Chapter Text
The Wenut was a creature of the Sumeru desert.
One that Fujin fought before but it was immune to his Anemo attacks.
He left that fight with a grudge.
Now?
“DIE YOU FUCKING WORM!” Bakugo shouted as his gauntlets let loose a massive explosion.
The Wenut dodged his attack and dug into the ground, causing it to collapse below their feet.
“UNCLE WAN!” Carmine cried as she tried to run out before falling into the newly made opening but Wanderer grabbed her and held her.
Chargebolt screamed as he fell but Deku used Black Whip to grab him and Kamui Woods before they fell into the newly made entrance to the underground cavern.
Bakugo used his explosions to fly while Shoto used one leg to shoot out flames to keep him afloat.
“A Wenut… It had to be a Wenut.” Wanderer growled, looking at the underground cavern below.
Nahida gasped as she found the trail. “It’s below!” She called out.
“What?!” Nagant asked, her rifle coming out.
“The Ley Line is below us!” Nahida confirmed.
“Oh well that’s just great!” Burnin groaned. Toshinori looked at the cavern entrance.
“What are we waiting for!?” Bakugo, ever the bloodthirsty, blasted into the opening with Shoto following and Deku going right after with Chargebolt and Kamui still wrapped in Black Whip.
Wanderer rushed in after the others, Carmine clinging to him. “What do you know about this one?” Carmine asked as she saw the Wenut burrowing below the surface.
“It’s immune to my Anemo attacks.” Wanderer responded quietly enough for her to hear. “So wind attacks won’t do anything!” He called out to Deku specifically.
Deku understood the message. Any of his long range attacks were ineffective.
Bakugo rocketed to the ground and slammed his hands onto the sand. “LANDMINE!” He shouted as he let loose a powerful explosion right into the ground, sending sand and dirt flying.
The Wenut came out of the ground, enraged.
“Lacquered Chain Prison!” Kamui Woods shouted as the wood from his hands extended and binded the Wenut.
Shoto landed on the ground and created a glacier around the Wenut before he shot a fireball. “FlashFreeze Heatwave!” The cool air rapidly heated up and expanded, creating a superheated blast that damaged the Wenut, making it screech.
Wanderer landed and put Carmine down before blasting off to join the fight.
The Wenut then started to fly in the air, creating balls of compressed air.
“THAT THING CAN FLY!?” Kaminari screamed as he ran for cover.
From above, Creati ran to the edge of the entrance and frowned. “It’s a long way down…”
Mt. Lady ran up next to Creati and examined the cavern below, a grin blooming on her face.
Nagant came up with her rifle ready. “Damn it boss… He didn’t warn us about this.” The human rifle grumbled.
“We didn’t know the Wenut would be here.” Nahida commented as she, Toshinori and Burnin joined Nagant. “I have to get down there.” Nahida would have hovered down but…
“Are you crazy?!” Burnin asked in disbelief. “It’s too dangerous!”
Toshinori narrowed his eyes, watching as the battle ensued. “... The plant is giving the Wenut a boost in power isn’t it?”
“I believe so.” Nahida nodded. “So we have to find it and remove it from the equation.”
Burnin sighed before she picked up Nahida and grabbed Toshinori’s arm. “You got it from here?” She asked Nagant and Creati.
“Go.” Was all that Nagant said before Burnin jumped down and used her flaming hair to fly to the far part of the cavern.
With Edgeshot and Vine, Edgeshot was done wrapping Vine’s arm in bandages. “There, thankfully the laser didn’t cut deep.” Edgeshot commented.
Vine frowned as she looked at her arm, what Wanderer predicted had happened… “I can still fight.” Vine got up. “I just need to see the beast.”
“... Very Well.” Edgeshot up and ran to the edge of the cavern’s entrance with Vine following.
“This thing isn’t going down!” Chargebolt shouted as he shot more lightning but the Wenut kept diving out of the way.
Wanderer used Anemo to fly but focused on using Electro offensively, the Wenut shot out air bullets from its body, this was new. “It’s faster than it should be!” Wanderer called out.
The Wenut then shot out a stream at pressurized wind at the Wanderer, he flew out of it’s range.
