Percy smiled hesitantly at Oliver, feeling relieved when Oliver smiled back.
It had been a sudden choice to invite him to have a drink together. Though being friends since they started Hogwarts, Percy hadn't wanted to assume that Oliver would enjoy spending his first weekend in Hogsmeade with him.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his brother and Hermione occupying a table not far from them, feeling extremely grateful when he saw the professors enter, an event that sent the two teenagers into a state of agitation and prevented them from being aware of the presence of Oliver and Percy.
The reason it had taken Percy so long to invite Oliver over for a drink, other than Oliver's obsession with Quidditch, which made him almost wedded to his role as Keeper and Captain, was Penelope.
While the two shared an understanding, it wasn't what Percy was looking fo r in a relationship. Ironically, it was Penelope herself who confronted him with the truth. The two of them weren't meant to be together.
Percy, now that he'd found his understanding in Oliver, was relieved that this conversation had preceded their attempt to take their relationship to the next level.
As far as he knew, Penelope had found a new boyfriend in some of her roommates. Not that it mattered, Percy thought firmly, ignoring his younger brother and uncomfortable thoughts about his previous relationship.
The only thing that mattered at that moment was Oliver , sitting across from him.
“So… Quidditch?” Oliver offered, making Percy smile indulgently. “Quidditch.” The Head Boy nodded, once again glancing at his brother for the last time, finding him engaged in… something, and deciding to focus his attention on his friend and, hopefully, future boyfriend.

Laughing, Percy and Oliver trudged up the stairs to their dormitory. After ascertaining that the common room was empty, and that all students were now in bed, both slightly inebriated teenagers deemed it safe to walk down the common room and reach their room. Percy especially was desperate to avoid his younger brothers and their scrutiny, in Ron's case, or blackmail, in the case of the twins.
"I can't believe you actually tried to touch the trunk of the Whomping Willow." Oliver laughed, sitting up on his bed, shaking his head in awe.
“Well, you said I would never dare to do that.” Percy chuckled. “I had to show you your mistake, didn't I?”
“You are absolutely insane, Percy Weasley.” Oliver smiled, looking at Percy. “How you became Prefect is a mystery.”
Percy snorted, putting a hand to his chest and wearing a shocked expression. “How dare you!” Sitting next to him, he gave his shoulder a light push, “I feel brutally betrayed, Oliver. And I thought we were friends!"
Oliver snorted, before pushing Percy back of his own. "Melodramatic!"
“Oh, that's a statement of war, you know?” Percy lifted the pillow, smiling amused, even more so when he saw Oliver smile back, also armed with a pillow.
"Well then. War it is."
After a few well-placed blows, Percy found Oliver on top of him, the pillow repeatedly hitting his face, no mercy from the Gryffindor Keeper.
"Do you give up?" Oliver asked, raising his weapon menacingly.
“I surrender, oh great warrior!” Percy responded, raising his hands in surrender, as he managed to do from his position.
Oliver shifted the pillow, breathing heavily. After a few seconds standing in that position, both realized exactly how they were. Oliver straddles Percy's hips.
Blushing furiously, they both tried to lift themselves at the same time, leading to bumping each other's heads and groaning in pain, their position unchanged.
"I am sorry!" Oliver said, placing his hands on Percy's chest to give himself the push he needed to stand up fully. "I didn't mean… I know you and Penelope…"
"Me and Penelope?" Percy repeated, confused. “But we broke up.”
"Aren't you together with Penelope?" Oliver halted his attempts to move, staring at Percy in confusion. " Since when ?"
“A month or two.” Percy answered, honestly, "We both decided we weren't fit to be in a relationship. We're better off as friends."
"You're single?" Oliver asked and Percy nodded, then said, confident with the position they were still in. “Why do you think I asked you out?”
“Was that a date ?” Oliver blinked and Percy answered, humming softly. “Only if that's what you want.”
