Dream About U

Summary:

Yeosang doesn't know how much longer he can hide the fact that he's hopelessly in love with his two band mates.

But thoughts about ruining their friendship, or ruining the established relationship his best friends are already in, have him second-guessing if confessing is the right thing to do.

Notes:

Just me being absolutely soft for Kang Yeosang (who isn't?)
Thank you for taking the time to read. I hope you all are having a good day and are safe/healthy :)

Work Text:

“You know you’re gonna have to tell them eventually, right?”

Yeosang flinched in surprise, turning around with wide eyes to find a smirking San standing behind him.

The pair were standing together in their shared kitchen. San had been in the room for a solid 5 minutes before he decided to speak up, spooking Yeosang who was stuck in a trance probably for the hundredth time that week.

The object of the older boy’s fascination: Hongjoong and Seonghwa cuddling on the couch several feet away.

The couple had been officially dating for about six months, six months full of Yeosang watching them be affectionate with one another and wishing so badly that they could treat him like that, too.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

San scoffed at Yeosang, “you’re a bad liar.” Anybody with eyes could see the crush that Yeosang had on the oldest two members and, honestly, San was starting to feel bad for the poor boy’s constant longing.

Yeosang reached forward and flicked San in the forehead at the comment. The younger boy let out a yelp of pain, but still managed to feel a slight sense of victory when he noticed a blush accompanying Yeosang’s rolling eyes.

“It might not go so bad if you do,” San said, leaning on his elbows against the island counter next to the other boy, “you’ll never know if you don’t try.”

For a second, Yeosang seemed to contemplate the advice, but he knew deep down how unrealistic it would be for one of his bandmates to like him back. And for two of his bandmates who are already dating each other to like him back, well, that just sounded impossible to Yeosang.

The older boy simply shook his head, taking a deep and unsteady breath. “No way, not gonna happen.”

“So, what? You’re just gonna pine after them in secret forever?”

Yeosang felt his heart sink a bit at the idea, but he knows that it’s the best option.

“If that’s what it takes for me to not ruin my friendship with them, then I guess so.”

*

A couple of weeks passed and Yeosang realized that he, in fact, cannot pine after the pair in secret for much longer. Not when Hongjoong and Seonghwa keep treating him the way that they do.

It hit Yeosang the hardest during one of the group’s dance practices for their upcoming comeback.

The choreography was grueling, difficult was an understatement, and Yeosang was having a hard time keeping up with some of the other members that day. He was struggling more with each new step that he took, and before he knew it, his vision went blurry. His shaking legs started to give out beneath him and he soon felt his knees slamming harshly against the hard floor.

“Shit, Yeosang.”

His vision came back after a few seconds and as it did, he felt arms wrapping around his torso and guiding him off of his knees to sit more comfortably on the ground.

“Are you okay, Sangie?” Yeosang realized from the worried tone that it was Seonghwa who was closest to him, the older pulling Yeosang to lean his back against his chest.

Yeosang nodded, eyes squeezing in pain from the headache rushing when he slightly shook his head.

“Here, Yeosangie.” This time, it was Hongjoong. The younger felt the lid of a water bottle being pushed against his lips and he tilted his head back slowly, letting Hongjoong pour water into his mouth.

A couple of the other members could be heard murmuring around him, but Yeosang couldn’t make out what was being said. Everything felt so overwhelming, all he wanted was to be in bed and sleep forever.

Hongjoong called off dance practice soon after that. The staff members and choreographers tried to argue, but the frustrated look on Hongjoong’s face told them that they wouldn’t win that fight.

If there was one thing about their captain, it’s that he won’t give up when it comes to protecting his members, and Yeosang was grateful for it at that moment.

The oldest pair sent the other members home, telling them to get dinner figured out and to make sure that Yeosang’s bed was made before they got home.

Seonghwa stayed sitting on the ground with Yeosang while the other members left, all of them bidding soft goodbye’s and leaving a couple of kisses on Yeosang’s head as they made their way out of the room.

Yeosang relished in the warmth of his oldest member’s arms wrapped around his torso, and in Hongjoong’s hand carding through his hair. The trio sat like that in a comfortable silence for a while, the older two letting Yeosang take his time in catching his breath and relaxing.

