Chapter Text
Castiel’s POV - Two months later:
Castiel padded through the house picking up as he went—small things left by the boys or Dean here or there. Even Jack who was attempting to crawl had started making his little messes. Castiel found him so cute, that he had to stop himself from wrapping himself around his son and kissing his adorable cheeks. Castiel bent down to grab for a baby sock that his son must have lost when hands circled his waist making Castiel scream in laughter. He turned looking at his mate who must have snuck up behind him.
Castiel turned moving to hold Dean who beamed innocently pulling him into a heated kiss. He kissed back with love as Dean pressed him back against the wall holding his mate close. Dean’s fingers slid on the skin on his waist, which he exposed by holding him back. He pulled back smiling at his mate who nuzzled into him at his smile.
“Welcome home,” Castiel whispered as Dean hummed pressing him back into a loving kiss. “How was therapy?”
“Therapeutic.” Dean teased as Castiel chuckled.
“You dork.” Castiel playfully reached out ruffling his hair as Dean hummed contently taking him in.
“You are extra delicious lately, would it be those jeans you are wearing?” Dean hummed as Castiel playfully rolled his eyes.
“You say that every day.” Castiel snorted as Dean leaned in kissing his neck with care.
“I mean it every day.” Dean hummed as Castiel rolled his eyes moving to wrap his arms around his neck and looking up at him. His mate was adorable. “So…you busy for the next, oh, I don’t know. Ten minutes?” Dean glanced at his watch playfully.
“Ten minutes is ambitious.” Castiel teased.
“Ambitious? No, No. That’s me hurrying up. Which makes me sad because there is so much I want to do to you.” Dean hummed sliding his hand down Castiel’s stomach and into his pants. Castiel felt Dean’s hand cup his cock, moving his fingertips teasingly slow making Castiel softly moan.
“...I got to pick up the boys in a couple of minutes.” Castiel whimpered in pleasure, his legs gave at Dean’s roaming hand. Making him fall back against the wall, Dean eyed him pressing him up against it and using his knee to hold him up from collapsing.
“I already have Bobby on his way to pick them up,” Dean smirked down at his mate who softly blushed in the pleasure. Castiel breathed against Dean’s lips as they stared at each other. Castiel was already so hard from his touch alone. “And knowing you, the baby will be asleep for another half an hour or so-”
“Shit, I need you, you win.” Castiel cursed pulling Dean closer and making Dean beam. “Just don’t do that one thing so we don’t wake up the baby.”
“I like that one thing.” Dean frowned noticeably. “You are so loud and make the most delicious noises-”
“Then no sex-” Castiel teased moving to leave but Dean yanked him back to him.
“Fine. You win.” Dean grumbled pulling the satisfied Castiel into a rough desperate kiss, Castiel jumped up into his arms as he was roughly pinned against the wall in a fury of lust and need.

Two months later:
Castiel kept looking down at his watch as he cleaned the cooking mess he made in the kitchen trying to keep busy. His eyes moved towards the backyard where the twins and Claire were swimming for Claire’s birthday. Which was all Claire wanted to do for her birthday. Dean offered her other options, more expensive including dinner at one of his now five restaurants with Balthazar but her exact quote was, “Can we just do something at the house? I know it's lame but I’d love just to swim and have a homemade cake.”
Castiel happily agreed, he knew Claire most likely never had such a simple birthday party surrounded by loved ones where the cake was made with love. So they were going to make it the damn best birthday she ever had. Dean was working from home today for a couple of hours, he had been in heated conversations with his most prominent group of investors from Russia. The one language he couldn’t speak well. So Dean was more flustered and overwhelmed in his communication, not being his normal cool collected self.
Besides they wanted to get into the business of AI somehow within Dean’s company and Dean wasn’t about it at all. Dean called AI a horse and pony show compared to the human mind. Yes, he believed it could mimic human consciousness with rendered art and ideas. However, all those projects were soulless and couldn’t measure up to humans, they would never be enough.
