Chapter Text
Pamela and Lex finally return to their home after Duke gives them a ride home. Lex thanked him. Pamela hobbles to her living room and sits on the recliner. She sighs, turns to Lex, and calls her.
''Hey! Get me some beer from the ice box.''
She just got discharged from the hospital but will return to drinking as if nothing had happened. She's lucky that there was no alcohol poisoning involved. Of course, Lex isn't surprised at all. She's not expecting any change, either. Lex half to do what her mom says rather than telling her to stop because if she doesn't, Pamela will be shouting at her again. It's the story of her life.
Lex walks to their small, adjoined kitchen. From the ice box, she takes out a six-pack of beer. She hands it to Pamela and heads straight to her bedroom.
She sees Hannah. Lex's face lights up, but Hannah doesn't seem to notice Lex. She's facing the wall like she's looking and talking to somebody.
''Banana, are you ok?''
Hannah flinches. She turns to Lex.
''Lexi,'' She walks toward Lex and gives her an embrace. ''I'm so happy you're back!''
''What happened?''
''I had a bad day.'' Hannah's face pouts ''Something bad will happen...''
''Ok, who said that? Is it Ethan?'' she said, squinting her eyes.
Hannah shakes her head.
''Webby...''
''Banana, don't believe whatever Webby says.'' she puts both her hands on Hannah's shoulders ''She's lying.''
Lex gets her backpack from their small cabinet.
''I'm going to work, ok? Frank will probably scold me.''
Hannah didn't reply. She's upset. Lex just got home. Why is she going to work at a time like this?
''Hey, banana. I'm sorry. I really need to return to work so Frank won't get mad at me.''
Hannah still didn't reply.
''I'll make up to you, ok? Do wanna go to Pizza Pete's or watch a movie at Ethan's? I'll hang out with you tomorrow.''
''Promise?''
''I promise!''
Hannah smiles a little. She watches Lex to exits the room. As she finally left, Hannah's face was perturbed.
''Webby, I need to talk to you.''
Nothing happened for a moment then the lights from Hannah's room started flickering. Hannah starts to feel a familiar presence and energy. She stands up and waits until something glows behind her. Behind her, she saw a woman with long, beautiful white hair. Webby smiles at the girl.
''Hello, Hannah!'' she walks toward Hannah.
''Do you want to talk?''
''Webby, I keep seeing things.'' she looks at webby with fear in her eyes. ''I'm scared...''
''I know. I'm trying to sort things out for you. I'm doing my best, Hannah.''
Hannah sits on her bed. Webby sits beside her, brushing her hair.
''I tried telling Lex, but she doesn't believe me. Ethan too,'' she informs.
''Have you tried telling Pamela?'' Webby asked.
''Webby, you know momma won't believe me. She thinks I'm crazy...''
''Hannah, I want you to stay away from other people for now.'' she holds the girl's hands. ''Until I figure things out, ok?''
''Uh huh.''
Webby suddenly disappears.
''Webby!?''
SLAM. Pamela, who is obviously drunk, comes bursting into Hannah's room. She struggles to stand up straight.
''Nanners,'' she squinted and pointed at her. ''who...T-the fuck... are talkin' to?'' she slurred.
At first, Hannah didn't understand a word she said.
''W-what?'' she stares at her mom, looking worried, scared, and a bit confused. ''I don't know what you're talking about.''
''I heard you talking-'' She said, raising her brows while looking around.
''I'm only playing...''
She chuckles scornfully. ''Tsk. Then, you better pipe it down!'' Pamela turns to the doorway to leave, but before she exits, she stops. ''Freak,'' she said, shutting the door behind Hannah.
Hannah tries to hold her tears. She pulls out the blanket and puts it over her head. There is nothing she can do except hope for the best for now.