The youngest of the three felt himself starting to feel a little better as time passed. He moved himself to start standing up before two pairs of hands came to grab his shoulders.

“Be careful, go slowly,” Hongjoong instructed, worried at the fast pace that Yeosang had started to move. Seonghwa looked at him with concern as well, grabbing each of the youngest’s hands to help carefully lead him onto his feet.

Yeosang’s legs were still shaking, but they weren’t as bad as earlier. He figured some food and rest would help him feel okay in time for tomorrow’s dance practice.

“I’m sorry.”

The oldest two looked at Yeosang in confusion. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Sangie. Why are you apologizing?”

Yeosang avoided eye contact and chose to fix his gaze on the floor as he responded to Hongjoong. “I’m sorry I’ve been slacking at learning this choreo, and I’m sorry I let myself get to a point where I almost passed out.”

A hand gently cupped Yeosang’s chin, forcing the boy to meet Seonghwa’s eyes. “Don’t think like that, Yeosangie.” The younger boy felt his breath hitch at the contact. “This comeback is difficult. Everyone is struggling, it’s not just you. Just make sure that you come to us and the other members if you need help, don’t let things get this bad again.”

Yeosang nodded sheepishly, a blush creeping on his cheeks as he tried to keep eye contact with the oldest members.

“Now, come on,” Hongjoong said, him and Seonghwa each reaching a hand out to grab one of Yeosang’s, “let’s get you home and taken care of.”

The three boys walked together to their van hand-in-hand. They keep Yeosang between them for the entire walk and car ride, making sure he knew they were there to keep him safe.

And if the three of them happened to fall asleep squeezed together that night, limbs tangled together in Hongjoong’s bed, well, no one else needed to know that.

*

Another week passed and things were getting progressively harder for Yeosang when it came to his feelings for Hongjoong and Seonghwa.

The oldest two boys had been doting on him a significant amount since the dance practice situation. At first, Yeosang thought it was just them being overprotective, but as time went on, he was starting to wonder if there were ulterior motives behind his bandmates’ actions.

The group had a rare off-weekend, their managers wanting them all to rest before the intense work of final rehearsals began the following week.

All eight boys were ecstatic to have some free time, some of them planning to spend the whole weekend playing video games and watching movies, while others planned to sleep as much as they possibly could.

But Hongjoong, however, decided that he was going to hole himself up in his bedroom to work on music.

Yeosang, who was sitting on the couch in the living room and scrolling through twitter, rolled his eyes when Seonghwa walked into the room and told him about this, because of course their leader would still want to work on a day off.

“You know,” Seonghwa started, moving to lay on the couch adjacent to Yeosang, “Joong will probably stop working and actually relax if you ask him to.”

Yeosang looked at Seonghwa in confusion, head tilting slightly to the side, and Seonghwa had to force himself not to coo at the younger’s puppy-like behavior.

“Me?”

“Yes, you. He’s soft for you, Sangie,” Seonghwa stated firmly, like it was the most obvious thing ever, but it wasn’t obvious to Yeosang.

“No he’s not,” Yeosang grumbled, a pout playing on his lips. Seonghwa chose not to comment on the pink that was creeping up the tips of the younger’s ears, that was a conversation for later.

Seonghwa chuckled softly, “seriously, though. Hongjoong is really soft for you. Plus, I’m a little bit worried about him over-working himself. He would listen to you.”

What exactly does Seonghwa mean by that, Yeosang thought to himself in flustered silence for a moment, before standing up with a stretch. He felt a little bit nervous about going to his captain’s room, isn’t that something that his boyfriend should do?
But when Seonghwa sent him an encouraging smile, he decided to just go for it, and the older boy internally patted himself on the back for sending the younger to his boyfriend. He made a mental note to tease Hongjoong later and coerce a ‘thank you’ from him.

Yeosang crept quietly towards Hongjoong’s room, not wanting to wake up the members who were somehow still sleeping at 2pm. He heard the loud clicking of buttons and keyboards from behind the closed door once he reached it.

