Chapter Text
Yang's bike growled deeply as she pulled into the lot of Madam's, weaving through the private parking before coming to a stop and pushing her kickstand down. She lifted her helmet carefully, trying not to disturb her hair too much. Too much time went into making it look nice to ruin it before even stepping into the club.
She weaved through the other guests as she entered the building, fiddling with the collar of her shirt nervously. Weiss had told her to dress nice after all, and yet even in a suit she felt underdressed compared to the intricate gear that some of the people were wearing. As she pushed closer the bar, she kept a close eye out for Weiss, unable to see her amongst the crowd.
Going to order a drink, she could at least recognize the freckled woman that had been running the bar last time. She gave her a small smile, thankful she wouldn't have to argue with someone new about how she could most definitely put something on Weiss's tab. Even if it was a virgin drink, it helped soothe her nerves as she sipped on it, going back to watching for her friend.
As the time ticked along she almost started getting worried, she tried not to let it show on her face as she ordered another drink to cradle while she scanned the room again, and again. A tap on her shoulder alerted her and she turned, “It’s about time I thought you would make me wait fore….” Her sentence was cut short as her gaze connected with not her white haired friend, but a familiar masked face.
Her chuckle was almost intoxicating, “Hello Yang, I didn’t think I would see you here again.” Yang's mouth gaped for a slight moment before she remembered that she should at least try not to make a fool of herself. "Yeah well y'know, Weiss is forcing me out of the house again, plus the drinks here aren't half bad." She rubbed the back of her neck as she spoke, looking down at the sharp eyes peeking through that mask. Yang gulped a little nervously as Blake smiled at her, "You remembered my name."
Blake chuckled once again, "Of course, I couldn't forget a face like yours." She purred softly, before motioning to the bartender who nodded, and reaching out to grab Yang's hand. Yang startled a little, hoping the cold metal wouldn't disturb her, although she didn't get any time to worry as the woman started to lead her through the crowd.
"Not that I mind but where are we going?" She could see the familiar ropes containing the vip section coming into view slowly. "Weiss asked me to come grab you for her, she's busy talking to a couple of our suppliers so it'll be a few more minutes before she joins you."
Entering the VIP area she was dragged to a very familiar table, although this time completely devoid of any other patrons. Yang sat nervously across from Blake, sipping her drink as she averted her eyes towards the show on the stage. Although she was looking away she could feel the curious gaze on her. When she turned back hesitantly she noticed a small smirk on the faunus's lips.
"So, tell me about yourself, Yang." She froze, struggling to come up with any response, thinking to herself for more than a few moments. "Uh well, what do you want to know?" Blake giggled, "Anything, but if it helps, how about you tell me, what you like to do for fun?"
After a while the conversation got progressively easier, nervousness slowly leaving Yang's body. She rambled on about a few parts of her life, telling Blake about her time in university with Weiss.
"Yea, I was even a pretty big boxer up until I lost my arm, I had to quit after that and I just never got back into it." A small expression of concern flashed across Blake's face, and she reached out hesitantly to run her fingers along Yang's metallic ones. "If you feel comfortable answering, how did you end up losing it?"
Yang looked down into her glass for a few moments, her arm had always been a sore point of discussion for her. She wasn't fond of talking about it but Blake... she felt oddly comfortable around her. "A few years ago, some guy was driving like a maniac and ended up hitting me at full speed. Honestly... I think I'm lucky that I only ended up with a missing arm."
Blake gripped her hand softly, looking up at her from across the table through that damn mask. Yang sighed before continuing, "I have a sister, we were always close before but after my accident I ended up pulling away a bit. I think having to be the one being taken care of was too much to handle at the time, but eventually I got over it. Realized that maybe that wasn't too good for me."
"Yang I-" Her sentence was cut off as they both heard Weiss call out to them, Blake pulled her hand back and gave a smile. She stood from the table while the other sat, "I suppose that's my cue to head off then, I have to talk to Coco before her performance."
She bowed slightly before she turned, walking past Yang, she stopped briefly, putting a hand on her shoulder, speaking quietly. "Thank you, for telling me. I do hope that I get to see you again soon." With a shared smile she walked off, and Yang silently turned back to Weiss, a small blush adorning her face.
"What was that about?"