Castiel heard the muffled angered tone throughout the house as he cleaned. Castiel heard soft tapping against the glass making him turn to look towards the pool. Jack had crawled over to the glass doors to the backyard, happily tapping the glass. Beast sat next to him watching Jack their tail wagging. Beast followed him like a mama bear keeping an eye on the child. The kids had noticed him, Sam climbing out of the pool to tap back on the glass on the other side making Jack giggle loudly. Castiel smiled seeing Sam kneel engaging with the baby before Sam opened the glass door to scoop him up.
“Can I take him in the pool? Just on the steps?” Sam asked as Castiel nodded. The kids had been sitting there talking the majority of the time. The pool was heated and it was a nice day out so he didn’t blame them. Castiel heard his watch going off which he silenced quickly, moving to leave the kitchen.
“Just no higher than his hips, okay?” Castiel smiled as Sam beamed taking the baby onto the stairs. Castiel gave a glance to see Jack screaming happily and splashing in the water on Sam’s lap. Beast followed them outside, happy to plop onto the water onto Adam who started laughing at the dog loving on him. Castiel continued down the hall heading upstairs to the master bathroom, he nervously looked towards the pregnancy test he had left on the sink. He stood at the door scared to go any closer. Castiel was older. Maybe he wouldn’t be lucky to get pregnant again.
There were signs though. He’s been craving fries like crazy. If he left the house for any reason, he returned with fries. If Dean was coming home, Castiel made him stop to get him fries. He’d also been super nauseous in the mornings. If he did, Dean got up to sit behind him rubbing his back with care till Castiel could stomach getting up.
But was it…signs he was pregnant again?
What if he was only meant to be lucky once?
Arms circled him from behind, and Castiel tensed for a second from being lost in thought. However, he smelled his mate’s cologne and relaxed back against him.
“I was going to suggest it too.” Dean breathed against his neck, resting his chin on his shoulder.
“What if I’m not?” Castiel mumbled. “...What if Jack was a miracle and I can’t have any more children?”
“Then we enjoy the kids we have.” Dean hummed softly. The kids they had. “Jack, Sam, Adam, and-”
“-Claire,” Castiel spoke as Dean glanced over at him tenderly. They both knew how much they loved her like their own daughter.
“I don’t like knowing she will age out of the system,” Dean stated so softly that Castiel almost didn’t hear him. Castiel sucked in the air at that.
Dean saw so much of himself in Claire. It was funny how oddly similar they were. Hiring Claire was the best thing they had ever done for both of them. Dean had been where she could give her advice and nudge her in the right direction. Claire had a mentor, someone she could confide in. She would ask him homework questions, and life questions and they even had their inside joke about grumpy cat Castiel didn’t understand.
“...I want to adopt her,” Dean stated. “I’ve been putting off her apartment searches because I wanted her to have a home to come home to while she gets her GED…and maybe even college. With parents who love her…I get she’s seventeen tomorrow and I know she’s almost an adult but-”
“She may not want to live with us past eighteen, but she still deserves parents to come home to whenever she wants,” Castiel whispered. “To see on holidays and birthdays. To hold her while she cries.” Castiel spoke. Dean said nothing just holding him tighter and burying his face into his neck for a long time before Dean sighed affectionately.
“Let’s see about our other little one, hm?” Dean let go of Castiel who didn’t move. Dean touched his spine with care before moving forward to check for him. Dean picked up the test looking down at the results saying nothing. Castiel’s heart started to break as Dean slowly turned to him smiling softly. That small smile made Castiel burst into tears happily moving to hold him. Castiel jumped into his arms kissing his face so happily.
“Thank you for making me the happiest person on the planet!” Castiel laughed as Dean spun him around.
“... I was going to say that. ” Dean breathed squeezing him tightly. Castiel smiled softly saying nothing as they enjoyed their embrace before Dean slowly lowered his mate. “Come on, I think it's time we cut cake and open presents don’t you think?” Castiel nodded as Dean hovered his hand over Castiel’s stomach. Castiel laughed softly touching Dean’s hand to his stomach.
