Chapter Text
After praying, Aragami and Azula waited patiently. As predicted, Inari appeared as a transparent projection.
“State your business Aragami, I am already occupied in a meeting with deities from other realms”.
“Other realms?” Azula questioned.
“Goddess, did you merge Azula’s world with this one?”
“No, but I was summoned by other deities to save this mixed realm from an evil force”.
“What is she talking about?” The young girl was even more interested. Inari looked like she was thinking of what to say carefully.
“Aragami, if there are people or creatures from another realm who have appeared in this world, then find them by starting with the ones overseas”.
Later on.
All over the news, there have been reports of individuals having elemental supernatural abilities. Some were apprehended. Most of them were in the western side of the United States of America. More specifically San Francisco.
“That is where we’ll go”, Azula decided.
Khonshu’s Temple
Genji was bored. He couldn’t believe Moon Knight and Scarlet Scarab were off to a place called London while he had to stay couped up in a temple. Then he felt something. Something off.
A glowing orb appeared with the voice of an otherworldly man. “Genji”.
The boy walked to it as if he had no free will. Light suddenly shone everywhere and the next thing he knew, he was in an endless dark void. There he found himself face to face with a really big masculine being. It was not human despite his body shape. This is either a spirit from the spirit world or a ‘cosmic entity’ who ruled the universe.
“Hello young Avatar”. It greeted. Genji’s eyes widened in shock. There were many reasons why, for one, the entity had pitch-black skin, wore a demonic warlord outfit, and was twice as large as a planet. The second reason was that he called him the avatar.
“What did you just call me?!”
“Is that how you talk to a cosmic entity?”
“You think I’m the Avatar? As in, master of all four elements and can tap into the avatar state?”
The entity made an observing gaze. He hummed in fascination. “You didn’t know you were the new Avatar?”
“That’s impossible! The new Avatar is from Ba Sing Se. I’m just a sand-bending peasant”.
“Are you convinced that spoiled pretty boy is the chosen one? Or are you ignoring that time you came in contact with Avatar Korra in your dream?”
Last night, he was dreaming about the former avatar who was fighting Zaheer, while fighting the metallic poison.
But he was witnessing it through her perspective as if he was the one fighting the terrorists. It was so vivid that when Zaheer was airbending air out of his lungs the boy shot up from his sleep, covered in sweat.
“It was just a dream”.
“Really? So, it is normal for ordinary people to have dreams about the previous Avatars almost every night?”
Genji hid his face in utter shock, and anger. “So what? Are you going to train me or something?”
The entity just made a wicked masculine chuckle. Genji was taken aback by that retort. “I don’t want to train you, I want to kill you”.
Then a beam of ice was shot at the celestial. Someone pulled him into a portal. He fell on his face to a grass surface. Lifting his head, he spit out some grass that was stuck to his tongue. As he was gagging, he soon realized that a pair of Water Tribe boots were standing before him. He groaned in annoyance. “Great, just great! Whoever you are, just leave me alone—“, he paused when he stood up to meet a boy, his height, pale skin, blue eyes, and blue hair with ink-black streaks, and wearing a blue summer waterbender outfit.
“Nice to meet you too Avatar Genji”. The boy said nonchalantly.
San Francisco
There was an anti-hero who was in a red and black mask and polyester armor under a black and red jacket (sleeves rolled up) with black gloves. He also wore dark grey small trousers with biker boots, this individual was a rumored criminal.
One night, the masked man attacked a shipment to the car dealership warehouse. He eliminated the men guarding the area and saw his intended target ahead. The sound of a woman clearing her throat behind him made him curse.
“I’m busy enough as is, dealing with elemental inhumans plus the casual crimefighting, now I gotta deal with some random mercenary? All this and it’s not even my birthday!”. The man pulled out two hatchets. In a fighting stance. “Ah man, you want to fight me before introducing yourself?” Ghost Spider sighed. “Rude, but have it your way”. She charged at the man, who tried to slice open her gut, slid under him, and grabbed him from behind. “If you were a good person, I would’ve had romantic intentions to do this move”, she flirted. The man flipped her over from behind to the ground in front of him. Laying on her back she rolled away from an incoming hatchet. She shot a web string at his one hatchet and yanked it out of his grip. She hummed with interest, but then sighed and broke it. As they were fighting, Ghost Spider webbed him into a cocoon, when he had his weapons taken away.
The masked woman walked to him, “Usually, I would unmask psychos like you but I’ll leave that to the cops”.
Then the man snickered, “You know nothing, bug girl”.
Ghost Spider came to a halt, and then looked over her shoulder. “You know something I don’t?”
“I know plenty, for example, there are elementals everywhere. Won’t be long before an international revolution starts”.
Ghost Spider turned to him. “Why is this happening?”
The masked man seemed to be observing her. “Ask the elemental losers you’ve already captured. I can help you with that if you don’t turn me in”.
Ghost Spider’s lenses narrowed to show she was glaring with thought.
