Minamoto pressed against Suishinshi’s back, arms hanging over his shoulders and hands clasped. He pressed his face into his fluffy black hair.
“Kiyomaro,” Suishinshi whined, in a very cute ‘I’m not whining’ way, “I can’t focus with you doing that.”
“Really?” Minamoto smirked. He moved from his hair down to his ear, breathing on it to make him shiver delightfully. Then he carefully shifted the collar of Suishinshi’s jacket down so he could press his lips to his neck.
A surprised squeak. As though he hadn’t expected that move even though Minamoto had done it multiple times before.
“I need to do this,” Suishinshi gasped.
They had papers they had to fill out about the Citadel’s progress for the Government. They weren’t pressing, it could wait. Or simply just send them a message of ‘more observation needed’ that would work well enough.
To Minamoto this was more important.
If he could get Suishinshi to stop working then he could press him against the table and…
“Minamoto-niichan!”
Minamoto halted his advance, lifting his head from Suishinshi’s neck as the door to his room was slid open and Urashima Kotetsu stood there.
They had a conversation before about how Minamoto was not his brother. Apparently, him being Nagasone’s maybe-real brother led Urashima to decide that as he was his brother’s brother then that made him his brother also. Such logic wasn’t lost on Minamoto and he wasn’t overly fussed about it. Usually that was fine, he didn’t mind, he didn’t care that Nagasone would rather be a Kotetsu, it didn’t affect him either way. When the little brother bothered him during his quiet time with Suishinshi he minded a bit more.
Most in the Citadel just found this entire situation amusing. Not Hachisuka Kotetsu. He hated that Urahshima saw Nagasone as a brother and was decidedly unimpressed with his newfound decision to draw Minamoto into their family.
“Urashima Kotetsu,” Minamoto greeted pleasantly. More so than he felt.
Urashima grinned brightly. “We’re going to the beach! You should come too!”
Aforementioned ‘we’ were most likely his older brothers.
“I’m afraid I would not be very welcome,” Minamoto said, “so I will have to decline.” He slumped heavily against Suishinshi who squeaked at the extra weight, nearly buckling at the pressure.
With a pout Urashima entered the room, bowing to him. “Please come, Minamoto-niichan! Hachisuka-niichan will behave if I ask him to. It’ll get you used to one another. I just want you all to get along.”
That wasn’t as appealing an idea as Urashima seemed to think it was. At all.
Still…
“Could Suishinshi come?” Minamoto asked slyly. He felt Suishinshi stiffen under him. That made it even more fun.
“Yes!” Urashima clapped his hands together.
Making Suishinshi uncomfortable was always amusing. It would also get him to cling to him more later, which was a fantastic bonus.
“When is it?” Minamoto asked with a smile.
“As soon as everyone’s ready,” Urahshima was practically bouncing, “we’re going to be meeting out front.”
“Very well, we’ll get ready then.”
With that Urashima left, seemingly thrilled that whatever plan he was concocting was working how he wanted it to.
“Kiyomaro,” Suishinshi said, voice wavering slightly, “are you sure this is wise? Hachisuka has not been the most comfortable with the situation as of late.”
“That’s why I want you come with me, Suishinshi,” Minamoto said. Instead of leaning against Suishinshi he used his grip around him to pull him back against his chest instead. Like that he could peer down at him from his kneeling position. Big green eyes blinked up at him curiously. “You can be my backup.”
“Why did you agree at all?” Suishinshi asked.
It would be amusing, besides he knew that Urashima wouldn’t let it go until he agreed and it was just easier to get it over with quickly. Besides, when it all went badly that should remind Urashima what a bad idea trying to get them all together was and it would be a good while before he tried it again.
Instead of saying that Minamoto hummed.
“Well, it would make Urashima happy, I suppose.”
“You’re so kind,” Suishinshi muttered.
He wasn’t. He really wasn’t.
Smiling he bowed his head to press a quite uncomfortable upside-down kiss to Suishinshi’s lips. He laughed afterwards.

“You didn’t need to come,” Nagasone said stiffly.
They had just reached the ocean and similar things along those lines had been said to him by both of the older brothers multiple times. It was nice to know when he wasn’t wanted. Suishinshi had tried to sweetly defend him from Hachisuka one time but that was ultimately useless.
“Urashima was most insistent that I join in with brother-bonding-time.” Minamoto tipped his head to the side, looking Nagasone over.
“Why is Suishinshi here?” Nagasone sighed, looking over at where Suishinshi was being hauled around by Urashima into the surf.
Seemingly Urashima had taken umbridge to the amount of layers and how covered up Suishinshi was even at the beach. A full body wetsuit, his usual high collared jacket, trainers and a parasol. It was adorable how covered he was. Just from seeing that Minamoto was pleased he had agreed to come. If he could pull down his collar and kiss him on the beach it would make the whole thing worth it.
“He’s my support,” Minamoto said, “so I don’t get lonely whilst you all do brother things.” He smirked over at Nagasone. “He is also my defender when Hachisuka finally snaps completely.”
“Somehow I doubt you need a defender,” Nagasone muttered.
