Work Text:

They say that the moon shone so brightly the day that he was born, that his fur soaked up the very rays beaming down upon him and that the essence of her brilliant light cursed him to a horrible fate called life. Shigaraki Tenko, born Shimura Tomura, knew more than any other just how cruel life could be. Fate had cursed him from the very day that he was born into a pack that more than believed in the old world fates and abandoned him, all for the sake of those long forgotten traditions, without hesitation, hardly before he’d been old enough to truly stray from his mothers warm embrace

A fragile pup born from the alpha leader and his pair bonded beta mate of their pack, his place should have been more than secured long before his birth and well before even his scent turned to reveal that he would grow, if allowed, into a rare and fertile omega. His future survival should have been all but secured, but fate had marked him as the pack had seen, in a way that he could never hope to hide and traditions born long before he was, had thoroughly sealed his fate with the glowing bright white fur of his form. Those born to the moon and cursed by her touch were to be avoided, shunned and left behind so that she could continue to guide them towards success without other lights to send them astray. Abandonment was commonplace but far less cruel then the old ways usual method of getting rid of unwanted pups, moontouched or sickly as he also tended to be, at least as some saw it. He supposes that he should be grateful that they saw fit to allow him a chance to at least somewhat wean before tearing him from the pack's safety but is it really a mercy when you can barely survive and have nothing left to help you. Memories only there to serve as a painful reminder to what you’ve lost for no discernible reason

He knew better now then he did back then and maybe that’s why he’s only just figuring it out. A fragile frail pup wouldn't have fought so hard for survival if they knew what awaited them as they attempted to grow. Abandoned by his pack so young, not all that long after his birth. He was sickly and small, weak and an omega, facts that hadn’t at all changed much as he’d fought and struggled to survive and attempted to thrive in a forest full of barren unending land. An omega yes, a blessing no. He was far too bright a colour to ever be risked and though he'd beaten out every odd that stood against him his entire life, to continue surviving right up till this very moment. Where he finds himself in trouble, yet again. He can only feel like even more of a curse than his existence has always been, as he runs on pure instinct through the clogging trees

Years had brought him a scrappiness and tenacity for survival, keen instincts and the matching stamina needed to run, the small malnourished size to hide. Even half starved as he is, bony enough that trading skin for fur would only make him look like an easier target, he is quick and light on his feet. More like prey with the way his heart beats like a rabbits in his fragile chest as he skims easily around a tree side, using the tricks he’d seen every large deer that ever managed to get away from him use, narrowly avoiding the snap of sharp fanged jaws pursuing him. Jagged teeth made to maul, just toying with him for now. Leading him somewhere with each lunged snap of teeth or claws, forcefully guiding him towards a path he cannot change. Each attempted twist or turn in the direction they are not guiding him is met with a harsher more direct attack, until he has no choice but to dash along the invisible path created before him. With no chance to stray from it

Without a pack, he makes for an easy target. He knows it and yet he cannot change it. One glance at the colour of his fur and he can never hope to hide the reason why he has no place to call his own, despite the valuable status in his blood, the title of omega, that so few were’s especially wolves wear. His darn fur, it had been the glimmer of its bright sheen that had caught him up in this mess yet again, always seeming to glow so much brighter at the worst of inconveniences. Like an approaching full moon or like now, when he had a heat upcoming and he’d apparently happened into the territory of some dangerous lone males. Rouge wolves were always the worst and though he’s sure that they’ve caught the sight of his fur colour, he also carries no doubt that they also caught a whiff of his alluring scent, undoubtedly sweetened by his upcoming heat. It’s the only true reason for them to not only pursue him but to corral him as they are, leading him no place he wants to go

He takes precisely one precious second to curse the dark elder of the forest, his once mentor and one of the many otherworldly entities to preside over the shadowy woods that they all called home. He was the only reason that Tenko was alive right now. The only reason he truly knew anything at all and still Tenko knew to distrust him, especially when he had tried to encourage him to stay, after his heart's longing to follow after the moonlight of his sleepy visions, to the promised safety and awaiting home he’d always desired, grew too strong to bare. Sneaking away hadn’t earned him an easy journey especially back when he’d still been in his mentor’s sanctioned part of the forest, but he’d had to go and he knew that his sensei wouldn’t have ever let him go otherwise, not if he could help it anyway. So he hadn't given him a choice in the matter, opting just to leave without a word one night with only the moon’s faint rays to guide him, knowing that the action would incur the others wrath and yet, despite it, Tenko was sure that if he just called out, an apology would be all that it took to be safely brought back to the others shadowed side. But, that's not what he wants and maybe it's stupid to go this far when he’s clearly not going to let him go. The elder being all too willing to let him fall into any amount of danger to prove a point but, just maybe he shouldn’t have let his mind wander because suddenly the incline dips and he’s falling. Rolling headlong down wet leaves, ragged moss and jagged rocks. The unexpected fall steals his breath and slows him down a step too long but his pursuers fall back to cling to the shadows and he knows that the chase is not over when they wait until he finds his feet but not his breath to lunge forward again, sending him running on unstable footing and renewing the chase

It is almost tempting in that moment. A call of sensei, a small simple apology to follow the title, a promise to never stray from their home again and he’d be safe, but he also knew that with such a vow he’d be forever dooming himself to a dark corner of the forest that he’d never escape from again. Even scared, he knows which fate is worse especially after how far he’s come, he’s almost made it he can tell and so he keeps running as fast as his pumping heart and scrawny human legs will allow. Following the instinct of his wolf that calls for freedom, running as fast as his body can take him across the unsteady unknown ground until he finally breaks out past the uneven tree line and straight into a rocky alcove

