Chapter Text
My bad habits lead to wide eyes stare into space
And I know I'll lose control of the things that I say
Yeah, I was lookin' for a way out, now I can't escape
Nothin' happens after two, it's true
It's true, my bad habits lead to you
Bad Habits; Ed Sheeran
Ed’s POV
The next afternoon I was down in the pub in my backyard getting everything organised for when everyone was due to arrive at three o’clock with Foy. Daisy was busy organising the other guest house for Harry and Louis and making the beds in the house for Dev and Jamal.
“So Ed, how’s everything going with you and Daisy?” Foy asked as we put out the glasses on the bar.
“It’s been really good, sure we’ve had a few moments but I think we really needed this time together to get our relationship started,” I smiled.
“You seem happy, like the happiest I’ve seen you in a long time.”
“I am mate, she’s one of the few people I can be completely myself around. It’s been nice being there for her while she processes everything she’s been through over the last five years too. I think this is definitely it for the both of us.”
“That’s good to hear, I want to see you settled with someone. You’ve seemed a bit lost the last few years.”
“Yeah I’ve felt the same, even with Chez I never felt completely settled. With Daisy though she just seems to ground me and I don’t feel so rushed.”
“Hold onto that Ed. You won’t get that with many women in your life,” Foy told me with a sad smile.
“I know mate, I know.”
A few minutes later, Daisy appeared at the door of the pub, dressed in a green and white striped dress with elbow length sleeves and a white bow headband in her hair.
“It’s half two boys, you might want to go and get ready. I got a text from Harry just before saying they’re about twenty minutes away,” Daisy said.
“Sure thing Daise. We’re pretty much ready to go in here. Do you need anything my darling?” I asked her.
“I’m good Eds,” she smiled.
“Come on, let’s go up to the house. I’ll meet you back here Foy?” I asked him.
“Yep.”
Back up at the house, I went to shower quickly and change into something other than my tatty flannel and cargo shorts I had been wearing. Daisy was putting the finishing touches on the pizzas we were going to put in the pizza oven down in the pub while I got ready. Once I was ready to go back down to the pub, I stood at the door of the kitchen, just watching Daisy preparing the food and smiling to myself. These were the moments that made me happiest and what I looked forward to most in the future, Daisy and I preparing for events with our friends and spending time together.
Daisy turned around and saw me watching her and smiled at me, “You alright there creeper?”
“I was just thinking about how happy this makes me and how I can’t wait to do more of this with you.”
“How do you mean?” she asked.
“Well us doing things with our friends together.”
“You mean your friends,” she chuckled.
“Hey, they’re your friends too Daise. They always have been. Now, let’s get these pizzas down to the pub. Do I look alright?” I asked referring to my outfit I had chosen, a pair of black jeans and a black and white flannel shirt and my black and white Nikes.
“You know I’m a sucker for you in a flannel Edward. Just roll up the sleeves so I can see your tattoos,” she requested.
I shook my head and laughed before doing as she asked, “You and my tattoos, I swear.”
As we walked down to the pub, pizza trays in hand, Harry’s Range Rover drove down the driveway. I nodded to him in acknowledgement before ducking into the pub quickly to put the pizzas down and go back out to greet him and Louis.
“Haz! Lou! Long time no see,” I greeted excitedly as I went over to them as they got out of the car.
“Hey Ed! How are you lad?” Louis asked holding his hand out to shake.
“Good mate, yourself?” I replied shaking his hand and then hugging him.
“Not too bad. Cheers for the invite.”
“No worries, it’s been way too long.”
“Oi, don’t forget about me Sheeran!” Harry said from behind me.
“As if I would Styles,” I replied turning around and giving him a hug. “Long time no see buddy.”
“I know, far too long. I love what you’ve done with the place, it looks amazing!” Harry complimented.
“Cheers. It looks way different to when you would have seen it last. Now I’ve got you two down in the other guest house, bring your bags down and I’ll show you then we’ll head over to the pub.”
They grabbed their bags and we started walking over to the second guest house.
“So who else is coming today?” Louis asked.