Carmine used her crossbow to fire more explosive shots but the Wenut was too fast to get a good shot in. “Damn it!” She cursed as she ran out of ammo and Creati was above! Carmine took out a vial of blood and took a drink.
“STAY FUCKING STILL!” Bakugo shouted as he landed on a large rock and took aim. “AP SHOT!” He shot compressed explosions at the Wenut but it kept dodging and diving into the ground. “FUCK!”
Burnin landed and Nahida rushed to where the trail was leading her, Toshinori and Burnin followed until they found it.
It was half the size of Nahida.
“That’s the Ley Line?” Burnin blinked in surprise.
“Yes.” Nahida raised her hand to overload the Ley Line with elemental energy.
Back at the battle, Shoto shot more flames at the Wenut with gritted teeth. “We need to bind it again and take it down in one shot!” He shouted. from above Creati and Nagant were providing cover fire.
Chargebolt rushed in to grab it and shouted. “1.2 Million VOLTS!” He shouted, his body and by extension the Wenut, were covered in electricity but it wasn’t enough as Chargebolt let go, now in his derp mode. “Weeheyy” Edgeshot came in and pulled Chargebolt out of the battle.
“TIme to stay still!” Sero shouted as he swung close but was swatted away by the Wenut and hit a stalactite, knocking him out, Edgeshot caught him before he could fall.
“St. Louis SMASH!” Deku came flying in with a flying kick, he got a hit in and grabbed the Wenut with Black Whip. “GOT IT-GAH!” The Wenut dived into the ground and Deku couldn’t follow it underground.
Wanderer created a sphere of Anemo and threw it at the ground, the sphere exploded and the Wenut came flying out.
Just then from above, Mt. Lady came crashing down in her enlarged form and grabbed the Wenut. “You’re not going anywhere!” Mt. Lady smirked but it fell as it slithered out of her hands. “HEY!” it flicked its tail at her face as it slithered out of her reach. “OW!”
Burnin was watching with a frown, she turned to Nahida. “Kid! Can you do that thing again?”
Nahida paused as she looked at the ongoing battle. “I… I think so.” She looked at the Ley Line.
Creating the temple took a lot of her energy, depending on the size.
But…
Nahida reached out and started to take power from the Ley Line, she took a deep breath before exhaling slowly. “Okay, now I need to get close.” She turned to Bunrin, who nodded in understanding.
“Please be careful.” Toshinori told them that as Burnin took Nahida and rushed to the battle, the retired pro felt useless…
Once Burnin got Nahida close, Nahida released her dendro power. “Share in my Knowledge!” She shouted, the Temple of Wisdom forming around everyone.
Bakugo smirked as his explosions became more potent.
Shoto shot more fireballs at the Wenut but it flew out of the way, but more fireballs came from it’s other side, another Shoto was standing there, Wanderer saw this and knew that it was Carmine
The Wenut tried to burrow into the ground before Vine used her hair to bind it with Kamui using his wood to do the same.
Edgeshot, becoming paper thin, drawing a knife, he rushed forward and ran his blade down the Wenut’s body.
“Take this!” Mt. Lady slammed her fist down the Wenut, causing it to slam onto the ground and more vines and wood worked to bind it.
“MANCHESTER SMASH!” Deku came crashing down like lightning at the Wenut’s head with an axe kick, his iron soles crashing against it, making it screech in pain as it tried to get out, its body pulsating with wind, giving cuts to all who were near it.
Bakugo flew into the air and started spinning for his ultimate move.
Wanderer stabbed his sword into its tail and pushed electro into the blade, covering the Wenut in electricity just as Deku jumped away.
Shoto rushed to the front of the Wenut with his left fist covered in bright blue flames. “FLASHFIRE FIST: JETFIRE!” He threw his fist and a concentrated torrent of blue flames engulfed the Wenut just after Wanderer flew out of the way.
Carmine, still transformed as Shoto, came up behind the original and used Shoto’s ice ability to cool him down and pulled him away just as the coup de grace was about to hit!
Bakugo spun faster and the flames only fueled his attack. “HOWITZER IMPACT!!!” The human missile hit the Wenut, causing a huge explosion!
Wanderer covered his face as the sand flew all over. When the dust settled, Bakugo was standing over the Wenut in triumph with a mad grin on his face.
“... He’s never gonna live this down.” Deku said in dread.
