Oh, the Track That’s About to Rip

Summary:

Amongst many criminals, six of them were wrongly imprisoned for crimes they never commited. They refused to be treated like something they were not, and if derailing a train was how they got their freedom, then so be it.

Work Text:

Sunlight shone through the bars of the train car, casting oddly shaped shadows along the walls. The rattling of the car on the tracks was the only thing keeping its occupants awake. But, unlike the others, six of the prisoners were not going to lay down and take this kind of punishment. They were ready to fight, and if it meant derailing the train, so be it. A loud crash startled the passengers, and a guard kicked down the back door of the train car, yelling for them to face the walls with their hands behind their backs.

However, it was clear that the criminals were in no mood to listen. They swiftly tackled the guard to the ground, and even managed to grab the guards nightstick. "Guys, look!!" One of the rebellious six prisoners, Seungmin whispered to his bandmates, pointing at a set of silver keys that hung off the guards belt. "Grab it Seungmin!! It's our only way off this stupid train! We have to get to the control panel up in the front, I bet they've got our instruments there!" Another one of the group, Gunil, urged as Seungmin bent down and snatched the keys.

Turning to the other criminals, Jiseok yelled to keep the guards distracted. Luckily, the only people the prisoners would listen to happened to be their fellow criminals, so they were more than happy to follow Jiseok's request. Running to the door, Seungmin's heart thudded with adrenaline as he shoved the keys into the lock, twisting it and yanking open the sliding door that lead to the next car.

Jooyeon, the last through the door, tossed the keys back to Seungmin as he slammed it shut behind him, and the oreo haired keyboardist caught the silver objects with ease. Turning to the car, the group of six saw five more guards inside, each one looking a bit confused, but their expressions quickly shifted to anger and they rushed at the boys with their nightsticks out.

"Get them!! We outnumber them six to five, c'mon guys!! This is our only hope of escape, so we can't waste it!" Shouted Jungsu, throwing a quick right hook towards one of the guards. Hyeongjun cursed loudly in pain as a guard struck him in the side with his nightstick, slamming against the wall. Struggling to regain his footing, the guard took advantage of this and grabbed Hyeongjun's wrist. A small cracking noise was heard as Seungmin slammed his fist into the guards face, causing him to stumble backwards and fall to the ground.

Seungmin had a bloody nose and his bottom lip was bruising quickly and ugly, but he helped Hyeongjun stand and regain his balance once more. "I've got you, I'll watch your back. Stick by me Hyeongjun, I don't want you getting yourself hurt." Seungmin mumbled in a gentle voice, before grabbing Hyeongjun's hand and pulling him towards the door to this train car. "Guys!! Let's go, these guards can't do much to us anymore! We have one more car left until we're at the front!!" Hyeongjun managed to shout as he clutched onto the wall while Seungmin fumbled with the lock.

Before long, they'd all gathered in the next train car, only to be met with more guards. It was less than last time, but it frustrated the six of them nonetheless. "Alright you scumbags, come at me! You think we didn't learn how to fight during our time in that prison before we broke out? You'd be very fucking wrong for that assumption then!!" Jooyeon challenged, cracking his knuckles and running at two guards with a twisted grin on his face.

Twirling a stolen nightstick in his hands, Gunil was easily able to knock a few guards unconscious. This fight was easier than the last, but they now had one car left. This time, Seungmin handed the keys to Jiseok, and he unlocked the door, sliding it open. They were all tense as they entered, but to their pleasant surprise, no guards waited inside. Instead, there were large shapes hidden by tarps, as well as a control panel for the train in the front of the car.

Jiseok was the first to grab a corner of a tarp, pulling it off. He gasped, seeing the sleek white plastic of his electric guitar and the deep red detailing. Noticing this, Hyeongjun pulled off the cloth closest to him, his face morphing into a wide smile when he saw his own guitar. Seungmin let out an excited squeal as he found his synthesizer, his fingers skimming the keys. "My beautiful baby, I won't let anyone seperate you from me again. I promise." Seungmin whispered to the instrument, using his sleeve to wipe off a few fingerprint smudges on the keyboard.

Gunil smiled widely, grabbing his drumsticks and spinning them with a joyful laugh. "Oh how nice it is to have these back! I thought I'd never see them again!!" He exclaimed happily. A rift note sounded through the stale air of the train car, followed by a happy laugh from Jooyeon. "Ha, I'm back baby!!" He cried out, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiled brightly. Jungsu sighed as his fingers brushed the smooth keys of his keyboard, and he cracked his knuckles before playing a few cords with practiced perfection.

"Alright guys, someone needs to help me here. I've never had to drive a train, and if we want to get these instruments off here easily, I say we find a way to disconnect this train car from the rest!" Gunil called out, setting down his drumsticks. Seungmin ran back to the door, peeking out and looking for the coupler that connected the car to the others. He soon spotted it, but he would need help removing it, so he called over Jungsu to help him.

Meanwhile, the others went to help Gunil drive the train and to come up with a plan of where they could go from here. A loud metal screeching sound soon was heard, and through the door, sparks flew from the train tracks. "Alright, now we need to get off these tracks! Everyone except Gunil, grab your instrument and hold tight!!! Jooyeon, Hyeongjun, Jiseok, can you also hold onto Gunil's drums? Those are going to be heavy, and they'd be the most likely things to get damaged while trying to get this train off the tracks!!" Seungmin instructed, holding on tightly to his synthesizer.

Gunil grit his teeth, jerking the lever hard and causing the train to turn so suddenly that nothing but the sparks from the tracks could be seen and the sharp metal squealing could be heard. Moments later, the train tipped and fell onto the grassy plains around, and each of the members tumbled out, blacking out as they hit the grass, their injuries steadily dripping dark red blood onto the fresh green grass under their exausted bodies.

Notes:

A.N: Let me clarify!! They are not dead at the end, they passed out from how tired they all were after having to fight the guards and such. I did not really know how to end this, and the BTB music video didn't really offer a lot of help for what happened in the end.

Regardless, I hope you guys enjoyed and STREAM BREAK THE BRAKE!!!!
