Work Text:
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”, Meg asked Apollo, flexing her fingers on the wheel of the sun chariot.
“You’ll be fine”, he smiled brightly at her.
“Nico said that’s what you said about Thalia before she crashed your chariot into the lake at camp-half blood”
“And no-one got hurt. So she was fine”
Meg grunted. Can’t argue with that logic.
“Remember, speed is heat. We don’t want a heat wave in november”
She lightly pressed her foot onto the gas and the sun chariot started going up into the air slowly.
She was mesmerized by the view it formed beneath them. She’d never flown in an airplane before and she figured this was the closest she’d ever get to it.
Apollo lightly guided her and Meg felt sentimental tears well up in her eyes.
She was so grateful for everything he had done for her. And she was so grateful that she had him in her life.
“Meg?”, he sounded concerned.
She looked up at him and wiped the tears from her eyes. She let out a breathy laugh.
“Sorry, I was just getting sentimental”
“It’s time to land”, he told her softly.
“Oh, right”
With his guidance she safely landed and guided the horses into the stables. She brushed them softly while Apollo fed them.
When he was done he got up and walked over to her.
“So. Was that fun?”
“Duh, you dummy”
“Then we should do it more often”, he smiled down at her gently and Meg didn’t think there was anything that could go wrong in her life.
