The incessant noise of the ring tone of her phone was /almost/ enough to make Koga throw the damn thing into the wall, but she knew she didnt have the money to get a new one if she did. Mumbling swear words under her breath, she grabs her phone, unplugs it from the charger, and rolls onto her back to try and make out who could possibly be calling at... 3pm?!
Of course, she slept in late again. Whatever, she just needs to pick up before whoever is calling goes to voice mail and hears the old message she left from her time as a cringey first year. God, she needs to change it soon. Squinting her eyes, she could see it was none other than Ritsu..
What could Ritsu possibly want from her? To bother her? Tease her? To call her a corgi again? Regardless of the reason, she picked up the phone and in her best "I didnt just wake up 2 minutes ago" voice, she hit the receive call button, missing a few times in the process.
"What the hell do ya want, Rit-chii?", she ended up saying under her breath, only now realising how hoarse and raspy her throat was.
Glossing over the sassy tone of the former, this softer and peppier voice spoke, "Oh, Good morning Corgi!! I was just calling to tell you I was going to be stopping by to say hi! I hope thats alright!"
"Wait Rit-chii! Ya know how much of a.."
She took a pause, lifting herself into a sitting position, making a grunt as she did, to look around the room and her apartment as a whole. The stray bottles of soda and wrappers littered the floor, creating a perminate quarter shin high pile across her floor. She has been in a bad depression for the past month or so, hardly able to get herself out of bed to shower. The smell in her room was putrid to anyone other than herself and Koga was utterally ashamed of anyone seeing the high and mighty wolf living like a slob.
She hushed her voice to be softer, almost inaudible, "Ya know how much of a... mess... my apartment is at the moment. Ya know whats been-"
Ritsu cut her off, speaking before she could finish her sentance.
"I know, Corgi. I am comming over to help you. 'Clutter of the home is clutter of the mind', so I thought helping you clean up might lift your spirits a bit!"
Koga couldnt help but feel her heart grow warm from someone wanting to help her, but also fear in the fact that if Ritsu saw how awful her place was, she would run for the hills and never come back. But, she trusted the vampire. I mean, of course she did. Ritsu was the first person she opened up to about what she was going through, mostly because her pride convinced her that anyone else would mock her.
"I- As much as I'd love the help, 'M not sure if ya, um, could handle it.." She said the last part of the sentance quietly, almost embarrassed to say it might be too much.
"You underestimate me. I am positive we can do it, together. I'll be there in a minute!" With that, Ritsu took the innitiative to hang up the phone, leaving Koga to put down her phone and start to panic over someone, anyone, seeing her home like this. After a few minutes that felt like a life time, she heard the soft tap-tap-tap on her front door, almost entirely covered by random shit thrown there keeping it closed.
"Can I come in?" The vampire spoke, muffled through the door. Part of Koga wanted to not say anything to see if in hope, it would make Ritsu get bored and walk away, but that would be rude.
"Yeah.. Open the door!" was barked from the other side, causing Ritsu's hand, which was already on the door nob, to turn and push into the door. With some resistance from the objects behind the door, she was able to shove herself past and into the foyer, or what was meant to be the foyer. Here, the mess wasnt as abundant, but it still caused the girl to trip a bit, before catching herself on the wall.
"Oh Corgi! This isnt nearly as bad as you described it! We will be fine!"
Koga, still laying in bed, felt her stomach fill with a churning feeling.
Just wait untill ya see the rest..
The grey haired girl took the step to getting up to greet her girlfriend, regardless of how unkempt she looked. Her shoulder length hair, usually tied into a pony tail, was a matt at the base of her neck. The clothes she had on were the same clothes she had worn for the past few days as she laid in bed. Her eyes growing dull from the lack of sunlight she had been receiving, due to her black out curtians making it impossible to see sunlight, therefore causing Koga to lose her sense of time. The deepening bags under her eyes showing the many sleepless nights she has pushed through. God, she really was in a rough state.
She waddled through the mass of items, through her bedroom door, and into her living room, and to the other girl, giving her girlfriend the hug of a lifetime as soon as their reaches met. Ritsu hugged her just as tight, regardless of how she looked and probably how she smelled. Koga looked back at her darling's face, seeing one of worry and sadness that was attempting to be masked by joy. The wolf's hands jolted to the other's face, her hands cold and calloused from all her time playing the guitar before getting like.. this.
"Ya okay Rit-chii?"
"Of course I am, but I just wish I could have helped sooner."
That last part made Koga's heart sting with a bite of guilt that washed over her entire being. It wasn't anyone's fault, especially not Ritsu's, for her mental state, and her home, getting to this point. If she made her girlfriend feel responsible for all of this, she would rather have rotted away in the bed where she laid before.
"Rit-chii, I promise ya, none of this is yer fault. If anyone is ta blame, it's gotta be me."
Without another word spoken from the smaller girl, she took Koga's hand and walked towards the bathroom, which was surprisingly one of the cleaner places in the house. It wasn't very large, but it was enough room for what Ritsu was planning on doing.
"Corgi, two things. One, how long has it been since you have last showered?"
God, here we go. Now she was going to get judge for how long it's been since shes showered.
"Maybe.. 2 n a half weeks? 'm sorry, I know I gotta take em mo-"
Cutting her off once again, Ritsu spoke.
"You do not need to appologize, dear. Two, do you mind getting undressed? I will turn around if that will make you more comfortable, but I just want to make absolute sure you will get clean while I am here."
The second question was a bit more startling then the first, making Koga's face flush a soft pink from embarrassment. How could she be so pathetic that her girlfriend needs to act like her mother and baby her? What kind of a wolf was she? Before she could even finish her loathing, her mind sped up faster than her mouth could handle, causing her to trip up on her words.