“You can always touch me. As cute as it is, you don’t always have to ask.” Castiel confessed.
“I do,” Dean spoke honestly, kneeling he kissed Castiel’s stomach before standing. He tossed the pregnancy test into the trash. “Come on, it's a good time to cut cake don’t you think?”
“Hold on.” Castiel moved past him to Dean’s office, grabbing the folders he had wrapped inside. Dean raised an eyebrow to the papers.
“I didn’t realize you knew about them.” Dean chuckled as Castiel smiled softly.
“You can’t get anything past me, Winchester,” Castiel spoke. “I signed them when I found them. Confirmed there was nothing else we needed to do. Crowley said he has the originals and he’s already submitted them. I also have been working on her room, it's almost done. I’m just waiting for the chair to her vanity to come in. Now, are you ready to tell our daughter that she’s home?”
“God, I love you.” Dean hummed kissing Castiel’s forehead and moving to hug him.
“Come on, baby wants cake.” Castiel chuckled patting Dean’s chest and walking away. Dean happily almost bouncing off the walls after him.
Gathering the kids inside for cake was as easy as calling for them saying it was ‘Cake time’. The boys gathered around Claire as she blew out the candles for her seventeenth birthday. She had a slight sadness on her face as she took in the family adoration she was getting feeling like one of the Winchesters. The twins both tried to poke her face with the cake on their fingers which she swatted and avoided making them all laugh.
Castiel brought over the presents he had gotten for Claire. Dean told him to ‘go wild’ and he did. She opened things Castiel recalled her mentioning. Makeup, a leather jacket, a bunch of old collectible vinyls for bands she liked, and some snowboarding gear which she questioned slightly. For their upcoming trip to the snow. Claire knew she was coming to ‘assist’ with the baby, but had no idea she was just coming for the family trip to enjoy herself.
“Thanks…but I have nowhere to put it.” Claire hesitated. He could tell by her face she was slightly disappointed, thinking this was a temporary gift since she couldn’t keep it with her and she didn’t think she’d use it after the trip. Though she got excited when Dean mentioned teaching her before, she just thought this was eventually going to spare equipment for the house once they got tired of her.
“Dean keeps most of our gear in our second home, we go there two to three times a year since Dean loves to snowboard. We’ll take it with us when we go next week.” Castiel reassured as Claire nodded taking a bite of her cake. Castiel placed a large envelope on the counter in front of her. Claire tilted her head as she glanced at the adults.
“Go on, open it,” Dean spoke as the twins glanced just as confused. Claire moved opening the stack and glanced down at it but didn’t read it.
“What is it?” Claire asked.
“Read it.” Dean teased back.
“That’s a lot of words.” Claire snorted. “Where’s the too long, didn’t read option?”
“Just right here.” Castiel pointed to the words she needed to read as Claire leaned down to read it. She didn’t speak just staring at them breaking down into a mess of tears till she was ugly sobbing. Castiel moved to hold her nuzzling to her as Beast whimpered trying to comfort her as they laid their head on her lap. Her fingers entangled in their hair before Castiel hugged her. Allowing her to cry into his neck.
“R-Really?” Claire sobbed. “You better say sike if you are kidding.”
“You’re a Winchester already,” Dean hummed ruffling her hair as she held Castiel tighter. “We only made it official.”
“Sweet! Claire, now you can play with us all the time!” Sam spoke.
“Now you don’t have to worry about being alone anymore!” Adam beamed turning to Jack who started to cry. Dean scooped up the little tike onto his hip comforting him with care. She just held Castiel harder crying into his shoulder as Dean and Castiel exchanged loving looks.

Eight months later - Stockholder’s meeting:
Castiel stirred softly, burying his face in what he thought was his mate’s arm. Feeling the chest he laid against snapped him awake. No warmth…no breathing… weird fabric feel. Castiel shot up and yelped yanking away from a pillow that was famously called ‘the boyfriend pillow’ consisting of just a pillow that looked like the arm and chest of a man. Castiel glared instantly toward the direction of the bedroom door.
