Work Text:

Late at night, Alice walked around the house looking for Wendy who she assumed went to check on the twins. Alice walked up closer hearing muffled voices and objects falling to the floor from the backyard. Her first assumption was the twins were messing around outside because of their odd sleep schedules. She lightly smiled at the thought and walked out to the backyard to tell them to go the fuck to sleep. She froze and almost screamed, biting her tongue and stumbling back slightly seeing her partner scraped up held down nearly being choked on the ground by a large human-like figure.

"Hey!-" Alice's yell was enough to startle the being, making him press an oddly shaped gun to Wendy's head. "Excuse me?" The creature asked as it slowly turned to Alice. Its scalp was covered with 9 red horns, it had no nose, and some garish-looking clothes on and it wasn't alone two identical-looking beings were standing a good distance behind the first. Alice audibly squeaked at their presence leaving a sharp-toothed grin on the being's face. "The twins."

"W-What are…" Alice stammers
"Where are the twins? We know you've kept them here." He asks in a monotone voice with a wide smile still on his face. "Just give us what we ask for and everything will be okay." Alice doesn't believe them for a second her heart pounding in her chest and her thoughts racing in confusion but stepping backwards and putting her hands up she submits. "Calm down, I have no idea where they are right now."

His expression goes neutral and he spits out "Lies." The creature aims the gun away from Wendy and points it down. "Look, we may have come off a tad violent but we just need them to come home." He looks down at Wendy seemingly expecting a conversation. "Y-You know the twins?" Wendy carefully backs away from them. "We're family." The triplets blankly state.

"They said they-" Wendy murmurs before getting cut off. "It's none of your business though is it?" He tosses her to Alice dusting himself off before he'd get closer. "I just care so deeply for my tender broodling," He gives a dramatic groan. "They've run off so many times lately" Alice desperately holds onto Wendy pulling her tightly into a hug and looking up at the men before her, the two behind the first still yet to speak. She held her lover tightly, almost shaking in fear and anger as she looked at the bruises and scrapes on her face and her hands.

"Just take them." Alice says uncertainty, her statement making Wendy gasp slightly "Wait-" "Great! Where are they?" The triplets beam happily. "Alice, you can't!" Wendy attempts to reason with her partner while the triplets group together impatiently. "What choice do we have!?" Alice yells in a panic. "I doubt the rich beloved princes of our home planet who marinate in their royal privileges need your cheap gratitude" the triplets grin as they look away. Alice froze "Princes…" Wendy disregarded the statement, turning to the group to plead with them.

"So what? They're not doing anything wrong so why take them back?" Wendy asks with some odd sense of protection. "We prefer to keep them at home but no they prefer to mess with humans as a silly game." The triplets answer their obvious lies of slander dripping out slowly affecting Alice's temper. "No, they said-" "Yes yes, nobody likes us blah, blah, blah." The triplets roll their eyes. "What are you gonna do when you find them?" Wendy buds in "Ban them from leaving the palace and if we're lucky they'll learn their lesson."

"I'll give them to you." Alice said firmly, making Wendy shakes her head, "No, We can't just sell them out, they trust us!" She pleads. "I'm not gonna get you killed I can't! At least we know they'll be alive." She sobs out in a panicked voice. "But how can we do that?" Wendy clings to Alice. "I don't think you have much of a choice." One of the triplets laughs as he comes forward, extending his hand. "Shall we?" Alice slaps his hand away leading him to the shed door, her heart sinking as she reaches to open it but hears a yell from inside. "We're not going!" One twin shouted from inside. "Get out now! " The triplet shouted banging on the door.

"NOW!" The triplet managed to kick it open, the twins' safe space being turned into another terrible memory like everything else with one twin hiding in the corner curled up into a ball while the other argued with them. "We're not going back, You can't make us go back to that palace!" The twin was cut off with a hard slap across his face making him fall to the floor but the tall alien had no expression and no remorse, no sympathy, not even enjoyment. He'd stomp towards the twin until Alice intervenes.

"Relax, they're just scared-" Alice's pleas get cut off. "Oh don't defend them, earthling." The triplet takes the gun pointing it to Alice's head. "Get out of this thing before you make me do this." The twins are shaking and trembling, one twin is holding his chest tightly as he backs away. Alice wants to risk it; she wants to punch them in the throat for this, she's in tears at this point having to hold everything in as she faces a gun. The two slowly get up holding each other as they exit the area, the triplets pushing them out on the way. "Oh please, you're fine, do you think we hurt you? Are you trying to make them think that, huh?" The triplets scold them as they shove them out.

Alice clenches her fists holding tightly as she watches them get taken away to God knows what. Wendy clings to Alice as this scene plays out both of them engulfed with anger and sadness. As a large red spikey ship comes down halfway extending a long ramp. One of the twins rushes away and hugs Alice and Wendy tightly as he mutters "I'm sorry, thank you, I'm so sorry." Before his brother fearfully tugs him back to the ship They're taken away from their one home and their one family.

As Alice and Wendy watch the ship leave the area they fall to their knees. "I can't believe I let that happen" Alice gasps out and Wendy hugs her tighter "We didn't have a choice." She rubs her arm. "We can't just…" Alice freezes and slowly sobs into her arms.

The twins are slowly going through the rings of space with faces stained with tears and their arms covered in bruises. They lean back into the familiar discomfort and paranoia of their broodlings ship. The triplets slowly approach them "you know how embarrassing that was?" He grabs one of them by the hair and pulls him down to his knees in front of his brother. "Do you want to upset us? Do you just hate us?" He yanks at his hair watching him squirm and he carries no reaction but vague amusement.

"We're sorry," the twins attempt to pull away from them but are met with wack to the chest. "Don't say that, don't you dare lie to your broodling." He pulls them closer holding his face in his firm bloody hands. "What was your plan there? Abandon us and run away to some pathetic excuse of a family? Just tell us you hate us!" He pushes him against the floor, the twin kicks his broodling away and trembles backwards holding his brother. There's some form of rage that slowly boils over into sadness as the triplets slowly hug the two. "You can't do this again, you can't do this to us…" they gently hold the twins. The two begin to sob quietly in this uncomfortable embrace supposed to indulge pity for his family but it angers the twins. They're jealous even that the triplets could throw a tantrum and cry but the twins would die before they could be upset.

The twins slowly pat his broodlings back trying to make the waters calm but they only grip harder growing more upset. The twins feel hopeless, uncomfortable, and scared in their arms, The familiar feeling of home.