He lifted a fist and knocked twice, but gained no response. His heart was thumping as he knocked again, but he still received nothing after waiting for a bit too long.

With a deep breath, the singer decided to just open the door, where he was met with Hongjoong sitting at his desk. The older had headphones on, hence why he hadn’t heard the knocking, and was hunched over his desk with eyes glued to the screen of his laptop.

He still hadn’t noticed Yeosang, who carefully took a few steps towards him, a hesitant hand reaching out to tap him on the shoulder.

Hongjoong gasped embarrassingly loud, cheeks flushing at the exaggerated reaction that he had once he saw that it was just Yeosang who was trying to get his attention. He quickly pulled his headphones off of his ears once he recovered from the shock, turning in his chair to face Yeosang.

“I’m sorry, Sangie. How long have you been there?”

“Just a minute, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you,” Yeosang tried to ignore the shakiness in his own voice, “I was knocking and you weren’t answering.”

Hongjoong let an apologetic smile spread across his lips, “I’m sorry, I guess I got a little too caught up in working on this song. What’s up?”

“Oh!” Honestly, Yeosang hadn’t really thought this far ahead, he was nervous, “um, Seonghwa and I were worried about you working on our day off, so he sent me to try to convince you to take a break.”

Hongjoong’s first reaction took form in a firm ‘no’ ready to roll off of his tongue, but the sight of Yeosang’s puppy-dog eyes had him second-guessing almost immediately. He squeezed his eyes together, mentally cursing himself for letting himself be completely wrapped around Yeosang’s finger. He would definitely have to scold Seonghwa for this later, knowing the older set this up on purpose - his boyfriend knew him too well.

“Okay,” Hongjoong huffed, “fine.” Yeosand smiled widely, eyes sparkling, and Hongjoong took that sight as his sign that he made the right decision.

Hongjoong turned back around in his chair to save his work and shut down his laptop and as soon as he was finished, Yeosang’s hand was wrapping around his wrist and pulling him towards the living room.

“I did it!” Yeosang cheered, shoulders held high and chest puffed out in victory when they eventually reached the couch where Seonghwa was sitting.

The older smirked, eyes drifting to where the youngest’s hand was still holding on to Hongjoong’s wrist. Yeosang quickly caught on to this, body growing hot as he let go of the boy standing next to him.

“S-sorry,” he said, directing the apology towards both of the older members.

Seonghwa giggled fondly and stood up from the couch, taking a few steps so that he was slightly looming over the younger boy. Yeosang closed his eyes, preparing himself to be scolded for touching Seonghwa’s boyfriend.

So when he was met with a large hand coming to rest softly on top of his head, his eyes shot open as he looked at Seonghwa with furrowed eyebrows.

“Good job, Sangie.”

Yeosang felt butterflies explode in his chest at the praise, but more so he felt confused as to why Seonghwa would praise him instead of getting upset with him. Wouldn’t most people get angry and jealous at the sight of someone else practically holding hands with their partner?

He felt overwhelmed and flustered and before he could try to stutter out a response, Yeosang ultimately felt his feet pulling him in the direction of his bedroom, unknowingly leaving the older couple in confusion and worry.

*

Later that night, Hongjoong and Seonghwa got ready for bed together in the leader’s room. While this was a daily occurrence, tonight felt a bit different with both boys filled with anxious thoughts of the day’s earlier incident.

The couple hadn’t talked about it at all that night until Seonghwa, pajamas on and laying on his side in bed, decided to finally voice his thoughts.

“Do you think I scared him off?”

Seonghwa’s voice wavered as he spoke, alerting Hongjoong to rush over and sit in bed next to where the older was laying.

“No, baby,” Hongjoong soothed, hand rubbing smooth circles on Seonghwa’s hip where his shirt had ridden up, “you didn’t do anything wrong.”

“But what if I did? What if I pushed things too far? Or made him feel uncomfortable? Or wh-”

“Stop that.”

Honestly, Hongjoong was worried, too. He was scared that maybe some of his boyfriend’s words could be true, but he wouldn’t let Seonghwa know that.