"Uh- Yes! Y-Yes I can. Just turn around.. Please!"
With that, Ritsu turned and covered her eyes with the palm of her hand, as behind her, Koga was getting undressed and sat down in the bathtub, her legs infront of her chest, in the fetal position. Hearing her girlfriend step into the bath tub and finish getting settled, she turned around and uncovered her eyes. She, of course, would never judge her darling for anyway she looked and Koga knew Ritsu would make absolutely sure she would be comfortable during this whole process.
The vampire rolled up the sleeves of her sweatshirt, reaching up to grab the shower head from above the bathtub and pulling it down for a bit later. She turned on the water from the fauset, touching the water to make sure it was a comfortable temperature before it reached Koga. Closing the drain, she waited as the bathtub slowly filled with warm water, which made her girlfriend visibly relax, dropping her shoulders and letting out a soft sigh that was pent up in her chest.
With the water at the girl's waist, the shower head was turned on, being used to get Koga's hair wet. It was a bit cute, she was very akin to a dog that had just been let in from a bad rainstorm outside. Ritsu leaned over, giving her a small peck on the cheek, again causing her girlfriend to melt a bit more into comfortibility.
Working slowly to not rush anything, she took some of the shampoo on the shelf in her hands, rubbing it in her hands before gently rubbing her lover's hair, making sure to get out the grease and roughness out. After scrubbing it in into Koga's scalp, she grabbed a hair brush left on the bath room floor and conditioner and started to try and run the brush through what hair she could.
Ritsu was very devoted to Koga, in more ways then one. Ritsu was willing to sit and listen to Koga rant about all of the things bothering her, regardless of the amount of time the she-wolf spent apologizing for it after. As well as being so devoted as to spend atleast an hour trying to get out most of the knots from her hair, only stopping because some of them were a tad bit too much for her to handle while her hair is wet.
All of the pulling and yanking at her hair was painful, yeah, but Koga saw it as punishment. Punishment for letting her hair get this bad, punishment for her getting her life in such a state. She kept tearing up at the sharp pain littering her scalp, trying to play it off as water dripping down her face from her wet hair. But Ritsu knew. She knew the kind of person she chose to date. She knows her beloved would see this as a good thing that she's feeling all this pain, that she deserves it. Seeing her girlfriend tear up from the aches in her head was making her feel so bad.
"Corgi, are you okay? Your eyes look like youre about to cry.."
Shit, it was that obvious?
"Yeah yeah Rit-chii! I'm already feeling better! Ya could keep going if ya wa-"
Cutting her off, Ritsu spoke in a more serious tone, "Corgi, none of this was your fault. You didn't do anything wrong."
Koga was, oddly pained by hearing her girlfriend say such things. The fact that she has to reassure her like this, the fact that she had to do any of this.. made her heart burn with guilt all over again. She unintentionally let out a soft noise, almost like a dog whining, and dropped her eyes to the water in the bathtub, not daring to look up at Ritsu.
"Corgi, I love you. I just want to see you get better, and I want to help you, no matter what I have to do to help fix everything thats going on, you know?"
The room grew quiet, only the sound of the shower head hitting the side of the tub making a soft muffled rain noise. Koga softly nodded her head, unable to speak without bawling her eyes out. Ritsu saw she was about to cry again and leaned over, cupped her face, and kissed her everywhere she could reach. Her forehead, her cheeks, her lips, anywhere she could kiss to try and make her feel better. Pulling her face away, she looked at Koga's eyes as all the tears flowed out of them like a waterfall, but she wasnt even upset anymore. She just felt so loved to the point where she just couldnt help but cry.
Once all the tears were out, Ritsu spoke again. "Here, let's get you out of here," rising from her knealed position on the floor hearing Koga make a noise of agreement.
She took the shower head, washing all of the product from Koga's hair, being very sure that it wouldnt get into her eyes. The two girls sat there for a minute, the heat of the bath starting to make Ritsu sweat.
The smaller girl brushed off her knees with her palms and grabbed a body towel from the rack above her head, holding it out infront of her while looking away. Hearing as her girlfriend stepped out of the tub and pressed her chest into the towel, she hugged it around her, using this opportunity to close her arms in and give her partner a proper hug. Over all, Koga felt much better. Her hair felt so much lighter and softer, her girlfriend was giving her a hug that she so desperatly needed, especially from her, and everything felt a bit brighter and more comfortable.
When they released from their embrace, Ritsu could feel the wet squish of her clothes from her girlfriend's wet arms. God damn it.. That hug was so worth it though! A soft giggle was shared between the two girls as they walked from the bathroom onto Koga's bed, the taller girl sitting on her bed with a towel, and her smaller girlfriend, grabbing them both new sets of clothes to change into. Ritsu threw the wolf's set of clothes at her, causing a joking outburst of "WHAT THE HELL?!" getting spwed out, causing the vampire to crack up.
After a minute of getting dressed, the two girls just laid in bed for a small bit, embracing eachother like they had wanted to since this all started. Now, the mess didnt feel so scary. Now, the embarrassment didnt feel as strong. Now, the light was growing closer within her reach. Maybe they just needed a moment together. The mess, unfortunately, isnt going anywhere. A nap wouldnt hurt, thats for sure. Especially with her girlfriend laying right next to her, her breathing soft and gentle, as her eyes slowly fluttered shut for one of her common afternoon naps. Typical Rit-chii, always sleepy. There was something so cute about it that Koga could never put her finger on..
Eh, she can think about it later. Maybe that nap doesnt sound so bad right now. Maybe, they could clean up later.