“If he doesn’t I’ll beat some sense into him.” Wanderer assured Deku.
“FUCK YEAH! THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!” Bakugo felt amazing!
Fighting these things got his blood pumping!
Sure he had help but he dealt the finishing blow!
Wanderer flew to the Ley Line and saw Nahida sending more elemental energy through it. “Here.” He held out his hand and started to add his own elemental energy.
Anemo green and Electro purple energy flowed with Nahida's Dendro energy.
The Ley Line soon crumbled under the energy.
Edgeshot walked up to them. “So… No need to fight huh?” Edgeshot asked with a smug tone of voice.
Wanderer sighed. “Shut up…”
As the heroes left the chamber and the pyramid altogether, they were greeted with a rising sun.
“Man… This was wild.” Mt. Lady stretched. “Those things were tough.”
“You fought those things before?” Nagant asked her boss, who sighed.
“The Wenut? Yes, it was an annoying thing that had a nasty habit of digging underground, but it stayed in a single area so it wasn’t bothering anyone.” Wanderer explained. “As for the machine, no.”
“What about Nahida’s trick?” Shoto asked, looking at the little girl who was on Toshinori’s shoulder.
“Later.” Wanderer gave him a look as they approached the cars. “We’ll talk back at the hotel.” Wanderer took off his hat and took Bakugo’s gauntlets, which the teen gave after taking them off, and placed them in the trunk.
“Agreed, we shouldn’t stay here longer than we should.” Nagant commented as she got into one of the vehicles.
Wanderer paused and looked at the pyramids, what other secrets did this hold?
… Well, now that the Leyline was taken care of, the ruins are just that, ruins.
He’d let Salaam know once he returned to the hotel.
“Bakugo, wipe that smirk off your face.” Wanderer ordered the ash blonde who’s smirk dropped in an instant.
Back at the hotel, the interns were lounging in the hotel’s cafe with drinks while the pros plus Nahida were elsewhere.
Momo sipped her tea before she looked at Izuku. “Midoriya, you have your notebook right?” She asked the green haired boy.
Izuku jumped a bit at the question. “I do.” He answered.
“Do you have Nahida written down?” Momo asked with a tilt of her head.
Kaminari blinked before he realized something. “Oh yeah, you write down notes about other people’s quirks!”
Himiko looked at Izuku.
Izuku was thankfully prepared, he knew that writing the real thing was risky, so he did it in a separate notebook than the one he writes his Quirk Notes, in that notebook, he, Nahida and Wanderer were able to create cover entries!
Izuku took out his notebook and flipped through the pages before stopping at Nahida’s page.
The other interns, even Bakugo, leaned in to read.
Name: Nahida Kusanlai
Age: 8
Quirk: Dendro (From the Greek Word Dendron, which means Tree)
Quirk Description: Nahida's quirk is depicted as telepathic but in reality, her quirk is energy that closely resembles nature itself,
She can form the energy into constructs, such a swing she likes to sit on. {Attached is a Picture of Nahida swinging in the office next to Wanderer’s desk}
And a large temple construct she calls the "Temple of Wisdom" which enhances the natural elemental energies such as fire and lighting, when the energy comes to contact with water, plant life flourishes.
A side effect of this energy is that her mind is enhanced, her IQ doubled, she's smarter than most adults and from my observations... Can match Principal Nezu with his High Specs quirk.
This mental enhancement allows her to read people's minds and even enter people's dreams and influence it depending on a person's mental fortitude.
Ibara read with wide eyes. “Her quirk is so versatile!” She exclaimed in shock at the entry. “Is this truly accurate?”
“I spoke with Nahida and Wanderer about it.” Izuku confirmed with a nod.
Shoto frowned at that. “She’s Wanderer’s cousin right?” He asked Himiko.
“Yup.” Himiko nodded. “His mom has a powerful lightning quirk, from what I heard, she was able to create a large ravine with just a swipe of her blade.”
Kaminari shuddered in fear, he recalled hitting on her when he saw her after the provisional exam.
Bakugo looked at Himiko. “And what about the uncle with the wind quirk?” He asked.
Himiko hummed. “He can create powerful wind currents and even a vortex if he wanted to.” Himiko explained.
“Geez, Wanderer’s family is scary…” Kaminari shuddered.