“Dean?!” Castiel called getting up. He held his stomach as he shuffled, almost ready to pop a baby bump. Dean bloody fucking Winchester. Castiel walked down the hall seeing the children’s bedrooms open which meant the kids weren’t sleeping. Where the fuck did they all go?
Castiel pulled out his phone, typing into it before putting it to his ear. No, no. He didn’t call Dean. Dean wouldn’t answer. He called the best person he could think of.
“Hello, Cas!” Sam laughed. Castiel heard Dean yelping at him to hang up as Claire playfully called him a traitor.
“Hang up!” Dean hissed trying to swat Sam’s phone away. “Adam stop him.”
“I’m not dying for you,” Adam commented as Dean groaned.
“Jack, attack!” Dean snorted as Jack smacked Sam with his foam bat.
“Ouch!” Sam laughed, it didn’t hurt but it was funny watching Jack smack him. “Jack, stop it.”
“Where did my childish husband take my children?” Castiel asked as Sam giggled.
“He’s taking us to Santa Cruz for a day trip,” Sam explained. “I tried to say no, you’d kill him.”
“Judas!” Dean laughed at Sam who beamed ear to ear.
“We’re on Highway 17 passing Lexington Hills,” Claire spoke loudly so Castiel could hear.
“E tu, Brutus?” Dean choked as Claire stuck out her tongue. Castiel raised an eyebrow to that. He planned for this. Luckily for him, he was about to pop out a baby.
“...Sam, you’re going to lie and tell your brother my water broke. Then when I hang up, act like you can’t get ahold of me.” Castiel beamed sweetly. Sam was a ride-or-die buddy. He understood the assignment.
“Your water broke?” Sam asked loudly and horrified as though he was going for an Oscar. He heard Dean slightly swerve. Castiel smirked to himself hung up and went merrily to make breakfast, ignoring the obnoxious amount of missed calls from Dean, Sam, Adam, and Claire. He wasn’t surprised when Dean ran in like a bat out of hell, running past Castiel, who was happily chewing on his pancakes in his suit for the event. The kids came in, Claire gave him a glance shaking her head affectionately at his ruze.
“I think he broke the sound barrier getting here.” Claire laughed. “And had maybe three heart attacks.”
“That’s what he gets for avoiding the stockholders meeting,” Castiel muttered taking another bite as Dean flew down the stairs panting holding the overnight bag. Dean glanced at Castiel who was rubbing his stomach with care continuing to eat in silence.
“Good Morning,” Castiel spoke casually as Dean panted roughly.
“Mama!” Jack called free from the car seat and bolted over to him as Castiel softly picked up his son. Taking in how much he looked like a combination of his parents. Castiel touched his cheek with care lovingly before smushing his face in kisses. Dean walked over to Castiel with worry.
“Are you okay?” Dean asked as Castiel glanced at Jack.
“Attack,” Castiel spoke as Jack smacked Dean with the foam bat.
“Hey.” Dean yelped shielding himself as Castiel smirked in satisfaction. Jack giggled loudly as Castiel called him off.
“That’s what you get for running off!” Castiel snapped pulling Dean’s ear who whined.
“Ouchy,” Jack spoke sympathetically seeing Dean whining, Jack touched his ear.
“Daddy is fine, baby.” Castiel cooed to Jack.
“Yeah, Jack, this is foreplay-” Dean yelped when Castiel slammed his heel onto his foot grinding his heel into it. Dean whined as Castiel turned away.
“ Not. Around. The. Baby. ” Castiel threatened.
“I’ll be good!” Dean cried as Castiel slowly raised his foot much to Dean’s relief. Castiel patted Dean’s cheek before walking back towards his pancakes offering some to Jack. Jack opened his mouth happily to the offer.
“Ooh. Dean is in trouble.” Sam laughed as Dean glared playfully at him.
“At least I’m not a snitch.” Dean pouted like a child as Castiel glared towards him.
