Work Text:

"Uh, isn't that Eva's MP3 player?" Lindsay asked, yawning. "Yep." Heather smirked and slipped the MP3 player into her back pocket. "Well, isn't she gonna get really mad when she realises it's gone?" Lindsay asked once again. Heather began to laugh. "That's what I'm hoping." She remarked.

Just a few hours ago, everyone thought there was going to be a simple challenge, not something as stupid as trying to keep yourself awake. It's been a whole day without sleep for Heather, and she already manipulated two people into an alliance with her, so she deserves some sleep.

Not to mention her stealing to sabotage the other team. Of course she had a heart, and she knew stealing was wrong, but this was a reality show, and the goal was to create drama.

As soon as Heather saw Eva walking back, she slid the MP3 player deeper into her pocket, and when Eva looked her way suspiciously, she just waved at her and gave her a cute little smile.

Eva didn't suspect a thing from Heather and just sat back down at the campfire next to her. Heather looked over at her. Why not mess with her some more? She hasn't noticed the MP3 player yet, so what's the harm in poking the bear, so to speak?

"Hey Eva." Heather said, moving over to her. "What do you want?" Eva looked up at her with a mean face. "Well, I know we are on different teams, but can I talk to you in private?" Heather asked while she batted her eyelashes. "Fine." Eva said, walking over to the cabins.

Heather began to walk over to meet the other girl. Lindsay grabbed Heather on the shoulder and turned her around, "Heather! What are you doing? She's not on our team." Lindsay said it ecstatically. "Keep your voice down, Lindsay! I have a plan, trust me. We're in an alliance now, remember?" She reassured her before walking off.

Heather ran over to Eva and sat next to her on the stairs of the cabin. "So, what do you want?" Eva asked. "I was thinking we could do a cross-team alliance." Heather said, moving closer to the other. Eva's face turned bright pink, and she started stammering over herself. Well, uh..." she paused, trying to regain her composure.

"It would be like we're dating or something." Heather smirked while using two of her fingers to walk up Eva's arm. Eva looked her in the eyes and said, "Oh, I don't know." She pushed away from her. Heather huffed while crossing her arms, but then she got an idea.

Just before this talk, Heather went through Eva's music, and the first song she saw was All the Things She Said, so obviously she was very queer. Heather decided to use this knowledge to her advantage. She confidently said, "Well, if you're not sure, maybe we talk a bit. I really like women."

Eva just stared at her, like she didn't understand what Heather just said. "Oh yeah, women are cool." Heather raised an eyebrow, realising that Eva hadn't caught on to her subtle hint. Trying to be more direct, she added, "I mean, I'm attracted to women. Like romantically and stuff."

The other girl still wasn't catching on. Heather began to feel a bit frustrated, wondering if she needed to be even more explicit. "I AM FLIRTING WITH YOU!" Heather yelled. "Oh." Eva muttered.

"Wait, are you just trying to flirt with me so we can make an alliance?" Eva asked. "Yes." Heather flat-out said. The two sat there in silence just trying to process what happened until they heard footsteps coming closer to them, and on the spur of the moment, Heather immediately started kissing Eva.

Eva was taken aback by Heather's sudden action, but she didn't resist. The kiss felt unexpected yet strangely exhilarating, leaving them both in a state of uncertainty about what would happen next. "Heather?" Lindsay called out.

Startled, Eva and Heather quickly broke apart, their faces flushed with a mix of surprise and confusion. "What is it, Lindsay?" Heather responded, trying to compose herself.  Lindsay looked back and forth at the two for a solid 3 minutes before they finally connected in her head. "Oh! OH!" Realization dawned on Lindsay's face as she pieced together the situation. She couldn't help but let out a nervous chuckle, breaking the tension in the room. "I'll see you two back at the campfire." She said, giving the two a thumbs up and walking away.

"Sorry about that. Take me up on my offer, okay?" Heather smirked, catching up to Lindsay as she walked back to the campfire while Eva stood there.

They eventually made their way back to the campfire, and half of the people there were already asleep, and the fact that Chris was reading boring stories at home didn't help; it only made them more tired.

Lindsay fell asleep long before Heather, and she sat there, resolute, doing everything she could to keep herself awake. She knew that keeping awake was critical if she wanted to establish herself as a formidable contender. Heather's eyelids became heavier as the fire crackled and the night grew darker, but she refused to sleep.

Eva was still really confused about what she should do after Heather's offer, so she decided to take advantage of this opportunity when Heather was most vulnerable. Of course, this was going to be done in the most friendly way possible.

"Hey, Heather, come here." Eva gave a yawn. Heather knew that there was no harm in sitting next to her, and this is what she wanted. "If you lay down and start to fall asleep, I can wake you up, you know." She said.

Heather was experiencing a strange sensation in her stomach. No one had ever taken pity on her before, so this felt unusual. She lowered herself and lay on top of Eva's thighs, which surprised both of them. Heather looked up at her and said, "Oh, don't act so shy now." Before turning over and falling asleep, she winked at the other girl above her. Eva blushed, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.

Not long after Heather fell asleep on her, Eva passed out as well, and they cuddled all night. Even though they were together the entire night, the MP3 player never fell out of Heather's back pocket.
