Work Text:
Carrie woke up to her alarm clock ringing louder than the pounding in her head. 8:00 AM classes! College is so fun!
“Uggghhh...” Carrie stuffed her face into her pillow, slamming the “snooze” button on her blaring alarm.
She felt a comforting warmth wrapped around her and smiled softly. Of course, she could sleep through that loud alarm.
Her soft, perfect blonde hair sprayed out on the pillow, with her soft, calm breathing, and angel-like face. Carrie was looking at the goddess on earth, Jennifer Sweeny. Her girlfriend. Who would have thought the girl she despised in high school would be asleep in her arms on a casual Tuesday morning?
“Jenny...I have to get up” As adorable she thought she was all cuddled up to her, she really was going to be late if she didn’t get going.
“Mmh...5 more minutes...” Jennifer tightened her grasp around her girlfriend’s waist, as if that were going to stop her from getting up.
Carrie sat there, her heart aching as the girl she's had a secret crush on since they were 17 just asked her to stay with them. So, who decided college was important? Nobody needs it anyway. Carrie decided to take the day off with her girlfriend.
“Alright Sunshine, you win. Come here lovely.” Carrie said.
Carrie pulled Jennifer in closer, she could feel Jennifer relaxing in her arms. The most popular girl in all of Suburbia High, the one who every single guy dreamed of dating or making eye contact with was in her arms.
Carrie was more of a social outcast, with only a few close friends. All she was really known for was being the “emo” kid. She mostly kept to herself, with her feelings and her thoughts. At the time she would’ve rather die than tell anyone Jennifer was the one she would fall asleep to imagining scenarios to at night. They were known to hate each other.
But after the events of everything, when the entire world fell apart in front of them, Carrie couldn’t understand why she felt so desperate to protect Jennifer from everything that was going on. Until it ended out hitting her quite literally like a brick.
Carrie Rosenburg had a massive lesbian crush on the most popular girl at Suburbia High, Jennifer Sweeney.
After the entire world nearly ended, she didn’t care what others at her school would have thought of her if she stopped pretending to hate Jennifer. She was so in love with her.
“Aren’t you going to be late for your classes?” Jennifer knocked her out of her train of thought with her question, like she totally forgot she couldn’t randomly daydream.
“I decided I’m going to stay with you for the day.” Carrie could see the way her girlfriend melted into her arms.
“I don’t know why I would leave when I have the whole universe in my arms right here.” Carrie gave her the softest smile watching Jennifer melt after hearing that.
So, Jennifer kissed her.
Carrie melted into the kiss immediately, she felt so relaxed. She wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
They saved the world, they deserve time to love each other now.
Carrie was sure of that.
