Appearance |
Izuku is little over average height at 5’8 ¼ (inch and a half shorter than Katsuki) and his at first round face has sharpened up a bit. His face is framed by a short mess of fluffy dark green hair which sticks up at odd angles around his head, casting noticeably dark shadows onto itself making it look darker than it previously was. His eyes were large and somewhat circular, but are now more mature and less round and wide, their irises a light green color. His eyes used to get very watery at times stretched out quite wide, giving him an innocent, energized appearance, but that has lessened to a bit more aloof or tired appearance. He has scattered freckles on each cheek of his face that lessened in noticeability in the years. Though he was initially very skinny, when he started working out he started to gain toned muscles after ten months of extensive training, tasking himself with the job of the Takoba Municipal Beach Park that had accumulated trash coming from the sea for years, turning it from a beautiful beach spot into a trash heap. This was the start of him building up his body while he was still growing his brain. As he workouts and starts self-defense and offensive training it progresses, and his body frame becomes more developed and defined as he gradually grows stronger, leaving him with a very muscular and toned body that's hidden by his clothing. An event with a bully from middle school left the fingers on his right hand slightly deformed, and his hand shows scarring. His right arm was further damaged after being ganged up by a group of kids in junior high leaving even more scars all over it. Following his recovery afterwards, Izuku wears a black compression sleeve on the upper portion of his right arm in order to support the damage it sustained: it is partially visible when he wears short sleeves. During his time in Junior High School, he wore a plain black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons, accompanied by white sneakers. While at home during his Junior High years, he wears a green jinbei over a white shirt and gray sweatpants. In High School he had to wear there standard male uniforms: a muted gray blazer with dark black trimmings over a white dress shirt and dress pants, along with a muted red tie which he doesn't do up properly, leaving it the collar more loose than it should be. He would take out his ear piercings in junior high, he got them done between ages 15-16 the easy ones he did himself the others he got done professionally, but in High School he didn’t care anymore about that and wore them to school, as well as would wear the black nail polish that he liked. He had his lobe, upper lobe, anti-tragus, daith, industrial, and helix pierced which he would change out some earrings but they were all black and black studded. A year before he even started an internship Izuku got a tattoo himself, most notably was the collage of flowers and vines going up his left arm, not completely a sleeve just covering a large portion in black ink, he didn’t want any colors on his tattoos. His employer kept nagging him that he would look good with a tongue piercing, it took a year to convince him to let her give him a tongue piercing. |
Things about this Fic |
Izuku is very sarcastic and will be snarky to villains to antagonize them in fights. Izuku has many scars from his causes of death. There will be BakuDeku, EraserMic, ShinKami, and probably some other included mentioned ships, we will see. Izuku has an extendable baton and uses it like Cat Noir uses his Shinsou is adopted by EaserMic. Eri is a ward of UA at first but EraserMic ends up adopting her as well. Katsuki has really good hacking skills and after he knows Izuku is the vigilante he starts helping by doing things on the technology side that Izuku couldn’t do. Izuku is still really good at analyzing quirks, not like OP at it but he is really good still. Izuku has a really high pain tolerance from all the deaths, oop. Katsuki makes Izuku hang out with him and Shinsou one day, Katsuki just knew that Izuku would be a big fan of Hitoshi’s quirk and that could give both the sarcastic fuckers a new friend. Eventually, Izuku meets Denki then as well, because Shinsou and Denki are dating. One day Denki sneaks Izuku into the dorms so that way Izuku can play video games with him, Shinsou, and Bakugou. Izuku ended up going to sleep in Bakugou's room but snuck out before Katsuki even woke up. << This would have to happen the day after Katsuki found out about Izuku being a vigilante which happened really late at night and the same day of the morning that Aizawa goes to the detective to find the vigilante's identity. Izuku sneaked out to go on an early morning patrol only to run into Eraserhead that’s like, kid I know your name Izuku now and stuff like listen I wanna help you, etc. Izuku can tell there is sentiment but he doesn’t really wanna let down walls again. It had hurt too much already to lose his mom he didn’t want to go through it with another person. That is why he wasn’t letting Bakugou, Shinsou, and Denki in all the way. Only on the surface was he letting them in but he was putting walls up to not get too attached to them. |
Izuku Midoriya, the son and only child of Inko and Hisashi Midoriya. The family always seemed very loving to one another, often spending time with their friends Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugou who have a kid of their own, Katsuki, who’s the same age as Izuku. Even the Bakugou’s believed the family to always be a very loving family, Inko and Izuku thought the same as well, until Izuku was diagnosed quirkless.
Inko had never seen her husband so angry before, this wasn’t a side of him that she knew. Hisashi was furious to hear that his only son was quirkless. He couldn’t have that, no one could know that he, Hisashi Midoriya, has a quirkless son. No. That’s no son of his.
