Work Text:
Stepping out of the building at night, Sensei walked a few metres ahead until he was stopped by an unexpected visitor.
“Good morning, Sensei,” a girl called out to him. Her eyes, a strikingly dark red, met with Sensei’s. Lavender-coloured braided hair fell from under her white hooded jacket.
“Oh, Atsuko,” Sensei replied, “Good morning. What brings you here?”
The girl expressed confusion.
“Did you not get my MomoTalk message, Sensei?”
Pulling out his phone from his jean pocket, the man looked at an unread message sent by the girl in front of him. It read ‘I’m coming over again.’
“Oh. I guess I was too preoccupied with work,” Sensei answered, “I was just going out to get something from Angel24. Did you want to come along?”
Atsuko shook her head.
“I’ll just wait inside. I want to check up on the flowers.”
“Sure thing. I’ll be back soon.”
Atsuko smiled and gave Sensei a wave.
After purchasing a cheap energy drink, Sensei returned to Schale to witness Atsuko crouched over the flower bed, humming quietly to herself.
“I’m back,” he announced. The girl immediately turned in his direction and stood up, waking straight to him.
“Welcome back, Sensei. I see you’ve been taking very good care of those flowers.”
“I did promise you, after all.”
“That you did,” Atsuko smiled. She then looked at the drink in Sensei’s hand.
“Isn’t that brand pretty weak? I heard from Sacchan and the others that you normally get a stronger one.”
“Well,” Sensei laughed nervously, “I’ve had to cut back on purchases after all that happened.”
“Is that so?” Atsuko pondered, bringing one hand to her chin and tilting her head. Almost comically, she then pounded a closed fist on her other open hand. She reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out a wallet and withdrew a 500 yen coin.
“Sensei,” she began, “I’d like to thank you once again for saving us – for saving Kivotos.”
She forcefully handed the man the coin.
“A-Atsuko?”
“The money is for being everyone’s hero.”
She placed her hands on Sensei’s shoulders, pushing his stature down a little.
“And this is for tonight.”
There was a wicked look in Atsuko’s eyes just before she closed them. Her face moved closer to Sensei who tried to shake her off, but the grip she had on him was hard to escape. He continued to call out to the girl, who continued to ignore his pleas. As their lips were inches away from contact, Sensei managed to turn his head just in time to feel a soft sensation on his cheeks. Pulling away after this action and letting go of his shoulders, Atsuko had a grin on her face.
“So close,” she teased, a slight blush on her face.
“A-A-Atsuko,” Sensei stuttered, “Wh-What was that for?”
“It’s for tonight. Well, isn't it better than a cheap energy drink?”
“I… can’t really deny that.”
Atsuko chuckled softly.
“I’ll see you around, Sensei,” she bid farewell to the flustered man.