“We’re more scared of him than we are you,” Adam admitted as Dean whined.
“I’d be mad if I also wasn’t scared by him,” Dean admitted begrudgingly.
“Then why antagonize him so?” Adam asked.
“Because I’m a masochist,” Dean grumbled barely avoiding the pancake chucked at his head.
“Not around the baby!” Castiel glared.
“I was KIDDING,” Dean whined but Castiel raised an eyebrow at that but said nothing more walking over and shoveling a pancake bit into Dean’s mouth. “...This is good. Is that chocolate chips?” The twins shook their heads that the fight was over with something as simple as a pancake, even Beast seemed to roll their eyes.
“Your favorite.” Castiel hummed lovingly.
“I thought you hated the combo?” Dean asked.
“Baby doesn’t.” Castiel looked down. “Wants nothing but sugar like their daddy.”
“Taking after Daddy.” Dean beamed hovering a hand over Castiel’s belly who playfully turned away not allowing him. Dean pouted so noticeably lowering his hand that Castiel caved moving his baby bump back to him. He was so stoked, he happily rubbed the baby bump once Castiel placed his hand onto it.
“I wish they were more like Daddy and want to leave to avoid the stockholder’s meeting too,” Castiel grumbled making Dean beam. “Daddy and I are going if that’s any encouragement.”
“Are we?” Dean grumbled as Castiel cupped his chin tightly in his hand.
“You have yet to miss one. Does that answer your question?” Castiel kissed him with care.
“But labor…” Dean paused eyeing him still holding the overnight bag as Castiel stood blinking at him. “...You tricked me.” Dean groaned dropping the bag on the floor.
“Abso-fucking-lutely I did.” Castiel chuckled moving to put Jack down when he made a soft moan of surprise standing right at a small wave of pain that ran through him, rubbing his stomach as he let out a deep breath. “...Get dressed…Go.” He hid it well, ushering Dean to get dressed and smiling through it. Dean pouted stomping up the stairs as Castiel glanced down at his stomach. That…he was sure was the first contraction. That’s…going to be an issue for the rest of the night and the stockholder’s meeting. “...You really are your father’s child.”
“You okay?” Sam asked grabbing a soda from the fridge as Castiel turned to Sam.
“I think I’m in labor,” Castiel spoke as Sam blinked in concern.
“...Should I call someone?” Sam questioned seriously popping open his soda.
“I got this.” Adam rolled up his sleeves and squatted beside Castiel like he was going to catch a ball. Castiel playfully pushed him away. Adam laughed snorting as he got up.
“I’m fine. I got plenty of time to go to the event and let Dean give his speeches.” Castiel shrugged. “Kissing babies and gunk before we go to the hospital.”
“What if the baby is born on the stockholder’s meeting date-” Adam laughed.
“Over my dead body,” Castiel stated sternly.
“Cas, you can’t decide something like that.” Sam laughed.
“Watch me.” Castiel glared rubbing his baby bump. “Baby, wait till midnight.”
“Dean could just move the date of the event if the baby is born today-” Adam offered.
“No, Dean will see it as a win forever if we do,” Castiel growled raising his fist. “This baby is staying put till midnight and not a moment later! Got it pipsqueak?!” Castiel pointed to his bump as Claire put on the TV for Jack who started to dance to some kid's show. “Sam put the overnight bag in the limo. I have a feeling we are going straight to the hospital after. Go keep Bobby in the loop. Sam picked the baby bag off the floor and walked out to the limo.
“Alright, I’m ready and I dislike this already.” Dean breathed moving down the stairs. Castiel turned to look at his mate who looked so fucking delicious- Castiel closed his eyes to a contraction that stopped his perverted thoughts. Cas, you’re ALREADY pregnant and suffering the effects of climbing that man like a fucking tree. Chill. “Ready to go?”
Castiel paused slightly before he noticed Sam returned giving him a slight nod. Bobby was informed. The bag was in the car.
