Chapter Text
It was bright.
Stanley opened his eyes slowly, feeling the warmth of the sun rays.
He stared at the clouds, he felt like crying at the blue of the sky, he stroked the grass between his fingers. He made it out.
He knew it because, when he was allowed to walk out after turning the mind control off, the sun never felt this warm, the clouds were static and there was no wind, it was a fake reality made only for an spectator to awe upon.
The thought was quickly swept away by another, and Stanley felt dizzy with how fast he whipped his head around, eyes searching for him.
A couple feet away, fortunately in the shadow of a large tree, there he was.
Stanley's wide eyes watched him for a moment, he looked different under natural light, not the pure blinding white he associated with The Parable, it was almost majestic to him watch him like this, and he would've stared longer if it wasn't because he noticed him perk up a little, probably coming back to consciousness.
He had never stood up so fast before, his hands immediately latching to the brown jacket Narrator wore, tugging him to sit up while he blinked his eyes open.
"Stanley?" The Narrator asked, of course that was the first thing that he registered, it made Stanley want to sob, there were tears already threatening to slip away from his lashes "Stanley, we're free." He nodded, smiling tenderly at how the Narrator marveled at the world around him, focus shifting to Stanley when he felt a hand running through his hair.
They didn't make it another second before their lips clashed together, fingers intertwined on Narrator's lap while Stanley's left hand pulled them even closer, it was desperate, but soft, sweet. A moment they had been waiting for since they first realized the nature of their relationship. Stanley's tears rolled down his face making their kiss taste like salt, neither cared for it though, nothing could've ruined this moment for them.
They were free, and they were together to experience it.
