Chapter Text
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!"
Just as Weiss feared, Winter was not taking the news very well. At least Winter hadn't smacked her in front of her baby daddy - or was it baby mama? Well, in front of Yang.
But for all of Yang's bulk and big presence, she sure looked a lot smaller beside an already tiny Weiss in the booth of the diner as they both cowered under the furious glare of Winter Schnee.
"Uh, in my defense..." Yang started, trying to defuse the situation.
"SILENCE." Winter's voice was like ice, and Yang instantly snapped her mouth shut. "I'll deal with you in a moment."
"Winter, please..." Weiss whimpered. When she had finally responded to Winter's messages, she had hoped for a heartwarming reunion. It had started out on a somewhat positive note; Winter was never much for open displays of affection, but at least she had reciprocated the hug when Weiss had leapt into her arms outside the diner where they had agreed to meet. Now, Weiss was feeling serious regret at dropping the news about her unexpected pregnancy.
Winter sighed, hand reaching for her cup of black coffee. "Weiss, Father has cut you off entirely from the family fortune."
Weiss frowned. "I know. My card got declined just a day after I ran away from home."
"So how are you going to take care of this child you're now planning to have?" Winter's question was pointed, a bit harsh, but honest. It was a fair question given the circumstances.
But before Weiss could try to answer, she felt familiar metal fingers clasp around her hand.
"Hey!" Yang interjected, her familial instincts surging to the fore. "I'm right here! If you want to rip someone apart, try me!"
Winter narrowed her eyes. "This is between me and my sister."
"No, we're past that," Yang pressed on. "I'm the one who was irresponsible and got her knocked up, but even if she doesn't have those millions anymore, she's not going to wind up an impoverished mother."
"And why is that?"
"BECAUSE I WON'T LET IT HAPPEN!" Yang roared.
Two Schnees stared in awe at the fiery display, one in surprise and one in silent admiration. Chancing a quick glance at her lover, Yang steeled herself and glared defiantly at Winter. "As long as she will have me, I promise you that Weiss will never starve nor want for anything. Nor will her child."
Clasping both hands around the prosthetic, Weiss felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. "Yang..."
As silence settled in over the table, Winter took the opportunity to have a sip of coffee, and when she set the mug down, she had a slight smile on her face. A rare sight indeed for those who knew her. Weiss watched nervously and held her breath. Yang waited for either something resembling a blessing or the wrath of a big sister.
"Weiss." Winter turned her gaze toward the only family member she truly loved anymore. "You know if the wrong people find out, it may not end well for you or your child."
"I'm not afraid of small-minded people or nosy paparazzi," Weiss replied without hesitation.
"And what about becoming a mother?"
"That... was not planned, but I will learn."
"Do you trust her?"
It felt awkward discussing this right in front of Yang, but Weiss knew in her gut that if Winter had tried to pull her aside, she wouldn't allow it. Whatever Winter wanted to say to her, she would say in front of Yang as well.
Turning her gaze up to the trucker that stole her heart, Weiss replied, "Yes. I trust her. Enough to raise a family with her."
"And Yang." Winter directed a much softer but still slightly stern look at the beefy woman. "You swear to look after my sister? No matter what?"
"Absolutely, ma'am. Though, to be honest, I thought you'd be giving me the whole 'I will hunt you down and hurt you if you hurt my sister' spiel."
"I think that's obvious," Winter replied calmly, taking another swig of coffee.
"Well, I know what that's like," Yang said, rubbing the back of her neck.
Leaning in, Weiss whispered, "First time she's ever indicated she would actually have my back."
"I heard that." Winter hated to admit it, but Weiss was right. She hadn't been the best big sister over the years, opting for Weiss to learn self-reliance rather than relying too much on others. But with so much change, it was time for Winter to remain more in touch with her sister.
Especially now that she was going to one day be an aunt.
The trip back home - home for Yang and a new home for Weiss - was filled with more road head and fucking as the lovers couldn't help themselves. They were so used to it after months on the road, they scarcely considered what they might do once the baby started showing. But in the back of her mind, Yang was already weighing her options, especially after Winter's insistence that she do her part to provide for Weiss and their baby. Trucking across the country had served her well, but it would be hell on her and her new baby if she was away for so long, and having Weiss continue to ride along would soon no longer be an option. She had joked about getting hitched in Vegas, but Weiss quickly shot that down. There was far too great a risk that someone would notice the former heiress and she wanted to sort out the wife thing farther from where she'd run.
And so, Yang brought Weiss home to finally meet Ruby and fill her in on her travels - without providing all the details, of course.