Hisashi grabbed Izuku by his shirt lifting him off the ground a bit causing Inko to shout in worry, “Your no kid of mine, brat.” Hisashi spat out before throwing Izuku to the ground.
“Izuku!” Inko shouted as she ran to her child. She cradled Izuku in her arms making sure that he was okay, Izuku had been knocked out but he was still breathing. She turned to her husband, “Why would you do that?” she demanded to know.
“I can’t have a quirkless kid. No. He must have been diagnosed. I don’t believe it.” that’s all Hisashi grumbled out as he stormed to their shared room slamming the door behind him.
The day made Inko wonder if that was just one time occurrence, when she had returned to her room that night after ensureing Izuku was okay and got him feed and into bed Hisashi was already asleep. Today, Hisashi was acting as if nothing ever happened.
Izuku started being skittish around Hisashi, Inko noticed this as the week went on. She assumed it was because of what happened, she didn’t know that anytime she was at work and Hisashi stayed home that she was returning to a son with bruises hidden under his shirt. Hisashi had started helping out with Izuku, so she had never seen them.
Inko could tell Izuku was always more chipper when Hisashi had to go away for work, it made her sad the rift between her husband and her son but… she’s too scared to mention the day to Hisashi.
It wasn’t until Izuku was seven that Inko had finally learned how Hisashi had been treating her son when he was in town and she went to work. Inko had gotten off work early, it was a rare thing to happen. When she enterned her home she saw her husband brutally kicking her son in his stomach into a wall.
She immediately ran over pushing Hisashi away from Izuku making them both fall to the ground. The two start wrestling for strength over the other, Inko had the advantage at first being on top of Hisashi but eventually he flipped them over and now he was on top of Inko.
“Run! Run Izuku! Run and get help!” Inko yells to her son who’s moaning in pain on the ground.
Inko can see the blood running down Izuku’s head and the blood coming from his mouth, all the scraps and bruises on his arms and face. She can only cry as she struggles to keep Hisashi on her while Izuku with shaky legs start standing and the runs as fast as he can out of the house.
Izuku keeps running out of his house, taking a right down on the street then a left and going to the second house on the left side banging on the door while he cries. He can hear an aggravated voice shout “I’m coming! I’m coming!” before the door is yanked open for Mitsuki Bakugou to see the current state of Izuku. She gasped as Izuku’s legs gave out on him and she quickly reached out to hold him before he could fall to the ground. “Izuku! What happened!?” she cried while laying Izuku down gently so she could run and grab her phone.
“H-Hisashi… you gotta save mom from… Hisas–” Izuku mumbled out.
Mitsuki’s eyes widen, Hisashi what ? She didn’t have time she had to dial for the police to send the cops to the Midoriya’s as well an an ambulance there and to her house. The call went really quick but Mitsuki’s shouting got the attention of the other house members.
Masaru walks over with Katsuki standing at his side, Masaru starts to ask what’s going on when him and Katsuki take in the sight of Izuku. “Deku!” Katsuki shouts running over to Izuku’s side. He looks up at his mom, “What happened!?” he demands.
“I don’t know exactly but the ambulance and police are on there way.” Mitsuki tells him.
It didn’t take very long for an ambulance to show up at the Bakugou’s and they saw the cops and other ambulance rushing past there’s to the Midoriya home. They put Izuku on a stretcher, Masaru and Katsuki rode with Izuku to the hospital while Mitsuki ran to the Midoriya’s to check on Inko. When she arrived Inko was also being put in the back of an ambulance on a stretcher. She runs over explaining who she is and get’s in the back of the ambulance to ride with Inko to the hospital.
Izuku was left with a few fractures, broken bones, a few deep gashes, and a lot of bruises. He would have to stay in the hospital for two week and go through physical therapy, but overall he will physically recover. Inko’s superficial injuries weren’t as bad as Izuku but was still littered in bruises and a few cuts. What really concerned the doctors was the undeterminable extent of damage that was caused to Inko’s brain. The doctors believe there’s a good chance that Inko will make a full recovery but there are concerns if future problems will arise if there’s changes in her health.
Inko filed charges against Hisashi as well as filed for a divorce, except there was a problem. Hisashi had left the scene before the police could arrive so when they showed up Hisashi was no where to be found. The police believe he found a way back to America before they were able to put him in the system.
The Bakugou’s would come to visit the mother and son during all the visit hours they could, the parents even noticed that Katsuki seemed to be making an effort to fix whatever he had done to strain there friendship. The parents didn’t know what had happened, but they knew the two had stopped being as close as they were. Eventually, Inko and Izuku were both discharged and were able to return home.
Except, they didn’t want to live in their home anymore.
