Work Text:
Laying down on the floor, knees to chest, her whole body shook with exhaustion. Time was meaningless when she hadn’t seen the sun in who knew how long, but knew they would be coming soon. They were always coming soon. She curled up further when the door slammed against the wall, letting light stream into the pitch dark cell. The manacles fixing her wrists to the wall clanked as her arms raised to protect her head from whatever new horror was coming for her.
“Please, no more,” she croaked, throat parched and face wet with tears and snot. “No more.”
She flinched away from a hand that touched her lightly on the shoulder.
“Marinette, it’s alright,” a voice said.
She knew that voice. Tentatively, she moved her arms away from her head, just enough to see that she wasn’t imagining his voice.
“Damian?”
“I’m here, darling. I’m here to take you home.”