Instead, Hongjoong maneuvered them both so that he was leaning against the headboard with Seonghwa’s head resting in his lap. His hand was now resting on the skin of the older boy’s stomach while his other hand ran through his raven hair, fingertips scratching softly against Seonghwa’s scalp.

Seonghwa’s eyes closed and his body finally started to relax as Hongjoong spoke again, “it’s all gonna be okay.” He wasn’t sure if he was trying to comfort Seonghwa or himself.

The oldest boy nodded at his boyfriend’s words, heart full of hope that Hongjoong’s words were right. Both boys fell asleep that night with thoughts of maybe, one day, being able to sleep together like this with Yeosang every night.

*

It had been several days since Yeosang ran out of the room on Hongjoong and Seonghwa.

At first, things were a little awkward between the trio, but none of them had time to dwell on the situation when they were thrown back into jam-packed days of rehearsals and practices. And soon, the three of them found themselves falling back into their normal routines and behaviors.

Yeosang had spent the better part of the day at the dance studio, squeezing in a private lesson with their choreographer for their upcoming title track. But now, it was late, and Yeosang could hear his stomach growl as he realized that he had lost track of time so much that he forgot to eat lunch and dinner.

After sitting on the ground for a while and downing as much water as he could, Yeosang gathered up his belongings and left the practice room, bidding the choreographer a ‘goodbye’ on his way out.

He started walking down the hallway, brain racing with thoughts of what he should eat for his late dinner, and then he thought about the fact that Hongjoong was probably in the recording studio a couple of floors below him, and he started to wonder if his captain would want to go eat with him.

Yeosang still felt a little standoff-ish about the situation that happened between him and the oldest pair a few days prior, but his hunger and his want for company was overpowering those feelings. And before he knew it, he was entering the elevator at the end of the hallway and pressing the button for the floor where Hongjoong would be found.

He made his way to the room subconsciously, muscle memory taking him there as he almost always stops by to say ‘hi’ to the leader, who practically lives at the recording studio.

Soon, Yeosang reached the familiar door and raised a fist to leave a few loud knocks against it. He wasn’t sure if Hongjoong was going to hear him over the loud music that was coming from inside the room, but he was pleasantly surprised a few seconds later by the music pausing and the door swinging open.

“Oh! Sangie, hi!”

Hongjoong seemed surprised that it was Yeosang at the door, and the look in the older’s eyes (and the delivery food laying on the table inside of the room) makes Yeosang realize that Hongjoong must have been expecting someone else.

“Hi,” Yeosang greets nervously, a hint of jealousy rising in his stomach, “I’m sorry if I’m interrupting. I was on my way back from the dance studio and was gonna ask if you wanted to go eat with me, but…”

Hongjoong turned around, following Yeosang’s gaze to the delivery boxes behind him, and the leader closed his eyes and scolded himself internally. He doesn’t realize how long he had been silent for until he faces back to Yeosang again and catches the younger one slowly exiting the room.

Hongjoong moved swiftly and wrapped small fingers around Yeosang’s arm, making the other boy stop in his tracks and turn around to face him.

“You’re welcome to stay and eat. I know you probably skipped out on your meals today to practice, and there’s more than enough for you here.”

Yeosang shakes his head, wondering how Hongjoong is able to see right through him. “It’s okay, I don’t want to intrude on you and Seonghwa. I can pick myself up somet-”

“Stay,” the grip on Yeosang’s wrist tightened slightly, “please.”

Yeosang wants to refuse, worried that he might break down if he has to sit and watch the older couple be affectionate in front of him. But the look in his leader’s eyes beg him to stay, and he can’t find it in himself to say ‘no.’

He decides to just nod softly, not trusting his own voice, and Hongjoong smiles in victory, clapping his hands together once. “Great!”

Great, Yeosang groans in his head as he lets himself be dragged onto the small couch that occupied the recording studio. Hongjoong sat next to him, bouncy happily as he started to open some of the take-out boxes.

And Yeosang wanted to be annoyed at how happy the other boy seemed, but the smell of barbecue quickly broke him from that mood and suddenly food was all he could think of.