All the place represented now for them was one of bad memories.
So Mitsuki suggests that Inko and Izuku stay the night over at there’s until they can find a new place. Inko didn’t want to put Mitsuki out or feel like she was using her but after discussing everything over, Mitsuki convinces Inko to agree. They pack up what they need for now and the two spend the night at the Bakugou’s.
The next day Inko and the Bakugou’s are house hunting, looking for a new home for Izuku and Inko. It actually only took a few weeks to find one that still in the same neighboorhood as the Bakugou’s and within the week they were moved in. They were now literally next door neighboors to the Bakugou’s, Izuku and Katsuki could both look through there bedroom windows to see one another.
Izuku had also decided to switch to online school, after what happened with Hisashi not only did Izuku tell her what happened with Hisashi when she was away but to his surprise; Katsuki prompt him to tell her about the discrimination and bullying from students and teachers alike at school. This made Mitsuki decided to also put Katsuki into online school to take him away from the enviornment after Katsuki shockingly admitted to being a part of the bulling.
The parents also thought it would be a good idea to but the boys in therapy, they didn’t want them to think they were saying anything was wrong with them but explain it can help them in ways they wouldn’t think. It took a lot of convincing, especially with Katsuki, but the boys agreed to go to therapy.
Mitsuki didn’t expect it to lead to her parenting style being questioned though, she can later admit that she was very stubborn at first but she could see where she had taken things in a direction she hadn’t meant with her son causing mental turmoil even if she didn’t intend to. It was explained to her though that the difference about her and others like that is that she actually started putting effort towards changing her ways to better be there and support her son.
Izuku and Katsuki hadn’t talked about things really, but they would hang out a lot together riding skate boards, playing video games, talking about heroes, and they started doing there school work together as well. They also figured out that they were both working on learning JSL and decided after they had it all learned they would then learn ASL.
They would also start a routine schedule with each other for morning runs, workout, and training sessions. If they wanted to be heroes, they would need the strength and fighting ability for it. Katsuki was a bit hesitant, worrying about how Izuku would manage, but then Izuku had pinned him to the ground and well. Time to go all out.
When there last year at Aldera came around, Izuku and Katsuki decided they wanted to go back to in-person school to get used to it once more before going into highschool. Most highschools offered hero course classes as electives if you plan to enter in a Hero University School. The boys plan to take those hero course classes so they would need to get used to going to school again.
Living next to each other and having matching schedules, it gave Izuku and Katsuki a lot more opportunities to talk about important things with each other. Except that importgant conversation they needed to have wouldn’t happen until a few weeks before their last day at Aldera.
Izuku could see that he was getting frustrated with something at school but Katsuki wouldn’t talk to him about it.
Then he remembered who he was to Katsuki, “sorry I forget sometimes that you hate me.” Izuku said with a sigh after having tried to ask Katsuki what was going on with him again.
This made Katsuki turn around so fast it made Izuku jump a little, “Why the hell do you think that!?” he asks.
“Well… I mean based on out history…” Izuku started out.
“None of the crappy things I’ve said meant I hated your scrawny ass.” Katsuki tells him.
“Was it… really just because I’m quirkless then?” Izuku asked.
“No!” Katsuki shouted, “I mean…” getting a little softer, “No. That may have played a part but I don’t care that your quirkless De-Izuku.” Katsuki tells him.
Izuku’s eyes widen at the ude of his first name, “I’ve told you that you can still say Deku you know… I mean yeah it’s kinda mean the way other people say it but for you, I don’t mine. It’s more just like a nickname, like how I call you Kacchan as a nickname.” Izuku explains.
Katsuki tched at that, “Whatever.”
“You said to stop thinking you hated me, and if it’s not because I’m quirkless then… what’s going on Kacchan?” Izuku asked.
Katsuki sighed, finally taking a seat on the bed with Izuku after having been pacing backing forth the whole time. “You remember when I feel off that log and you came down to help me?” he asked.
Izuku raises a brow at that, “Yeah?”
“I think I know, logically, that it’s just you being you. You always want to reach a helping hand out even at the sake of yourself. But at the time, it felt like you were looking down on me. I hated it. I couldn’t accept the way you were. I tried to act all superior by rejecting you, but I kept losing that fight clearly. I’ve always been told how great I am, but I’ve never actually felt like I’m that amazing or anything but I know that’s what’s expected of me. So I have to make sure I’m pushing myself, that I AM the strongest. Going back to school, seeing other’s displays of quirks, even if I didn’t feel like I was the best I’ve always been told I am but I just feel like all I’m seeing it how weak I really am. Shit, if I don’t use my quirk you’ll beat my ass in a spar and were neck and neck on academics.” Katsuki groaned plopping backwards into the bed he sat on. “I don’t know how well of an explanation that is but I know it doesn’t excuse any of the shit I’ve done to you.” Katsuki sighed before sitting up and looking Izuku in his eyes, “Izuku, I’m sorry for how treated you.”
