“You’re just like Baron Sally,” Luz reverently murmured mid-pet. “So cuddly…”
The white bundle of fuzz in her lap twitched her ears, paws flexing as it nestled itself further into the crook of her knee.
‘Cuddly Baron’ is a bit of an oxymoron. The cat rumbled. If you took a Baron’s ego and converted it to snails, you could buy the Emperor’s Palace and barely make a dent in your account.
“Ooh, you’re sassy, too,” Luz giggled, then sighed gently scritching the (very vivid) hallucination behind the ears. “You’d love Baron Sally. Maybe when we get the portal fixed, I’ll figure out what she’s a Baron of, then you can meet her!”
Forgive me, the feline ‘mrrp’ed, but what IS Baron Sally, exactly?
“A plushie,” Luz clarified. “Mamá gets sick around real cats.”
Ah. Satisfied with the answer, the feline extended her neck across the expanse of Luz’s thigh. Lucky I’m not a cat, then.
“Yeah,” Luz cooed before her smile suddenly drooped. “That's the only thing that stinks about getting better -- I don’t know if I’ll ever see you again…”
Oh, pish posh, the snow-white kitten gently mewled. You and Amity are practically attached at the hip.
The human blushed, then cocked her head. "Wait, what?"
Well, if I was just left to potter about the manor every time my witch came to visit this place, I suppose I'd go a bit mad.
The human’s hand paused, her eyes going wide. The kitten’s eyes stretched open, and she swiveled her head towards the suddenly stone-cold-sober human with some confusion.
“Are you real?!” Luz whispered, reverent.
…wouldn’t be ideal if I wasn't.
“…AMITYYYY!”
