Work Text:
“Woah! Bro! Your hero costume looks so cool!” Yelled the red haired boy while they changed for Heroic’s class.
Izuku just smiled, it was incredibly similar to his vigilante outfit. A black long sleeve shirt that was woven with metals to make it protect against most things, on top of that he has a black, cropped hoodie with dark and light green stripes, which started at his neck and went out towards his shoulder before going down. The hood has cat ears sewn on, the inside of those being a nice shade of sage green.
He had his mask sitting against his neck, it has made out of metal that has been painted back with glow-in-the-dark whiskers painted on it.
The only noticeable difference between his hero costume and his vigilante costume was that his hero costume had a pair of light green thigh-high boots, they had reenforced knees and ankles for support.
His Bo-staff was condense down (courtesy of the support course being awesome) and his knives (blunted of course, they weren’t giving deadly weapons out for training) were strapped onto his belt along with various medical supplies.
Stitched onto the ‘Cat bag’ was a red-spider lily patch, a aroace flag patch, as well as just a few simple cat ones.
(For those who looked close enough they would see the small moon and star earrings he had on, as well has a thin, but strong, necklace with 2 simple wedding bands.
Fighting may not be the best place for jewelry, but sue him. There’re the few things left of his mentor and he never takes them off.)
“You look good, very much cat like.” Hitoshi smirked, taking small steps to walk beside him.
“I had to pay some homage.” Izuku laughed, picked up Shock and Jump, he deposited one on his head (Shock) and one on his shoulders (Jump) while Sneakers slipped through his legs letting Izuku know he was there.
Izuku did have a across the shoulder bag for the cats (a satchel) but he knew they preferred not to be in it, they only went in if Izuku deemed it unsafe for them to be out of it
Hitoshi just sighed, “Let’s hope no one makes the connection between you and a certain vigilante.”.
Again, Izuku just laughed and did one last once over for his and his brother’s costumes.
Hitoshi’s simply a black and grey jumpsuit with hints of indigo and purple. His capture weapon (which he had been working on since Izuku decided they needed to work harder for training) was wrapped around his arms instead of his neck. It was also a pale shade of purple instead of grey.
What was really cool though, was the black voice modifier around his neck. As long as at least it was able to record one sentence of someone it could copy them almost perfectly. It could also do a range of preprogrammed voices as well.
Because the brothers were talking to each other and getting the cats all ready, they missed on what All Might was saying, but when they heads that they would be working together as villains for the exercise.
“All right! And they will be going against team D!” All Might shouted.
Team D was Todoroki and Sero.
“Come on Toshi! This is gonna be so much fun!” Izuku laughed, dragging his brother behind him.
The whole class shivered. Most could already sense that this match would end in some insane way.

“Okay Izuku, what’s the plan?” Hitoshi said as they entered the building.
“Todoroki’s most likely is going to try and just ice the entire building and then walk in, we’ll put the bomb on the top floor to give us time. The room won’t instantly freeze as a whole so we’ll suspend ourselves with your capture weapon from the ceiling and then drop onto the floor when the ceiling freezes. You can stay with the bomb and try to get Sero, he’ll be more likely to respond. Oh! And try to hold eye contact with Sero for at least 3 seconds before you brainwash him. We want to confuse people on your quirks activation. I’ll-“
“Izuku take a breath, I get it. I take on Sero you get Todoroki. I have timed and impact smoke bombs you can take with you to try and separate the two okay? Now let’s do this.” Hitoshi laughed.
Izuku nodded, pulling his mask onto his face he grinned. Todoroki and Sero wouldn’t even know what hit them.
(X)
When team D stepped out, Todoroki didn’t hesitate to freeze the building. When they stepped into the building, they didn’t expect the Yamazawa siblings to not be frozen to the ground. They didn’t expect smoke bombs to go off and separate them. Todoroki certainly didn’t expect to be punched right in the stomach.
As Sero continued upwards towards where he believed the bomb would be, Todoroki fell into a fighting stance. Immediately he was hit in the back.
This continue until the smoke cleared and he was able to finally land a punch back.
That was when Todoroki felt something small but solid ran into his feet and knocking him off balance just enough for his opponent, Izuku, to wrap his arms in capture tape, officially taking him out of the match.