With that, the dam known as Izuku’s waterfall of tears was broken.
Katsuki and Izuku’s friendship seemed to be even stronger than before, and no one really knew why. It wasn’t really anyone business why anyways. Except this is what Izuku needed the most when Mitsuki would check the two boys out of school early one day to take them to the hospital with them to see Inko.
Inko had collapsed while at work, those possible future medical problems the doctors believed wouldn’t occur had occurred. Inko was now staying at the hospital to be watched after, Izuku would sleep over at the Bakugou’s for now while Inko is there. Izuku would go to visit with her everyday and sometimes the Bakugou’s or just Katsuki came along as well.
Then it was the last week of school, Izuku was on his way to the hospital after school. It was Katsuki’s assigned day to pick up the classroom when everyone left so he told Izuku to go ahead without him. But that meant Katsuki wasn’t around for when one of the students tossed Izuku’s most current hero notebook out the window before telling him to “Take a swan-dive off the roof of the building and pray for a quirk in your next life.”
Izuku was too caught up in his brain on the day so he didn’t even hear it at first, but when he did, he turned around to see sludge compiling itself as it towered over him.
If he hadn’t been caught so off guard in his thoughts maybe he would have started running sooner as the Sludge Villain says “A medium-sized invisibility cloak…” The villain lunged at him and started to engulf itself around him and made its way to push its fluid body into him through his nose and mouth. Izuku started to struggle to breathe and clawed at the sludge part over his mouth as his vision started to blur. “You can’t grab me. I’m fluid! Thanks for your help. You’re my hero.” the villain said with a laugh, “I didn’t think that had come to this city.” he mumbled out.
My body… There’s no strength…
I’m dying… Am I dying?
I’m dying…
He felt like he was losing conciseness when suddenly he heard a deep loud voice but couldn’t make out the words. There was a large pressure that sent the villain off of Izuku and freed him, the pressure sent him the opposite way of the villain on the ground. That’s when Izuku is able to look up and see who his savior is, it’s the one and only All Might, the Number One Pro Hero he has looked up to since he was a kid. All Might gather the villain into a soda bottle.
“It’s all right now, young man. I am here! I’m glad you’re okay!” the hero exclaimed. “Sorry ‘bout getting you caught up in my villain fighting. I don’t usually make mistakes like this, but I was in high spirits on my day off in a new place. Hahahaha! But you were a big help. Thanks!” All Might holds up the bottle with the captured Sludge Villain, “I captured him safely! Well, I need to take this guy to the police. See you again on the other side of the screen!”
“Wait, already?” Izuku asks, All Might had rambled on he hadn’t gotten a word in edge-wise.
“Pros are constantly fighting enemies and time.” All Might tells him. “Well then…” he starts out.
Izuku gritted his teeth, I get that but..Wait… There are still things I want to ask…
“… I’m counting on your continued support!” All Might jumps into the air, not realizing that Izuku had grabbed a hold of his leg when he did.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! Let go of me! Your fanaticism is too much!” All Might exclaimed, freaked out that a fan would grab a hold of him when he was jumping away.
“If I… let go now… I’ll… I’ll die…!” Izuku managed out through the high-pressure winds.
“Ah… That’s true.” All Might realizes.
“I-I-I-I… have… a l-l-lot of things… I want to ask you directly!” Izuku exclaims.
“Okay, okay! I got it, so close your eyes and mouth!” All Might tells him.
Izuku closes his eyes and mouth hiding his face into All Might’s leg that he’s clinging on to. “Phew…” All Might let out quietly when he then coughs with a bit of blood coming from his mouth. Shit…
All Might and Izuku land on the roof of a building, “If you talk to the people downstairs, I’m sure they’ll let you down. I am seriously out of time, so I really must go.” All Might says as he begins walking towards the edge of the building.
Izuku reaches out towards All Might, “Wait!” he exclaimed.
“No! I will not wait!” All Might responds.
Izuku couldn’t help but flashback to all the cruel things said to him, still on a one-track mind he asked “Even if I don’t have a Quirk, can I become a hero?” he didn’t notice All Might freezing at the edge of the building. “Can even someone without a Quirk be like you?” he asks. Despite everything… I still dream… I have to know. “Is it possible to become a hero even if I don’t have a Quirk? I’m a normal kid without any powers… Could I ever hope to be someone like you?!” he exclaims his questions.
“Without a Quirk?” All Might ask when a shock runs through his body. “Erk! Urgh… Ngh… Guh… Urgh…” he grunts out quietly. Oh, no… Not now… Dammit! Not here!