Suddenly, Melissa came rushing out to the teens. “Hey guys!” Melissa smiled. “How’d the search go?”
Bakugo smirked. “Kickass!” He exclaimed.
Momo frowned. “I wouldn’t consider it as such… We found what we were looking for, but we were met with resistance, a machine that Wanderer called “The Overseer” The technology was unlike any I’ve seen before.” Momo explained.
Melissa perked up. “A machine? What did it look like?” She asked, taking a seat next to Momo
“Well… Izu?” Himiko looked at Izuku. “You sketched it right?” She asked her best friend.
The boy blushed but flipped the pages of his notebook until he reached the page with the Overseer.
Melissa took the book and examined the sketches. “... Wow… Wait… According to this, it created cannons and smaller machines out of thin air?” Melissa asked in disbelief.
“Yeah, it created cannons that shot powerful lasers.” Kaminari recounted the fight with a suave grin. “It was weak against electricity though and I’m the one who helped take it down.” Kaminari winked at Melissa.
“... It was a group effort.” Sero deadpanned.
“Wow… I wish I could have examined it.” Melissa looked at the drawing again.
“It vanished into dust as soon as it was defeated.” Shoto told her. “Just like the Aeondrake the top three took down.”
Melissa frowned. “How does it work…” She muttered.
“And that wasn’t even the end of it.” Himiko took a glass of pomegranate juice and took a sip before continuing. “There was another thing we encountered… The Wenut.”
Kaminari and Sero snorted. “For a scary thing, it has a weird name…” Sero chuckled.
“Was it another machine?” Melissa asked before looking at Izuku’s notebook and flipping the page to see for herself, she paused. “... A monster?”
“Yeah.” Izuku nodded in confirmation. “It could control the wind just like Wanderer, so any attacks using wind was… not a good idea.”
“My explosions were more than enough to kill it.” Bakugo boasted with a smirk.
“So did Todoroki’s flames.” Himiko added, making the bomber growl in irritation.
“Yo!” The interns turned to see Burnin and Lady Nagant walking over with drinks of their own. “Deku! Boss is asking for you in his room!”
Izuku blinked but nodded and got up. “I’ll be right there!”
Wanderer was in his room, on the phone. “Okay, thank you, lay low and maintain your cover, once I return, we’ll work on execution.”
The puppet listened to the person on the other end and responded. “I’m working on it, just be sure to not draw any attention to yourself, I have to go.” Wanderer hung up and sighed.
Things were going smoothly so far.
Fujin sat on the bed and took out a few items, the Overseer dropped it when it vanished.
Parts of it…. It was odd, why did this drop while according to Nahida, nothing dropped from the Aeondrake nor did the Wenut drop anything…
Fujin would give this to Faruzan…
There was a knock on the door before Toshinori, Izuku and Nahida walked in.
“Good, you’re all here.” Fujin put the items in his pocket before mentioning for them to sit down on the sofa in his room.
Nahida got on the bed and sat down with a smile, Izuku and Toshinori sat down. “Is this about One for All?” Toshinori asked, Izuku looked at his mentor.
“Yes, Nahida told me she figured something out, we’ll be delving into One for All to gather more information.” Fujin sat down on the arm chair. “Toshinori, we’ll be using you as a catalyst.”
The former number one blinked. “But… I don’t have One for All anymore.” He said.
“You’re wrong, even after using up the embers, it’s still connected to you.” Nahida explained. “You had 100% synchronization with the quirk. So if we connect you and Izuku in the same dreamscape, we’ll use your mind to keep Izuku from being covered in smoke.” Nahida smiled.
Izuku stiffened. “So… You can really do that?” He asked her.
Nahida giggled. “Well… Not to boast but I am the God of Dreams.”
Fujin chuckled. “It’s true, she was able to trap me in a loop that lasted 168 cycles.”
The OFA Duo looked at Fujin in shock. “That many?” Toshinori asked in disbelief. “Why?”
“I was a villain and she stopped me.” Fujin responded, making Toshinori pause. It was so hard to imagine the puppet in front of him as a villain.
Izuku had it even harder, Wanderer, a villain… It felt… Impossible.
“Putting us all in a shared dream won’t be an issue.” Nahida spoke up. “All you need to do is get comfortable.”