Sero, on the other hand, had gone ahead, swinging through each floor until he made it to the top.
That’s where he found the bomb. Unmanned, with no one around.
Despite what people say about Sero, he could at least tell this was most likely a trap so he slowed down and started slowly walking forward.
“Get him Toshi!” He heard Izuku call out. Sero whipped around ready to fight, only to find no one there. Almost as soon as Sero’s back was turned he felt two feet slam into his back, before capture tape was wrapped around him and All Might called an end to the match.
Almost immediately he was unwrapped and was turned around to a smirking Hitoshi.
“What-what just happened?” Sero questioned.
“You’ll have to figure that out for yourself, I’m not going to reveal my secrets.”
“Uh ok?” Sero was fairly bewildered but he could respect someone wanting to be Mysterious.
They met up with Todoroki and Izuku on the way down, Hitoshi immediately threw his arm around Izuku’s shoulders.
When they finally got back to the room with everyone else, the brothers were talking in low voices so Todoroki and Sero couldn’t overhear.
“Well done boys! Now, could anyone tell me who’s the MVP of this match?” All Might yelled, smiling down at the 4 hero’s in training.
The girl with the pony-tail raised her hand. “I would say that the MVP of the Match would be the boy with Green hai-“ “Izuku! My names Izuku” Izuku supplied helpfully.
“Izuku then, thank you, he was able to come up with a plan and successfully take down Todoroki, something I know isn’t an easy task. He was also able to successfully separate the opposing team making it easier for his partner to protect the bomb.” The girl talked confidently, but she sounded a tad bit unsure of herself.
“I would say that correct young lady, Izuku was-“
“Actually if I may?” Izuku interrupted.
All Might, while looking slightly shocked at being interrupted nodded for the boy to continue.
“While I appreciate the compliment, I’d say the MVP of this match is Hitoshi, he not only was able to perfectly execute hanging us from the ceiling to avoid Todoroki’s ice, but he also was able to perfectly capture Sero without much fighting. He thought on his feet and didn’t even need to use his quirk to detainee Sero.” Izuku stated.
Everyone looked fairly surprised at this proclamation except for Hitoshi, who knew his brother far too well.
“Well I would say that the MVP of this match was the cats, that being said give me Jump, I wanna hold her.” Hitoshi reached out towards Izuku’s bag.
Izuku laughed and passed over the fluffy white cat. This was the longest she had been inside a building so getting pets was much deserved. Izuku thought he was getting closer to making her a full fledged house cat, which Shouta and Hitoshi would love.
Izuku smiled at his brother, he had spent so many years alone with just his cats (and later his mentor) that having a brother was one of the best things that had ever happened to him.
The battle trials continued on, but for the most part Izuku and Hitoshi quietly talked, not aware of the watchful eyes of a particular split haired boy.

(Time-skips, we love them)
“Uhh,” everyone stared at Izuku, who was, in turn, staring at the center of the USJ.
“Who are they?”. Immediately everyone looked at the center of the field where a purple swirl grew until it revealed villains. A lot of villains.
“Are those real villains or are they just part of the act?” Kirishima questioned, though everyone could tell it was more out of nervousness than anything else.
“Those are real villains, Thirteen protect the kids!” Aizawa shouted as he pulled his goggles down his face.
“Eraserhead! You can’t! There’s got to be a hundred villains down there, you fight from the shadows you quirk and fighting style isn’t suited to head on fighting!” Izuku yelped stepping forward with a scared look on his face.
“No hero is a one-trick-pony kid, I’ll be fine.” With that Eraserhead jumped down the stairs into the fight.
Without missing a beat Izuku yelled at the top of his lungs “MRS WHISKERS I NEED EVERYONE HERE ASAP!” Before he too jumped down to fight.
“Izuku!” Hitoshi yelled, running forward before his arm was grabbed by Kaminari.
“Where do you think you’re going!? We have to stay up here!” He yelled pulling Hitoshi away from the stairs.
“That’s my brother jackass let me go!”
Before Kaminari could respond they were dropped through portals, having missed everything that happened with Kurogiri.

The next thing Kaminari and Hitoshi knew, they were in the shipwreck zone.
