Chapter Text
Hours before
The sound of a whacked the gavel in the room.
“ORDER EVERYONE” A guard shouted.
“The council coven’s reunion it’s going to start-please everyone stands up from your sits for the honor of the order.” Continued the guard, as she cleared her throat.
Important leaders from different covens gathered in this room. The most crucial member was about to arrive and make an appearance.
The room had enormous stained-glass windows that surround the walls. A magnificent table in the center, and giant frames, paintings, and statues told the story of the founders.
The reunification of all the species has made it possible for this society to exist. Without order, all would be chaos.
In the distance, a sound of steps echoes into the room of...
Silence.
A person with a long coat, golden accessories, and a cathedral mask with golden carved patterns appears on stage. They have dark curls and a big pendant earring that makes one ear point.
“Please, everyone, sit down.” as an order.
With a double hammer sound echoing in the room, the guard replies, and the council officially starts, “The council can proceed with your honor.”
“Your excellence. We have received several reports of attacks outside the walls from distinct individuals.”
Whispers resonated the place of order, discussions were being made.
“The descriptions are almost identical for all of them. Big shadow creatures that miss the light in the eyes.”
Suppressed sounds of whispers, gasping, and all more can be heard in the room, and with just a rise of a hand, all came silence.
“My dear leaders of the covens, it looks like we have a security breach but not only outside our city walls, I had received news from other alias kingdoms that some of their people start to be missing, we must stay calm and not act on panic” The governor stated, “We must protect our people. We going to do check-ups in the entrance and find out who these creatures are and bring them to justice.”
More whispers, followed by more murmuring, could be heard from the council.
One of the leaders asked, “Your honor if you allow me.” So the governor replied, “Of course, go ahead.”
All the council was awaiting
“And if something connected all this to... The case of the last heir”. All the people were delusional, many reacted surprised, others were angry, and some agreed, nodded at the statement.
It was all in chaos
The council guard looks surprised by the testament, a violent expression from their excellence. The trembling in her hands was so obvious signal. And it did not hesitate. The guard ended the council meeting. "We're done for tonight. May everyone return to their homes safely. May the Order is with you all." As everyone left, the governor disappeared.
“Where did you go now, sister?” The guard sighs.
Back in the present
.... You smell delicious...
He was unsure of how all of this happened. Maybe it was that brutal idea of being a little more helpful? In an instant, her words made him realize that he was not carrying a normal woman. The lady appeared to be a vampire, who was hungry to a terrible extent. His thoughts were questioning why and how she ended up here, why he cared for it and why is a creature like her-
…alone...?
He didn't fear her by any means, but it took a back and distracted him from his thoughts. As he turned slowly towards the face of the woman who was still searching for him, with a determined green eye full of carvings. “Yeah? I’m grateful. I suppose”. He laughs a little.
“Unfortunately, I regret disappointing you. I am not a creature of blood. I am not the type of individual you require”
She was staring at the 000.
“I... I’m...” She tried to force an apology, a sound, anything, but the moment her eyes honed in on the bear’s stare, all words failed her. It was as if they had stolen the freezing air from her and all she wanted was to hide away from his gaze. He chuckled, seemingly unperturbed by how speechless she was. “Looks like the bat bite your tongue”
Shyness suddenly overcame the one. Trying their best to avoid any eye contact with the beast.
The bear-beast grinned his inhuman grin right at her, eyes flickering cheerfully. “I don’t have a specific name as some, but you can call me Amias.”
His eyes smile directly at her.” It’s nice to meet ya,” as he blinks an eye at her. Margaret's eyes widened, following her expression and face contouring a soft light. She was tinted red by their gesture. The last thing she had expected from this bear was a kind of gesture. He didn’t seem to want to harm her at the moment, so she returned the act of kindness. Hesitantly, she glanced down at her hands and back at him.
It felt right to introduce herself.
“I... I’m Margaret... Nice to meet you, Amias.”
Amias title over his head to the trees that surround them and then to a distant walkway, his expression changing from being charmed to neutral. "Let's go somewhere," he said. "I'll see how I can help you there." He adjusted himself and began walking, looking straight ahead, going on his pathway.