“People think I don’t have a chance… and not having any powers makes me some kind of weakling. My classmates like to make fun of me. But ever since I was a kid, I’ve thought that saving people is the coolest thing you can do. I want people to see my fearless smile and feel safe… and be the kind of hero everyone in the world looks up to… just like you!” Izuku explains and when he finishes there’s suddenly a stream of smoke.
The stream of smoke cleared to reveal, “Ah… I… Wait… Who… What happened?! You deflated! Ah! Where’d All Might go? You… You’re not him! You’re a fake! An imposter!” Izuku exclaimed.
All Might grunted in pain a bit, “I assure you that I am All –” he spits up a bunch of blood.
“H-how..? This can’t be real, I must still be asleep! All Might’s a giant of a man who saves everyone and defeats all obstacles, he wins the day with a fearless smile!” Izuku exclaimed.
“Haa… There’s plenty of fear behind that smile. I’m counting on you to keep your mouth shut. Don’t go talking about this online or telling your friends.” All Might pull up his shirt to reveal a large wound on his chest. “Pretty gross right?” he puts his shirt back down, “I got this in a big fight five years back. My respiratory system was basically destroyed. I lost my whole stomach. All the surgeries have pretty much worn me out, and it can’t be fixed. Right now I can only do hero work for about three hours a day. Rest of the time, this is what I look like.” he explains.
“Five years ago? So does that mean it was the fight with Toxic Chainsaw?” Izuku asks.
“Wow, you know your stuff. But no. The punk may have landed some hits, but he couldn’t bring me down. Most of the world has never heard of this fight. I did everything I could to keep it under wraps. I’m supposed to be the guy who’s always smiling, right? I’m the symbol of peace. People everywhere have to think that I’m never afraid. But honestly, I smile to hide the fear inside. It’s just a brave face I put on when the pressure is high. This job isn’t easy.” All Might sighs, “ Pro heroes are always having to risk their lives. Some villains just can’t be beaten without powers. So no, I honestly don’t think you could become a hero without a Quirk. If you want to help people, there are plenty of other ways to do it. You could become a police officer.” All Might start walking off, “They get crap because the heroes capture most of the villains, but it’s a fine profession. It’s not bad to have a dream, young man. Just… make sure your dreams are attainable. Realistic. Understand?” With that last statement, All Might open the roof access door and leaves the roof.
On the roof, Izuku just tries to process what his idol just told him when he hears an explosion from the rooftop. He quickly changes into his vigilante suit, if you can call it that, and rushes towards the exit. Then Izuku remembers All Might's statement, “ Some villains just can’t be beaten without powers. So no, I honestly don’t think you could become a hero without a Quirk. ” That slowed him down.
On the streets below All Might runs through the streets in his civilian form. In the Tatooin Shopping District, civilians run as explosions occur. “It’s a monster!” a civilian shouts.
The Pro HeroDeath Arms and two other heroes arrive on the scene. “Ngh…” Death Arms grunts. Slugger and Hitchcock are also grunting in their struggle against the sludge villain who’s holding a kid in his grip. “It’s taken someone hostage! How dare you prey on a child!” Death Arms exclaims as he charges forward and punches the Sludge Villain. The villain just slightly chuckles as Death Arn’s hand is pulled into the Sludge Villain. “Ngh… What the hell is this?! Some kind of goo?” he questions. The Sludge Villain kicks Death Arms away.
“You okay, Death Arms?!” Hitchcock asks.
“Heads up!” Slugger shouts.
The Sludge Villain attacks the other two heroes and they dodge the attack. “Heh… Stay back or I’ll snap his neck!” the villain shouts.
The civilian in his grip continues to struggle against the villain “You picked the wrong guy to mess with! I’m going to send you back to whatever sewer you crawled out of! Ugh… Let me go!!” he shouts. He creates explosions with his hands to fight back against the villain.
“You’ve got so much power! I really hit the jackpot! With a Quirk like yours under my control, I can take All Might down with one punch!” the villain shouted and started to become even larger.
“Woah, is that some kind of special move? This dude is a legit supervillain.” a civilian commented.
“Ah… It’s her! That new hero Mt. Lady will show him!” another civilian shouts.
Mt. Lady runs toward the scene but stops in her tracks. “Ah… My only weakness! I need at least a two-lane road if I’m gonna make my way through here!” she exclaims.
“Fire and wood don’t exactly make a good combination! I’ll let someone else stop this guy.” Kamui Woods comments arriving on the scene.
“Don’t look at me! I’ve got my hands full here! Where are those fire trucks? Can you guys get to him?” Backdraft shouts as he fights the nearby fires.
“Can’t get a grip on his weird body, plus that kid’s Quirk’s causing explosions left and right!” Death Arms shouts.