“Don’t be shy,” Hongjoong spoke up, chuckling at the way Yeosang’s mouth was almost watering, “Seonghwa will still be a bit, so we can start eating.”

Yeosang pushed aside the twinge of envy when being reminded that this was supposed to be a date between Hongjoong and Seonghwa only, trying to focus on soothing his hunger that was beginning to feel painful.

Hongjoong watched with fondness as Yeosang began piling food into his mouth. He took some here and there for himself, but he mostly kept his eyes fixed on the younger boy - he felt full and satisfied just watching Yeosang eat so well.

But if there’s one thing about the boy sitting next to Hongjoong, it’s that he tends to be a messy eater. The members all found it endearing, the way that food only partially makes it into Yeosang’s mouth whenever he eats, while the rest ends up coating his lips and cheeks.

It happens so often that Hongjoong doesn’t hesitate to take a tissue and begin wiping spilled crumbs off of Yeosang’s chin. The latter froze at the action, staring with wide eyes at his captain.

Yeosang should be normalized to this situation, it’s not the first time that one of the members, especially Hongjoong, has wiped food off of his face for him. But something about this moment felt different.

His feelings were confirmed when he realized that Hongjoong was leaning so close to him, to the point that Yeosang could feel the other boy’s breath heating up his cheek. He could feel his heart pounding so loud that he was sure Hongjoong could hear it.

The tissue’s movements stilled on the corner of Yeosang’s lips and he looked over to glance at Hongjoong. The elder was frozen, gaze fixed on Yeosang’s lips, and the latter felt his breathing hitch. The tension was so thick that Yeosang swore he could cut it with a knife.

After a moment of stillness, Hongjoong dropped the tissue and let it float down onto his lap, before lifting a couple of cold fingers to rest on Yeosang’s cheek. The leader moved his head a bit closer, lips millimeters from grazing the younger’s.

“Can I?”

A million thoughts began racing through Yeosang’s mind at the question, he felt so overwhelmed, but curious at the same time. He knew in his heart that this wasn’t a good idea, that he would be making a mistake and end up getting hurt, but he felt himself nodding despite what his heart told him.

Before he could change his mind or think about his decision, lips were crashing onto his own.

Yeosang had daydreamed about this very moment a million times, and now that it was actually happening, everything felt better than any of the things he had imagined.

Hongjoong’s lips were soft and matched his personality, leading Yeosang into a perfect rhythm of slotted lips and teeth moving against each other.

Suddenly, Yeosang’s worries were being swept away and all he could focus on was the feeling of Hongjoong’s tongue carefully slipping into his own mouth, and the older’s hand cupping his cheek in a more firm and grounding way.

Yeosang was so focused on the feeling that he didn’t hear the sound of the studio door opening, or the sound of Seonghwa walking into the room just a couple of feet away from where he was currently making out with the oldest’s boyfriend.

“What the heck! I can’t believe you got to kiss him first.”

Yeosang pulled away from Hongjoong quicker than either of them could blink, nearly falling off of the couch. He turned to the doorway to look at Seonghwa, finally realizing exactly what he had just been doing a few seconds ago.

“You two can keep going, don’t stop on my account.”

Seonghwa was smiling, adoration filling his eyes, and while Yeosang was thankful that the oldest boy wasn’t yelling at him, the lack of anger was making Yeosang even more anxious and confused.

Without thinking, Yeosang’s vision began to get blurry, a couple of tears escaping his eyes and dripping down his cheeks.

Seonghwa and an out-of-breath Hongjoong stared at each other with wide eyes, before the oldest of the pair pushed himself forward to kneel in front of Yeosang’s spot on the couch.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay,” Seonghwa soothed, letting a hand card through the youngest’s dark hair.

Quiet sobs filled the room as Yeosang cried, the embarrassment of reacting so emotionally just spurred on more tears. He couldn’t stop thinking about how he just messed up his friendship with his two favorite people.

Soon, sobs turned into soft sniffles and hiccups, and the couple decided that it was their time to start talking. Seonghwa moved himself to sit on the couch with the other two, sandwiching Yeosang in between him and Hongjoong.

