Work Text:
Kohane was waiting in front of a café, looking out for other Vivid Bad Squad members. Today they wanted to hang out together, without making any plans about their music or practising, instead getting to know other sides of everyone.
It was An who came up with the idea, but the other girl had an important objective today. She hoped that this kind of spending time would help her to decrease the distance between herself and one of the boys, Akito.
She always had problems talking to people, especially boys, but there was something about the red-haired male that was especially intimidating to her.
Kohane jumped up startled when she heard a voice that belonged to the one she was thinking of.
"Yo, Kohane... Early as always, huh?" the boy greeted her. "Let's not stand here like this... We should go take a seat."
The girl followed him inside and they found a vacant table. They ordered food for themselves and waited for the rest of the group to come.
Suddenly Kohane's phone rang.
"An is calling..." she explained and answered the phone.
"Kohane, this is bad! There's a hamst- I mean, a cat stuck in a tree and Toya is the only tall person around!" An's suspiciously cheerful voice resounded through the phone.
"Yes. I am determined to help it." Toya commented, sounding really serious.
"We'll be late for the meeting... Good luck~" the girl added and hung up.
"A hamster in a tree..." Akito scoffed. "Anyway, that poor little kitten must be scared, we'll let them help, right?" he looked at the girl with a smirk that Kohane couldn't quite decipher.
"R-right..." she mumbled and went quiet. "This is bad..." she thought. "How am I supposed to be with him alone...?"
Fortunately, at that moment the waiter brought the food. Kohane looked at how Akito stuffed his cheeks with cheesecake, too focused on the cake to talk to her, and started eating her dessert.
After the two finished their food, Kohane looked down, at the table. She was scared to keep the eye contact...
Oh no, what if he thinks she doesn't like him? She has to prevent that...!
Kohane looked at the boy and opened her lips to say something, but she froze when she saw the mocking smirk on his face.
"What's wrong? Are you scared of the big, bad boy?" Akito teased, but his face went to serious after a moment. "Listen, Kohane..." he sighed. "I don't bite. What did I do for you to act like this?"
Kohane blushed. So he noticed...
"Let's talk about it outside, it's too loud here." He got up, paid for the food and grabbed the girl's wrist to lead her out of the building. She whimpered and followed him timidly.
"I don't want you to be so cold with me... I'll just set it straight. I like you, Kohane."
The girl's eyes widened, a blush covered her face. "Y-you do...? You mean... You're in love with me...?"
"Yeah, I am. So? Will you be my girlfriend?"
Kohane couldn't believe it... How was it possible that someone like him was interested in her...?
"B-but I'm not cute, pretty or anything like-"
The girl gasped when Akito slammed his hand on the wall next to her head.
"That's not for you to decide. I think you're cute and pretty and much more, and what others say doesn't matter."
She could feel her heart pounding. One look at the resolve in his eyes was enough to know he was serious about her...
"Would you run away if I kissed you now?"
Kohane slowly shook her head.
"Good."
The boy grabbed her chin with his other hand and made her look at him. She could feel his warm breath on her face...
Akito leaned down, their lips met. She didn't know he could be so soft... The kiss was short, but for Kohane it was sweeter than anything she had ever tasted...
After he broke the kiss, the girl shyly hugged him. He reciprocated the embrace and leaned his chin on her head.
She felt safe in the boy's strong arms, his soft clothes made him so pleasant to hug.
"I love you too, Akito..." the girl whispered into his chest, but it was enough for the boy to hear.
"That's my girl," he smirked and let go of her.
Suddenly Kohane's phone rang again.
"Sooo? How is it going, Kohane? Do you have him yet~?" An laughed. "I'm sure you're too cute to resist for him!"
Kohane gasped when Akito grabbed her phone with force. "You were supposed to be quiet. And just so you know, only I can call my girl cute..." he growled and hung up.
"Tch... They didn't need to disturb us..." he spoke irritated.
Kohane looked at the boy with an asking look on her face, confused by the other girl's behaviour.
"Don't look at me like that... Just ignore her, okay?" he smirked and kissed her again, successfully distracting her. The plan was supposed to be secret, after all!