Toshinori leaned back as did Izuku.
Fujin sat on the bed and crossed his arms, closing his eyes.
“In and out.” Nahida’s voice filled their heads and it was soothing.
Izuku opened his eyes and he found himself in… UA?
The green haired boy looked around, yes, he was in UA, more specifically, one of UA’s Lounge rooms… But bigger
“Hmmm, interesting choice.” Izuku turned to the side and saw Nahida in what he called her Archon outfit.
“I remember this place.” Fujin appeared out of thin air, walking to the window to see the forest outside of UA. “I used to stay here during my time at UA.”
Toshinori manifested next, his eyes darting around before landing on Izuku. “Young Midoriya.” He acknowledged. “Is this really a dream? It’s so… Real.”
“That’s how Buer’s dreams are.” Fujin chuckled.
Suddenly, seven lights left Izuku’s body and manifested into people, spread out across the room.
Yoichi manifested on one of the sofas with 2nd and 3rd manifesting on each side of him rather protectively.
Hikage Shimanori manifested, leaning against the wall, Daigoro Banjo manifested on another couch,
En Tayutai manifested next, sitting on the arm of the sofa Daigoro was sitting on and Nana Shimura manifested in front of Toshinori, as soon as she manifested, she hugged him tightly, surprising the 8th user. “TOSHI!” Nana cried and hugged her successor.
The blond man hugged her back, stunned before tears welled up in his eyes and he hugged her back. “Master!” He cried as he held the woman he considered a mother for the longest time.
Nahida watched with a smile as did Izuku, they were both glad to reunite the two.
Fujin was eyeing the 2nd and 3rd users, they eyed him back.
After Toshinori and Nana finally separated, Nana looked at Izuku. “Sorry about that Nine, I got emotional.” Nana wiped away her tears.
“It’s alright, take all the time you need.” Izuku smiled. “Wanderer actually wanted to do this.”
2nd scoffed. “To grill us for information.”
“I’m simply preparing for the worst, you know all about doing that don’t you?” Wanderer asked, giving the 2nd a small glare.
Yoichi sighed. “Please… Let’s not fight.”
The 3rd user looked at Wanderer. “Forgive us for our callus nature, but we’re not comfortable with sharing information.”
The puppet narrowed his eyes. “Is it because of Midoriya or the way the world is now?”
2nd looked at Wanderer. “We do not acknowledge him.” Deliberately ignoring Izuku.
“Because of his optimism and ideals?” Wanderer asked with a scowl. “From my understanding, you worked hard to stop All For One in order to create the society he's living in.”
“Yet All For One still lives and Tomura Shigaraki is still out there.” Kudo argued. “And who knows how many followers that monster has!”
“Then aid Deku in putting that monster down because Yagi can't do it.” Fujin pointed at the former pro. “You're biased because you believe that Deku will fail, well if you think your method is gonna help us win, then why didn't you try it back then?” Wanderer walked up to 2nd who stood up, glaring at the Puppet. “Oh wait you did and LOOK WHERE THAT GOT YOU!” The Puppet nearly shouted in the end.
2nd glared hard at Wanderer but 3rd got up. “Kudo… he's right.” 3rd told Kudo. “We tried it our way… it didn't work, we need to let them do it their way, we have to help them.”
Kudo glared at 3rd before sighing. “You saw what All For One did, Bruce.”
“I do, I fought with you till you died and gave One for All to me, things have changed and All For One is on the defensive.” Bruce got up from the sofa, “We can’t do things the way we did back then, we were soldiers in a war.”
Kudo scowled. “Yet it looks like Wanderer is preparing for war.” He retorted.
Wanderer scoffed. “Of course I am, but there’s a saying… A wise warrior never seeks out war, but must always be ready for it.” Wanderer crossed his arms.
Nahida blinked. “... Was that from a movie?” She whispered.
“Not now.”
Yoichi stood up. “He’s right, we need everyone’s cooperation if we are to defeat my brother.” The frail man looked at Kudo and Bruce. “Please my heroes.”
Kudo stared at Yoichi before looking at Nana. “Are you going to tell him?” He asked her, Nana’s face turned solemn.
Fujin and Nahida looked confused as did Izuku.