From the moment Weiss first met Ruby, she could see the impact of Yang's parenting when the elder had stepped up for her baby sister. Not to mention how stark the contrast was with her own sister. Yang was super affectionate with Ruby, and it left Weiss feeling warm and fuzzy with hope that such energy would carry over to their child some day. And Ruby was like a ball of energy, if a little klutzy at times.
But the moment that Ruby found out she was going to be an auntie, Weiss had to cover her ears at the sound of the squeal.
"OH MY GOSH, THIS IS AMAZING! WOW! AND YOU TWO JUST MET AT RANDOM ON THE ROAD? Wait, don't tell me how, Yang, I don't wanna know, just as long as you were being careful..."
"Yeah..." Yang chuckled with an uneasy grin. "Suuuure."
"EWWW YAAAAAAANG!!"
As different as the dynamic was, Weiss couldn't help feeling a bit more hopeful now that she was a safe distance from her asshole of a father, starting to repair her bond with Winter, and in a place where she might finally have a life of her own. Being around such kindness and generosity did wonders for her, providing her the sort of family environment she wished she had growing up. And now, she could learn as her pregnancy moved along and became more evident.
In terms of preparing for their new life together, Yang spoke with her bosses and laid out the situation, making clear in unambiguous terms that she could not keep doing her trucker gig once she had a baby to tend to. She'd already gone through childhood without a mom and refused to subject her own offspring to a similar fate. Weiss feared it would be difficult for Yang to drop her work or find new employment, but she was relieved when Yang announced that she was being transferred to do mechanical work on the type of trucks she had been driving and that it would keep her close to home.
With that taken care of, she finally asked Weiss if they should get married properly. After some consideration, Weiss opted for a simple courthouse ceremony. It was perfect. At least no one raised any issue with the slight swell of her belly when they did their vows before the magistrate.
July 28th.
Yang came home from another day at the shop, a bit of grease here and there that she couldn't quite get off her skin or her clothes. Not that her family minded.
Not even Weiss.
Her wife. Standing there on the porch in a sundress with their infant daughter, Jin Xiao Long. A name chosen by Weiss much to Yang's surprise, but a beautiful one all the same. Fitting for their baby girl with platinum blonde hair and her mother's piercing blue eyes.
The tiredness of a long day at the mechanic shop washed away as Yang climbed the steps to pull her small wife into a warm hug, cradling their cooing daughter with her free hand.
Stroking Yang's greasy face, Weiss gave a soft peck on the lips. "Happy birthday, Yang."
"Aww, thanks," Yang replied with her trademark grin.
Jin made a noise resembling a sort of happy sound, reaching out with her tiny arms. Yang gasped and scooped her up. "Are you wishing me a happy birthday too?" she cooed as she spun around with her daughter held up in the air, giggling as her mommy babbled and Weiss laughed at the sight.
"Yang!" Ruby called out as she ran out to join the family and give her big sis a quick hug. "I'm so sorry, I might have burned the cake a little so I'm gonna bake a new one. But I promise it'll be so good!"
Yang laughed and gave Ruby a big squeeze with one arm. "I'm sure it will, sis! Hey, can you take Jin for a while so I can go wash up before dinner?"
"Sure! Penny stopped by so she can help out while I'm dealing with the cake."
"Oh? Penny is here?" Yang waggled her eyebrows.
"YANG! SHUT UP!" Ruby punched her sister in the shoulder before taking Jin inside and pretending to grumble to her niece about how much of a stinker Yang could be.
"You know, I think she really is fond of Penny," Weiss remarked once Ruby was out of earshot.
"Good for them," Yang replied. "Now, I should probably get out of these clothes and get cleaned up."
"Not before I give you my present." Weiss trailed her fingers up Yang's sweaty shirt, eyes half-lidded and lips curling into a smirk.
Yang felt the heat rush down to her pants. "Maybe we can make this quick."
"Probably a good idea. We don't need Ruby yelling at us."
"Then we better hurry," Yang said quickly, scooping Weiss into her arms and slipping inside then up the stairs to their bedroom.
As they locked the door and began shedding clothes - Weiss her sundress and Yang her tank top and pants - Weiss was hit with the pleasant musky scent that made her fall madly in love with a blonde trucker not too long ago somewhere out west. She hummed and whined as Yang lifted her onto the bed before pressing her weight down on top.
"You know..." Yang husked as she gently ground her cock against Weiss's folds to warm them both up before a quick, gentle fuck, "I'm glad I stopped that night to help you out."
"Oh, you have no idea," Weiss responded breathlessly, fingers curling in a thick golden mane. And soon, all her breath was gone as her lips met Yang's and her insides clenched around the thick, comforting shaft once more.
The perfect birthday present.