“This is a shutout! We’ve gotta rally and knock him out of the park somehow!” Slugger comments.
The Sludge Villain begins to swallow its hostage while laughing, the villain swings at Death Arms and the other hero.
“Incoming!” shouts Hitchcock.
Death Arms and the other heroes dodge the attack, “It’s no good! None of us have the right Quirks to stop a villain like this!” Death Arms shouts.
“We’ll do damage control until someone with the right powers shows up!” Hitchcock responds.
“There are still plenty of people to save!” shouts Backdraft.
“Don’t worry! I bet every person in the city is coming!” Kamui Woods shouts.
I’m sorry, kid. You’ll just have to hold on a little bit longer! “Grr… Damn! If I only had more power, I could blow this guy away!” Death Arms shouts.
“Uhh, this looks bad. Maybe we should run?” a civilian comments.
All Might in his civilian form is now arriving at the scene.
“Come on, heroes! You’ve got this!”
Must’ve dropped him in the air. All Might thinks back to when the kid had grabbed onto his leg. I was distracted, worrying about my time limit! I can’t believe I made such a rookie mistake. And after lecturing that kid about what it takes to be a hero! I’m pathetic!
Back on the streets, Izuku is still walking around in his thoughts, Even All Might said it. A hero needs a Quirk. Deep down, you knew this, all along… You’ve just been avoiding reality. That’s why you were trying so desperately to prove yourself wrong. There’s an explosion that shakes the area taking Izuku out of his train of thought. That’s strange. Is the fight from earlier still going on? Why am I here? Did I subconsciously walk this way to check it out? I shouldn’t even stop. All my notes are useless… Then Izuku is able to really see the scene, It’s the guy who attacked me! That can’t be right… All Might capture him! But the bottle… If he dropped it… that means… It’s my fault…
“Why aren’t the heroes doing anything? It looks like they’ve met their match, plus the villain captured a kid. Things aren’t looking good for him.” civilians comment
He caught someone? I wonder how long they’ve been in there. How can they survive being suffocated like that? I thought I’d die after only a few seconds of struggling. Oh, man… Izuku thinks to himself.
“Wait, I’m confused. Isn’t that the villain All Might was chasing earlier today?” a civilian voices.
“What? All Might? No way he lost! Where is he?” another civilian says
“Well, can someone call him or something?” a civilian asks.
“Seriously! Why hasn’t he showed up to help the heroes?!” a civilian exclaims.
I’m the one to blame. He wasted his energy on me… Izuku tells himself.
I’m worthless… All Might tells himself.
He can’t power up yet… and none of the other heroes have the Quirks to stop this monster… Izuku says to himself
So pathetic…! All Might says internally.
It’s my fault… I’m sorry… So sorry! Izuku exclaims in his head.
A disgrace…! All Might can’t help but think.
Help will show up and save the day, I’m sure. Izuku tries telling himself.
I’m not a real hero! All Might says to himself.
Someone… A real hero will come soon… Izuku says internally.
The Sludge Villain is still trying to strangle the civilian in his grasp, and that’s when Izuku locks eyes with the fearful eyes of the civilian.
Izuku starts running towards the Sludge Villain.
Everyone, All Might, and all the heroes, they shout out to Izuku. “No, you idiot! Stop! You’re gonna get yourself killed!” Death Arms shouts.
“Not this brat again!” the Sludge Villain exclaimed.
“Deku?” the civilian, no Katsuki Bakugou, or to Izuku… Kacchan questioned.
What am I doing? Why am I running?! Why can’t I stop?! Izuku thinks to himself
“You’re toast, kid!” the Sludge Villain shouts as it prepares to attack Izuku who’s running forward.
What do I do? I just ran in without thinking of a plan first! Izuku thinks but then he remembers his notes, Page 25! Right! “Ngh… Take this!” Izuku shouts as he throws his backpack making his supplies and accumulation of notebooks to fly out and hit the Sludge in their face.
“Ngh… Urahhh… Urahhh!” the Sludge Villain exclaimed, but the action released Katsuki’s face from the Sludge Villain for him to catch and struggle for air.
“Urgh!” Izuku grunts as he begins clawing at the Sludge Villain’s body.
“What are you doing Deku?!” Katsuki exclaimed.
“My legs… They just started moving!” Izuku tells him as he finally yanks Katsuki out of the Sludge’s grasp. Izuku smiles tiredly at Katsuki who’s eyes just show confusion and concern behind the glaring anger.
The Sludge Villain is preparing to attack both the boys now, All Might watching thinks to himself I have to do something… no matter the cost! Urgh! As his body starts to grow stronger.
“You brat! I’m not done playing!” the Sludge Villain exclaimed.
The Sludge Villain goes into attack and there’s a large explosion. “I really am pathetic.” All Might’s voice comes through and he blocks the Sludge Villain’s attack.
