Work Text:

“You’re good at bandaging stuff.” Bennett remarked. Collei stiffened, averting her eyes for a moment before smiling.

“You get used to it.” She shrugged, before they both jolted at their partners very-not-discreet yell.

“Ugh!” They shrieked. “Zis is- Fischl is starving!”

Collei giggled, which earned her a mild glare from the other.

“Would Collei like to not eat for the whole day?!” Fischl huffed, pointing a finger at her accusingly. Collei blinked, before giving her partner a shit-eating grin.

“A day? That’s nothing. You’ll have to try harder than that.” She chirped, watching Fischl redden and burst into stutters.

“That’s not- Fischl didn’t mean-“ Collei only laughed at their immediate flustered response as Fischl attempted to clarify. Xey looked away, folding their arms. “That was not very nice.”

“…Razors confused.” The other boy frowned. “Why does Collei joke about…not eating? If Miss Fischl is hungry, she can have what Razor brought…”

Fischl snapped her head over, practically pouncing him. “You had food this whole time?!”

“I dunno, you’ve got all the food you need right here…” Collei muttered, resulting in a sharp, surprised laugh from Bennett, and two other looks of confusion.

“…Did you bring food as well, Collei..?” Fischl frowned. Collei giggled.

“That’s…not what I meant.” Collei turned her gaze back to Bennett. “And you, sir, need to be more careful.”

“He cannot control it, Madam Collei, thou knows this!” Fischl cried. Razor nodded. “Although- does thy Bennett not have shots due later?”

Bennett blinked. He nodded sheepishly, smiling in the same manner. “Yeah, I do.”

“Hmrph.” Fischl nodded. “Might Collei be accompanying you this time, no?” Collei paled, shaking her head vigorously.

“I mean…she doesn’t have to-“

“I don’t like the needles.” Razor muttered. Collei nodded.

“No needles.” She said swiftly. “Absolutely not. Um- sorry, Bennett.”

Bennett exchanged a look with Fischl, before smiling awkwardly, shrugging. “‘S alright. I don’t really need company, I have to do it all the time anyways.”

“If I may ask-“ Collei frowned. “What are they for?”

Razor looked up when Collei spoke, and Fischl paused at her question.

“….am I supposed to know?” She tilted her head, voice squeaking. Bennett shook his head- he seemed mildly amused.

“Oh, I didn’t tell you? Just testosterone shots.” He shrugged. Collei raised her eyebrows and nodded in understanding.

“Oh, alright.”

“If you’re still hungry, Fischl-“ Bennett thought for a moment. “I think there are some sunsettia trees thataway.” He gestured behind him. Their eyes glittered as she jumped up, placing her hands upon her hips as if triumphant.

“Well!” They grinned. “One cannot just leave thou all here, no? You are all coming with me.”

“Do we get a choice?” Collei smiled, but he stood up anyways.

“Of course not!”

“Figures.”

“Would thou like a choice?”

“It’s fine.”

“—obviously, I’m gonna pound him to a pulp the next time I see him, I swear!” Collei huffed, finishing her tangent on whatever Cyno had done now, shoveling down pieces of fruit as if she hadn’t eaten in months. Bennett snorted.

“Slow down! You’re gonna choke!” Fischl snapped. Collei frowned.

“Choke on this.” He flipped them off as Fischl erupted into an exaggerated gasp, throwing the rest of her berries at him.

“Foul wretched pathetical nit.” Fischl spat, to which Collei sputtered;

“What?!”

“She says fuck you.” Razor piped up, and after a mildly surprised look in the others direction, Bennett nodded.

“Well- well, I got that!” He stared at her ludicrously. “I just- wasn’t expecting them to word it like that!”

“Thou should be accustomed to thy Princesszins couched phrases.” Fischl huffed. Bennett gave them an amused look. Collei rolled her eyes, no real ill intent present. Razor snickered to themself.

“Couched?” Bennett blinked. “What does that even mean?”

“I think they’ve benched us.”

“Huh?”

“We’re on the bench. No longer in the game.”

“What??”

Collei grinned. Fischl sighed, shaking her head.

“Do you think if we went that way Benny would fall off the cliff?” Collei gestured behind him. Bennett grimaced.

“Yes.”

“Cool. Come on-!”

She grabbed him before he could respond, grinning as she dashed off.

Fischl stared for a moment, before stumbling onto her feet and yelping to Razor as she scrambled after the pair.