The two boys were in the water, holding their breath as the villains swam towards them, both virtually useless.
That was until a tongue wrapped around them pulling them out of danger.
Soon they were on the boat, surrounded by villains watching as Tsu landed next to them.
“What should we do now *kero*?” Tsu asked, looking at her two companies.
“Well I need to get to the plaza.” Hitoshi said, looking sharply at Kaminari who glared back just as hard.
“What we need to go is find a way off this ship before the villains decide to flip it or something! So let’s start with this! What are your guy’s quirks? Mines electricity, I can shoot out electricity but only about 1.3 million volts before it fry’s my brain and I’m out.” Kaminari said, his eyes being the only thing to betray how scared he was.
“Frog,” Tsu said. “I can do basically anything a frog can do *kero*.”.
Both turned to Hitoshi who rolled his eyes.
“Brainwashing, I can control you if you respond to me.”.
The three were silent for roughly 10 seconds before Kaminari spoke up.
“Tsu, how far would you be able to carry the two of us? Like how you just did?” He said, his voice wavering slightly.
“I don’t know *kero*, not enough to get us all the way to shore, I could try but we still need to disable the villains here so they can’t follow *kero*.”
“I think I have an idea for that,” Hitoshi said, narrowing his eyes at the two other who students.
“Here’s what we’re gonna do…”.
(X)
Back at the pavilion Izuku was tired. Not all of his cats has shown up yet, though he could see Sunny and Cloudy running around blinding villains with either fog in their faces or extremely bright flashes of light.
Still though, even if he was tired Eraserhead and him had taken out a good portion of the villains, and as he finished bashing his Bo staff over one’s head he turned to see Eraserhead take out the last one with a punch to the face.
That left the grey haired man that was covered in hands and the bulking monster who Izuku was tying not to look to hard at.
Just then the warp-gate villain appeared back at the villains side.
“Shigaraki, I scattered the students across the USJ, just as we had planned but one managed to escape.”
Izuku made a mental note that the one with blue hair was named Shigaraki, before focusing on what Else the warp-Gate villain has said.
Someone had escaped! That meant help would be on the way, they just had to last for it.
“Kid you need to get out of here, let me handle this.” Izuku looked to where Aizawa was now standing by his side, staring at the villains still in front of him.
“No! I’m not leaving you here, I know how to fight, I have Shock and Jump as well! I’ll be fine!”.
“Kid-“ Aizawa didn’t have time to finish before Shigaraki started to talk.
“Cheater! There weren’t supposed to be any extra NPCs that would fight!” He was scratching at his neck, but the only thing Izuku could think of was how weird he talked. “Cheater? NPC? What’s the supposed to mean?” He thought.
“That’s not fair, that’s not fair! Nomu! Get him!”.
Izuku didn’t have time to think before the bird-like monster, the Nomu, rushed at him, faster than the eye could blink.
All he had time to do was slip his bag off his should and let it drop to the ground, freeing the two cats in his bag and hopefully bringing them to safety.
Then his body erupted in pain. He could hear someone screaming. Was it him? Or Aizawa? Probably him.
He was thrown to the side and he felt his neck snap back against the side of the fountain as pain bloomed from the back of his head.
Izuku blinked slowly as he lifted a hand to the back of his head. Blood? No that couldn’t be right. He hadn’t been this hurt since- since.
Suddenly all he could remember was screaming, blood pouring down his face as he watched his mentor’s sword drop to the ground. It was years ago, but he remembered it like it was yesterday.
Izuku felt hands on his shoulders and a voice calling his name, yet he couldn’t seem to move his body. Only stare at the blood on his hand.
“Artemis?” He mumbled. Flashes of a body falling to the ground in front of him, a hand splashing as it landing in a puddle of water. The rain pounding down on his head and laughing raging in the background.
“IZUKU!” Someone snatched his hand away and forced his head up.
“Toshi?”
(X)
“Hey fuckwads! Up here!” Hitoshi yelled, the villains attempting to flip the boat looked up at him.
He felt Tsu’s tongue wrapping around his waist.
“I’m all set!” Hitoshi didn’t even glance down at Kaminari, instead choosing to yell insults at the villains below.
