Chapter Text

“GRYFFINDOR!” The hat decided for Hermione, and Ron groaned.

“Well, at least it’s the Hargreeves next,” said Ron. “I’ve been dying to know what house they’ll end up in.”

Harry was quite curious as well. He stood on his tiptoes to get a better view as McGonagall called “Hargreeves, Allison” and a girl with dark skin and long, loose, curly brown hair walked to the hat, smiling nervously as she sat down. McGonagall placed the hat on her head, and it didn’t even have time to properly settle into place before the hat declared “SLYTHERIN!”

Allison looked pleasantly surprised as she made her way to the green and silver-clad table.

“Huh, wouldn’t have expected that.” Ron whispered as the Slytherins clapped.

“Me neither.” replied Harry, as McGonagall moved onto the second of the children, “Hargreeves, Benjamin.”

A short Asian kid walked up to the stool and sat down. The hat took a bit to decide before settling on “RAVENCLAW!”

“Hargreeves, Diego!”

The hat barely took any time to think before deciding on Gryffindor.

“Hargreeves, Klaus!”

The boy Harry had seen earlier who waved at the ghosts walked up to the stool, hands nervously flapping.

“HUFFLEPUFF!” the hat yelled.

“Hargreeves, Luther!”

The tall blonde boy was sorted into Gryffindor, after a bit of deliberation.

“Last one.” Ron whispered to Harry as McGonagall peered at the next name. She seemed confused.

“Hargreeves, Number Five?” she called uncertainly.
“That’s me.” the black haired boy from earlier said confidently. Once McGonagall placed the hat on his head, it didn’t take very long to sort him into Slytherin. Harry wasn’t surprised.

“Moving on now, I guess.” said Ron.

But there was one more. McGonagall returned to her list, squinting at the next name.
“Hargreeves, Victor!”

A short, thin boy stumbled out from the group. He inhaled deeply as the hat was placed on his head. “Hufflepuff!” the hat called. The yellow and black-clad table cheered. Harry could see out of the corner of his eye that Number Five was clapping as well.
