Chapter Text
Izuku was greeted with a flick to his forehead the second he walked through the front door, red eyes glaring at him.
“Where have you been? You were supposed to be here over an hour ago, now we’re going to miss it”
“Sorry. I stopped by the store on the way to see the new Young Age All Might figurine and then some guy who seemed really familiar started talking to me about heroes and I ended up losing track of time. sorry"
“Its fine. Lets go, we can still try to catch some of it”
The three of them wait for Izuku to put his stuff down and change into something with a little bit fancier for the night. They make sure they each have enough money to buy at least one thing at the festival and play a couple of the games, before they’re out the door.
The four boys practically run down the street as the try to make it in time to at least see a little of the free firework show at the festival that was being advertised on the bulletin board at the library.
It was supposed to start at 7pm and end at midnight, they wanted to get there sometime in the middle. So they all agreed to be home by 8pm so that the could hope to make it by 9:30ish if they hurried, since it was a good distance away from their house.
It was now pushing 9:30 and they’d be lucky to grab some food, play a couple of game and catch the fireworks, since they started at 11 and ended the night off.
They slowed down and hid behind a building when they ran into a pair of heroes patrolling, not wanting draw any attention to the fact that they were out past curfew without any adults around. When they were sure it was safe to do, they took off running down the street as fast as they could, Shoto trailing behind the group a bit before his brothers would slow down and match his pace, this continued on for a while before they were screeching to a halt right in front of the brightly colored festival.
They stared in awe, taking in everything from the decorations to the dozens of food stalls that seemed to never end, the delicious scents mixing into the air makes their mouths water.
Izuku immediately walks over to the Taiyaki stand and orders one. After paying and getting the snack, the four of them walk off to the side before he breaks it into fourths and gives a piece to each of his brothers.
Together, they take a bite, moaning at the taste.
“that was delicious!”
“oh my god!”
“holy shit!”
“mmmmm!”
The four brothers all say at the same time, bursting into laughter seconds later.
“But seriously” Hitoshi starts “that was the best thing I’ve eaten in my life” he says as he wipes the face with a napkin. The other three voicing their agreement.
They continue to walk around, stopping to play a couple of games they passed along the way.
“I bet you can’t knock down all the pins” Hitoshi says to Katsuki jokingly, motioning to the smaller version of a bowling lane. The blondes’ eyes narrow at the purple haired boy.
“Ha! I bet I can knock down all the pins in just two turns” he bites back, making it even more challenging for himself, but he wouldn’t be Katsuki if he didn’t try and push himself past his limits.
“a thousand yen?”
“You’re on eyebags”
The two of them shake hands as Katsuki walks over to pay. The three of them watch as Katsuki rolls the ball and manages to knock down 6 out of 10 of the pins. When he rolls the second ball and final ball he instantly knocks down 3 of the pins, but the last one tips back and forth slowly and the three of them hold their breath.
“YES!” Katsuki cheers when the last pin tips to the right and falls down, joining the rest of them on the ground. “Now pay up” he does this silly little dance for a few seconds before holding his hand out in front of his brother.
Hitoshi rolls his eyes, but digs his wallet out of his pocket and hands his brother the money anyway. “Nice job Kat’s, I knew you could do it all along”
“Yeah right” Katsuki replies as he puts the money away.
“What do you guys want to do next?” Shoto asks as they start to walk again.
“Hitoshi’s the only one who hasn’t played anything yet, what do you want to do Toshi” Izuku asks and they all turn to look at the boy. He decides to keep walking and see if anything catches his eye before they had to go and catch the fireworks.
He ends up finding one of those shooting games where if he knocks down the prize he wins it. He ends up losing but then Katsuki goes and ends up winning him a small purple cat that the blonde swears looks just like him.
As they walk he finds himself glancing down at the stuffed toy in his arms and maybe it does kind of look like him. with its soft purple fur and its eyes that somehow seem as tired as Hitoshi’s’ does.
They make it to the firework show with twenty minutes to spare. They find a seat near the back in a less secluded area and lay down on their backs, watching as brightly colored fireworks light up the night sky. There are ones that say words and some that have pictures of smiling faces. They watch with smiling faces, each of them pointing out the ones that they find the coolest.