“Jamal, Devlin, Foy and Daisy.”
“Daisy? I haven’t seen her since 2018! What’s she been up to?” Harry asked.
“We’re dating now! She’s taking time off teaching for a while, so she’s been staying here with me for about a month now.”
“About fucking time mate! You two should have been dating ten years ago!” Louis said clapping me on the back.
“Yeah I’ve been told that a few times,” I laughed. “We both made a pact to each other though a while ago that we would date each other when we could take the time to be with each other properly. This has been the first time we’ve been able to do that and I think our friendship deserved that too.”
“Yeah we get that, hey Haz?” Louis agreed.
“Definitely. This COVID shit has given us time to just sit and take stock of what is important to us. It’s the first time we’ve both properly stopped since the band,” Harry replied.
“I bet it would be. I just can’t believe how fast this has all happened. It’s been great for getting songs written though, I have to say. I’ve got the label on my back to get my next album done though and I’m a little stuck. It’s giving me the shits, I haven’t had writers block like this before,” I confessed as we got to the door of the guest house.
“Shit man, that’s the worst. You should show me a few of the songs you’re working on,” Louis suggested.
“Yeah for sure. Anyway lads, this is where you’re staying. Feel free to dump your bags and we’ll head over.”
When we got back over to the pub, Dev and Jamal were there too. I greeted them and reintroduced them to Harry and Louis, they hadn’t seen the two of them in years. Daisy was excited to see Harry and Louis and was happily standing talking to them. I went around getting everyone’s drink orders and went behind the bar to prepare them. Harry came over and offered to come and help me.
“Nah mate, come and sit and talk to me though. It’s been ages since we have had a proper catch up,” I told him.
Harry sat in front of me at the bar while I was making the drinks for everyone. He was dressed so much more relaxed than the Harry I saw in the press, opting to wear just a pair of light denim jeans and a black t-shirt and a pair of Adidas sneakers. My friendship with Harry was one I always treasured, we bonded back in 2010 when we were both living at Chris Leonard’s house in London and we have stayed close ever since. I took him under my wing at first because he was only sixteen and was so naïve and had no idea about the music industry. As our respective fames grew, we both became sounding boards for each other. His relationship with Louis was always a tough one to watch from the sidelines, they were always forced to keep it hidden, but those of us who knew about it, knew just how much they loved each other. The hidden messages in songs, the longing looks on stage and in interviews, they never exactly kept it well hidden. They both balanced each other out well. Harry could be highly strung, and worried so much about what people thought about him especially in the early days, whereas Louis had a devil may care attitude. Louis was mischievous and always getting himself into trouble, whereas Harry was always trying to do the right thing. They were both very family orientated, and Harry was such a support system for Louis when his Mum and sister passed away. Sure, all the beards Harry had to have over the years in their PR representatives’ goals to suppress their relationship had taken a toll on their relationship at various points, and Louis having a baby with a girl he had a fling with back in 2016 when he and Harry were on a break but now with COVID, they seemed tighter than ever.
“So, you were saying you’re struggling with your new album?” Harry asked.
“Yeah, I don’t know, it feels like I’m having a bit of a crisis of confidence after Divide. It took me six months to even touch a guitar after I finished tour. I’ve got a few songs I’ve finished, but not enough to appease the label. They want it done by April.”
“You’ve got eight months; you’ll smash it no problem. You always do mate. I’m sure your relationship with Daisy will give you plenty of material,” he winked. “I mean isn’t most of Multiply about her?”
“Shhh, she doesn’t know that,” I chuckled.
“Whatever you say Sheeran,” he laughed. “Daisy isn’t stupid. That’s like you saying Divide wasn’t about Cherry. Speaking of Chez, have you heard from her?”
“Yeah, she’s back in New York. She’s doing okay, she’s seeing someone over there. There’s no bad blood between us. Just the touring and distance meant it wasn’t going to work and we are better as friends.”
“The touring really does take its toll, hey? COVID has been such a blessing in disguise. This is the longest Lou and I have been able to spend time together since the band finished and our relationship has been so much happier for it.”