“... Tomura Shigaraki is my grandson… Tenko Shimura.” Nana revealed,
Izuku’s jaw dropped. “WHAT?!” He screeched.
Wanderer’s eyes shot to Toshinori who looked away. “You knew… And didn’t say anything?”
“8th wants to save him.” Kudo shook his head. “And I know that his successor will want to do the same.”
Izuku looked at Kudo before he looked down at his feet, his silence was enough of an answer.
Nahida frowned and looked at Wanderer, the two shared a look before the puppet spoke. “Show me their memories of Tomura Shigaraki.” He ordered.
Nahida obliged, her eyes glowing green as she created a green cube of information from a combination of Izuku and Toshinori’s memories.
The puppet placed his hands on the cube, he closed his eyes as he viewed the memories.
Nahida looked at Toshinori. “You don’t view him as a villain anymore…” She wasn’t asking.
Toshinori knew he couldn’t lie, he shook his head. “No… Ever since All For One told me… I couldn’t look at him as just a villain.” That young man was his master’s grandson… How can he look at him as a villain?
“So are you going to excuse all his crimes?” Wanderer asked after he finished viewing the memories, the interactions Toshinori and Izuku had with Tomura. “He’s a man child… Full of hate.” Wanderer sighed. “He’s been molded by All for One.”
“I thought he would have made his successor more mature…” Hikage commented.
“All for One made Tomura into his successor, trying to cultivate his hate…” Wanderer cupped his chin, before looking around at the users of OFA.
The puppet narrowed his eyes, during his time as the Balladeer, he stopped at nothing in getting the Electro Gnosis… He did everything he could, even… Creating a new vessel… “First.” Wanderer looked at Yoichi. “When you and your brother were younger, how did he act towards you?”
The frail man blinked. “He… He always kept me close… When he needed to do something, he’d lock me up…”
Obsession…
“He always kept you by his side?” Wanderer questioned. “What about your parents?”
“He was all I ever knew… He took care of me… he gave me the name Yoichi…” Yoichi looked down.
“Where are you going with this?” Nana asked with a frown.
“... He wants One for All.” Wanderer said.
Daigoro scoffed. “Yeah, we already know that.” The bald man leaned back on the sofa.
“No, he is obsessed with One for All because it was Yoichi’s quirk.” Wanderer explained as the pieces came together. “He’s an obsessive hoarder…” The puppet’s eyes narrowed.
Izuku understood. “He’s obsessed with quirks, he wants to have them all, right?” Izuku looked at Yoichi who nodded slowly.
Wanderer looked at Nana. “He’s going to use Tomura to get One for All, that’s why he’s nurturing Tomura’s hatred for everything.”
Bruce frowned. “But why?” He asked.
Nahida looked around. “Because of you, the vestiges, you all act as chains for One for All to remain in your current wielder, your will keeps One for All safe.”
Wanderer picked up on her thought process. “And it would take a strong will or very strong emotions to break through those defenses… All for One is psychopathic, so he doesn’t have the same strong emotions as Tomura… And with his body in the state it's because of All Might.
Nahida narrowed her eyes. “He plans to implant his consciousness into Tomura’s body… And use it to take One for All.” She deduced.
The whole room went silent.
Nana started to tear up and her shoulders started to shake, En sat next to her and wrapped an arm around her in a comforting manner.
Yoichi looked sad and apologetic.
Toshinori looked horrified. “He wouldn’t… No… He would.” The blonde man sighed.
Kudo glared at the floor. “... So what now?” He asked in a bitter tone.
“Now we train.” Wanderer stepped forward. “If I know narcissistic psychopaths, All for One wants Tomura’s body to be perfect, meaning he has help of the medical kind, the Nomu were just tests.” The puppet put a hand on his chin.
Izuku’s eyes widened in realization. “They’re trying to create the perfect body… A body that can handle multiple quirks and adjust to the mutations.” He muttered.
Bruce frowned. “That must be why they’re making so many Nomu, trial and error, the errors becoming mindless monsters for All For One’s army.”
Wanderer narrowed his eyes. “The High End I fought in Kamino was capable of thought and could speak…”
“If more of them are out there, we need to destroy them.” Daigoro frowned. “But we don’t know squat.”
“I have some contacts I can reach out to, they’ll probably find something.” Wanderer recalled his underground network.
