Work Text:
It was a long night for spy. He comes home after a long night at his job at the accounting office, he was made to work overtime. This was before he got any business with Mann Co. in '57. He was a happy man then. The man only had one thing he ever loved, his wife. If something had made it so he could never see her, his heart would shatter into a million pieces with his heart acting as shrapnel from a grenade.
Well.. little did he know what he would do to his wife and his soon to be future child.
"Jane?"
"Oh! So good to see you after so long!" She exclaimed, jumping up to kiss Spy. The man couldn't help but giggle a little.
"It's been a long night at the office, could you fix me a drink?" His demeanor corroborating what he said.
"Sure." Jane said as she took off Spy's jacket. "Why don't you have a seat?"
Spy slumped in his chair, letting out a long exasperated sigh. To him, it felt as though his soul had come out his mouth from the sigh he let out. He closed his eyes, hoping to not doze off.
"[NAME REDACTED]? Are you still awake?" The man's head perked up at the sound of his wife's voice.
"A-huh. Yes?"
His wife sat down next to him, giving him a peck on the cheek as she gave him his glass.
"Looks like it took a lot off of you spending the whole night at the office."
"Ah Ouais. What time is it anyway?" He said as he took a sip of his whisky.
"Sacre-bleu. Is it really one in the morning?" He looked up at the clock as he caressed Jane's cheek.
"Yeah. You better go to sleep, unless you want to spend some time with me before you pass out." She said as she put her hand on Spy's leg.
"I won't be up to intercourse, I almost passed out on the couch here. The least you could do is give me a kiss and a bedtime story." He giggled as he finished his sentence.
"Alright. Let's get you to bed then."
The man walked over to the bed and tucked himself in as Jane gave him his kiss. The man put his finger up and opened his mouth as if he had something to say.
"Jane?"
"Yes?"
"You know the job I had been applying to for the past few months? At Mann co?"
"Go ahead..."
"I got the job. Finally."
Jane jumped up in excitement showering her husband in kisses. Spy had no energy to celebrate, mustering only a faint smile.
"I'm so glad! I could just rip the skin off of your face!"
"What?"
"Well.. I don't know how else to describe it."
"It's alright." He smirked.
"I'll have to start ripping off a lot of faces while I work for them."
"What? You're working as an assistant? Right?" She giggled
Spy realizes that he just exposed the true nature of his work. Well, that's what he thinks she knows.
"I mean metaphorically." He laughs awkwardly.
"Well. Enough talk," She pecks him once again before tucking herself in with her husband.
"Sleep well honey. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