“Now Tsu!” He whispered. Tsu gave a light nod before jumping into the air with Hitoshi, leaving Kaminari on the boat.
As soon as the pair was off the boat Kaminari sprung up, instantly sending bolts of electricity into the water.
You see, water and electricity don’t mix. At all. And with all the villains in the water, they really didn’t have a chance to begin with.
As soon as Kaminari stopped with the electricity he knew if he sent any more out it would cause his brain to fry, something he definitely didn’t want right now. Still he wince when Tsu’s tongue wrapped around him as well. Carrying them to freedom and safety.
“Okay, we have to go to the plaza now.” Hitoshi said as he started to walk in the direction of where it was.
“Oh hell no! You’ll get killed!” Kaminari whispered-shouted, grabbing Hitoshi’s wrist.
“You can’t stop me! My brothers over there!” Hitoshi snarled, ripping his hand away.
Kaminari sighed. “I know. That’s why I’m coming with you. Tsu, you can either come with us or go back to the stairs and try to escape.”.
Tsu blinked at him. “I’m going, if either Aizawa-sensei or Yamazawa are hurt I can get them out of there.”
Hitoshi nodded. “Sounds like a plan let’s go.”
“We don’t engage unless they need help though, if they’re hurt we can help but we should try to stay in the shadows, *kero*.”
“Fine. Let’s just go.” Hitoshi snapped.
They were just getting to the plaza, going slowly as to not splash the water when they moved when they heard the screams.
“IZUKU!” Hitoshi yelled, sprinting forward, not caring that there was a chance he could get hurt. Kaminari and Tsu ran after him.
The trio arrived just in time to see Izuku get thrown into the statue by a monster. Aizawa was yelling, but he couldn’t make it to Izuku.
Hitoshi didn’t hesitate to run forward, Kaminari not far behind him. Tsu was more focused on snatching Aizawa away from where Shigaraki was reaching for him.
“Hey, hey, hey, it’s gonna be okay Izuku, come on we gotta get you out of here.” Hitoshi said, grasping at Izuku’s shoulders. It was almost like he couldn’t hear them shouting.
Izuku was simply staring at the blood coating his gloves. It didn’t take long for Kaminari and Hitoshi to realize just exactly where that blood must have come from.
“Shit, shit, shit! Yamazawa! Keep him conscious! I’ll wrap his head!” Kaminari yelled, ripping the off his jacket and shirt before pulling the shirt apart to make bandages.
“Artemis?” The voice was mumbled but it was most definitely Izuku.
“IZUKU!” Hitoshi yelled again, the thoughts of who Artemis was pushed far back in his mind.
“Toshi?” Izuku mumbled again.
Kaminari started to wrap his head, looking as though he knew exactly what he was doing. When finished he threw one of Izuku’s arms over his shoulder.
“We gotta get him away from here, come on help me,” Hitoshi immediately understood and helped lift Izuku up.
Tsu was at their side in a second. “Here give him to me *kero* I’ll jump him to the top of the stairs.”.
Hitoshi hesitated before nodding and helping situate Izuku into her arms.
“No! You’re not allowed to get away! Cheaters! All of you are! Nomu! Kill them all!” Shigaraki yelled.
“No!” Aizawa shouted, but he was too far away to help.
Hitoshi thought he was going to die, he has seen the beast that could only be the Nomu when it got there. He squeezed his eyes shut and waited for a hit that would never come.
After roughly 5 seconds he opens his eyes to see the Nomu on the ground and everyone else standing in utter shock. For the thing that brought the Nomu down was a cat.
Not just a cat, no no, there were over 50 cats swarming it, while many others ran to Izuku, meowing and pawing at Tsu in an attempt to make her leave and bring their friend (and general) to safety.
“Is that thing allergic to cats?” Kaminari was staring in shock and the Nomu, whose black skin was turning splotchy and red. It’s beak opening and closing as if gasping for air.
Aizawa didn’t waste another second before punching Shigaraki in the face.
Shigaraki hissed, and again reached his hand towards Eraserhead, but he never got the chance before he was shot right in his outstretched hand.
He was shot 5 more times before the warp gate wrapped around him and the two disappeared.
Hitoshi, Tsu, and Kaminari looked at the top of the stairs in relief as their teachers swarmed in.
