Chapter Text
A tall man walked through a large mansion and proceeded to walk into an office. And he saw an older gentleman sitting by his desk, writing something. The older man hadn't noticed him, so he made his presence known. "Mr. Hammond?"
John Hammond looked up from his papers, before he started worrying. "Mr. Murray. Is everythng alright?" he asked, as he walked over to Richard Murray. Richard was one of the guards who had been hired to keep an eye on Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna. If he was standing here in his office, then he knew the news wouldn't be good.
Richard shook his head. "Not really. We've just received some information that Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm are on Isla Nublar."
John looked at him in confusion. "Why on Earth would they go back there?"
Richard looked grimly back at him. "I don't think they went voluntarily. It looks like they were forced to go there."
"How do you know that?" John started to get more worried, the more he listened to what Richard told him.
"The men they were travelling with all had guns. And they seemed to carry an unconscious Malcolm onboard their ship." Richard saw the worry written all over John's face. Specially at the mention of Ian being unconscious and carried onboard the ship. He knew John cared deeply about Ian, even though they fought a lot. They almost looked like father and son, when they were arguing with each other.
John walked back over to his desk and picked up the phone, before he turned back to Richard. "I want you to take a group of men and go to Isla Nublar as quickly as possible. And if the men who have taken Dr. Grant, Dr. Sattler and Dr. Malcolm to the island give you any trouble, you have my permission to do anything to keep Grant, Sattler and Malcolm safe. You may leave now. I have some calls to make."
Richard nodded, "Yes sir." before he turned around and left the office.
John watched him leave, before he focused on the phone and punched in some numbers. As he waited for the person to pick up, he wondered who the men were who had taken Alan, Ellie and Ian to the island and why. And he wondered if Ian had only been knocked out or if he was injured worse when the men had to carry him onboard the ship. "I really hope he doesn't bump into the T-Rex again..."
------
As Alan walked down the path towards the docks with James and his men, he was worried about how Ellie and Ian were doing. Ian hadn't looked too good when he left them, so he knew he needed medical help fast. He also worried that the men who were left with Ellie and Ian would try to do something to Ellie. When he looked at James, he saw him talking quietly to one of his men. And he wondered if he could make a run for it. But as he looked behind him, he saw some of James' men walking closely behind him, so he knew escaping was not an option at the moment. What he really needed right now was a distraction, so he could slip away unnoticed. Or at least for so long that he could get to a safe distance away from James and his men.
A sudden rustling in the bushes to the left made him suddenly tense up. As he looked back towards James, he saw that James was still talking and had clearly not heard the rustling sound. But then all hell broke loose, when a Velociraptor suddenly came out of the thick jungle and attacked one of the men, before killing him with one bite to his throat, while ripping his gut open with the long sharp claws on its feet. The other men started shooting at it, but barely had time to react when several more raptors jumped out of the thick brush and attacked them as well. Alan's eyes widened in fear, when a Velociraptor suddenly jumped out of nowhere and towards him with its razor sharp claws outstretched towards him.
------
Meanwhile, as Ellie was sitting on a chair next to the examination table Ian was resting on, the walkie-talkie one of James' men were carrying suddenly came to life. "Get your guns ready. We're under attack!" they heard James shout through the walkie-talkie. But what really made Ellie and Ian tense up, were the terrified screams of the men in the background and the sounds of the Velociraptors. When the walkie-talkie suddenly went quiet, the four men left of James' group looked worried at each other. Then one of the men turned to Ellie and Ian. "What the hell was that?!" he demanded to know.
Ellie looked worried at Ian, who looked worried back at her, before she looked back at James' men. "That sounded like Velociraptors." Although she couldn't get how there were still raptors on the island, as she thought the T-Rex had killed two of the raptors and the last one starving to death in the locked freezer. Then she suddenly had a flashback of when they had first arrived at the island and John Hammond showed them around.
*Alan held a small newborn dinosaur in his hands, as he looked up with a serious look on his face. "What species is this?"