There is no time to slow his pace down, not a second to waste to calculate or spare a glance around to think and so he goes up instead of down, dipping to the right, not wanting to risk getting himself trapped on lower ground. Racing across the flat cold rock surface as if he can actually get away until he reaches an overhang and the lip of an open occupied den. There is more forest to his right, the left dropping off below into what would have been the perfect ambush trap had he let them and yet, there is clearly nowhere to go with every conceivable path blocked to him as he finally slows to a stop and those who had chased him here catch up, blocking off any potential escape left behind him. His legs tremble with the sudden stillness, adrenaline still racing through his coursing veins but as he heaves in a breath, he is just glad that he actually managed to stay standing as he sets a fierce defiant glare on the large red headed were before him. His prospects are few and his options are not great but he’s already resolved himself, he knows that his sensei must be watching, waiting to see if this latest test will finally push him to come back home and he's resolved himself to the fact that no matter what happens next, he won’t call out to him. The elder being will likely intervene if they try and get too rough. He’s done so before to help him when times have been desperately dire along his path, helping to leave him untouched during the harsh yet hazy heats but Shigaraki also knows that he wants to make a point by making him plead to come back home with him and he knows that his sensei’s patience has a limit that can easily press just what he’s willing to allow when it’s tested to much. He’s just hopeful that it won't come to anything like that. Holding out hope that his patience hasn’t been worn that thin after all this time

“Omega” the wolf addresses him and Shigaraki can't help the way his eyes roll to the right in aspiration, his pumping heart already slowing as he barely holds back a huff, just great. He had figured that the situation would go this way and yet, he’d been holding out and hoping that just maybe the universe would cut him some slack for once, but nope. This situation was going exactly as he thought it would. Never one to curb his own tongue even after learning from past mistakes, he spoke up, interrupting the prideful alpha and likely challenging whatever limited authority he held over the wayward group of wolves. “You don't want me” it's a simple statement, a likely fact and he keeps his face somewhat bored as he says it, ears flicked back, acutely aware of his surroundings despite the dull moonlight currently obscured by dark clouds overhead. Its a bad spot to be in he knows, taking his eyes off of the wolf in front of him is a bold move and not a great choice after speaking up but his possessive mentor has never let things get this far before and he doubts that he’ll let them test the boundaries more than this

The reality that this isn't a situation to play around in, slams into him when he suddenly finds himself winded, with the larger wolf all that keeps his slim frame from collapsing to the ground below their feet in an agonizing heap. Pain blooms from his abdomen out and shock does little to render the feeling as any less agonizing as he realises that the other wolf had slammed into him, hard. He’s never let them touch him before, never let it go this far and it has new panic already swirling throughout his unexpecting senses, fogging up the sharp intense sting of pain as he can't force a breath in, the haze quickly taking over the clarity he once had and refusing to rescind back behind the stability he so desperately requires to remain safe. However the man seems to notice the slowly forming cracks in his disposition, maybe he can smell it in his scent or maybe Tenko’s faint trembling is enough to go off of but he leans down without hesitation, slowly licking over the shell of his ear as his hands become a far more gentle caress upon his body, cupping as opposed to holding him in place. Tenko shivers, before falling still at his whispered words. “With that bright fur of yours you must be so used to being shunned especially by our superstitious kind, poor creature, you’d like a family to call your own, wouldn’t you?” The soft words carry mock sympathy but pierce straight through his exhausted heart, making him waver

“Wouldn’t you like that omega?” The alpha repeats, voice coy, a goading for the longing and hope that they both know is igniting and filling up the space within his hollow chest right now. “Wouldn’t you like a place you could call your own? A pack to be at home with, safe and provided for? A family?” Of course he wants that, more than anything but, remember the price. What they're asking of him isn’t a pack, it’s not an offer nor an outstretched hand and he knows better than to even consider it as such. The void in his chest opens up larger and more painful than it ever was before, it makes it hard to swallow even though rejecting the dressed up words is all too easy. “I have no plans to become a broodmare” it’s strict, defiant and said with far more instability than he feels right now. Unsteady on his feet even as he stares the alpha down, watching as that lax amusement, an aura exuding the confidence of assured victory, morphs back into the primal rage of a feral alpha. He might just die here, it’s all that he can think as teeth lunge towards him, but if he’s to die here than he won’t go down easily

His claws swing up in a pitiful show of attack and he gives himself over to the dangerous haze, his growling omega feral with the need to keep them both safe. He doesn’t stand much of a chance but if he could just take one of them with him, he’d feel a lot better about how it ended. The last thing he comprehends in the darkness is an aura of warmth as pitch black darts towards them, hidden amongst the shadows of the trees until blood red eyes paint the night in crimson

Aizawa had been following the moon's guide ever since she had begun to tug at them all the more insistently. Tonight was the night, they’d both known it as he’d set out alone. Large pitch black paws falling silently on the dirt, padded toes brimming with light leaving no marks upon the earth below as he let the shallow moonlight guide his path towards their missing piece. She’d been showing them glimpses for years, guiding them slowly together and it seemed that tonight she had deigned it time for them all to finally meet, or so they had thought

Stumbling upon the scene, Aizawa immediately understood just why he was the only one that the moon had seen fit to guide here. The situation was dangerous enough already with just one omega present, let alone two. Still, his heart was captured watching those feisty teeth bared. The way his claws were ripping into anything that dared to get too close. Pure fear and adrenaline spiked the air with a rush of survival, yet nothing could hide the lingering sweetness wanting to blossom just beneath it all. These rouge wolves thought their beauty a prize to be taken, conquered and used but despite not having much of a chance he fought back with all that he had and more. The extreme disadvantage didn’t even seem to cross his mind as he bared fangs with pure determination, hissing venom and wild in a way that wouldn’t last forever, unpredictable movements already slowed by extreme fatigue

Bloody lipped and half starved, fighting off a group of lone males, an omega approaching his next heat. Aizawa hardly believed that this was how he would in fact find their missing puzzle piece but it changed nothing. Sure footed and swift he used the shadows provided by the moon tonight to make his strike and just in time too. The beautiful lunar wolf had lost all of his steam, body dropping rapidly towards unconsciousness as Aizawa made to strike. Grateful that the male would not be awake to witness the gruesome scene to follow, not wanting to scare him off with a gorey first impression. He only changes back when the deed is done, an entire pack of threats wiped out in retribution and left for the forest to gorge itself upon, a feast of predators for those often made prey

