Work Text:
It was a rather normal day, (as far as normal went with this job anyway) when Amelia came bursting into Alvina’s office in some tizzy or another.
“Alvina! I need you to cancel anything we have for the afternoon, I forgot today was the annual office luncheon! I need to pick a place to go ASAP.”
Alvian looked puzzled. “We’ve never had an annual office luncheon before,” she said skeptically.
“I know, which is why I forgot. I read somewhere that this could help boost company morale.”
“You think we need morale boosting?”
“I don’t know! I just thought that it would be nice!”
“Usually it’s The Interviewer coming up with these schemes. I’m surprised by this.”
“It’s not a scheme , it’s just lunch.”
“Ok, ok, does everyone else know about this lunch?”
“Yes, yes, I told everyone to put it on their calendars. I even invited Walter from the morgue.”
“Well that was nice of you, do you want help picking where to go so that everyone’s tastes can be met?”
“Oh don’t even get me started on that. Why does everyone have such varied tastes?”
“You do know who we work with, right?”
Amelia sighed. “Yeah, I know, I’ll figure something out, you just figure out the schedule.”
“Sounds good, good luck.”
“Thanks, I’m going to need it.”
Two hours later, the staff were all crowded into the office kitchen, each with their preferred food item ordered from wherever that did delivery. Modern technology really was useful.
