Her arms are folded over her chest for the three-block walk. Jacket zipper pulled all the way to her chin. There’s nothing suspicious about this. She repeats to herself, though, it might even be less suspicious if she just held the aluminum cleaner she was hiding. And if anyone asked she would blame it on Joel. Because Joel sounds like the kind of guy that would need aluminum cleaner.
Certainly not her.
When she reaches her house, she’s relieved to be inside. Presses her back against the front door, locks it, and take a big breath in. She places the bottle of aluminum cleaner on the kitchen counter, watching the blue liquid inside swishing around the edges. She reads the label all the way around, especially the part in bold letters that says CORROSIVE LIQUID Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