He is slow as he approaches, sure that the other will not wake, depleted as he is and yet still rightly wary of what could be a berserk omega fighting for life. Cautious and so worried that he might just frighten their angel awake. He swipes at the blood still on his lips with the back of his wrist, dark and wasteful but too distasteful to really enjoy having it coating the inside of his mouth still. Midnight fur gives way to lighter skin and hair that is almost as ashen as his usual sleek fur. Ever so careful as he slips a toned arm beneath the light weight of his mate to be’s body and gently hefts him up into his defined arms, fluffy head resting automatically against his chest. He barely weighs anything at all and it makes him frown, worried about the damage that the fall may have inflicted upon his scrawny form. Brushing his nose carefully along dirt tainted white locks, hoping to get a small whiff of health. Up this close he gets a deep hit of his scent and Aizawa can already tell immediately that something wasn’t right with the building heat, it had not ripened fully yet, kept at bay for far longer than usual, likely by the fear of being caught alone and the malnutrition that his still growing body faced. It drew an even deeper frown to his expression before his head whipped around behind them, red eyes scanning the darkness for what he knew was there even if it wouldn’t show itself

A creature of the old world, his mind supplies. A creature he pays no mind to, black ears up and small tufts of shadow circling the edges of his body in warning as he carries the lonely white wolf the short trek that remains from the others territory into their forest, a domain that it cannot hope to follow them. “You are safe now” he whispers with a soft shushing motion when the other stirs in the moments as they cross between the threshold of two forests, no doubt a last ditch effort from the being they’ve left behind to bring him back there. It is no use though, as soon as the words leave his lips, his face relaxes and for the first time in what must be a long time, he seems to truly sleep. Settled against Aizawa's chest as he makes the trip back, the moon's pale rays lighting the way home for them

Shigaraki dreams, he dreams of memories and things that make no sense and aren't his own. He dreams of a vast ocean he could never hope to see. He dreams of a large castle that seems so much more inviting than it should be. He dreams of a dark wolf with red eyes, of a rough around the edges man who slinks into shadow. He smells lavender in the pitch black of what isn’t night. He feels a warmth that is unknown to him as he slowly blinks into consciousness, a feeling that had once been a faint memory he could barely reminisce

His eyes open and his first thought is alpha. Followed by safe and warm, words he’d hardly known and certainly not when near the first. Our alpha, his omega says further as if that actually explains a thing. The scent in the air is faint though certainly an alphas, the air blowing in from the window is likely the cause of why he can’t smell it as strongly, fresh air constantly renewed and circulated around. Warmed by the fire and the mass of sheets, he doesn’t really want to move so he lets himself stay settled as he continues to think. Only the realm of monsters tend to run on secondary dynamics, most normal humans are born betas though he’s certainly heard about plenty of cases where things like witches, pseudo humans and even just the odd human are born outside the normal dynamic. They usually all have a link to the world of magic though and as moonlight streams in through the open window, he’s nearly certain that whoever brought him here has to be a fellow monster. How else could they take him from the pack, though that still left the question of why, just who could want a creature like him

Shigaraki gets his answer in the form of a man, tall with dark hair and dark eyes that seem so familiar entering his room. He seems surprised that he’s already up, but not unhappy about it in the slightest. “How’re you feeling?” It’s an unexpected question that has an answer hitching in his throat. The man waits, patiently and his omega perks up with a small chirp of, our alphas worried about us. It makes him do a double take and he remembers a flash of black fur and red eyes seeming to morph from out of the darkness. “Uh” he finds his voice, unsure how to answer a question he’s never really been asked before, especially not with such a worried expression. “I’m okay i think?” “That's good” the man nods, moving to take a seat on the bed beside him and pausing with a pale hand extended, “may i?’ He asks with a small incline of his head and surprised, Tenko nods. Nobody had ever asked if they could touch him before, he’s not sure if he’s as surprised by the fact that the stranger even thought to ask or that he actually said yes to this unknown alphas request with barely any hesitation. A cool hand presses to the back of his forehead with a small hum, “you’ve still got a slight fever but i think your heats receding for now, you don't smell nearly as sweet” he informs before pulling his hand away and standing up

There's a lot for him to take in as Aizawa exits the room and comes back with a large tray of food for him to dig into. He should be concerned and asking questions but right now all he can think about is remembering to breathe between mouthfuls of food. His vigorous appetite has his host smiling though, as he turns to give him some privacy, promising to be back later to retrieve the tray. He’s just about to pull the door shut with a small reminder that his body still needs rest when Shigaraki forces himself to swallow. “What’s your name?” He manages to get out the most pressing question, watching the surprise flash across his face before his tail curls. “Aizawa” the man replies before pulling the door shut with a small click and Shigaraki smiles, making a mental note to ask Aizawa later just what sort of creature he is. He could have sworn the man was also a wolf and yet his tail just now was certainly that of a panther

It’s like a dream he thinks. A warm bed, a caring alpha, a full stomach and the safety to truly rest. There are no shadows over him, no lingering nightmares and for once he understands what it means to feel at peace. He can’t help but think about Aizawa as he yawns, settling back into the soft sheets. Aizawa, whose hands are rough but surprisingly gentle against his skin. Aizawa who is already treating him in a way so few have ever dared to be, kind and seemingly with no ill intention. A voice seems to fill the night air, musical and light, it lulls him off to sleep far faster than any birdsong could ever hope to

In his dreams he isn’t him, he’s the lone wolf running alongside the river bank baring the reflection of the moon. He hears a voice, a woman who sounds just like his mother but different. He jumps into the water, splashing and sending ripples across reflecting stars, somehow he’s in the sky. He’s next to the moon, floating as a small beam of light, a star comes barrelling towards him. He reaches out, paws becoming hands as he catches it in careful upturned palms that look far less sickly than his own. Opening them to reveal a small woman caught between them, a fairy he thinks as she glows but no, she is also just one blessed by the light. He doesn’t understand how he recognises her, they’ve never met and yet somehow he just knows that she is his fathers mother, Nana, the name comes to mind with her simple smile. She zips away from him in a burst of light so quick that he can’t hope to contain it, he has so many questions and yet it feels like all those questions that have been burning away inside of him from the very day he realized he existed have already been answered. He drops out of the sky quicker than he ascended but in that moment, he’s unafraid of falling

