Work Text:
5 year old Mia had just lost her front tooth and it hurt, it hurt real bad. Even though she had a strong pain tolerance, with her being her father’s daughter and all, she was still a little girl – a little girl that needed to go to the dentist.
“Will! We’re leaving!” Felicity yells out rushing to the front door. “Without Lucas??” He asks, worried he might have to take care of the feisty 2 year old all by himself. William has taken care of Lucas alone many times, especially when Felicity was busy with Smoak Tech and Oliver with work, but those times were before his ‘Terrible Twos’ Stage. Lucas was particularly wild as he would jump off of tables, take off his clothes, and spit food off the counters. Though Will did take care of Mia a lot when she was Luke’s age, she was never this crazy. In fact, Will and Mia actually got along quite well. All the trouble for Mia started when she was 4, with her learning how to do crazy stunts and tricks from the times she watched her father train.
Before William could get a definite answer, Felicity and Mia had left the house. Leaving the two siblings alone. “Mama!!” Lucas screams out from his forest themed bedroom. “Mom isn’t home buddy!” He says from the living room loud enough to be heard by his baby brother.
Lucas runs to William upon hearing that answer, “Where Mama go?’
“To the dentist with Mia.”
“I want mama! Now!” Lucas shouts upset.
“I know bud, but right now you're stuck with me," William patiently says. Noticing his little brother pout, he suggests playing a game to cheer him up.
“You wanna play with your bows?” Pointing to the array of the different bow and arrow toys Oliver got him custom made by Cisco. They were made with special high-technology but safe materials perfect for toddlers. “Yeah!” He responds back excitedly, running to his collection. Damn he thought, 2 year olds were very easy to please.
As they play with the green bow and arrows, Will couldn’t help but remember how he used to do the same with his dad, remembering how hard it was for him as a child to lose his mom, to deal with all his father’s vigilante stuff, yet he was still able to spend time and play with him. But there he was, watching his little brother years later play, with not a care in the world. William was so proud to see how much his family grew over the past few years, and he was happy he was able to be with them throughout it.
An hour had passed without Lucas getting bored of the bows. “What about we draw now instead?" William recommends, admittedly getting tired of doing the same thing over and over again. The 2 year old happily nods and runs to his bucket of crayons and his paper. Felicity always encouraged creativity in the house for Lucas, as Will and Mia were truthfully never the best at art. William decided to draw a simple house, taking advantage of the many crayon colors that were in the bucket. Turning his head over, he saw Lucas' paper. Though being very rough crayon drawings, he could still make the picture out, it was his family.

A few hours pass by of William and Lucas just playing and drawing around the house, when suddenly the door opens. “We’re home!” They hear Felicity say, calling out for them. Lucas drops everything and runs to Felicity hugging her leg. William follows. “Look Will! I got another tooth pulled out!” Mia says excitedly while grinning a toothless grin. “How was your brother? I hope he wasn’t too hyper, you know how he is.” Felicity asks William empathetically. “Y’know what, he was surprisingly okay! We just drew and played with his bajillion toys.” “Aww that’s great! I’m so glad you were able to spend time with him, I know how busy you are with college and everything.”
“Yeah me too."
“Did he break anything this time?” Felicity asks concerned, knowing that whenever she would leave Luke with Oliver, something would end up broken. “Uhh, yeah.” He points at the freshly painted wall they scratched while playing, stopping himself from giggling remembering Lucas’ face when he heard the sound of the arrow hitting the wall.
This day, Will learnt a few things, number one, two year olds are handfuls and they take target practice very seriously, number two, Lucas' drawings make the perfect fridge art and number three, it gets better.
