Chapter Text
How hot was it supposed to be in there?
The building must’ve been air conditioned, but she felt so warm, and it seemed like more than just herself…
Maybe the working out was heating everything up and making her sweat as she watched it?
Shaking her head quickly, Melody closed her eyes and tried to calm herself down, feeling her breaths having picked up in pace and her body swaying slightly from her place on the bench. She focused on slowing down her breathing for a few seconds, trying to ignore the ever-present warmth around her and flooding into her body, and then opened her eyes back up to look over at the three animals she came there with.
Faith was doing lunges in front of the large mirror that covered the back wall, medium-sized barbells in each hand as she seemed intently focused on her workout. Not too far from her, on the exercise bench.. thing, was Allison, bench-pressing one of the larger two-handed barbells with some weights on each side, with Jodie spotting her and making sure she didn’t overexert herself.
Now, Melody knew the tiger could lift at least twice the capacity her girlfriend was handling at that moment, but she couldn’t help but be ‘impressed’ by it. She herself could barely lift a single one of those added weights, and here was Allison heaving up four at once.
Biting her lip, the fox turned her head away in embarrassment and tried to keep herself calm under the hot and sweaty atmosphere of the gym and the images sticking in her mind, Allison’s muscles bulging as they lifted the weight, her exertion making sweat start to trickle down her face as she grinned with utter confidence, heavy breaths escaping her wet lips and—
Shaking her head again, this time more vigorously as she tried to focus on calming herself down, Melody closed her eyes and tilted her head down, gripping her hands onto the edge of the metal bench below. Slow in, slow out, she breathed as she tried to tune out the noise around her, Jodie and Allison bantering and straining under the weight as well as some others doing their own thing, with the metal thunks of barbells being put away and footsteps of some animal ringing out, but she kept her focus on her breathing.
…Until she got startled by someone sitting down onto the bench next to her, jerking her attention up to see it was Faith, sweating and breathing heavily as she was hunched over in exhaustion. The unicorn was glancing towards Melody, and nodded wordlessly at her before letting her head hang down as she kept breathing heavily.
“Hi, Faith,” She said a little awkwardly, having to stop her reflex question about if the other animal was alright.
“…I want to say I’m surprised…” Faith replied through her exhausted breaths, “…That you always stick around for so long… But then I remember,” She looked up and towards the other pair of animals they arrived with, her small and endearing smile as she looked at Jodie saying enough on its own.
Giggling a bit to herself as she got the meaning, Melody looked over to the other girls as well, seeing they were taking a short break as Allison laid on the bench and Jodie leaned against the wall behind her. She couldn’t fully hear everything they were saying, but knew they were talking about her and Faith, and Allison looked over at Melody and smiled at her, she couldn’t help but give a big, dumb smile and an excited wave back.
“Ahh, I never know how they enjoy this so much…” Faith muttered to herself, drawing the fox’s attention back to her, where her own gaze was still fixed on her girlfriend and the enthusiasm both she and Allison tackled their exercise with. It was always obvious how much more serious and focused she was on her own workout compared to the others, and while Melody was far from the best person to judge one’s methodology on the subject, she at least knew that it was likely the general idea of the workout as a dedicated task she had to complete that was making it so difficult for her, especially compared to the other girls’ more casual approach.
Luckily though, such a strict adherence did still bring dividends, as could be plainly seen. Faith’s brown coat of fur was contrasted by the dark blue sports bra and tight shorts with white accents, each clinging to her body and getting lightly matted in her sweat. They both left so much of her exposed, with her toned arms, strong legs, and pleasantly defined abdomen that were all swollen with her exertion of her workout and now moved about with each motion of their owner, accentuating her strength and present exhaustion.
Pausing at the thought, Melody turned her head away and tried to properly rationalize it; she had long since known about the unicorn’s strict regimens and remarkable physical ability, but hadn’t seen her without full clothing in a while. Surely that must’ve coloured Melody’s thoughts about her towards a more seductive nature, and that wasn’t even mentioning how she was already entranced by her own girlfriend’s body and the sweltering environment all around her.
She could understand and appreciate the mental fortitude and physical strength that Faith had that gave her such a body, and any of her thoughts about her swollen, flexing muscles and sweaty, heaving body were undeniably due to the alluring context she was found in. She knew she shouldn’t be focusing on them, and was just trying to figure out her own thoughts, marking down each bead of sweat that trickled down Faith’s refined and defined body, across each clearly burning bicep that seemed so desperate for getting bitten into, as well as the ab muscles that heaved up and down with each breath, seeming like the perfect pillow to feel that strength wrap around and swallow her up—
Slapping her hands over her face, Melody tried to fight off her embarrassment again, this time knowing it was mixed with attraction to her friend. Faith was her friend, after all, and already had a relationship with another girl, and did not seem like the type to be super open with that type of thing, and Melody herself was already mixing up her relationship with Claire, so…
At this point, she was really starting to debate how good of an idea sticking around in the gym was, as while she could certainly get a nice view of her girlfriend working out and could spend some more time with her, it was always kind of embarrassing to be there with everyone else actually doing exercise and now being made worse with her lesbian-ing over Faith as well.
But at this point, she was already committed to it and didn’t want to just ditch her friends, so she really didn’t feel like leaving was in the cards. And, well, the view was still quite nice, so she might as well enjoy it despite how painfully lesbian it made her feel like.