“My Starlight, are you awake?” It’s low late afternoon light that greets him when he finally blinks awake, sitting up to find Aizawa staring at him. His nose twitches and the alpha smiles, placing a steaming hot tray of food upon his lap

It should unsettle him, when the man watches him eat so closely and yet it just has his omega preening. Happy that their alpha can provide, happy to see that their alpha is indulging in the sight of them enjoying his efforts, purring its praise loud enough that he can’t stop nor ignore it. “Thank you” he finally says, blushing around the sound of his own rumbling chest, when he’s wolfed down half the meal. The smile he gets back in return going straight to his heart. “You're more than welcome, though you could thank me by telling me your name, unless you prefer my Starlight?” He stutters, blushing with sleepy realization. “Uh… my name is” he pauses a moment to think, unsure before supplying “Tomura” as an answer. It feels right, like he left Tenko somewhere back in that forest although he’s still unwilling to take up the mantle Shimura. “Well Tomura, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you” the choice in wording gives him pause as Aizawa tells him that just knowing he’s enjoying the food is praise enough

“Finally meet me?” He asks after a moment and the alpha blinks surprised. “You felt it too, no? The moon drawing you towards us?” Us? He has so many questions and yet he knows they can’t all be answered. “Is that what the dreams were? That feeling of promise that led me here?” He feels somewhat hopeful as he explains, Aizawa intently listening before offering his own words and feelings in return

“It’s different for us all but for those few of us blessed by the light, the moon goddess herself,” he explains further when Shiagaraki reacts to the words on instinct. “We can feel just where we need to be thanks to her.” It’s not much of an explanation and yet it does explain some things, that longing and promise, the desire that pushed him forth, the feeling he hadn’t been able to contain within his chest, it was leading him here to Aizawa. To his alpha

Aizawa encourages him to eat the rest of his food and he does, diligently cleaning the plate before asking the most pressing question on his mind. “Just what are you?” He asks and Aizawa laughs making Shigaraki blush, it's a rather forward question but he won't take it back, he wants to know. “I’ll tell you on two conditions” he says and cautiously Shigaraki nods. He is curious but not so curious to just blindly agree to anything. “You are to stay in this room until you're fully recovered, once you’re healed up you can explore the castle and I promise I'll escort you around myself until you're more comfortable with the layout, do you think you can do that for me?” He thinks about it, his muscles still feeling weak, already deciding to say yes when Aizawa adds. “I will bring you anything you have need of, you just need to ask”

“Can I ask why?” “Of course, I just want you to focus on healing and there's also the fact that this castle is large and labyrinth-like in select parts, I do not wish you to end up lost and exhausted in a hall especially when you're already unwell.” He nods “and the second condition?”

“I get to ask you a question in return for every question you ask me, of course i will be as honest as i can be and i expect you to be the same, if you're uncomfortable answering or don’t know then just say so, don't ever feel like you have to answer.” Tomura nods, smiling. “I can agree to those conditions” and Aizawa’s mouth tilts up into a small smirk. “Then good. To answer your question, I am a hybrid, or a mixture of supernatural creatures, mainly due to my mixed parentage.” The easy confession takes Shigaraki by surprise and he inches closer, listening intently as he waits for Aizawa to continue. He shakes his head but his eyes are fond as he thinks over his response “well you know that i'm a fellow were, i’m capable of becoming both a wolf and a panther” he hesitates, raising a hand to rub at his neck with a sigh. “I’m something else that I can't reveal just yet, something that will require the right timing but I promise it’ll all be explained then.” Before he can ask further or attempt to pry about the information or circumstance, he continues “and while i don’t like to talk about it, i inherited a select shadow being affinity from one of my parents”

He picks the tray up after a few more light questions, simple things that Shigaraki had never really thought about the answer to before. Easy things like what his favorite colour or food is, things that he doesn’t really have an answer for. Aizawa takes his leave shortly after re-stoking the fire and Shigaraki relaxes back into the comfort of the bed, having time to mull over the answers to questions that should be easy and that Aizawa promises he’ll find the answer to someday, that there's no rush and he can always change his mind later. It isn't until much much later that the light brushing of the wind brings with it a familiar melody, a song that is reminiscent of waves lapping at the shoreline he’s never had a chance to see as he dozes off

Days pass like this and they start to open up to one another more. It’s like they’ve always been together and it takes less than a week to have Aizawa somewhat show him that part of him he doesn't like to talk about. The creature that is nothing beyond vague notions of a demon until he lets him have that glimpse of him in the dark. Red eyes less beastly than one would think and something far too large to just be Aizawa even in his wolf form, its shadowed body sleek not furry even immersed in the darkness as it was. If he didn’t know the man he’s sure his imagination would spiral to all kinds of dark things but he does know the man stepping from the dark with a pair of mismatched wolf ears to his feline tail. He's a kind and gentle alpha, his alpha

Aizawa looks outside at the moon, his hands cupping one of Tomura’s own between them and he knows he likely only has one more question before he’ll call it a night. He’s been staying later and later, accommodating him with extra time as he’s grown stronger over the week and recovered. Having regular warm meals, a bath and someone who cares for him has done him wonders. Still on bed rest though not as strictly. Recently Aizawa’s even taken to helping teach him, helping him with books from an extensive library Tomura is interested to see

“Where does the singing come from?” He asks just a moment before Aizawa leans forwards to stand, making the alpha pause. It’s odd to see him hesitate so much before standing, dragging a thumb across his palm. “Can you be more specific?” The questions worded in a way that Shigaraki knows he’s fishing for a more specific question, maybe to try and throw him off. “Every night, sometime after you leave and right before I fall asleep, I hear a voice singing. It’s beautiful and it reminds me of things I don't even know and have never seen before enough to miss them like a longing for the open ocean.” Aizawa sighs, breaking him from his mesmerized state at the mere memory. “I was hoping that i could first introduce you properly, face to face when you’re feeling better but for now, you can call him Shinsou.” “Shinsou” Shigaraki repeats the name, eyebrows furrowing but not saying anything more in response

When no other questions come, no distress nor sadness, Aizawa bids Shigaraki goodnight. Pressing a kiss to his forehead before turning to take his leave. Leaving Shigaraki alone with his thoughts at least up until that voice began to sing, sending him off to sleep with no chance of him fighting it