“Tsu, bring him up, now!” Hitoshi said, turning to the green-haired girl, who turned and carried Izuku up the stairs without another word.
With that, knowing Izuku would be safe Hitoshi sank to the ground. The events of the day finally catching up to him.
He was staring at the blood coating his hands, Izuku’s blood, his brother’s blood when he felt a jacket being put over his shoulders.
Startled, he looked over at Kaminari, who stood there in his ripped, dirty, white T-shirt, before crouching down and putting his arm around Hitoshi’s shoulders.
“Let’s get up there yeah? We can’t be sitting down here all day.” He muttered, lifting Hitoshi up with him.
Hitoshi nodded numbly.
“Hey you two, wait. I’ll walk up with you.” Aizawa said quietly, holding his injured arm.
Both Kaminari and Hitoshi nodded, before the trio started up the stairs, Kaminari’s arms not leaving Hitoshi was a second.

When Hizashi had heard that the USJ had been attacked he felt like his heart stopped. Both his kids and his husband were there!
Even though he knew Shouta and Izuku could handle themselves (Hitoshi as well, but he didn’t have as much experience) it still was a horrible feeling as he and the other teachers traveled to the USJ as fast as they could.
He couldn’t do much as Snipe shot what appeared to be the main villain, only stand there anxiously. That was until he saw Tsu, one of the students. Tsu and Izuku.
Immediately he was running towards the pair, calling for medical assistance as he went.
Izuku was a bloody mess. It was pouring down his face and neck, despite the cloth wrapped around his head. Tsu was desperately pressing her hands on the back of his head while mumbling reassurances (though they were for herself more than Izuku).
“Izuku!” Present Mic yelled (without his quirk) as he kneeled next to his students.
“He hit his head on the fountain *kero*,” Tsu supplied, removing her hands so Present Mic could pick Izuku up.
“Medic! I have a severely injured student here!” He screamed, he quirk leaking through as he raced his son to Recovery girl.
“Artemis?” Izuku whispered again, barely holding onto consciousness. He had started to cry.
“Shhh, shhh it’s ok honey, you’re going to be just fine.” Hizashi didn’t know who this “Artemis” was, but in that moment, it wasn’t the most pressing issue on his mind.
Recovery Girl immediately started working on Izuku, mostly wrapping his head better, she had deemed he didn’t have enough stamina just yet.
Without hesitating she handed Izuku off to the medics, who put him right into an ambulance.
“Hey wait! I’ll go with him, give me a sec!” Hizashi shouted, clambering into the back after Izuku.
Maybe it wasn’t the most professional of things, Hizashi didn’t want his son to be there alone.
Plus he had seen Hitoshi and Shouta walking up the stairs with another student, Kaminari Denki, so he knew they’d be alright, probably more upset if he didn’t go with Izuku.
As they drove to the hospital, the medics frantically preparing Izuku, Hizashi prayed that this would be the only hint that would happen this school year.
First years shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of stuff, even one that used to be the #2 most liked vigilante.
(X)
Izuku woke up slowly to the bright lights above him in the hospital.
His head was pounding and his body felt like lead.
“Dad?” He whispered.
Once he was able to realize this was a hospital, he knew his parents wouldn’t be far from him.
“I’m here Izuku, I’m here.” Came Shouta from the left side of him.
Izuku turned his head towards the sun immediately and blinked, willing for his vision to focus.
“Izuku I’m right here. Try not to move your head too much. You got a nasty concussion and quite the injury as well.”
Izuku could feel a hand on his shoulder, which he immediately leaned into.
“Hey Izuku?” Shouta asked, before quickly changing his mind.
Izuku didn’t need to be immediately drilled as to why he was wearing wedding bands around his neck as soon as he woke up or asked who Artemis was when it clearly upset him.
Izuku hummed “Yes dad?”.
Shouta sighed.
“Nothing Izuku, your brother and Papa will be here soon, I love you alright?”
Izuku gave a content little sigh before he was pulled back under.
“I love you too Dad.”.
Shouta ran his hand through his sons hair. He had a horrible feeling this wouldn’t be the last time they would have to face that kind of threat from the same people.
He could only hope to prepare his kids to the best of their ability.
