Jedi Knight Agen Kolar, at your disposal...until I had my doubts about your ability to complete this mission. Now, if you bother me, I'll strangle you with your stupid hair.

Summary:

Agen was not sure what he had expected when he was told to join a Shadow to help with his mission, but he had not expected a mountain of human muscle with disheveled hair and the characteristic semi-wild look of someone who had not seen a razor or brush in a few months.
- I am Quinlan Vos, Jedi Knight.
Agen shook his head and nodded.
- Knight Agen Kolar.
- I know. Follow me.
Hmm... he did not waste any time, Agen liked that.

Work Text:

Agen was not sure what he had expected when he was told to join a Shadow to help with his mission, but he had not expected a mountain of human muscle with disheveled hair and the characteristic semi-wild look of someone who had not seen a razor or brush in a few months.

     - I am Quinlan Vos, Jedi Knight.

Agen shook his head and nodded.

     - Knight Agen Kolar.

     - I know. Follow me.

Hmm... he did not waste any time, Agen liked that.

The human with the strange golden Kiffu on his nose led him through a maze of increasingly narrow and rickety streets until he entered a building so lean that he had to bump the door with his shoulder to open it.

     - "Welcome to my palace," he said wryly, presenting the room with a large move.

Agen had already spotted the most important points: a bed on the left behind a small kitchen area, on the right a screen blocked the view of what was probably the bathroom, and next to it a carpet for meditation and a wardrobe. It was tiny, and there were no windows, no escape routes, the perfect place to put someone you do not fully trust. Lucky for them they were Jedi and could literally open walls with bare-handed Force Push, it was even one of Agen specialty, Force pushes.

The Zabrak set his bag down beside the wardrobe and took a few steps while relaxing his shoulders.

     - "I have already been informed that the details of the mission were unclear and that communication with the Temple had been tricky," he said calmly, starting the conversation.

     - "Good," the other muttered as he slumped back on the bed, but Agen was not fooled, the human was entirely focused on him. "So, I know I told the Order I needed an ally for a mission to gain the gang's trust, but since then I've had to change some parameters. They were really suspicious and asked me why I was so sure you wouldn't betray me. I replied that we were a couple."

   Agen blinked slowly.

     - "How much stupid are you, Knight Vos?" he finally asked. "We don't know each other at all, we won't be credible for a second."

    - "We will be, if we make the necessary efforts," the other replied with a sly smile. "But if a little contact offends your sensibilities, you can go back to the Temple."

With such nonchalance and casualness, Agen now seriously doubted the success of the mission.

     - "I didn't say I was giving up," the Zabrak pointed out.

He couldn't let this guy go on alone and unsupervised, he had to make sure they succeeded.

     - Start by calling me Quinlan in private.

If he thought he could make him uncomfortable so easily, he was wrong. Two could play at that game.

The Zabrak smiled and moved closer to the Kiffar so their chests were touching before placing his right hand on his cheek.

     - Call me Agen, darling.

Quinlan looked at him with wide eyes, blushing slightly as Agen retrieved some clothes to sleep in and changed. The human chuckled to himself and stretched with a yawn.

     - I have a feeling we're going to get along just fine, let's get some sleep, we'll work out the details in the morning.

     - Alright.

Agen checked his com and smiled at the message from his best friend, Eeth had taken a picture of the boy Agen wanted to take as a Padawan when he was old enough. It was cute.

He lost his smile as he looked up at the adult human lying down, who was already ignoring him, and carefully lay back down.

The two of them fit in the bed, but it was not comfortable when the two big men were respectfully trying not to touch and embarrass each other.

In the silence and without any conversation, Agen became acutely aware of how loud the outside noises were in this flat. The criminals did not offer an incredible quality of accommodation to their new members.

Suddenly, a freezing draught slid under his tunic and touched his back, leaving Agen completely tense and stiff. It was freezing cold! Force, it was so cold, and the building had so little insulation! He held back his shaking but he honestly could not think of anything else, it was a living hell, his body was not made for such low temperatures.

Moving a hand a little further than he had intended, he touched a spot on the mattress that was much warmer. That was where Quinlan was.

He was so warm. Agen could think of nothing else but that. Quinlan stiffened under him as he wrapped his arms around him before he seemed to understand and shook himself free. Agen let go immediately and stepped back before letting a small, surprised noise escape him as the human pulled him into an embrace and wrapped himself around him, even boldly slipping one bare leg between his. Even through his trousers, Agen could feel the burning heat of Quinlan's body warming him.

     - Were you cold?

     - Yes, I was.

     - Hmm... never mind.

Good, he would have hated to back down if the other had said he was uncomfortable.

     - You smell good.

     - "What?!" said the other, coughing.

     - "You smell good," Agen repeated, his eyelids heavy, dropping against the human.

     - Oh... Okay.

If Quinlan said anything more, Agen did not hear him.

He was quick to fall asleep when he was warm.