Time seems to go by way too fast and before any of them know it the last couple of fireworks were going off and then people were starting to leave, walking past them as the continue to lay on the grass, starting up at the stars in the sky.
Its not until Shoto mumbles out “I’m want soba” that they all get up and head back home. they stop at one of those 24 hour convenient stores to buy the missing ingredient so Katsuki can make them all soba when they get home.
In the last few months, it was rare for Shouta and Hizashi to have the same day off, especially with all the cases that Shouta has been working on lately and the time Hizashi has been putting in at the radio station, with his regular show in the morning, to the late night shows he picked up when one of his coworkers went on maternity leave.
So they were taking the night to just spend time with each other, no phones, no work, no interruptions. Just Shouta and Hizashi. They made sure to tell everyone in advance that they would be turning their phones off but if it was an emergency that they would still be able to reach them on their buzzers.
They started the day off by doing something neither of them had been able to do in a while, sleeping in. They turned off their alarms before they laid down in bed, they both checked their phones one last time, making sure nothing important had happened before turning their phones off and placing them on their nightstand.
They cuddled up with each other, Hizashi’s head resting on Shouta’s chest with their fingers intertwined. Minutes later they were both asleep.
It was past 2pm when Hizashi began to stir, pressing his face deeper into Shouta’s neck before opening his eyes. He blinks a couple of times, his eyes adjusting to the light. Shouta is sprawled out on top of him, one hand on his waist as his other arm is resting beside them.
He wiggles himself up enough until his eyes find Shouta’s face and a smile takes over his features as he looks up at his husband, lips parted as he snores lightly.
He has to pry his husband off of him, but when he does manage to slip free of his strong grasp he heads across the hall to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face. a little while later he’s walking into the kitchen, getting started on the coffee he knows his husband will still want despite having slept for well over twelve hours.
While the coffee brews he gets started on lunch, nothing too heavy since they planned on ordering from the ramen place down the street for dinner.
It doesn’t take Shouta long to wake up, missing the feeling of Hizashi’s body pressed against his. He stares at the ceiling for a few minutes as he listens to the soft sound of Hizashi’s singing coming from the kitchen. Its ten minutes later when he finally makes his way out of bed and into the bathroom.
Hizashi is plating up breakfast when he walks into the kitchen. He wraps his arms around him from behind, pressing a kiss to his cheek before resting his chin on the blondes shoulder as he separates the eggs onto two plates, joining the toast that had been placed onto the plates. He lets his arms fall to his side as Hizashi grabs the plates and turns to face him.
Lips are pressed into his as one of the plates is pushed into his hand.
“Good morning Sho” he says as he takes he takes his seat at the table.
“More like good afternoon” he corrects him, sitting down in his seat directly across from him. the conversation is light as they eat, Hizashi telling him about a new American show he wanted them to watch together. Shouta groans loudly, begging him to choose anything else, but Hizashi knows he secretly loves all of the television shows the blonde introduces him to. He even caught him watching one, one night when he was supposed to be working on a case.
When Hizashi smiled knowingly at him a little while later, he turns bright red as says something about how it just so happened to turn on after what he was watching had gone off and how he wasn’t even paying attention.
He still denies it to this day.
After lunch they head into the living room, both of them taking a seat next to each other on the couch as Hizashi gets the show started.
Hizashi leans into Shouta’s side, wrapping one of his arms around the man as the opening scene begins.
It’s a few episodes later when Shouta loses interest in whatever’s happening on the TV. His head is laying on Hizashi’s lap, eyes closed as the blonde man runs his fingers through Shouta’s hair, lightly scratching his scalp in the way he knows Shouta loves.
Hizashi leans down and presses a gently kiss to his husbands lips, when he pulls away, Shouta’s head lifts off his lap, chasing his lips. Hizashi laughs quietly but presses his lips into Shouta’s once again, this time allowing Shouta to deepen the kiss, parting his lips and moaning softly when he feels Shouta’s tongue against his.