Oliver didn't answer for a while, the silence growing heavy between them.
"I didn't mean to put you…" Percy began to apologize, only to be stopped by the pressure of Oliver's lips on his own.
Enthusiastic, Percy returned the kiss, placing his hands on the back of Oliver's neck and increasing the pressure and intensity of their kiss. Oliver moaned in appreciation, and Percy, acting on pure instinct, spread his legs, allowing more room for the more muscular boy to approach him.
“I know that… you and Penelope… and I know that I…”
Percy blinked. "Me and Penelope, what ?"
“You know, you did that .” Oliver answered, talking between kisses.
Percy didn’t figure out what Oliver was referring to at first, deciding to blame the sensation of the other's lips on his own neck line, but when he did, he blushed and started to deny it. “Penelope and I have never done anything! Not with her , not with anyone else !"
“You…but been together…over a year….” Oliver muttered in confusion and, suddenly realizing where his hesitation was coming from, Percy asked. "Are you a virgin?"
Oliver blushed, saying. “Well, I… I never met anyone who was worth it, you know… And Quidditch kept me pretty busy.”
Percy chuckled, out of breath. The fact that Oliver Wood, the handsome and extremely hot Gryffindor Keeper, Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, was a virgin and single did something in his head that Percy couldn't explain very well.
Maybe it was absolute disbelief at the idiocy of some people, who let a beautiful boy slip away for trivial reasons. Perhaps it was the enthusiasm and adrenaline of realizing that they would be each other's first time. He had hoped , of course, that Oliver was single. But to hope and to see that hope became true were two very different things. Percy knew that very well.
And instead, his hope had become reality.
Filled with adrenaline, with happiness, his hands went around Oliver's neck, pulling him back in for a kiss.
“It will hurt.” Oliver warned and Percy smiled. “It's worth it.”
Oliver's fingers were gentle as they stripped Percy of his clothes, and Percy's were slow as they returned the favor, their lips always together.
Then, Percy flat on his back, Oliver on top of him, a look of infatuation on his face, they giggled as they realized they had no idea what to do next.
“I think… I mean.” Oliver blushed and Percy spread his legs. “Well, I think you have to use something.”
Oliver blushed again, Percy following as soon as he saw what the boy was taking.
“Is that… the oil you use for your broom?”
Oliver blushed. "Yes."
Chuckling, Percy rested his head on the pillow, saying. "Well then. Go ahead."
The pressure made the redhead moan, and he spread his legs even further and moved his hips. Then, Oliver inserted two fingers, moving them uncertainty, slowly and confusedly, making Percy groan in response. He had no idea what Oliver was doing, but he didn't want him to stop.
"All right?" Oliver asked, perhaps mistaking his moan for one of pain, reaching for her fingers. "Don't stop, please." Percy answered and Oliver, smiling, resumed his work.
After a while, he murmured. “I think it's okay…”
Percy nodded eagerly, tying his legs around Oliver's waist instinctively and kissing him when he felt him stiffen. "I love you. Don't stop now."
Oliver nodded, doing something and then starting to kiss Percy's neck, distracting him as he thrust into his hole.
Percy moaned, and Oliver followed suit, their foreheads together.
“This is… wow .” Percy murmured and Oliver answered, whispering. "Tell me and I'll stop right away."
“Don't stop at all .” Percy answered, grinning when Oliver growled and started to move.
It hurt, at first, but as the movement continued, as their hands touched, as their kisses continued, the pleasure completely dulled the pain, and both boys moaned without restraint.
When it finished, it was too soon.
The two stood panting, Oliver plopping down beside Percy.
“Are we doing it again?” Percy asked and Oliver snorted. "Depends. Are we a couple now?”
Percy nodded. “We definitely are.”
Oliver smiled. “Then we can do it again. Maybe even knowing what to do in the meantime.”
Percy chuckled.
It had been intense . It had been a spark .
Maybe he should thank Penelope for their breakup.
