Cat ears

Summary:

Little thought on Lyney's cat ears and how did Aether find it out.

Work Text:

Twins are the same, right? So then we can assume that if Lynette has kitten ears, so does Lyney. Only Lyney or Lynette can confirm this theory, but you won't get an answer from either of them if you ask them.

At first Aether was also intrigued by the question, but after receiving only dismissive replies, his interest faded. If there was such information, Lyney would share it with him anyway.

Twins are the same. So Lyney indeed had cat ears, but he kept them and his curly tail well hidden. In the past, too many eyes were focused on him for his cute accessories rather than his talent, so he's stopped showing them off to the public.

It took a lot of effort to keep up this appearance, which was accompanied by the constant stress of " wondering if anyone had seen it".

Lyney's ears were only visible when he felt safe around someone. That, of course, was Lynette and Freminet. Then, of course, a blonde traveller entered his world, turned it upside down and wrapped Lyney completely around his finger.

At first Lyney was worried about how Aether would react. Would he freak out? But he'd seen Lynette's ears and had no problem with it. Lyney wanted to show his ears, but when it was time to do it, he was so nervous that he couldn't manage it because of the pressure.

It wasn't long before Aether found out on his own that Lyney had ears. And he found this out in the sweetest way possible.

Aether spent most evenings in his teapot, which he showed the twins. Lynette preferred the comfort of her own room, but Lyney accepted the offer to spend a few nights there with the traveler.

The teapot was undergoing a makeover, so they shared Aether's bed. Neither of them had a problem sleeping in a slightly cramped position, having both grown up with twins. Nights went by before the two boys were fully comfortable with each other's closeness, and Lyney didn't change rooms even when the renovations were finished. Nor, of course, did Aether show any sign of minding Lyney's being there. In fact, he was rather glad of it. Since he had been spending his nights with Lyney, he slept more peacefully, without nightmares.

On the other hand, when he got up in the morning, Lyney was usually gone. Aether was always surprised to find this, as Lyney was not an early bird.

On a rainy morning, Aether woke up to find Lyney still lying next to him. Finally having the chance to get a closer look at the sleeping beauty. He gently moved a hair away from his face when he spotted Lyney's cat ears. Aether couldn't help himself and began to stroke it gently. They were incredibly soft!

To Aether's even greater surprise, the gentle caress made Lyney purr. The blond boy couldn't hold back his giggles.

"Just five more minutes..." the catboy muttered, half asleep, not realizing that he was lying next to Aether and that he was the one stroking his ears.
