat me? You’re the weakest of all.”
Trini gripped her daggers, feeling the sting of the words. Jason moved to stand next to her.
“We got this.”
Jason was looking out to the field, the football players playing.
“Why do you do this to yourself?” Trini asked, sitting down next to him.
Jason stayed looking out into the field. “It reminds me of the life I used to have.”
“Do you regret it?”
The Red Ranger turned to Trini. “Not for a second.”
The younger ranger gave him a nod. The two charged forward, Jason going high and Trini went low. Tommy was able to kick Trini away, but Jason’s sword slammed against his head. Tommy stumbled backwards, and Trini moved around him and kicked the back of his leg. Tommy fell to his knees.
“This is not you Tommy,” Jason said, hoping the green ranger would give up.
Tommy laughed, slashing his sword against Jason’s chest. He turned and grabbed Trini’s neck. The yellow ranger dropped her daggers to grab his hands. He raised her off the ground, before slamming her against it.
Trini groaned when she hit the ground.
“No fair,” Trini complained, watching as Kimberly ate the last bit of the donut.
Kimberly beamed at her. “You’re jealous I’m taller.”
The Yellow Ranger glared at the other girl. “We said height was off-limits. I can’t control how much I grow.”
Kimberly just laughed. She leaned down and gave Trini a kiss. Trini leaned into it, her own eyes closing. “I love you.”
Trini just beamed.
Tommy placed his knee on Trini’s chest and raised his fist. “You will perish by my hand.”
Trini could feel the blood in her mouth. She laughed. “Perish, you take villain classes?”
She didn’t need to see it, but she felt his anger when his fist slammed into her helmet. She felt her head rattle. Her vision doubled, and for a second, she forgot where she was.
“Fuck, that’s all you have?” Trini asked, knowing the reaction it was going to get out of the Green ranger.
Tommy let out an angry scream, raising his arm. Before he could break it down, he was tackled off of her. Jason and Zack had knocked him off of her. Trini turned her body so she was laying on her stomach, before pushing herself up. She looked over to see Billy slam his staff against Rita’s, while Kimberly used her bow. Trini got to her feet, wondering how Rita and Tommy were able to hold the five off.
Rita slammed her staff to the ground, causing the Blue and Pink rangers to fly away. Trini felt the force, but was able to stay on her feet.
“Enough,” she shouted, raising her staff and blasting Zack and Jason off of Tommy.
Trini was the only one standing, her eyes on the current and former green rangers.
“Little Yellow, the only one standing,” Rita teased, a grin on her face. “I remember you.”
Tommy stepped towards her, and Trini looked at her team. Jason was getting to his feet. Zack was laying on the ground. Billy was on his feet, helping Kimberly up. She turned back to the green ranger, who’s helmet disappeared. Trini willed hers to leave.
Trini sat on the train, Zack laying next to her. He was looking up at the sky, at the stars. Trini just looked at the city, the two just enjoying the silence and the company.
Tommy swung at Trini, who was short enough to evade. The two threw fists, clipping each other. One punch hit Trini right in the cheek, and another hit Tommy’s eye. The two swung, before Tommy ducked down and grabbed sand, throwing it into her eyes. Trini’s eyes closed, as she rubbed them. Tommy used the time to swipe her feet from under her and she hit the ground. He was quick to straddle her waist, raising his fist. He brought it down, and Trini felt her head snap to the side.
“Harder,” Rita said, her staff aimed at the other rangers.
Tommy used more force, and Trini lost consciousness for a second. When she came to, she could hear Kimberly screaming for her.
“Hit her harder!” Rita demanded, and Tommy did as she said.
Billy was working on his project, while Trini looked at her own textbook next to him. She read the math problem, before writing down the answer in her notebook. She looked over, to see Billy squinted at some connections, before grinning. She watched as he turned on the machine, and it started to whirl to life. He looked at her, and she just smiled.
Trini coughed, grinning up at the Green Ranger. “That’s all you have? All that power, and you can’t even kill me?”
Tommy glared down at her. He raised his fist.
“C’mon Thomas, do it,” Trini tried to bait him. He glared down at her, his fist trembling. “You’re the bad guy. Do what bad guys do.”
He brought his fist down, slamming it against the ground next to her head. He glared down at her, his eyes watering.
“Kill her!” Rita shouted, and Trini could see the green flash in Tommy’s eyes. He raised his fist.
Trini didn’t say anything, She just looked up at him. She watched as he lowered his first, only to grab his dragon dagger. He raised it up, and Trini could just watch. Before he could bring it down, he was hit in the chest.
Kimberly shot another arrow, hitting him in the chest. She stood in front of Trini, protecting her. Jason, Billy, and Zack stood next to Kimberly. Rita glared at them. Tommy stood up and moved to stand next to her.
Rita slammed her staff to the ground, and the two vanished.
The four rangers let down their guard, before turning to Trini. Kimberly dropped to her knees next to her. “You are a fucking idiot,” Kimberly snapped, placing her hands on Trini’s face. The Yellow Ranger hissed at the pain. She leaned away.
“Why would you do that?” Jason asked, shaking his head.
Trini looked up at him. “We can save him. We have to get through to him.”
“It wouldn’t be worth losing you,” Billy said, his eyes on the yellow ranger.
Trini gave him a smile. “You guys aren’t losing me. Not anytime soon. Together.”
Zack rolled his eyes, looking at his other teammates. “We are more,” they said, and Trini grinned, before letting herself drop into Kimberly’s arms.
“We are more.”
