"Talk about aging gracefully"
She kept hearing his voice over and over again repeating in her head. She still cannot fathom how an earthrealmer like him has all the confidence in the world as he made his moves on her. Apparently on earth he has quite the following, which made her deeply confused. Earthrealmers are entertained by such drivel?
Johnny recommended a movie to her and she feels as if she can"t judge without actually seeing it. He asked if he could take her to the movies, but she politely declined. What if she doesn"t enjoy the movie and then just has to sit there waiting for it to be over? She can already imagine Johnny looking over at her with hopeful eyes, wondering if she"s enjoying the movie. No, she wants to watch this movie by herself and take her time. Tanya baked some wonderful goods for her and she accepts them with grace. She fiddles with the tv remote, still astounded by the amazing technology of earthrealm. As Johnny stated, earth is so far ahead with its technology because they don"t have magic... she can"t imagine what that"s like. She carefully inserts the dvd into the slot and waits patiently. It"s silly, but she feels herself getting a bit nervous. This is going to be something she has never experienced before.
She feels tears streaming down her face, which she wipes away in an embarrassed manner. "This is fictional", she mutters to herself, "so why are you crying about something that isn"t real?" And yet.. she just can"t help it. It feels so real, and she"s gotten so connected to the characters. "I can"t believe Johnny indirectly made me cry", she says to herself with a giggle. Even though Kitana considers herself to be very in touch with her own emotions, she has never thought she would cry to a movie, a made up story. Now she kind of understands why actors are special, they make you feel things even though it"s all fake. She can"t say that to Johnny though, she"s certain that would just make him more stuck up. She rolls her eyes as she imagines the kind of things he"d say to that. "Oh, you think I"m special?"
“You were right! Seeing a film is a transcendent experience!” The moment those words leave her lips, she immediately regrets them. Johnny gives her a cocky smirk and says: "Hollywood magic for the win." Kitana can"t help but laugh, seeing how self-satisfied he looks. "I had a feeling you were gonna like this one, I picked a classic. But now that I know you have impeccable taste, are you sure you don"t still want to go on that movie date with me?" Kitana gives him a shocked look. "Earthrealmer, are you saying that the last time you invited me to go to the movies with you, you were asking me out on a date?" "I thought that was obvious, your highness. How could I pass up on an opportunity like that?" Once again Kitana is utterly swayed by his misplaced confidence. "I cannot believe there are earthrealm women who find you irresistible. You can"t possibly think coming on this strong is the right move? I barely know anything about you!" Her offended look didn"t scare Johnny at all, to the contrary, he seemed excited every time she pushed back. "Ya see babe, that"s what the date is for, to get to know eachother." Kitana lets out an exasperated gasp and says: "You know what? I"m going back on what I said earlier, I actually think I know more than enough about you. You are an arrogant man who thinks he can do whatever he wants because he"s famous! And to think I was starting to warm up to you." That caught Johnnys attention, and he seemed to actually show a bit of regret. "I"m sorry princess, I just like a woman who is hard to get." Kitana rolls her eyes at him. "There is nothing to "get", Johnny. I am simply not interested." Cage gives her a smile that feels a bit more genuine than usual. "If you say so, your highness."
Finally feeling like Johnny isn"t trampling all over her boundaries anymore, her tone softens. "I would like to go and watch a movie with you, but it would NOT be a date. It"s just exciting to share an experience like this, that is all." Suddenly he looks a bit nervous, as if he didn"t expect to get this far. "I know just the movie you"d like."