“Alright kids, be good.” Castiel kissed the kid's foreheads. Jack being too small, Dean got the hint picking him up for Castiel to kiss. Jack giggled as Castiel cupped his face smushing kisses to it.
“Mama! No!” Jack giggled playfully pushing his face away before Dean swooped him into a mess of tickles. Dean put him down and Jack immediately ran to Claire on the couch who playfully scooped him up snuggling into him. Jack giggled in her arms as Claire squished him close.
“You be good okay? Order a pizza if you get hungry.” Castiel spoke as he moved to walk out with Dean. Bobby held the door open for them to the limo as Castiel climbed in heading to the event with the very-not-willing Dean in tow.
__________________________________________________________________________
Castiel stared longly at the wine being handed out, he was super uncomfortable. Every so often a contraction would hit and he would swallow back the pain. He had greeted everyone, shook hands, avoided baby bump touches, and mentally swallowed all the wine he had passed today. He wanted this over already. This baby was coming sometime very soon. He was not having a good time. Castiel felt a rush of water from him and in a panic to cover Castiel slapped Dean’s drink from his hand, it fell onto them both spilling onto the bottom half of them and on the floor. And when he said slapped, he meant roughly slam-dunking the drink from his hand like his life depended on it.
“Sorry-” Castiel choked but Dean was already apologizing.
“Sorry, my love. I’m a klutz.” Dean laughed at the stockholders he had been addressing. “It looks like I avoided most of the mess, but I feel my lovely mate got the brunt of it.” Dean picked up the drink off the floor.
“It’s okay, I-I’ll be right back.” Castiel turned casually moving towards the bathroom. He glanced to make sure Dean wasn’t looking before he pulled out his phone and texted Bobby as he moved to the single bathroom. Castiel waited for the soft secret knock before he opened the door.
“Here are the new pants you requested,” Bobby spoke as Castiel snatched them happily.
“Thank you.” Castiel hummed.
“Don’t you want to go to the hospital? I’m not sure how this happens but I think your water breaking is a good indicator.” Bobby questioned.
“I got through the meet and greet, and we are just in time for Dean’s speech. Once we finish, we can head out.” Castiel reassured as he felt a contraction that shivered up his spine.
“Are you-” Bobby worried looking at his watch.
“I’m counting. Don’t worry.” Castiel nodded handing over his wet pants, Bobby took it. “I’m making sure this baby comes out tomorrow.”
“I don’t think we can decide that.” Bobby laughed.
“If I have to fight god himself to prevent this baby from becoming a stockholder’s excuse, I will.” Castiel glared. Bobby laughed fearful of his wraith.
“I believe even god himself fears you.” Bobby glanced away.
“He better,” Castiel growled glaring at the heavens like a THREAT.
“Oh, speaking of which. Dean is starting his speech.” Bobby turned as Castiel exited the bathroom once he switched his pants.
“Wait with the engine running, we are leaving the second the applause starts,” Castiel grumbled moving to walk away, Bobby saluted but followed through with the request. Castiel stood in the back row leaning against the pillar rubbing his stomach soothingly.
Dean was in his element up there. Just like their first stockholder’s meeting, he found himself in awe of him. Castiel smiled fondly seeing Dean cast him a glance. His eyes lingered on him. God, how could he keep falling in love with him? Every time he thought he fell for him totally and completely, he would find a new way to keep falling. To think they would be here today. He never thought that a chance encounter with Charlie would…change his life forever.
How he wished he could go back to that depressed shell he used to be and tell him about the wonderful love story he was going to find himself in. To reassure him that everything would be okay.
A contraction hit and he grunted in pain, loud enough to get some people’s attention. Dean seemed to notice as well, his words trailing off for a moment as he noticed Castiel wincing. Shit, he stopped counting those and didn’t prepare for that one. Castiel tried to smile and hide it but Dean continued his speech rather quickly. Castiel could tell because he skipped a good chunk of his speech. Quickly going over his new inventions and improvements to the old before cutting it short.