All Might.. But how… Izuku couldn’t help but wonder.
“I told you the traits to make a great champion… but I see now I wasn’t living up to my own ideal! Pros are always risking their lives! That’s the true test of a hero!” All Might exclaims pulling Izuku and Katsuki further away from harm.
“Damn you, All Might!” the sludge Villain exclaims.
“Detroit Smash!!” All Might exclaims as he punches the Sludge Villain, blasting through its body entirely while Mt. Lady protects the civilians and heroes. All Might’s attack finally dissipates leaving All Might breathing heavily as rain beings to fall.
“Oh? It’s raining.” a civilian comments.
“Don’t tell me all that wind just now was…” a civilian starts.
“Look at the clouds. They’re moving…” another civilian says.
“Ah… Holy crap. He changed the weather.” Death Arms states shocked.
All Might smiles at the crowd.
“That really just happened?” a civilian questioned.
“Yeah!!”
“He changed the weather with a single punch like it was nothing!”
“All Might saved the day again! He’s amazing!”
“Yeah”
The civilians continued cheering, All Might wobbled slightly but raised a fist in the air making the crowd start cheering even louder. After that, the heroes collected all the scattered mounds of sludge, and the villain went into police custody where he belonged.
All Might had to hurry and leave the scene before he reverted to his true form, I’m gonna have to find that kind and first apologize and then thank him. I wish I had gotten the kid's name. I know Nighteye wanted me to meet Mirio but maybe this boy… I’ll have to find him when he gets away from the public's eye. All Might thinks to himself leaving the scene.
Sometime later from that, Death Arms and Kamui Woods scolded Izuku. “You moron! Do you have a death wish?” Kamui exclaimed.
“There was absolutely no reason for you to put yourself in danger like that!” Death Arms shouted at him.
While Izuku was being chewed out by the heroes, Katsuki was being praised for his bravery.
“Man, you’re tough, kid! And that Quirk is something else! When you wanna go pro, head over to my agency first! I’d love for you to be my sidekick while you’re training!” Hitchcock tells him.
Izuku didn’t hear a lot of it because of the heroes scolding him though. By the time they were done, Katsuki was still being checked over so Izuku decided to go ahead to make his way to the hospital to visit with his mother like he was originally on his way to do.
Izuku arrived at the hospital only to be informed of her death, they eventually left him in a room only to grieve after he went to physically see his mother. No one noticed Izuku stepping out of the room and headed down the hallway to the door that opened to the stairs leading to the roof.
Izuku went to the roof of the hospital, he felt like he had nothing else to live for, so he jumped. Since he was at the hospital his body was found pretty quickly and nurses and doctors had to sadly take Izuku to the morgue like his mother.
Then Izuku woke up, it was dark, there wasn't much room and he eventually realized he was naked with a sheet over him on cold metal. He moved around so much that there was sudden light he tilted his head toward it and saw an exit saw he crawled out promptly following on the floor.
He grabbed the sheet to cover himself as he stood up, after that then he looked around his surrounding to see where he was. He was in a morgue. He looked around the room and found the door leading out of the room, peeking out there didn’t seem to be anybody and he spotted a door with a small sign above it that read exit in all capital letters glowing red. Izuku quickly made a run for the exit and got out of the building. It was a side entrance to a parking lot apparently so ducked in case there was someone outside as he went around the back of the hospital building.
Izuku kept himself in wooded areas behind buildings until out of pure luck he ended up behind a store that sold clothes. It was closed of course, but there was a window Izuku could push the dumpster over to stand on to crawl through it. Luckily the plan worked and Izuku got in and grabbed the first black pullover hoodie he saw and a pair of pants that looked like they would fit, they apparently did so after throwing those on he climbed back out the window making sure to take the sheet with him and got as far away from the building as possible. Izuku slept on a bench in a small, sorta hidden, park not frequented anymore that night.
Izuku knows he’s legally dead, and his moms is gone now. So he doesn’t see a reason to go up to the hospital and be like oh hey by the way I’m not dead. So he wanders around. Homeless now. Sleeping in places where he can as he’s always on the move when others show up where he’s stopped to take a rest. Eating what he can manage to buy with loose money he finds on the streets or has to sit out and beg for like any other homeless person.
Izuku tests to see if he can die a few more times and they all failed so he kinda gave up on that, he noticed he is still aging though, and still gets hungry and tired. Really tired sometimes even.
It doesn’t take long living on the streets to encounter some dangerous situations which is what starts Izuku’s accidental vigilantism. He helped a few people and then it turned into a routine of being on the lookout for anyone that needs help, eventually he realizes and accepts that he’s become a vigilante. Oops.
