Chapter Text
Rhysand POV
They winnowed into the throne room coming across a sight that they definitely did not expect. There were people on the floor, unconscious it seemed, most were covered in blood. Their groans of pain filling the room, and in the middle of all this chaos stood the two strange fae, the female grinning like a cat, while the male glared at everyone around them. He was furious, how they even managed to get out of ash wood restraints baffled him.
Rhys how did they even get out and kill all these people? Feyre whispered through the bond. I have no idea, but clearly they need something stronger to restrain them or someone for that matter.
Rhysand walked forward, careful not to step on any of the groaning bodies, he noticed that the male was not standing in front of the female, despite her adamant protests.
"Now Buzzard, you don't need to protect me, I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. I did fight off all of these people" the blonde women whined. Honestly Rhys was kind of shocked that this female, fae or not, managed to subdue all of these men. There were probably 30 or so around them and she looked uninjured. Setting that thought aside he needed to recapture these fae before they caused anymore damage.
Deciding that casting the room into darkness might be his best chance at stopping them. Especially cause he wants sure of their abilities, both in magic and physically. He whispered to Feyre through the bond, making sure to tell her of his whole plan.
You should summon Cassian back, he might be able to help. He'd thought about that but he didn't want to further provoke these strangers and risk getting Feyre or Cassian injured. Rhys proceeded to tell Feyre this, her heart always warmed at how protective her mate was. Once they came.to an agreement on how the plan would go, he submerged everything around them in darkness.
He was not expecting the reaction that happened, he expected a fight, aggression. Anything but the pricing scream that carried through the room, it carried pain, a pain that had depth. Making his way towards them he realized that the female was the one screaming, finally she stopped and as he approached the male got into a fighting stance. Though he seemed to be extremely worried about the now hyperventilating women behind him.
"Get rid of the darkness now" the male growled, flashing his canines. He was unsure of what to do, not prepared for this reaction. But finally, he let the light come back. The female took in a deep breath, her eyes clearing slightly. She looked to be in shock or in some sort of flashback, her eyes had been glazed over but now she stood as if nothing had happened. Her breathing becoming even as she faced him.
"You" it was one word, but the power, and anger it held shuck him. Feyre I was not expecting this reaction from the girl, you may want to get out of here, he pleaded with her.
Rhys I'm not leaving you okay, we're in this together. I don't think they've seen me yet, I'll try and knock them out
He loved his mate more then words could describe, he truly did not deserve this amazing women. Cause even in the face of danger she stayed by his side.
"I would like to know how you managed to get out of your shackles, and how this many of my men are now dead or unconscious." He looked that them, trying to keep his composure. "Those silly little wooden chains were nothing, and as for your men they were quite easy to get passed. Men like those always underestimate a women" she purred, any sign of her earlier freak out completely gone.
She started to approach him, going in front of the male. Rhys wasn't sure of her motives, whether she was going to fight him or he wasn't sure there was another option then that. But before she could take a swing at him, her feet froze to the ground, along with the males. Thanks to his lovely mate. He moved quickly knocking them out before, either could fight back or use their magic.
"Now that was impressive love" he said going in for a passionate kiss. "Where should we keep them, cause clearly Hewn City isn't strong enough?" She pondered for a second, "How about taking them to The House of Wind? We have Cassian and Azriel guard them" she suggested.
"Honestly I think that's the best shot we have, let's get them their before they wake" he winnowed them all to the dungeon. Going to tie them both up in both iron shackles and the ash wood. He wasn't sure how they managed to escape in the first place, but at this point extra protection was always good. Satisfying with his work he and Feyre winnowed back to the house, summoning Cassian and Azriel along the way.
"What's up Rhysie?" Cassian said.
"You know those two strange fae that we found, well they managed to escape in Hewn City and the female killed about 30 people, alone it seems." he said "and I need you to keep an eye on them, gather intel. I wanna know every move they make."
Both of them looked worried, Azriel's shadows crept closer to him. Signifying his distress at the news. They both went down immediately to keep an eye on the two strangers.
"Love this is all a mess, I thought we were over all the strange things and just mess of all of it" Rhysand said, he was becoming irritated with just the mere disruption of their calm lives. They'd been living in domestic bliss for a couple months now, returning to normal. But not these two strange fae show and he just hoped that they'd start talking soon.
"I know, I hope that this is all over soon and we get some answer" she came up to him, wrapping her arms around his waste. Sensing his stress, she leaned up and kissed him gently. Just a brush of the lips, he intensified it. "How about we continue what we started early Feyre darling?" He purred, "I think that is the most brilliant idea you've ever had." He went to undress her, working his way down to were she needed him most.
Suddenly though Cassian came in, "Guys you need to come now, they've woken up and the female is freaking out bad." Feyre dresses reluctantly, both of them rather upset that they were interrupted again.
He was not expecting the sight he came across when they entered the room. The female was gasping, clawing at the iron chains trying to pry them off, the male tried to get to her. He made the decision to keep them on separate walls not wanting there to be any chance they escape.
"Get me out of these chains now, both of us. I need to help her." The male sounded desperate, though the tone to his voice was violent, it promised death if he didn't release them now.
Rhysand wasn't sure he wanted to risk it, but the female was starting to draw blood digging into her leg hard. "If you do anything but help her, I will end you without a second thought, understood?" He wasn't sure if he was making the right choice, but the male nodded. Rhys broke the chains, and the male rushed towards the blonde. She slumped back against the wall, she looked defeated, yet Rhysand knew she could destroy him. As she calmed, a killing calm filled the room.
She stood, fury in both their eyes, blood was dribbling down her legs were shed clawed herself. "Don't even think about making a move towards anyone in this room, I will replace those chains without a second though" he said, his voice clear and calm, espite his internal worry.
"If everyone can act like civilized adults, then I would like to know who the fuck you are and how your on my land" he said.