“The two of you definitely seem it, you seem a lot more relaxed than the last time I saw you. How is Louis going with not being able to get over to LA to see Freddie?” I asked, passing Harry a tequila on ice.
“He’s been Facetiming him most days but I think once the lockdown lifts he’ll be on the first plane over. He’s four now, can you believe it?”
“Shit that’s gone fast.”
“I know, crazy hey! Do you think you and Daisy will have kids?”
“I hope so. I honestly think Daisy is it. I’ve always believed she is my soul mate and we just had to wait for the right time for us to work as a couple and now just seems to be it. I fucking adore her, H.” I sighed with a smile and looked over at Daisy to see her deep in conversation with Foy and Jamal.
“I know you do Ed. I’ve always known. I see the way you look at her, and I’ll never forget the night you called me after the shit that went down with Liam. I’d never heard you sound so angry and upset before. I know she adores you too. She always has, her face lights up when she sees you walk in the room and her whole body relaxes,” he replied. “You know you’ve got something good when they react like that to your presence.”
“Amen to that mate. You’ve always been the same with Louis. I remember when you were sixteen, you were exactly the same. When you were completely smitten and had the biggest crush on him, every time he walked in the room, your face would light up and go bright red but you would relax too,” I teased.
“Oh of course, how else would I know all this!” he remarked with a wink.
I finally finished making the drinks up for everyone and started carrying them over, two at a time to everyone – a beer for Foy, Hennessy and apple juice for Jamal, Vodka and Diet Coke for Dev, a Vodka red bull for Louis and a Vodka Lemonade for Daisy. I got myself a whiskey and coke and Harry and I went over to join in the conversation Louis was having with Dev.
As the afternoon wore on, I noticed Daisy spending more time clearing away everyone’s dishes and glasses and hiding out the back of the pub cleaning up rather than socialising. I noticed her at one point, going up to the house alone. I was mid-conversation with Louis and Foy, so I didn’t want to be rude and leave so I waited until the conversation was over to go up and check on her. I had a feeling she may have gone to have some quiet time because she was overstimulated, but I wanted to go and check on her nonetheless. I ended up finding her in our bedroom, laying on the bed.
“Hey sweetheart, are you alright?” I asked sitting on the edge of the bed beside her.
“I just needed a break; it was getting a bit overwhelming.”
“I noticed you going out the back and doing all the clean up from the food. Do you need me to do anything for you?” I asked.
“No it’s okay Eds. I’ll be back down in a little bit. I just need like ten minutes. It’s so good to see everyone though. Harry and Louis look so happy,” she remarked.
“They do, hey? Are you sure you don’t want me to make you a drink or anything?”
She shook her head, “I’m okay Teddy. Can I have you to myself for ten minutes?”
“Of course sweetheart,” I replied with a smile slipping off my sneakers and laying down beside her on the bed and putting my arm out for her to snuggle into. I started tracing patterns on her arm, watching goosebumps form.
“I love you Ed,” Daisy said quietly as she started tracing my tattoos with her fingers.
“I love you too, my girl.”
“I was thinking…” Daisy started.
“Oh dear,” I teased.
“Fuck off,” she slapped my arm cheekily.
“Sorry darling, what were you thinking,” I replied kissing her cheek.
“I want to get a tattoo.”
“Seriously?” I asked surprised. I had been trying to convince Daisy to get a tattoo since she was eighteen but she had always said she wasn’t ready.
“Yeah, your handwriting and your song lyrics.”
“Which lyrics?”
“Some from Tenerife Sea, just on my arm.”
“That can be arranged. What made you decide you wanted it done?” I asked curiously.
“I was talking to Louis about it, but I’ve been thinking about it for a few months and now that we’re actually dating I think it would actually have some significance. Would you do it?” she asked.
“I mean if you want me to, but I’d probably rather you get a professional to do your first one, sweetheart. I don’t want to fuck it up,” I admitted. “Your first tattoo is an important thing, and the fact you want both my handwriting and my lyrics, I really don’t want to fuck it up. So when we go to London next, I’ll book you in with my tattoo artist there and we’ll get it done okay?”
