Chapter Text
The silence at the breakfast table only lasted for a few peaceful minutes. Of course Wooyoung started it.
“So, Hwa hyung, should we be watching out for mosquitoes?” Wooyoung snickered, purposely picking the target least likely to fight back. He miscalculated how his captain would react.
“You look worse so I’m not really sure why you’re talking.” Hongjoong said, not looking up from where he was cutting up his pancakes. Everyone laughed and Wooyoung pouted.
“What are we all laughing about in here?” Yeosang asked as he and Jongho walked in, grabbing their plates out of the oven where they were being kept warm.
“ Someone thought it was a good idea to comment on the look of another’s neck when his own looks like he was mauled by a vampire.” Mingi explained, always trying to keep the good-natured drama flowing. Yeosang’s gaze immediately turned to Wooyoung.
“Hey! Why am I your first guess?!” The black haired man squawked.
“You know exactly why.” Yeosang knew all about Wooyoung’s thing for being bitten. He’s the one who discovered it.
“Just because you’re the one who found the kink doesn’t mean you get to pick on me about it.” Wooyoung pouted even harder, Mingi choked on his orange juice. Yunho patted Mingi’s back as he coughed and spluttered.
“Huh, didn’t think you were ready to tell everyone about that. Anyway.” Yeosang shrugged and sat down, Jongho sitting next to him while still in a sleepy fog.
“You two?! For real?!” Mingi finally stopped coughing and basically screamed his questions.
“Yes? I figured Yunho would’ve told you. He found out first.” Yeosang sipped his coffee, made a face, then reached for the creamer.
“I wasn’t about to tell anyone! I figured it was private! I just heard a crash and tried to check that you both were okay, I really regret opening that door.” Yunho exclaimed, his ears completely red.
“Oh yeah, Mingi, you owe me money.” San turned to the other while Yeosang nodded, knowing about the bet as well.
“Well, guess the cat’s out of the bag, me and Yeo messed around. There, tada. Now everyone knows.” Wooyoung poked at his food, regretting opening his mouth. Seonghwa patted Wooyoung’s back with a soft giggle.
“I want to go back to teasing about hickeys. Seems everyone has stories to tell.” Hongjoong wiggled his eyebrows, letting the team begin to squabble over bruises again. Satisfied with his distraction, he leaned back in his chair, his own mug of coffee in hand.
“Nice save, Joong.” Seonghwa said, leaning into his boyfriend’s side.
“Thanks. Wasn’t too hard considering most of them will keep themselves busy with this for a while.” Hongjoong sipped his coffee, his arm draping over Seonghwa’s shoulders, his thumb rubbing over the bite mark he had left on Seonghwa’s throat. He enjoyed the shiver that ran through the older.
It was a bit later in the day when Hongjoong rounded everyone up and started delegating.
“Okay. So let’s start prepping for tonight. Hwa, I want you to go look into Park Handol, he sounds useful. Mingi, Yunho, please go start finding out everything you can about that email, Yeosang and Wooyoung, make sure all drones and hacked cameras are working for this excursion, San and Jongho, please get all of your gear checked and prepped. If anyone needs to talk to me about anything, please don’t hesitate.” With a clap, Hongjoong dismissed everyone, his face full of stress. Seonghwa pulled him down the hallway and into their room before he could escape. The door was closed and locked before Seonghwa started to speak.
“I’m worried about you, Joong. You’ve got yourself strung between all these things while everyone else only has one assignment.” Seonghwa crossed his arms over his chest, watching the man with dark blue hair.
“I know, but there really isn’t any other way. I’m going to do my best to not meddle in their assignments but I know I’ll have to do check-ins. I don’t want to spread myself out like this but I’m the leader, I have to.” Hongjoong sat on the end of the bed, a heavy sigh leaving him as he ran a hand through his hair.
“I want to help. I can research and do check-ins with you. You can take on San and Jongho, I can easily check in with the other kids.” Seonghwa sat next to Hongjoong, taking the hand that wasn’t still buried in the man’s hair.
“I just get so anxious. I feel like if I don’t check on all of them something will go horribly wrong.” Hongjoong said, his leg starting to bounce.
“Do you trust me with them? Do you trust that I know what to do and how to handle this?” Seonghwa asked, no heat in his voice, only a genuine curiosity.