Tomura wakes far earlier than usual, glancing at the window to see that the sun's rays are bright enough for it to still be late afternoon at best and yet he cannot find it in himself to fall back asleep no matter how hard he tries. So he gets up and takes a lap around the room before drawing himself a warm bath to soak into as he thinks, legs curled up against his chest. Shinsou, the name makes something stir within his chest and yet he’s not sure just how to feel about it. He wants to push it aside but everytime he thinks about how Aizawa hadn’t mentioned him once since he arrived here, it makes him uneasy

When Aizawa finally shows up to his room, he’s dried and dressed and curled up in the chair by the fireplace. Surprised, his face soon melts into a smile “I see your feeling well enough to move around a bit.” He hums, waiting till Aizawa has set the tray of food down by the bed before turning to him. “Can you show me around today?” A small frown forms on his face for just a moment before he walks over and hesitates a second longer. Tomura nods and after Aizawa feels his forehead with the chilled back of his hand, he looks down. “Are you feeling up to it? A full tour might be a bit much even with your improved condition.” It's not an outright no and so he gives a smile. “Just a trip to one place then?” Aizawa is quick to agree and takes the offered hand guiding him back to bed to eat what his alpha had brought for him

It’s exciting when that door finally opens and he takes his first guided step out into the long stone corridor of the castle he’s been calling home. It’s like a breath of fresh air when a cold gust hits him and his legs wobble for a second before Aizawa offers him a stabilizing arm. “Don’t push yourself” he warns softly before his stern look slid into a teasing and playful smirk. “Or i just might have to carry you around the whole castle” he says it as if the thought is unappealing in any way

They only spend a short amount of time outside of the castle and Aizawa does end up having to carry him both up and down all those steps but it’s well worth it for the twenty minutes he got to spend outside in the small garden with it’s fountain and pretty koi pond that Aizawa says the local creatures care for. It’s Shigaraki’s first time meeting an actual gnome and they’re friendlier than he’d ever been told. He had so much fun that he forgets for a moment all about the worries troubling him. Happily eating what Aizawa brings with them up to his tower room and forgetting to ask any questions related to anything but the small garden and its pretty pond. It isn't until he’s so tired he almost drifts off before the singing has even started that he remembers what had been troubling him so much that morning

Slowly Shigaraki builds up his stamina, their daily trips getting slightly longer with the passing time he spends exploring each new aspect of the castle without a single sign of anyone else around. He’s put on weight he realizes one late afternoon, but it’s not a bad thing when he blushes in the mirror over it. He’s no longer just skin and bones thanks to his alpha feeding him up right and showing such care for him. It makes his omega preen, the emotion followed by a small lick of desire. It’d been a while but he knows his own body well enough and given his irregular heat had been stopped, he brushes it off as just that, one of his usual dry heats coming back to run the rest of its course now that he’s settled and well fed for once. Still he knows it won't hit for another day or two and has Aizawa show him the library today, convincing the man to give him some time alone there to pick out a few books. He reacts well to the proposal although his face visibly falls when he says not to visit him for the next two days, a look that changes just as quickly into understanding when he awkwardly explains just why

Alone for the first time in forever, Tomura makes his way along the long shelves of well loved books, picking out a few that catch his fancy. Putting some back after glancing over the back and grabbing a few smaller novels based on size alone before bringing them all back to one of the desks closer to the entrance of the grand library. Getting himself immersed in a carefully penned story about a mermaid known for her singing voice who fell in love with a pirate prince who was not all that he appeared to be. “Careful, that one's a real heartbreaker, well at least until you get to the second half of the story, that's where it gets real good.” Tomura jumped, almost falling back in his seat as he made to drop the book and look up

Lavender, hair the colour of freshly bloomed lavender greeted him. “Oh I'm sorry” the boy giggled, rubbing at the back of his neck and Shigaraki smelled that scent bloom, blossoming like a dew covered spring meadow in the air. “I didn’t mean to startle you” he said, extending his own hand that wasn’t gripping a stack of books. “I’m Shinsou”

Shinsou was an omega
An omega with a glaringly obvious mark poking out from the loose shirt he was wearing
His heart drops like a stone from his chest into a lake of despair
Shinsou was Aizawa’s omega

The door slams shut behind him with a sound that resounds in an echo around the stone room. The sounds of quick desperate footsteps follow shortly after as he leans himself back against the solid wood and metal of the locked door, ensuring it stays closed, knowing they’re unwilling to hurt him to open it. Through the door he can hear each second breath that Shinsou is apologising with and for some reason the sound only makes his heartbreak more, especially when Aizawa tells him that it’s okay each time, that it’s not his fault, that he should have said something sooner taking the burden solely on his own shoulders. “Shouta” the intimate name crushes his heart as he hears lips connect to skin, was Aizawa even a real name? Tears rush to his eyes, just how stupid could he be to think that all of this was real. As he hurt and doubt seeped beneath his skin at the realization, emotions seemed to react and the feeling came back two fold. “Tomura, i swear it’s not like that, it’s not what your thinking, just please let me explain”

“Go away” he yells back, refusing to budge from his space within the doors way

It’s a surprise when instead of forcing their way inside, Aizawa sighs, voice straining. “I, I understand Tomura, we’ll give you some space.” The words leave him torn, on the one hand he’s listening but on the other it almost feels like he’s given up too quickly, like he’s not even worth the effort to attempt to placate. He listens to those feet retreat, curling up without the energy to move to cry against the doorframe. Tomura, he had said. It was supposed to be a name he could reclaim for a new start, for what was supposed to be his start at a real life with the person he was supposed to be with. For the first time since coming here, Shigaraki thought of his sensei. He hadn’t felt his dark presence since coming here, no shadow peering over his shoulder waiting for him to slip up and cry to come back home. No nightmares haunting his dreams and keeping him on edge. Now he had to wonder if this was what his mentor had been trying to protect him from. Would he come if he called his name now? Could he even hear him? Or was he truly trapped in a mistake of his own making. I should have listened to sensei and stayed put, he was right, chasing dreams really is a fool's errand that will only cause you heartache