“I think we have some things that we need to talk about.”

Seonghwa nodded in agreement with Hongjoong’s words. They both took each of the youngest’s hands into their own, making a glossy-eyed Yeosang lift up his head to look back and forth between the two older boys.

“I’m not jealous that you and Hongjoong kissed, if that’s what you’re worried about,” Seonghwa said, Yeosang’s bottom lip jutting out as he tilted his head in confusion, “I’m only jealous that he got to kiss you first.”

Yeosang’s soft cheeks flushed red as he let out a shaky breath that he had been holding, “oh.”

Hongjoong carefully gripped Yeosang’s shoulders, turning the younger boy to face him.

“Seonghwa and I like you, Yeosangie.”

“Oh.”

Yeosang mentally face-palmed at his bland and repetitive response, but what was he supposed to say to his two best friends, who were already dating each other, confessing their feelings to him?

Now, it was Seonghwa’s turn to face the youngest boy. “We’ve liked you for a while, both of us have. We just weren’t sure if you liked us back, or if you would want to be in a relationship with two people, or if we were overwhelming you, or if w-”

“I like you both, too.” Seonghwa closed his mouth abruptly, opting to stop rambling and let the other boy have his turn to talk.

Yeosang felt like he was dreaming, and he may or may not have let his hand drift to his opposite arm to pinch himself, proving that he was, in fact, not in a dream.

“I’ve liked you both for a while, too. I just didn’t think you would like me back, you both already like each other so much.”

“That’s true, we do like each other so much. But we both have always known that there was something, or rather someone, missing,” Seonghwa said, using both of his hands to cup Yeosang’s face, “and that someone has always been you.”

Yeosang felt his heart filling up with so much love and happiness at those words that he was sure it would burst. He sat in awe, staring at both boys with sparkling, still-watery eyes that had both of their hearts fluttering.

“Now, can I please have my turn to kiss you?”

With dark, flushed cheeks, Yeosang squeaked out a ‘yes’ and quickly felt a new pair of lips capture his. While Hongjoong was a rough and passionate kisser, Seonghwa was soft and gentle. It all made perfect sense to Yeosang, how they both seemed to balance each other out perfectly, and he wondered to himself how he would fit into the mix.

But worried thoughts washed away as Seonghwa moved his lips softly against Yeosang’s, letting one hand rest on the small of the younger’s back to pull him closer, while the other hand played with the hair at the base of his neck.

The older boy pulled Yeosang’s bottom lip between his teeth, giving a slight tug that made Yeosang gasp as he pulled away from the kiss. Seonghwa rested his forehead against the other’s, hot breaths mixing together in the couple of inches of space between their faces.

All the while, Hongjoong was simply watching, and enamored glint shining in his eyes as he smiled at the pair. He had thought about this moment so many times before, and with it actually playing out in front of him, he had confirmation that his feelings were so right.

“So,” Yeosang said, still trying to catch his breath, “what does this mean?”

Seonghwa looked at Hongjoong for approval, and he got it when his boyfriend smiled sweetly and nodded.

“Will you be our boyfriend?”

Yeosang’s eyes grew wide and mouth formed an ‘o’ shape, surprised at the questions as if he wasn’t just kissing both of his members just moments ago. The two older boys found his reaction adorable and Hongjoong had to stop himself from reaching out and pinching Yeosang’s cheeks.

“Unless you don’t want to, or if you think things are moving too fa-”

“I would love to,” Yeosang said, a toothy grin growing on his face, and Seonghwa hopes that he can see the youngest boy smile like that forever.

The oldest two break out into smiles and laughs of their own, leaning over to wrap warm arms around Yeosang. They squeezed the youngest boy between them both as they took turns pressing wet kisses on their new boyfriend’s rosy cheeks.

They all stayed like that for a while, arms tangled together and giggles spreading throughout the room. “I like this,” Yeosang spoke up, head resting on Seonghwa’s shoulder.

“Me, too,” Hongjoong said, gaining a hum of agreement from the oldest boy.

They finished up eating after that, taking turns feeding each other as if they had all been dating one another for years. They fell into a comfortable rhythm almost immediately, and Yeosang realized that maybe, just maybe, this was all meant to be.

