Eddie just wanted to go wherever Richie was going to be. He’d wanted nothing more then, and he wants nothing more now, and the call of another coast is nothing more than the ghost of his mother, the whisper that he isn’t brave enough to take what he wants, that he’s not deserving, that he’d be safer back in stupid Derry, clown-less now but no less miserable. Eddie has spent his entire life filled with want, bursting at the seams with desire.