Henry Wu looked up from the papers he was going through. "Oh. It's a Velociraptor."
Alan looked at Henry. "You've bred raptors?" he asked with a grim look on his face.*
Ellie remembered that there had been at least five Velociraptor eggs in the lab they had visited with John. And she knew that if all of those raptors had all survived, then they were in deep trouble. Not only were there more raptors this time, but they had not met humans before, so they would all consider humans as food. That made her wonder if they would even make it off the island alive this time. She looked at Ian and saw him looking worried back at her, as he thought the same thing.
James' men looked worried at each other again, before one of them turned back to Ellie. "Are they dangerous?" he asked them and looked worried. At Ellie's nod, they took the safety off their weapons and locked the door, in case the raptors would come to the visitors center.
The tension was thick in the air, as they just waited for something to happen. Then Ellie turned to Ian and looked worried. "Do you think Alan's okay?" she asked him, as she didn't know what had happened to Alan. It could be possible that he had been killed and eaten by a raptor as well. A flashback of Ray Arnold's severed arm falling on her shoulder came back to her mind. And that made her terrified. They had been through so much together. Specially these last six months. If Alan was dead... "Stop it, Ellie! Don't think like that! Alan is NOT dead!" she thought quietly to herself.
Ian saw the worry written all over Ellie's face, so he laid his hand over Ellie's hand. "Alan's fine. He survived through an entire night outside in the park, while dinosaurs were running loose. And he will survive this time too. You'll see." he told her with a reassuring smile. Although if he would tell her the truth, he was afraid of the thought of Alan maybe being dead at the moment. He had a feeling that he himself wouldn't survive through this time at the island. As his gaze turned down towards his body, he looked at the gauze covering the gunshot wound in his gut and knew he would not be able to get away if a dinosaur would attack him at the moment.
Ellie looked down at the gauze on Ian's abdomen as well and knew exactly what Ian was thinking about. "Don't worry, Ian. I won't let anything bad happen to you. At least from now on." she told him with a reassuring smile. Although she couldn't promise his safety if something happened. But she would do anything in her power to keep him safe.
Ian shook his head at her. "Ellie. You can't protect me from dinosaurs. Specially not against raptors or T-Rexes. If we encounter any carnivorous dinosaurs, then run. Don't look back and don't try to save me. Just run. And don't try to argue with me. If I tell you to run, then you run as fast as you can."
Ellie shook her head. "Ian, no. I can't do that. I can't leave you to be eaten by dinosaurs."
"Yes you can, Ellie." Ian told her. "Just promise that you run when I tell you to run."
But Ellie shook her head again. "No. I can't."
"Why not?" Ian asked her, as he wanted nothing more than for her to be safe.
"Because I love you!" Ellie blurted out. She hadn't meant for it to be blurted out like that. But she couldn't stop the words from escaping her lips.
Ian stared wide-eyed at her for a moment, before he suddenly grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her down to him, as he kissed her lips deep and passionately. Ellie froze for a second, before she started to kiss him back passionately. And Ian's wound hurt like hell at the movement. But he tried to ignore the pain in his gut, as he focused on kissing Ellie. When they had to pull back for air, Ian smiled at Ellie. "You love me?"
Ellie smiled back at Ian and nodded. "I do."
"How long have you known you love me?" Ian asked her. He had no idea Ellie felt that way about him. Although he had known she was attracted to him. But that she loved him. That had come as a shock to him.
"I don't know. Maybe ever since the last time we were on Isla Nublar. Or it could have been when we spent time together in the hospital after you were injured the first time. I just realized recently that I do love you, Ian." Ellie told him with a shy smile.
Ian suddenly smiled back. "Good. Because I love you too. I've loved you since the first time I saw you six months ago, when we first met."
"You have?" Ellie smiled wider at that revelation. She had no idea that Ian had felt the same way as her. And for that long as well.
