Work Text:
Lady allowed herself a very quiet, ladylike, sigh of contentment as she lowered her head, ready to keep her place on the rug without wriggling. She was past being a puppy now. She surely counted as a grown dog, that collar and shiny license bestowed upon her. No more need of mentoring from Jock and Trusty; Lady could trot to meet them as equals.
Swiping her tongue on one already-pristine foreleg, she caught the cool metal of the license tag. Adorned as a faithful house-dog should be, she rested between the feet of her two people, trusting them in turn.