“Deal. Eds…”
“Daisy Jay…”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, so much sweetheart. I’m so proud of how far you’ve come in the last couple of months. You’ve really come out of your shell. I think this time off was the best thing you could have done.”
“Dev said the same thing, he said this was the most relaxed he had seen me in years. Was teaching really making me appear that stressed out?” she asked turning to face me, her green eyes meeting mine.
I tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear, “Do you want the honest answer?”
“Always Ed, you’re the one person in my life who I hope doesn’t bullshit me.”
“No, I wouldn’t bullshit you. Just I can sugar coat it, or I can give you the raw truth.”
“Raw truth Ed.”
I sighed and kissed her forehead, “Daisy, you haven’t been yourself since I got you from Innisfail. These last six weeks have been the most relaxed I’ve seen you since you started teaching back in 2016. I will forever stand by the fact you should have come on the rest of the tour with me instead of going back to London and just jumping back into teaching again. I still remember the first day I ever met you and you telling me all you wanted to be was a music photographer and teaching was your back up. You never chased photography. Why?” I asked.
“I didn’t think I was good enough, I mean I saw all the photos that Zack and Mark did and all the ones you were getting done in photoshoots and I didn’t think I could measure up,” Daisy confessed.
“Oh sweetheart. The photos you’ve taken of me, all the candid ones before everything took off, are some of my favourites and not just because you took them. I’m sure if you picked up a camera again it would be like second nature. Why don’t you look into doing a photography course and then when I can finally do shows again, you can do my photography?” I asked her.
“I mean, if you really want me to. I’m going to need some serious practice.”
“Well, you have a more than willing test subject any time you need him,” I chuckled putting my hands under my chin with a cheesy grin.
She shoved me lightly and laughed, “If you’re my test subject, I’m only taking photos of you with your shirt off. There must be some perks.”
“You and my tattoos Samuels, I swear.”
“I can’t help I find them incredibly sexy,” she teased before poking her tongue out at me.
“Oi, sassy pants, watch your mouth,” I growled with a smirk.
“What are you going to do about it?” she goaded with a smile.
I slid my hand up and put it against her throat just to tease her and saw her bite her lip, “I mean I could always have my way with you right now Daisy girl… but I think I might just make you wait.”
“Fuck you Eds,” she moaned as I closed my hand around her throat before I kissed her deeply.
She returned the kiss as I loosen my grip on her throat, her hand going under my flannel shirt and her fingers moving softly across my stomach causing goosebumps.
I pulled away from the kiss and she looked at me with those sea green eyes of hers and giggled, “Why do you have to be so good at kissing Sheeran?”
“One of life’s mysteries Samuels. Now I’ll give you some more later once everyone has gone to bed. Deal?” I offered.
She sighed and kissed me quickly, “Deal Eds.”
“Perfect. Do you want to come back down to the pub with me or do you still want a few minutes?” I asked. “I should probably get back down there, be a good host and all.”
“I’ll be down in five.”
“Okay sweetheart. I love you,” I whispered before I kissed her softly one more time before getting up and going to slip and shoes back on. As I was putting my shoes on, I felt Daisy wrap her arms around my torso from behind and kiss my neck where it meets my shoulder.
“You really are testing my self control today aren’t you, Miss Samuels?” I chuckled.
“Who, me?” she replied before kissing my cheek.
“Yes you, Daisy Jay. Stop tempting me.”
“You do realise you’ve now set me a challenge to see if I can make you cave earlier right?”
“Oh it’s on Samuels. Time starts when you get back down to the pub,” I smirked getting up and walking towards the door. I turned to look at her before I walked out the door. She was now sitting cross legged on the bed, smiling at me innocently.
“Deal… Sir,” she replied with a wink. I pointed at her knowingly and shook my head as I chuckled to myself.