Dismantled from the inside out. Dying without dying. He understood it now, and more than anything he wished that he didn’t. His lips trembled, three little words wanting to make themselves known on the tip of his tongue. Just say it and maybe you can end this. He’ll come for us. You were right. But if that was the case then, why did Aizawa sound so sad? Why had he been so kind? Why come after him at all to try and explain? The questions tore up his insides like shards of freshly broken glass and he had not a single answer to any of the questions that plagued him

If Aizawa really was just attempting to use him, then why go so far? It made no sense and yet, there was no denying the mark that he had clearly seen on Shinsou’s neck. There was no mistaking, that was a claiming bite, a mating mark to tell the world that Shinsou belonged to him. Being left alone with his thoughts somehow seemed more tortuous than not, but he’d sent them both away and now he could do nothing but wait in the silence for a sirens song that never came

Instead, what might have been hours later, Shinsou comes back with a gentle knock on the door and asks for him to knock just once if he’s still awake. Sitting in silence, it takes him till Shinsou has retreated to the second stair to finally get up the nerve to give a single light knock against the floorboard, drawing his fellow omega back. “I know that you don't want to hear anything right now and I know that you're hurting, just as I know that you can feel us hurting,” he says as he approaches the door, resting against it. “So i’ll keep this brief, take the time to sort through your head a little and when your feeling up to it, finish reading that story you had in hand earlier, its a lot closer to the truth than you could ever know.” He turns, hesitating on the top step for just a moment longer “maybe it’ll help you understand everything a bit better when you do”

He wipes the tears from his eyes with confusion, it makes little sense and yet, he gets up to investigate the book just two steps away. Glancing at the door after he picks it up, he already knows that neither of them will force their way inside without his blessing. Curling up instead on the couch to find the page he was last at, he is pushed by the emotion that was lingering in Shinsou’s voice to open to the page of the book that he had last been at to take the other omegas advice and continue reading a glimpse into their story

The little mermaid had been deceived, trembling within the net her eyes shone with tears of betrayal. “But why?” It was all that she could ask. “Because my little songbird, I want to keep you by my side forever and I can't do that if you're free to live within the ocean while I'm stuck on dry land.” Shinsou, Shigaraki had quickly come to realize was the so-called little mermaid. A siren covered disguise, the voice just as enchanting a lure as one would expect. He had been captured as a mate after being deceived, dragged from his beloved ocean home by a vampire, the so-called prince of the story. He’d been lured to the water's edge and then from the safety of its depths in a similar fashion to how Shigaraki had been led astray, with the promise of a home, a place he could belong, something he always sought. Only for the man to turn on him. For a supposed lover to become an assailant in the blink of an eye

The dark details of how the little mermaid deteriorated after that fateful turning bite were beyond gruesome and yet he had a feeling that the scales falling off paled in comparison to the actual hell Shinsou had endured during those days that the venom was turning him. Figuring out the truth to this once thought tale made his heart pang with sympathy as he read about the first time he tried to make him drink blood and he found himself more invested in just how Shinsou had overcome this, in just how Shinsou had found himself here now

After managing to refuse and resist for a full week, he was eventually forced to drink the blood of a child from the forest, magic tingling his lips and yet too good for him to stop even if every bit of copper and encouragement disgusted him. His throat had been so parched and he’d been so desperate, he’d drained them dry and still required more, much to the monster's pride. That's when a beast came from the forest, following a pale glimmer of moonlight that Shinsou longed to chase across the once open ocean. He was bound to the land now, a siren that would never be able to swim right again. Aizawa, Tomura realizes. Aizawa found and took him in, similarly to how he’d come for Shigaraki when he needed him, guided by a pale sliver of moonlight

The prince met an ill end for his actions, one that made even Tomura grin in victory. Aizawa was just too good a man, he just couldn’t seem to help himself when it came to doing right. He’s too good, especially for an alpha. Forcing himself to refocus on the last few pages, he can’t help but smile softly at the passages of text. Aizawa had gifted him an infectious bite beneath the full moon, a were-puma he was made willingly by his side. Then he gave him his mating bite, a mark placed over the past scar that had darkened his life, the turning scar of a vampire made into something beautiful. However it doesn’t end just there, he turns to the final page and puts the pieces together for why Aizawa had been talking so secretive of their natures, for Shinsou had turned him too so that they could always be together in every way, for the rest of eternity

It gave him pause, hitching his breath as he thought about Shinsou’s longing for the ocean like he needed it to breathe. About the sacrifices that they’d both already made for one another. Trembling he reads the last passage with tears marring the pages of the book. They walked together hand in hand into the tomorrows to come, waiting for the moonlight to guide them to their final missing piece. At first, he didn't understand but then, something clicked within his mind. He was reading their past, but they’d been waiting for him all this time to start their future together, he realized

Rushing to his feet, he knows that maybe it’s a prosumption, maybe he’s got it all wrong and yet he still rushes out the door to find them. Watching the slivers of moonlight, letting the cursed moon who had long tainted his life with the darkest of shadows guide his way to them. Down long corridors that left him panting for breath when he finally pushed open a door at the end of a long chilly hall. Only to wish he hadn’t come

The sight of Shinsou sitting in Aizawa’s lap, bodies pressed flush and half naked brings back his feelings of self doubt and despair. Finding them together hurts, even when he knows that it shouldn’t, they haven’t rejected him outright, yet. He hardly has a chance to turn when Aizawa is reaching out a hand with a call of wait and Shinsou has moved, quicker than one could ever hope to see, to stop him. “Please wait” the other omega implores and Tomura has enough sense to look up and meet his eyes when he speaks. “I-I’m sorry i interrupted, i can wait in my room until your done so that we-we can talk”

Shinsou looks baffled, “but we’re only like this because of you.” That makes Shiagraki’s eyes widen, incredulous. “What?” “It’s true,” Aizawa said from his spot on the bed, pants tight and claws gripping at the sheets of a well made nest. “We’re only reacting to your scent, can’t you tell?” Shinsou asks curiously, leaning in closer to smell him again before moaning, honeysuckle blossoming up around him in reaction to the scent. “You smell delectably divine” the compliment has him flustered and suddenly he realizes just how hot it feels. His breaths coming in small pants as he tries to catch it, unsure just what is happening