“I appreciate how highly you think of me.” Minamoto looked up at him in amusement before heading out to rescue to Suishinshi from being thrown into the water. There was a groan behind him as he left.
-
“Hachisuka-niichan you can be on Nagasone-niichan’s team!” Urashima declared. “Minamoto-niichan is with me. Suishinshi you can referee!”
Beach volleyball could very easily go very wrong.
At least Hachisuka couldn’t aim balls at Nagasone’s head with these teams. That was probably intentional, and he wouldn’t hit it too hard for fear of hurting his little brother. There was still the potential of terrible teamwork. That was highly likely. Pretty much a guarantee.
Minamoto pressed a kiss to Suishinshi’s cheek as they parted.
“Are you already trying to get the referee on your side?” Nagasone teased.
“Possibly,” Minamoto shrugged with a carefree smile. “Though I don’t know how much bribery is needed.”
“I am an impartial judge!” Suishinshi tried to declare forcefully, it was adorable.
“Let’s just get this over with,” Hachisuka huffed.
“Hachisuka-niichan, that’s not the spirit!” Urashima whined.
“I apologise, Urashima. Let’s play, shall we?”
It started like a normal game. If a normal game featured one team working relatively well together and the other having one member try to trip the other at every turn whilst the other kept hogging the ball. Both ended up face first in the sand multiple times.
A wonderful game to watch.
Though Suishinshi didn’t seem to think so as he kept calling fouls against members of the same team and getting more distressed as they lost points.
They ended up having five matches because Urashima continuously tried to encourage them to act as a team and forcing them to play was apparently a grand idea to him. To Minamoto it was definitely worth it. Being on the winning team helped a lot with his amusement.
When they gave up he was ready to sit with Suishinshi in the shade. Which he did. The brothers were trying to reassure Urashima that it was all fun and games. He wasn’t having it and making them beg for forgiveness. They took him to the ocean to swim with them as an apology. That gave Minamoto a chance to cuddle with Suishinshi in peace. The beach was very nice for that, it seemed to calm Suishinshi when they were alone on the sand.
All too soon the Kotetsu’s were back and with it was forced kind-of-brother-bonding-time.
Next on the agenda was apparently sand castle building. Urashima wanted a different form of bonding, no more competitions that could end poorly. No, this time the goal was co-operation. He wanted one giant sandcastle that they all built together. Again, a terrible idea. Suishinshi tried to beg off of that one but was manhandled by Urashima over to where he wanted to build it and told to make the surrounding walls.
“Go to your own side,” Hachisuka hissed, nudging Nagasone out of his way.
“This is my side,” Nagasone argued.
Technically it was no one’s side. They were just told to work on a castle, apart from the reluctant Suishinshi no one was given a specific job to do or where to work. That had been the first mistake, actually getting them to do an activity together had been the first. Maybe the castle was a third or fourth. It was hard to tell with terrible ideas what order mistakes were made in.
“Why don’t you go join your actual brother?” Hachisuka whispered.
Nagasone rolled his eyes.
“Minamoto-niichan, is our brother too,” Urashima scolded Hachisuka who looked as though he had bitten into a particularly sour lemon. That was a most interesting face.
“He is not a Kotetsu and neither is the forgery,” Hachisuka huffed.
That got sad looks and scolding.
Predictable.
“I wish there was something that could be done about this,” Suishinshi muttered. “I feel so sorry for them.”
Minamoto hummed, looking over at Suishinshi who had abandoned his wall. His eyes were sad as well.
Honestly, Minamoto was quite done now. Besides, if he begged off on the fact that he wasn’t their real brother then Suishinshi might feel sorry for him and he could get away with more later.
He got up, going over to Hachisuka to crouch at his side.
“Kiyomaro,” Hachisuka said stiffly, “have you come to invade my space too?”
“No,” Minamoto shrugged, “Suishinshi and I are leaving. We apologise for upsetting you, I simply wanted to make Urashima happy and see how you brothers interact.” True in a way. Not as kind as how he said it though. “As for Nagasone, I see him as a Kotetsu, as he wishes to be. You two can keep him.”
“No, you can!” Hachisuka said, almost urgently.
Minamoto smiled. “Honestly,” he patted Hachisuka’s shoulder, “he is yours.”
Then he got up, going over to Suishinshi grabbing his hand to lead him away. He was so light it was too easy to pull him around.
“Bye,” Minamoto waved to the Kotetsu’s leaving with Suishinshi stumbling behind him. He grabbed the parasol on the way so Suishinshi could go back to failing at hiding.
When they reached the Citadel Suishinshi was strolling at his side. It was a calming walk.
“Kiyomaro,” he said softly, “do you really not see Nagasone as your brother?”
Minamoto hummed in thought. “I suppose not. How he sees himself is the most important. He can be whoever he wants to be.”
“And you do not want to be a part of them for him?” Suishinshi asked.
With a content smile Minamoto looked over at him. “Why would I need that when I have you? Suishinshi is the only companionship I will ever need.”
A blush was just visible before Suishinshi hid himself in his collar. Minamoto couldn’t help but laugh fondly. He was so easy!
“Cute,” Minamoto laughed.
He had to swiftly duck the parasol aimed for his head.