“What do we do with… Him?” En asked, slowly nodding to Nana.
Right… Her grandson…
“... We can’t imprison him.” Wanderer said, Izuku and Toshinori looked at Wanderer. “He’s too dangerous, so is All For One, if I had it my way, I would have executed All For One…”
“Is there no other way?” Izuku asked. “Can’t we save him.
“... It’s hard to save those who don’t want to be saved.” Wanderer explained. “They won’t take your hand if you reach out for it… Nor will they be grateful if you do.”
Nahida looked at Wanderer, remembering how he was like that
Wanderer sighed as he looked at Nana, he walked over and put a hand on the woman’s shoulder, Nana looked up with tears streaming down her cheeks. “We’ll try to help him, but I can’t make any promises.” Wanderer’s tone was soft and understanding.
Nana sniffed and gave a shaky smile. “Thank you…”
Bruce decided to change the subject, now willing to open up. “You asked about our meta abilities before, mine is called Fa Jin.” Bruce told Izuku, Kudo gave Bruce a look.
Nahida blinked and hummed. It was named after a Chinese martial arts technique.
“My meta ability allows me to build up kinetic energy by performing repetitive movements in the respective limb.” Bruce explained.
Izuku gasped, that was amazing! If he could master that power, he could probably become stronger without having to go over his limit!
“Repetitive movement… It makes sense.” The puppet nodded. “But that means he’ll need to store it beforehand, hide or have someone deal with the opponent so he can have energy stored up.”
“That’s correct.” Bruce gave a small smile.
Kudo stared at Wanderer before he took a breath. “My meta ability is called Gearshift.”
Wanderer turned to Kudo. “Gearshift?”
“Yes, my quirk allows me to change the speed of anything I touch without worrying about inertia.” Kudo explained.
Wanderer blinked… How in the everloving fuck did a quirk exist?
Izuku and Toshinori looked shocked at the description.
Kudo rubbed the support item on his wrist. “Before it would only affect small objects, but over time with One For All, you can possibly use it on the human body.” He looked at Izuku. “It’s a dangerous power, if you use it on yourself or someone else, be very careful, if you accelerate the body for too long, it won’t be able to take enough oxygen…”
Izuku gulped at the image. “Understood…
Wanderer looked at Izuku. “... Breathing exercises, expanding your lungs and reflex training.”
Izuku whimpered.
The other users plus Nahida couldn’t help but laugh at Izuku, even Nana let out a laugh at the poor boy’s face.
After a day of recovering and signing an NDA for finding a new room in an ancient landmark, Wanderer decided that since they did what they set out to do in Egypt, it’s best to move on.
“Geez, can’t believe that you’re all riding in style.” Kaminari complained as the two teams were at the airfield with team Wanderer loading up their luggage.
“Helps when you’re working with the number 1 hero.” Himiko smirked as she passed by him and patted his shoulder.
“You should head back to Japan.” Wanderer told the Lurkers. “It’s top 10 heroes have been out of the country for too long.”
“And what about you?” Kamui Woods asked.
“I still have a mission to complete in Paris.” Wanderer sighed. “We’re actually ahead of schedule, I asked for two weeks, hopefully this can be done in a few days.”
“Not even planning on relaxing in the city of love?” Mt. Lady smirked. “I know Ryukyu won’t mind.”
“... Why would she not mind?” Fujin asked with a frown.
Kamui elbowed the blond woman. “What she means is that you should spend some time relaxing and not just working.”
“I can relax, but you saw what we went up against, if the ley line is anything like the one here, I doubt things will be easy.” Wanderer crossed his arms.
“Well good luck with that… Are you sure you can’t drop us off?” Mt. Lady asked in a pleading tone.
“No.”
“Awe.” Mt. Lady slumped.
After bidding team Lurkers farewell, Melissa got them into the air and team Wanderer flew to their destination.
In the France Countryside, there was a town, abandoned for who knew how long, mental fences were erected to keep out any trespassers, on the fence, there was a sign with the trefoil symbol, indicating that the area was radioactive.
No animals came near the town, no plant life grew either, it was a ghost town.
Deep in the town a single plant was able to grow, it glowed and pulsed with energy that was not known to the inhabitants of this world.
Flames flickered around it before it went dormant, still glowing ever so slightly.