Walking back down to the pub, I thought to myself how far Daisy had come. Just a few years ago she would have been so self conscious about leaving a social event when she felt overwhelmed and now she left without giving it a second thought. Then to see how excited she was about the two of us having fun after we were done socalising that her bratty side was coming out a little. I never really got to see that side of her all that much, but when I did, dear God it was fun.
When I got back down to the pub, I decided to start up the firepit so we could all sit outside and enjoy the sunset. Louis saw me lugging out a few pieces of firewood from the back of the pub and came out to help.
“You want a hand Ed?” Louis asked.
“Oh sure mate. Just grab a couple more pieces from behind the pub there,” I said gesturing over to behind the pub with my body because my hands were full.
A few minutes later the fire pit was full and Louis offered me his lighter and I managed to get the fire going. I pulled out the chairs from inside the pub and encouraged everyone to come outside. I went into the bar to get everyone another round of drinks and Daisy walked in while I was making them and sat in front of me on one of the bar seats.
“Why hello little miss, feeling better?” I asked knowingly.
“I mean, I could be better. Can I have a vodka lemonade please bartender?” she replied with a sweet smile.
“I mean, you could… but it’ll come with a price,” I teased.
“Oh and pray tell, what would that price be Mr Sheeran?” she quipped.
“Promise you’ll sit on my lap when we go and sit around the fire?” I asked.
“That was my plan anyway dear Edward,” she replied with a grin.
“One Vodka Lemonade coming up then.”
Daisy helped me bring out everyone’s drinks and then we sat on one of the chairs together, Daisy on my lap. I wrapped my arms around her torso as we joined in the conversation that was flowing between everyone. I felt Daisy using her fingers to trace the tattoos on my arm as she was listening to the conversation and I moved my other arm that she wasn’t tracing patterns on, so I could play with the ends of her hair. Two could play at this game.
“Oi, lovebirds, would you two like to get a room?” Dev teased.
Daisy gave him the finger, and everyone laughed.
“It’s so nice seeing the two of you together finally,” Harry said with a smile.
“It’s nice being able to finally be together,” Daisy admitted as she squeezed my arm affectionately.
“I remember seeing the two of you at my show in Melbourne back in 2018 and I could have sworn there was something going on between the two of you then,” Harry questioned.
“We’ve been friends with benefits on and off since I was eighteen Haz. You were right though, we were in one of our friends with benefits situations when we came to see you,” Daisy confessed.
“I knew there was something going on!” Harry exclaimed.
“You know Daisy and I dated when she was fifteen and I was seventeen? Only for a couple of months though. We both agreed we were too young and were better off as friends,” I told Harry.
“You never told me that Eds,” Harry stated.
“We never really told anyone,” Daisy replied with a smile and then kissed my cheek.
“Have you two got any plans once the lockdown is over?” Jamal asked.
“Not that we’ve talked about. I mean I need to finish this album, so we may need to go to Europe or the States for a few weeks,” I shrugged.
“I’m not complaining,” Daisy chuckled.
“Do you think you’ll go back to teaching once lockdown is done Daisy?” Louis asked.
“I’m not sure Lou.”
“Daisy might come and do some photography for me,” I smiled.
“I didn’t know you were into photography?” Louis asked.
“Yeah, when I first met Ed way back in the day, I actually wanted to be a music photographer and teaching was my backup plan. When I finished school, I got into teaching at uni and my parents told me that was the smarter option so that was what I went with,” Daisy explained.
“She’s a bloody good photographer too, Lou.” I boasted with a grin.
“Shove off Sheeran, you’re biased.” She laughed before she kissed me quickly.
“I remember when you did some stuff for SB back in the day. You’re always more than welcome to come and do stuff for us if you like,” Jamal offered.
“Thanks Jam,” Daisy replied. “It’s all still a big if. I need to do a few courses to refresh my skills again.”
“I think you should just jump in and do it,” I told her.
“What, the Sheeran technique?” Foy teased.
“Shove it Foy. It works very well, thank you very much!” I laughed.
“It does, but you know me. I like to practice and plan things first,” Daisy replied quietly.
“I know you do, but I’m hoping if this last month and a half has taught you anything, that an impulsive decision isn’t a bad thing every now and then,” I replied. “I mean look at what your time off has done.”