But it made him realize it wasn’t too bad of an idea since he can’t be a legal hero when he’s legally dead. That’s the start of Izuku actually starting to take things seriously. He came across Takoba Municipal Beach Park and started cleaning it up to bulk muscle, found an abandoned apartment complex, and just makes himself home in one of the rooms b/c water and power hadn’t been cut off for some reason but he was thankful either way.
He had always been improvising on weapons but he figures something to restrain assailants would be helpful to carry around and the first aid for anyone injured, maybe a few hidden weapons just in case as well. There was a technology store that had thrown out a perfectly good laptop for some reason so Izuku took himself upon the gracious offering left there :) lol and started researching fighting styles.
At seventeen he realized he should probably start doing something to get pocket money, so he gets a job. He dyes his hair black as a disguise for this in case anyone recognized him as Izuku and went with permanent since it didn’t really matter if he didn’t have his natural color anymore and it would make it less often he would have to buy hair dye.
He had made a lot of connections living on the streets, which is how he gets a fake ID made with the name Mikumo Akatani. Mikumo had black hair, not green. Having an ID made it easier for Izuku to get a job at a coffee shop that was hiring. Everything carried on pretty decently without and hiccups.
That is until almost two years later when Katsuki Bakugou walks into the coffee shop on his way to school that Izuku worked at. Katsuki immediately recognizes Izuku even with the dyed hair. At least Katsuki has enough sense not to shout out loud about how Izuku is legally dead. Well shit. Luckily Katsuki has to go to school but he made Izuku exchange numbers with him, which Izuku only got for work in the first place, and told him he would be back after school and Izuku better be there. They end up talking. This is when Katsuki shouts at Izuku about how he is supposed to be legally dead. Well, not really shout because they didn’t need anyone asking them questions.
Izuku doesn’t tell Katsuki of his vigilante activities but he does express that he would much rather Katsuki keep it a secret, which Katsuki did not want to agree to at first but then thinking about would rather Izuku has some peace in his life, so if this is what it took then okay.
Then literally not even a month later Izuku ends up with Katsuki’s homeroom teacher Shouta Aizawa, also known as the Underground Pro Hero Eraserhead, trying to catch him.
Aizawa starts learning things about this vigilante and gets a bit attached when they start to form a sort of trust.
Izuku saves Iida from Stain.
Izuku saves Kota at Traning Camp.
Izuku helps save Bakugou at Kamino.
Izuku helps save Eri.
Aizawa ends up seeing the vigilante die and freaks out and is sad ofc, Then the vigilante revives and he’s like tf?
The next day on the roof Aizawa comes across the vigilante with his mask lifted up with one hand while the other holds a thin device to his mouth. Aizawa realizes what the device is when he sees the vigilante exhale smoke and comments about how nicotine can kill you and the vigilante retorts back Does it matter if I’m already dead, before explaining it’s THC, not nicotine? Aizawa sighs at that, problem child. Vigilante responds with how do you know I’m a child, I could just be really short. Aizawa is like, no you are a child using a voice modulator, I don’t know how old exactly but If I was to guess I would say around my student's age you're just as you said, short. Vigilante shouts back not to call him short just because he said it himself.
Something is going to happen when Izuku does an identity reveal by running into Izuku in vigilante gear injured and passes out. Katsuki freaks out not feeling a pulse for a moment and then it comes back but the vigilante is still out cold.
Katsuki didn’t know what else to do but sneak him into his dorm room for the guy to rest. Vigilante wakes up in Katsuki’s room, Izukus reveal happens, there's a knock at the door and Izuku scurries to return his mask to his face when in walks Aizawa saying he heard a commotion in Katsuki’s room only to stare at vigilante in bloody clothes on Katsuki’s bed. Aizawa just sighs, what’s going on problem children? Ummmm, Katsuki blanked. I passed out and Kacchan brought me here to rest a bit, Izuku quickly explained. But then realized his slip up when Katsuki turns to him with an angry expression yelling, you dumbass! Aizawa questions the name and basically, they both refuse to say anything, and Aizawa's like fine keep your secrets. In the morning Aizawa goes to the detective and uses the fact that Bakugou knows vigilante to find the name Izuku Midoriya and that's when other pieces of this vigilante puzzle fell into place for Aizawa.
Basically in this fic Aizawa and Katsuki are trying to make vigilante Izuku realize it’s okay to let those walls down and really make bonds again. Sometimes we lose people and it hurts but at least we got to have them in our lives while we did. Also makes him realize he does have things to live for, like keeping the memory of his mother and others alive with him. Getting Izuku to accept that it’s okay for him to accept help and for him to be happy, that he deserves it. There is also involvement with Yagi where he wishes to apologize to Izuku and when they finally get to talk he also tells him about OFA and wishes to pass it on to Izuku.