“Sorry everyone, I need to be short and sweet with this, because I believe a little Winchester has decided to be born today. Thank you for your patience and understanding.” Dean beamed earning awes as people turned to look at Castiel. Dean hopped off the stage into the crowd before moving to his mate. “How far apart?”
“Lost count.” Castiel winced as Dean scooped him up carrying him towards the limo.
_____________________________________________________________________
The labor was intensive, Castiel cursing up a storm. Wanting both the baby to get out but also to stay till midnight. He kept saying he wasn’t going to let Dean win, and that this baby wasn’t coming till tomorrow. However, soft crying welcomed the world at 11:59 PM. The doctor smiled holding their baby to them.
“Looks like you got yourselves a little girl. The baby was born at 11:59-” The doctor spoke as Castiel shot a cursing glare at him and the doctor shivered in fear. “Ah! Oops! Look at the time! I mean midnight. Yep. You got yourself a midnight baby.” Castiel's rage melted into happiness as their daughter was lowered into his arms.
“Hi, Amelia.” Dean breathed touching her cheek as Castiel nuzzled into their little girl. Amelia…His mother’s name. They had discussed it before but the sound of the name made Castiel weak. A sobbing mess of love and tears holding her close to his skin. Taking in her dark almost black hair and pale skin as Castiel refused to let her go.

Two months later:
“Jack, stay by Mommy,” Castiel called to the toddler as he grabbed his grave cleaning supplies from the van with little Amelia strapped to his chest. He always visited his parents’ graves, regularly for maintenance but the maintenance had been a bit with maternity leave and pregnancies. He dreaded to see how it looked since he hadn’t been back in over six months. With Claire was out with friends, and the twins were playing video games, Castiel took the opportunity to step away with the youngest to do this. Castiel walked up to the graves prepared for the worst but paused seeing Dean scrubbing the gravestone. He hadn’t noticed Castiel as he worked the grave with a sponge. The grave was beautiful and spotless. Even Castiel was impressed by the effort Dean took to rid of the moss that had grown onto it. Jack walked beside him before running towards him.
“Daddy!” Jack laughed bolting towards Dean slamming him into a hug.
“Hey kiddo!” Dean beamed putting down the sponge, wiping his soapy hands onto his pants before smothering Jack into a hug and kisses.
“Dean?” Castiel’s voice made Dean pause slowly turning to look at his mate. “I…I thought you had a meeting.”
“...” Dean said nothing for a long time just staring at him. Tears filled Castiel’s eyes as he realized. Dean…had been maintaining the graves when Castiel no longer could.
“H-...How?” Castel choked.
“...Charlie told me where they were,” Dean mumbled looking at the graves.
“When did you start?” Castiel asked as he slowly kneeled next to him.
“When you stopped going around the sixth month with Jack,” Dean admitted. “It was monthly cleanings, weekly maintenance to check on them. It kind of became a habit. You minded the children, so…I thought this is the least I could do.” Castiel took his hand as Dean smiled down at their sleeping daughter on his chest. Castiel softly smiled at his mate pressing a soft kiss to his forehead before laying his head on Dean’s shoulder.
“...Thank you.” Castiel breathed as Dean said nothing more pressing a kiss to the top of Castiel’s head as they sat in front of the grave. “Mom, Dad. This…This is Dean. My mate…the man who helped me overcome my rot and live again.”
“Hi, mom and dad.” Dean breathed softly. Jack tilted his head giggling at his mother as Castiel leaned over touching his cheek.
“So much has happened since you…passed, I never really talk when I’m here…but I’m going to from now on and when I come back I want to bring our oldest Claire, and the twins with me to properly meet your grandkids…but for now…this cutie is our little Jack.” Castiel softly ruffled Jack’s hair and then looked down at their sleeping daughter's head. “And this…is our newest edition, Amelia.” Castiel stared at the graves slowly holding his mate's soapy hand and squeezing it. “...you don’t have to worry anymore…I’m okay. Honestly and truly okay.”
Dean sat with Castiel listening as he told his parents their love story and the happiness they obtained in the most unexpected places.
The end.