Daisy turned around to look at me with a disappointed look on her face, “Sometimes Ed, you really need to think about what you say and when you say it.”
She then got up and walked back up towards the house.
“Daisy!” I called after her. She didn’t turn around, if anything she walked faster.
“Ed, I think that is your cue to call it a night. You go and check on Daisy and we’ll pack up down here,” Foy instructed.
“Are you sure?” I asked, not wanting to be a bad host but also knowing if I didn’t go after Daisy things could get bad fast.
“Ed, don’t be a fuckwit. You clearly said something that upset her. We’ll be fine. We all know where we are sleeping tonight. We’ll see you in the morning. Go check on your girl.” Foy told me.
“Alright, cheers lads. Make yourselves at home, feel free to have more drinks and stuff. Don’t stop on my account. Foy you know where the key to the pub is.” I told them before legging it up to the house to catch Daisy.
I caught up with Daisy just before she walked into the house and grabbed her hand to stop her.
“Stop Daise. Let’s talk about this.”
“I don’t want to talk right now Ed. I just need five minutes to myself,” she huffed pulling her hand out of my grip.
“What did I say?” I asked confused as she walked into the house and I followed behind her.
“Oh, gee Edward, I don’t know, maybe you didn’t need to point out to everyone the fact that I can’t handle making impulsive decisions. I’m fucking trying, you know I am. I’m not you. I can’t live my life on the fly. I wish I could.” She shouted as she stood in the door frame of the living room. “Maybe you need someone who can drop everything and follow you and not over think it.” I saw tears start to fall down her cheeks.
“Shhh Daise, it’s alright sweet girl,” I reassured her getting closer to her. “I’m sorry I said that in front of everyone. I shouldn’t have said it. I know you’re trying.”
“I… I’m trying so hard to be everything you want Ed,” she sobbed.
“Daisy, what the fuck makes you think I want you to be anything other than you?” I exclaimed.
I saw her recoil and step back from me and go into the lounge room and sit on the couch and bring her knees up to the chest, her chest racking with sobs. I went and knelt in front of her on the ground.
“Daisy girl, I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have raised my voice at you,” I apologised putting a reassuring hand on her ankle.
“I… I… I’m really trying to be like Chez and all the other girls Ed. I want to be as social… and…and as… as able to go with the flow,” she said into her knees.
I took a deep breath and sat back on my heels, “Daisy, I need you to look at me sweet girl.”
She shook her head. She was going into shutdown.
“Daise, I’m not joking right now. I need you to look at me. Come and sit on the floor with me, come and sit in my lap, wrap your legs around me. We’re going to have a serious chat and this is the last time we are going to have this chat.”
Daisy took her head from her knees and looked at me confused.
“I’m being serious Samuels. Get that butt of yours down here and on my lap, right now.” I said calmly but with a hint of dominance in my voice. I readjusted my seating position so I was cross legged.
Daisy climbed off the couch hesitantly, wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and sat my lap and wrapped her legs around my torso and looked at me quickly before looking down at our legs.
I used my finger to move her chin to get her to look at me.
“Daisy, I know right now eye contact is the last thing you want but right now I need you to look at me. I need you to listen to me Daisy Jay.”
“I… I’m listening Ed,” she sniffled.
“Do you see Cherry here?” I asked her.
“N… No.”
“Do you see any of my other exes here?”
“No.”
“Who is the one constant person that has stuck around for the last twelve years?” I asked as I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
“Me?” she answered hesitantly.
“That’s exactly right Daise. You’re the only one out of all of them who is still here. You’ve never run when shit got hard between the two of us and I’m not about to either. I love you my sweet girl, I always have and I always will. Some silly fight isn’t going to change that. I don’t want you to be able to drop everything and follow me. That’s not who you are and I don’t ever expect you to do that. Our friendship never expected that of each other and I don’t expect our relationship to either. Our conversation we had today about you doing photography for me should have just stayed between the two of us until we had talked about it more. That was my fault. I know you’re still adjusting to not having a routine. This hasn’t been easy for you but I’m so proud of you for trying,” I told her wiping the tears from her cheeks with my thumbs and then kissing her forehead reassuringly.
