Link spent time in the Zora's Domain, mostly catching fish in the rivers, and talking with his best friend, Sidon. However, since Sidon was busy, Link had been alone for the past few hours before returning to the domain. He had several fish that he was going to sell to a few traveling merchants.
Of course, he had given some to the merchants in the domain.
"Link." He turned and spotted Bazz standing in the middle of the walkway, surprised that Link was right before him. "What are you doing here?"
Link was mildly confused by the question itself. "What do you mean? I'm catching fish," he said, holding an electric fruit in his hand. "I have my methods, unless you think I'd use a fishing rod."
"No," Bazz shook his head. "That…isn't what I meant. Nevermind." He walked away, and Link was confused by what was going on. He decided to visit Kayden and Kodah who worked at the inn.
"I don't understand, we've known each other since we were kids and he…treats me like I'm some kind of stranger," Link said, pouting, and eating one of the fishes he had caught earlier. He just cooked it and placed seasoning on the skewer as he sat within the inn with Kodah.
He was childhood friends with both Kayden and Kodah like he was childhood friends with Bazz and many other guardsmen in the Zora's Domain.
"Bazz takes his job seriously, Linny," Kodah said, kneeling down to look at Link, "ever since Sidon was given the title of King, he's been more strict lately. Even when the sludge happened. Bazz is the Captain of the Guard, he's just…fumbling around. Give him time."
Link nodded slowly, eating his food and contemplating everything she said. A few days went by, and Link was on his way out to look for a few merchants who'll take the fish he caught.
"Link!"
He turned and spotted Bazz making his way over to him. He seemed more nervous than usual.
"Hey," Link said, giving him a smile, "I'm on my way out, I'll see you later, okay."
"I…uh, Link, sorry for how I treated you of late," Bazz said. "I didn't mean to make you feel that I was avoiding you or anything. It's taking me awhile to adjust to everything, and I feel like I'm trying to learn how to speak again."
Link knew the feeling. "Don't worry about it. I'll be back soon, Bazz. Okay, maybe we can hang out then."
"Like old times," Bazz said as if he hadn't wanted Link to hear that, and grew more nervous.
The memories from back then remained hazy, but Link knew what he meant, "Yes, like old times."
"Then I'll wait for your safe return, Link," Bazz said, straightening up and grinning.
"See you around, Bazz," Link waved, and headed out of the domain.
