"you're useless and pathetic, not worth me even calling your name-"
a voice spoke, with such hatred and emotions that were hard to deciper, hard to even attempt to look at.
but the person being spoken to could tell.
he was filled with shame just being near.
alexis ness, the 'magician', the heart of bastard munchen wondered, what did he ever do wrong? who did he wrong for his life to be so miserable-
he could feel the harsh words, insults tugging at his heart strings. he bit back the tears that were threatening to fall out, to show how vulnerable he was..
he couldn't even bring himself to glance at the person he devoted himself to, the person who constantly berated him and took their feelings out on him, the first person who had once showed him kindness and brought light to his dark, lonely and cold world.
"you're not even fun to play with anymore, yeah, have you seen yoichi? he's so selfish and I want to crush his ego so badly .. and he's harder to break and control unlike you."
"can't even appreciate my efforts spent on you."
ness swore he heard his heart crack when he heard those words. was michael really choosing that.. boring, worthless, plain-looking bastard over him?
was he.. so useless and boring?
no, no, no, it couldn't be true right? KAISER loved him, right? he wasn't getting sick and tired of ness, right?
well all of this had a start, of course.
-start flashback-
a metalic looking light blondie, with eyes the shade of a magenta you could stare into them for hours, child sat on the park bench while sniffling..
people walked past either thought he was annoying or pitiful. but noone tried to help, even the other children
alexis sniffled softer, he could see people glaring at him.. his sensitive heart stung while thinking of how lonely he felt.
he could beg for his mother to stay at home but she always didn't listen. he wanted attention, needed just a little bit of attention and affection but she rarely was at home.. her presence was like a 'once in a blue moon' type of thing.
"hey, you!" alexis looked up to see another boy who had blonde hair unlike his shade of blonde.. he looked around to see who that boy was calling to.
"No, you silly- i'm talking to you so stop looking around!.."
"Why are you so sulky? Come here! Let's play football!"
The other blonde spoke excitedly, Ness felt his whole world light up..
"I-I don't know how to play.." He accidentally spilled, immediately regretting his decision but he was ever ready for the other to just walk away after that.
"It's fine, I'll teach you!~" *The other replied.*
-end flashback-
alexis ness let the water run down his body. he stared at the shower taps without a word. his heart ached so badly, he wanted to apolgise to kaiser for even existing but he decided to just stay away from the other.
ness thought and thought before frowning, it was all because that little shit- isagi yoichi-
he felt a lump in his throat, coughing it out instantly. thats when he saw.
blue rose petals? and some blood?
what was going on? alexis was terrified and quickly finished up his shower. he had washed the rose petal off from any blood so he could further inspect it.
he shoved it into his pocket before walking back towards the dorms quietly and swiftly.
noone would talk to him anyway out of games. after all he was kaiser's boytoy, a dog.
the thought of kaiser made him cough again and he had to speed up to the dorms.
ness reached the room and went to his bed. he whipped out his phone and googled,
" what the hell does it mean if i cough out petals and blood? "
the boy secretly hoped that it was nothing and he just ate a rose petal on accident without ever knowing of it..
all the results were about some disease. the hanahaki disease.
ness immediately tapped on the first result and silently read.
'A victim contracts the HanaHaki disease by experiencing unrequited love.'
What? Is it about Kaiser? was alexis' first thought before he began to scroll again.
'There are 3 stages. The first stage is where the victim coughs out the flower petals and blood.'
ness was at the first stage, thinking that it was still early and he could prevent it easily.
'The second stage was when the flower petals bloom and turn into full buds.'
'The third stage was when the flowers and blood eventually fill up the victim's lungs and block off the airways, suffocating the victim.'
alexis widened his eyes. he could die? he quickly scrolled to find out the cure or how he could prevent it but his heart dropped even further.
'There are two ways to cure HanaHaki. First is to go through surgery, the victim's feelings and memories of the person they loved will disappear.
The second is through confessing their love, if the recipient accepts their love, the Hanahaki disease will disappear.'
Alexis felt horible. He didn't want to die from rejection yet he didn't want to lose his only hope in love.
'If the victim were to stay silent and not seek help or take action. Stage 3 will kill them.'
As much as he didn't want to die, he couldn't face reality, he couldn't accept being rejected. He couldn't lose the memories and love he held for Kaiser.
And that was his course of action.
- Gradually a few days turned into weeks.
Alexis Ness kept up his usual demeanor, he didn't act up or anything but Kaiser still stayed away from him. However he still passed the ball towards Kaiser, but nowadays he kept zoning out.
Everyday was a tough battle againist the HanaHaki disease and a tough battle againist anyone finding out about it.
His health constantly got worse, small breaks between long periods of time turned into long breaks between short periods of time as much as he tried to hide it.
Ness knew he was getting paler, skinnier and less like himself.
He could feel the worried stares that were from people that was definitely not Kaiser's. As if the other would give a shit about him.
While in the middle of a match, Ness felt like shit. He tried his best to prevent the petals from coming out but there was little he could do.
The midfielder's vision gradually grew blurry as he tried to focus on the game but the urge to cough was taking over. He coulfn't breathe.
Ness repeatedly told himself to hold it in.
THUD!
Alexis Ness fell to the ground on his knees, coughing violently. He tried to stop , why wont this stupid disease go away? He couldnt let everyone see, no ,no ,no.. why was this happening to him?!
He eventually coughed out a blue rose bud.
Everyone stared in horror.
Blood spattered all over the artificial grass and all over Ness' hands.
He could hear people shouting. He didn't really remember their names, the only name in his mind was Kaiser Michael.
- Kaiser stayed rooted in his position, he didn't really care until he saw the commotion.
"Alexis?" He had muttered out, horrified.
-- after all the commotion, ness was told to stay at his dorm room and was given two options. to get the surgery or to tell the person he loved so dearly.
they wanted to give him a therapist but allowed him to have some time to think on his own first.
"alexis. i'm coming in."
ness blinked a few times, he thought he was hallucinating for a few seconds when he saw kaiser walk into his room.
"mi- kaiser?"
"you have hanahaki. who?"
you could hear a small, small hint of worry that noone other than ness woule've been able to catch.
ness stayed silent as kaiser walked nearer and nearer, setting himself beside alexis.
"Alexis. Who is it."
"........you."
alexis ness admitted. was kaiser that blind and dense to not notice how much love ness had for him?
"What?"
kaiser replied in disbelief. he the one who put ness through the hanahaki disease. how horrible.
even without this disease, kaiser treated ness like shit, not even giving a fuck about his feelings. ness was just a tool to use. a boytoy.
but something in kaiser made him, blush at the thought of ness liking him. something in him felt jealous everytime ness spoke to another person.
something in him made him feel guilty and wished to protect alexis.
"alexis, look at me."
ness reluctantly complied and looked at kaiser.
the other immediately held his chin up and placed his lips on his. it felt like a miracle happened.
alexis immediately felt so much better, he throat stopped hurting and his heart went faster and faster.
"i love you, alexis ness. i'm sorry."
"i love you too, mi-... kaiser.."
"just say michael, mein liebling."
"okay, i love you too, michael kaiser ♡"