Aizawa is at his side in an instant, steady and sturdy, helping him towards the nest. “Don’t provoke him too much Shinsou, i believe this is his first ever actual heat.” The words seem to shock the other omega to his core. “I’ll-i’ll go get his blankets” but before he can leave Tomura secures a hand around his arm with a whine. “P-Please don't goooooo” he can’t help the way he draws it out. Every nerve feels like it's on fire, alight with new sensation

The proper care he’d been receiving and the heightened emotions, the love he was experiencing takes its toll in a way he never expected. Inducing a proper heat he’s unprepared for, a cycle so vastly different to the dry heats he knows so well and suddenly he’s scared. His unsure emotions are still reeling, pulling him this way and that but when Aizawa gets him in Shinsou’s nest, a place that smells of them both, he begins to calm and settle. The panic ebbs away in favour of the heat as Aizawa's palms gently cup his face. “Tomura, are you still with us?” He asks and Shigaraki nods slowly, making the older male swallow. “Good” he looks over at Shinsou who retrieves a water bottle in an instant, handing the cooling water over to Aizawa who helps to soothe some of the fever by making him drink. All the while Shinsou sits at his side, soothing him with soft trills and strokes across his palm

Once he’s drained almost the whole bottle, Aizawa leans forward to scent him and Shinsou’s voice reaches his ears light and melodic through the slightly receded haze. Promising to leave if he’s not yet comfortable sharing with him, despite this being his nest, despite the impulsive moment where he asked him to stay. “I was just so excited to meet you, even though Shouta warned me that it was too soon, i'm so sorry” he apologizes again, voice shaky yet heartfelt and something squeezes inside of Shigaraki’s heart. Because this had indeed been a misunderstanding, but on his front. These two had waited so long to find him and when they did, they’d been holding back for his sake, it brought touched tears to his eyes

“Hitoshi” Shouta whispers softly and the small omega smiles. “It’s okay Shouta. I can do whatever is needed, fetch drinks or stay away. I don't mind. I should have respected his space or we wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with. I can accept that I'm at fault.” Learning that both these strange yet wonderful creatures wanted him was hard to believe and yet it made him feel even more treasured, more blessed with each second that passed. He’d always thought himself broken, cursed but they didn’t see that and slowly he was starting to see that they just wanted him to be theirs as much as they wanted to be his

With his first real heat threatening to take him over, a true heat he wants to spend with his chosen only. Shigaraki surprises himself by catching Shinsou by the wrist as he pulls Aizawa down towards him. At no point did he think he’d be spending this with anyone but Aizawa but he’d survived so much, for so long to be here for this, for them and he wasn't about to hold back now. Putting his feelings into words is hard, but still he manages to ask Shinsou to stay, for them both to hold and love him if they also want to, because it’s what feels right. He may not know Shinsou much, hardly at all but every night his songs had enchanted him, sending him into peaceful slumber and right now, he knows that he wants him to stay as well. He accepts and Aizawa leans down, face a mixture of proud and overjoyed even as he asks if he is sure, to which Tomura repeats that he could want nobody else

Aizawa acknowledges his strength with each caress, the lifelong journey that he's taken to get here to be with them. Touching him reverently as Shinsou supports his head upon his plush thighs, leaning down for quick kisses as Aizawa asks for his consent each time he goes to do something new. Giving him a choice when he’s only ever had the world take from him, had only ever been expected to be taken from. It’s magical to him, the way his hands can be so gentle as they all but worship his body, making him pant despite the fact he’s hardly been touched at all

When a finger finally trails its way down, past the length that Shinsou had helped Aizawa free from its confines. Clothes tucked into the nest with the raging heat becoming too much, making him burn up inside and out. He all but whimpers. “May i?” Aizawa asks. “PLEASE” he practically whines in response. Hips lifting and not above begging if it’ll finally get him touched where he needs it most as Shinsou helps to soothe him back to the soft sheets of the nest, rubbing his scent glands against Shigaraki’s own. “Shhhh” he soothes, pampering his face with light kisses, “we’re gonna take real good care of you” he promises as he shoots Aizawa a glare. “I know that you want to take your time and i understand that you want this to be special but he’s burning up bad Shouta, he needs it now” Shinsou’s tone is firm and Aizawa nods

Surprised that an omega would take such an authoritative tone but also that an alpha would listen to an omega bossing them around, he watched almost curiously through the burning pleasant haze as Aizawa dives straight down outta sight. Pulling his hips up gently within his wide supportive palms and leaning in just as Shinsou promises that he’s gonna feel good real soon. The other omega rubbing his thighs subtly together even as he smelt mostly of protective and happy, not completely unaffected by the hormones of an omega who considered himself somewhat of a defect before this whole ordeal. Smiling when he caught Shinsou’s eyes, he pouted out his lips and the other omega smiled, obliging him with a kiss just as Aizawa’s tongue brushed over his leaking hole

Tomura moaned into Shinsou’s mouth letting his fellow omega swallow his pleasure, the mere act of his alphas tongue gathering his slick was unlike anything he’d ever felt before. The first quick finger went in far easier than he was used to when alone and it was like all his sensations were dialed up to the maximum, a different experience entirely to what he had thought a heat was supposed to be. Like nothing he could ever hope to imagine doing with anyone else. He moaned freely, spreading his legs to accommodate Aizawa between them even further. There was no pain, just a sense of pleasure and love. He’d always expected to be afraid if he ever had to share a heat but with the both of them his nerves just melted away. His tail trapped beneath them could hardly move but it still swayed in the limited space that it could, his excitement and heightened emotions making it hard to hold back

Before he knew it Aizawa had already effortlessly stretched him to three thick fingers and his kisses with Shinsou had turned more into a pathetic attempt of him not making a mess as he whined and pressed their lips together, desperately trying to grind his ass back on Aizawa’s invading fingers and tongue. “Sho” Shinsou whined breathlessly, pulling away from Shiagraki’s chasing lips to capture his partner's attention. Shouta pulled back, pupils blown wide with excitement as he licked the slick glistening on his face, making Shinsou subconsciously lick his own lips with desire. “He can’t take any more” he scolds and the alpha whines making Tomura clench down around his thrusting fingers. “Just one more, i’m sure he can cum if it’s just a little longer with that and my tongue” he pleads and Shinsou huffs fondly