“I do, but my mind doesn’t.” Hongjoong answered truthfully.
“So let me prove that all of your mind can trust me. Let me help you.” Seonghwa watched in silence as Hongjoong took his time to think things through.
“Okay. I’m okay trying.” Hongjoong looked up, a determined look on his face. Seonghwa smiled and then used one hand to hold Hongjoong’s jaw, letting his chin rest in his palm, his thumb on one side of his face, his fingers on the other.
“Thank you for letting me help you.” Seonghwa said before leaning in, kissing Hongjoong. He used his grip on the other man’s face to take charge. He angled Hongjoong how he wanted him and then opened his lover’s mouth with his tongue. Hongjoong sucked in a breath through his nose, a hand reaching up to gently hold Seonghwa’s wrist.
When Hongjoong couldn’t take it anymore, he climbed into Seonghwa’s lap, sitting on his boyfriend’s thighs. They knew that they had about an hour before they would need to check on everyone. Right now they needed each other. Hongjoong needed to not be in charge right now.
“I’ve got you. Let me take control.” Seonghwa said against Hongjoong’s mouth, a small whimper leaving his partner.
Seonghwa pulled Hongjoong’s legs around his waist and then wrapped his arms around the smaller man’s waist. He carefully stood and walked to the head of their bed, carefully depositing Hongjoong on the mattress, their lips never losing contact.
Seonghwa crawled onto the bed, hovering over his lover. They both pulled back and looked into each other’s eyes, savoring the moment.
“I love you.” Hongjoong whispered, tears forming in his eyes.
“I love you.” Seonghwa whispered back, ducking back down for more kisses. They didn’t rush. It was a slow build up. This was love making, not just sex.
They pulled off their clothes, admiring each other as they did so. They memorized each other’s bodies once more, dedicating everything to memory, even every freckle.
Seonghwa left his own marks on his lover, wanting everyone to know that he was taken. He sucked and bit until a large dark bruise formed on Hongjoong’s neck. It spanned from where his shoulder met his throat all the way up to his ear. Hongjoong left his own marks but with his fingernails. He couldn’t help how he scratched at Seonghwa’s back and chest as the other focused on marking him. He whined and his legs couldn’t hold still, he dragged his nails over Seonghwa’s skin and his breath shuddered.
Finally, Seonghwa reached into the nightstand and pulled out the lube. He slicked up the inside of Hongjoong’s thighs before pressing his legs together, placing both of his lover’s ankles on one of his shoulders.
Seonghwa leaned forward, bending Hongjoong in half, before letting his cock slip into the tight space between his lover’s soft thighs. He took Hongjoong’s penis in one hand, using his other to hold himself up.
The dance was a slow one. Soft breaths and sounds filled the room. There was no rush, no roughness. This wasn’t about reaching an end, it was about strengthening a bond.
“So good. So good for me, Joong-ah.” Seonghwa whispered into Hongjoong’s ear, his white hair tickling Hongjoong’s skin. The smaller man tilted his head and opened his mouth, searching for a kiss. Seonghwa gladly gave it to him.
The build up was slow and peaceful. There was no race or urgency.
Hongjoong reached his peak first, soft moans falling from his lips as he dug his nails even further into Seonghwa’s skin. Seonghwa wasn’t too far behind. He gasped against Hongjoong’s throat, biting down hard as he spilled over the inside of Hongjoong’s thighs.
Carefully, Seonghwa brought Hongjoong’s legs down, massaging his hip joints in case they were sore. He then grabbed a robe and went to the bathroom to grab a warm cloth, coming back to clean up his lover.
“I really do trust you, you know. I just have to work on letting go of the control.” Hongjoong said as Seonghwa wiped him down, humming softly when the warm cloth ran over the deep bruises on his throat.
“I know you do, now I just need you to trust that I will show you that you made the right choice.” Seonghwa pecked a kiss on Hongjoong’s cheek, tossing the cloth into the dirty clothes basket before pulling the blanket down so he could climb into bed with his boyfriend for a small doze.
“I’m so grateful to have you by my side.” Hongjoong said as he curled into Hwa’s side, immediately falling asleep.
“I’m so lucky to have you, my sun.” Seonghwa said before kissing Hongjoong’s dark hair, falling slowly into sleep.