Hongjoong never went back to working on his music that night, too caught up in the bliss of finally having both Yeosang and Seonghwa to himself.

For the first time in a long time, Hongjoong felt like there were more important things at that moment than music. His songs would always be there, but moments alone with his boyfriend - boyfriends - are rare and he didn’t want to take advantage of that.

They cleaned up their belongings and Seonghwa stood up with a loud huff, “should we head back? It’s getting late.”

Yeosang pulled out his phone, mouth agape when he noticed the time. Had he really been at the studio for two hours already?

He sprang up quickly, pulling a tired Hongjoong up onto his feet as well. Yeosang and Seonghwa helped their leader save and shut down all of his equipment, which took a while because Hongjoong was a paranoid person and always had to triple-save all of his work, just to be safe.

Soon, though, the trio was leaving the studio, hand-in-hand with Yeosang in the middle. When they reached the van that was waiting outside for them, they all squeezed into one row together.

It was slightly uncomfortable to Yeosang, especially since there were so many other empty seats in the vehicle, but he couldn’t be too mad, not when Hongjoong was rubbing circles on his knee with his fingertip, or when Seonghwa placed a hand on his neck to pull his head down to rest on the oldest’s shoulder.

And when the oldest pair arrived at their dorms, practically carrying a dozing Yeosang in between them, they helped the youngest slip off his shoes quietly as to not wake the members who had already fallen asleep.

Some members were still up, however, and Wooyoung noticed the other three boys enter the apartment right away. He stood up from the couch to greet them, but quickly shut his mouth and grinned widely when he saw the way that the oldest two were doting on Yeosang.

“I told you so,” Wooyoung whispered to San who was sitting next to him, and San just pouted. (He knew the three would eventually get together, but he had made a bet with Wooyoung that it would take longer than this because, frankly, he didn’t think that Yeosang had it in him.)

The trio managed to peel away from each other, despite Yeosang letting out a whine in detest, and headed into their own respective rooms to change and get ready for bed. Once done, Yeosang built up the courage to make his way towards Hongjoong’s room where he knows his two boyfriends (boyfriends? Yeosang heart sped up at the term) usually sleep.

The door was cracked open, so Yeosang left a couple of barely noticeable knocks on the wood before opening it more without waiting for an answer, the knocks being more of a warning rather than a request.

“Hi, Sangie baby,” Hongjoong smiled. Seonghwa was already in the room, sitting up in bed, and his eyes lit up when he saw Yeosang enter the room.

“Um, can I,” Yeosang stuttered out with flushed cheeks, “can I sleep with you guys tonight?”

Yeosang knew it was a silly question to ask, but he still felt nervous, not wanting to make any mistakes or move too quickly. But his worries were quickly soothed by the older two boys laughing fondly at him.

“Yes, of course, Sangie,” Seonghwa said, arms opening to invite Yeosang towards the bed, “you have absolutely no idea how precious you are.”

Yeosang’s skin grew even more hot, if that was even possible, as he made his way over to the large bed. He immediately plopped himself next to Seonghwa, wrapping arms around the eldest’s torso and hiding his face in his neck in embarrassment.

Seonghwa laughed and pet through Yeosang’s hair, shifting so that the younger was in the middle of the bed. It wasn’t long before Yeosang felt arms wrap around him from behind, Hongjoong’s face coming to rest against the back of his neck and leaving a soft peck on his shoulder.

“I could get used to this,” Hongjoong said after a few brief moments of comfortable silence.

Yeosang’s heart filled up, absolutely overflowing with love and adoration for the two boys that were holding onto him so tightly. He felt so content, so safe, and he realized that this was the feeling he had been waiting for for so long.

“Thank you,” Yeosang said shyly, picking up his head to send loving looks towards the boys laying next to him.

Seonghwa and Hongjoong didn’t say anything, they didn’t have to. Because their soft hums as responses, their eyes shining with every glance at each other, and the way their arms constricted so securely around his abdomen, told Yeosang everything he needed to know.

And, yeah, Yeosang could get used to this, too.