Ian nodded. "Why do you think I started flirting with you so soon after we met?" he asked her and smiled wider too.
Ellie smiled, before she leaned back down towards Ian and kissed him gently on his lips. And she felt him immediately return her kiss. Then her hand cupped his cheek, as she deepened their kiss. Before she had time to do anything more, she suddenly felt Ian wince. She pulled away from him and looked worried down at him. "Maybe this isn't the right time to do this."
"I think this is the right time to do this. If I don't make it, we'll always have this moment." Ian told her, before he kissed her knuckles, as he held her hand.
Ellie shook her head. "Don't say that, Ian. You will make it through this. And I don't want to hear you say otherwise. Okay?"
Ian nodded. "Alright. I'll do everything in my power to make it off this island alive." Although he couldn't promise her that, as he knew his injuries were so severe that it would be impossible to escape from a meat eating dinosaur.
------
As Alan ran through the jungle towards the visitors center, he thought back to how close he had just come to losing his life. If it hadn't been for one of James' men shooting the Velociraptor as it was flying in mid-air towards Alan, he would be dead right now, with his intestines hanging out. That was what had happened to the man, as he had focused on the wrong Raptor and hadn't noticed the other Raptor targeting him. Alan had then taken off running, as the others had focused on the Raptors and taken their eyes off of him. The Raptors had focused on James and his men, so none of them had taken off after Alan. He ran as fast as he could, while keeping an eye out for any dangerous dinosaurs. So far he hadn't seen any dinosaurs since the Raptors, so he was glad for that. Then he slowed down, when he felt he had ran far enough away from the Raptors. But then he came to a clearing, so he stopped running and looked around. And his eyes roamed over the clearing, until he spotted the Triceratops in the distance, so he could not help the smile from appearing on his face. He had flashbacks to six months ago when they had come across the same dinosaur after Dr. Harding had sedated her. Alan was glad to see she was okay now, as she walked around the clearing. A mighty roar made both Alan and the Triceratops startle, before the Triceratops took off to a safer place. As Alan stepped back into the cover of the trees, he looked around in the clearing, as he knew the T-Rex was very close. It didn't take long before the T-Rex stepped out into the clearing to the right of where Alan was standing. Alan was very careful to not move a muscle, as he didn't want the T-Rex to know he was there. The T-Rex looked around, before she walked across the clearing and disappeared into the jungle. And Alan let out a sigh of relief and waited a couple minutes, before he took off running in the opposite direction from the T-Rex.
A while later, as Alan came back to the visitors center, he sighed in relief when he knew he would be a lot safer inside the building. And he would be able to see how Ellie and Ian were doing. As he walked up the stairs, he wondered if Ian was still awake or if he had lost consciousness. When he arrived at the room where Ellie and Ian had last been seen, he saw that the door was closed, so he reached out to open it. But he frowned when he noticed the door was locked, so he knocked on it. It didn't take long before the door was unlocked and opened. And he saw that it was one of James' men who opened the door, so he took a step back, as he didn't know what the man would do to him.
"Where are the others?" the man asked Alan, as he looked in the corridor and saw that it was empty, except for Alan.
"They were attacked by Raptors. I managed to escape. But I don't know about what happened to the others." Alan told him, as he stepped inside the room. And he barely had time to react, before Ellie rushed over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.
"I'm so glad you're alive." Ellie told him, as she still hugged him.
Alan hugged her back. "Me too." Then he looked at Ian and saw that his eyes were closed and seemed to be sleeping. "How's Ian doing?" he asked, as he pulled back from the hug.
Ellie looked at Ian too. "He seems to be okay at the moment. But he needs to get to a hospital soon." she told him, as she was worried about Ian not making it. As she watched Ian, she saw that Ian was really pale from the blood loss.
Alan saw the worried look on Ellie's face, so he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Ellie. Ian will be okay." he told her reassuringly.
"I hope you're right." Ellie thought quietly, as she looked worried at Ian unconscious on the table.