“Stretch him to one more, but don't draw it out if he can’t cum the first time with your fingers alone. He’s desperate for a knot and he’ll start aching soon” the mere mention of pain had Shouta diving back down, movements quick as he licked with his tongue, pressed against his prostate as he slowly worked the fourth finger in. A hard press back from Tomura’s own writhing body had the fourth finger sliding in and Aizawa's arm brushing against his flushed cock sent him tumbling over the edge quickly. His cock twitching as he gasped and he cried out as a small wave of relief washed over him, only temporarily abating his fever which quickly began to build up again

“Beautiful” Shinsou whispered as Aizawa leant forward, running the length of his tongue across the small translucent mess on the flat of Tomura’s stomach. Making the omega shiver with a small desperate whimper. Shinsou surged forward, catching their joint alpha by his raven hair, stealing a taste of the syrupy sweet liquid that was all Tomura. Giving an appreciative moan before reaching between them and guiding their alpha to line up with his stretched slick hole. Fingers retracted but before he could mourn their loss, something much larger replaced them and Shinsou’s mouth once again found his. Working to prop him up in his lap just a little higher, so that he could see a better view of where he and Aizawa were connected but also so that he could more easily bring his hands down to play with the rosy neglected buds on Tomura’s chest

“Alpha” Tomura gasped when Shouta finally sunk home, clinging onto Shinsou for dear life as the omega helped the process along any way that he could. Hands at work at his chest, mouth attached to the other omegas or the intoxifyingly sweet glands of his neck. All three of them were panting, Tomura’s heat stirring up their own biology to respond in accordance. Aizawa was starting to growl, fangs bared as he thrusted forward over and over, barely drawing out before he sheathed himself inside again. “My omegas, beautiful” he gasped compliments between each one, praising them, saying that he didn't deserve them, that he loved them. Vows of protection he’d always keep, he worshipped them and it was overstimulating for Tomura who cried out. His claws raking against the insides of Shinsou’s arms, just surface level scratches that healed over again almost instantly

It was as Shouta started to slow that his mumbled praises turned to senseless begging and a proper question, one that they both knew Tomura couldn’t answer right now. Even with his cries of “Yes, please, I want to be yours too” they couldn’t allow it, not until they’d all had a chance to talk this out unaffected by hormones. With his knot starting to catch, Aizawa thrust forward once then twice, back, forth, back, forth, until his next tug away drew a weak whine and he only pressed forward. Pushing until he couldn't push forward anymore as his knot rapidly swelled and he roared his release

Teeth sunk into smooth skin, Hitoshi’s arm the barrier between Shouta and Tomura, his flesh the line between something permanent and not as he leant down and carefully bit at the gland on Tomura’s neck, not scratching with his own fangs as he begged for release with each pump and twitch of Shouta’s cock. Until finally the pressure and simulation of a bite became too much and he came, his own cock squirting weakly against his stomach, a wave of slick wetting the space between them as he twitched and whined with the pleasure of an orgasm, something unlike anything he’d ever known before

They took turns slowly kissing after that, letting them come down from the rushing high of the pheromones until Aizawa could pull out, cleaning Tomura up with his tongue as his body began to burn for a second round. It was only after round four that he began to get sluggish. Only then did Shinsou stand, dragging the spent alpha and omega deeper into the nest and retrieving rations for them both. Making sure they consumed enough before snuggling down behind Tomura. Surprised when the omega turned over to instead snuggle into his chest over their alphas. Eyes angled up to watch him as slowly he pet through his fluffy white hair

“Tell me something I don't know?” He mumbled the words, sleepy and childish, innocent. It made Hitoshi smile, Aizawa smirking fondly over his shoulder before he nodded. Taking a moment to think, he ran a finger along the blue vein in Tomura’s arm. “You carry white magic in your veins” he explained, catching Tomura’s immediate interest. “You may have been born a were and maybe your family was unaware of whatever white magic flows in your blood, I’d say potentially fae if I had to guess, though I can't be sure” the words make him think back to the dream he had not all that long ago when he came here. Of the moon and Nana. He hums at the pleasant thought and Aizawa rolls, snuggling up closer behind Shigaraki and cuddling into the omega, unashamed about his affectionate nature

“What I can tell you is just like all of us” and he clearly means the three of them. “It’s all linked to the moonlight and her guidance. She takes each of us bound to her through perilous journeys to guide us just where we need to be.” A tired yawn fights it way from Shigaraki’s throat even though he tries to stifle it and Shinsou smiles softly. “It is almost sunrise,” he admits, taking a second to glance towards Aizawa who has already begun to drift off. “What about me?” Tomura asks and it’s made clear what he means when he spots just where Tomura’s vivid eyes are lingering upon his neck. “We’ll discuss that as soon as there's no pheromones in the air to cloud judgement” the wolf goes to open his mouth and Shinsou smiles fondly. “We won’t change our minds and we know that you don't want to either, we can feel it in here” he places his hand over Tomura’s heart to feel the light thump thump of a steady beat. “You no longer have any hesitation nor doubt about us but that doesn’t mean you can’t carry reservations or should blindly walk into things without knowing what it’ll entail” he smiles again, this time to show off a flash of fangs in the dawn light. “Besides i thought you wanted to get to know me first”

At the reminder Shigaraki’s cheeks turn a soft pink, cuddling in closer which only has Shinsou chuckling softly. “I can promise you this, you’ll get both a bonding bite and a bite to bind you to us for all of eternity when you're ready for them, be that three days from now or eight weeks. It’ll all happen in our own time, when we’re all ready and able to accept everything about this and the situations that’ll follow.” He nods, slowly yawning as Shinsou begins to sing a soft familiar tune about the sea, a happy one that has him drifting on waves knowing that he’s promised tomorrow and a happily ever after for the rest of forever with his chosen mates, as he always should have been, bonded by their sides, the three of them wearing matching bites for all of eternity

Yes I am aware of the names, it’s done on purpose to give him a unique identity here without removing who he is as a character