“I don’t want you to get sick of me because I… I can’t keep up with you.”
“Daisy Jay Samuels, I don’t ever want to hear that sentence come out of your mouth ever again. I’d never be sick of you. You are the most important person in my life. We’re a team, we do life at our pace. Don’t forget, right now, we have time. The best part about this pandemic is, we don’t know when things are going to go back to normal or what normal will be for a while, so we have time,” I reassured her running my hands through her hair.
“I… I’m sorry I yelled at you Teddy,” she apologised before she kissed me softly.
I pulled away and smiled at her, “I deserved it. But I mean what I said, we aren’t having this conversation again. I don’t want or need you to be like Chez or any of the other girls. I only need you to be you. That’s why I love you.”
“J… just for selfish reasons… can you tell me why you love me?” Daisy asked, a blush coming to her cheeks.
I laughed and kissed her forehead, “I love you because you’re the one person in my life who genuinely calls me out on my shit. You’re never scared to tell me when I’m being an arsehole. I love you because you make me feel safe, I’m not afraid to make mistakes when I’m with you because I know you’ll still be there when I do, and you help me fix them without judging me. I love you because you make an effort with my friends, and I can leave you in a social situation with them and you’ll try your hardest to make the social situation work even though I know it’s not something you are comfortable with. I love you because you’re passionate about everything you do, and you don’t rest until you perfect things. I love you because you’ve never cared about the material shit, you knew me when I was crashing on couches and it never bothered you when you could have easily written me off as a no-hoper. I love you because you feel comfortable being yourself around me. You don’t feel the need to be someone different with me, even now that we are a couple. You’re the first girlfriend I’ve ever had that I have honestly felt like this with and I think the fact we have been friends for so long has a lot to do with that. I love that you aren’t afraid to admit when situations get too much for you and you’ll just take yourself away from the situation. I know that took a lot of work for you. There’s no way fifteen year old you would have been able to do that. But in the last two years particularly, you’re so much better at identifying what you need and just acting on it and not worrying about anyone else. I love that you have a good relationship with my family and you feel comfortable around them. I love that you love listening to my music and even listen to the crap stuff but aren’t scared to tell me when a song is shit. I love that you like having lazy days on the couch with me just watching telly or lying there with your head in my lap while I’m tinkering away at a song. I love that you give the best cuddles and the way you trace my tattoos while we’re cuddling. I love how submissive you become when I slip my hand around your throat and the smirk that creeps across your face. I love the sounds you make when you wake up in the morning. There’s so much more I love about you Daisy girl but for now these are my favourites.”
Daisy kissed me passionately, her hands tangling in my hair as she did. Her hips moving closer to mine as we kissed and I kissed her back with just as much passion then started kissing down her neck.
“I fucking love you Edward,” she moaned as I kissed down her neck.
“You’re all mine Daise. All mine,” I growled in her ear. “Stand up baby.”
“Huh?” she asked confused.
“Stand up. Now,” I smirked, a hint of dominance back in my voice.
Daisy moved out of my lap quickly and stood up shakily. She held out her hand to help me up and I smiled at her as I accepted her hand. “Thanks sweet girl. Now, wrap your arms around my neck,” I instructed.
Daisy looked at me trying to figure out what my plan of attack was as she wrapped her arms around my neck. Faster than she could comprehend, my arms picked up her legs and she figured out to wrap them around my waist.
“Eds! You’re going to hurt your back!” she laughed.
“Just go with it! Right now, you and I are going to our room… and you’re all mine for the rest of the night. I think I need to switch off that brain of yours for a while, what do you think sweet Daisy girl?”
Daisy nodded.
“Oh no baby, you know how this works. Come on. Words,” I growled into her ear before biting her ear lobe.
“Y… yes Eds. I need you to turn my brain off, let me be yours.”
I kissed her softly before pulling away so I could find my way to the bedroom without tripping over.
