Total Drama Island: Cody's Back

Chapter 16: Hide and Be Sneaky

Chapter Text

Noah gave Lindsay his Grapetastic Pop from his reward basket.

Lindsay: "I am so glad they included Grapetastic Pop in your reward last night, Noah. It's totally my favorite, and it's the only thing I've really been craving on the island."

Heather: "I cannot believe that Leshawna shredded my clothes. She is so gonna pay for this."

Lindsay was about to say something, but Cody quickly put a finger on his lips, signaling her to stay quiet.

Lindsay nodded and continued drinking her Grapetastic Pop.

Heather kept rambling until she left, and Lindsay followed her.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Cody stepped back into his cabin and saw Trent was still in bed.

He sighed, knowing that Trent hadn't taken Gwen's elimination well.

He sat down on the edge of the bed, hoping to offer some comfort or at least a distraction from the disappointment.

Cody: "Hey, Trent. . . want to talk about it?"

Trent remained silent for a moment, staring up at the ceiling.

Finally, he turned his head slightly towards Cody and shrugged, his voice barely above a whisper.

Trent: "I don't know, man. It just feels weird without her here. . . I-I. . . really miss her."

Cody nodded understandingly, placing his hand on Trent's shoulder.

Cody thought for a moment.

Cody: "How about we take a walk outside? Fresh air might help clear your mind."

Trent: "Yeah. . . maybe you're right. A walk could be good."

He slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes.

Trent: "I guess it might be nice to get out of this cabin for a bit and just talk."

Cody smiled.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Chris: "Today's challenge is a good old-fashioned game of hide-and-seek. You all get ten minutes to hide before Chef Hatchet comes looking for you. With his military background and an advanced degree in man-hunting, he's uniquely qualified to make this game excruciatingly hard."

Chef pumped up the water gun.

Cody: "What's with the water gun?"

Chris: "The lifeguard chair is home base. When he finds you, Chef will try to spray you. If you escape his blast, you can try to run to home base. But if he catches you on your way, he'll douse you."

Noah: "Oh, so we're gonna get splashed by a bit of water. Now I'm really terrified."

Chris: "Why don't you demonstrate, Chef?"

Chef pumped up the water gun.

And spray Chris instead.

Chris: "Not on me, dude!"

Heather: "So, how do we win this game?"

Chris: "You've got three options. One, don't get discovered in your hiding place. Two, run to home base before Chef blasts you. Three, once you've been caught, help Chef find other campers. Do any of those, and you win invincibility. All clear?"

Lindsay: "Uuuh. . ."

Chris: "You get ten minutes to hide. Go!"

Everybody ran.

Lindsay stood there for a moment and then ran to hide.

Lindsay: "Aahhhh!"

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Lindsay hid under the covers of the bed.

Chris: "Uuh, Lindsay. Couldn't you do any better than hiding under your covers?"

Lindsay: "Fooled you! This isn't even my bunk."

Chris: "Oh, Chef Hatchet!"

Chef slams the door open.

Lindsay: "Aahhhh!"

Lindsay ran off.

Now Lindsay hid in the restroom stall.

Chris: "Knock, knock."

Lindsay: "Who's there?"

Chris: "The entire viewing world."

Lindsay: "The entire viewing world, who?"

Chris: "You're gonna have to do a lot better than that if you want to avoid capture."

Lindsay ran off.

Lindsay: "Ahh!"

Chris: "My guess? She's a goner."

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Lindsay finally found a good hiding spot. The cave.

She entered the cave before she was immediately grabbed.

Lindsay: "Ahh-"

Courtney: "Sshhh. Don't be so loud. Chef will hear us."

Lindsay nodded.

In the meantime, Leshawna hides underwater near the dock. Noah and Cody got the same idea and did the same.

Trent camouflaged in the grass. DJ was on the roof of the main lodge.

Heather hid in Chef's kitchen. Geoff was atop a tree, and Bridgette hid behind a rock near the elimination campfire pit.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

After a couple of minutes, Chef finally caught someone.

Bridgette.

Chef was about to spray, but then. . .

Bridgette screams.

She was sprayed by a couple of skunks.

Bridgette saw Chef.

Chef: "Technically, I don't have to spray you, but. . ."

Bridgette: "Please! Spray me!"

Chef pumped up the water gun.

And spray Bridgette.

She was happy for a moment, but realized that she still smelled like skunks.

Chef found Trent, DJ, and Geoff minutes later.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Trent: "I wonder where Courtney and Lindsay are hiding."

Bridgette: "I know. They must be really good at hiding."

Trent: "Yeah. . . I just want this to be over already."

Bridgette: "Same. . . I really need a shower."

Trent covered his nose.

Trent: "What happened?"

Bridgette: "Skunk."

Trent: "Oh. That must really suck."

Bridgette: "Yep. It was my lucky day."

Trent chuckles.

Bridgette: "Also. . . how are you feeling about Gwen being gone?"

Trent sighed.

Trent: "It's been tough without her around. . . but I'm doing okay. Cody has been a great friend."

Bridgette smiled.

Bridgette: "That's good to hear."

Courtney and Lindsay are found by Chef.

Courtney: "Ugh, I thought I had the perfect hiding spot!"

Lindsay: "Oh no! I broke another nail! This is the worst day ever!"

Courtney groaned in annoyance.

Confessional On.

Courtney: "I wouldn't have been found if it wasn't for blonde over there making so much noise about her nail! Seriously, priorities, people!"

Confessional Off.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Chef kept searching.

Meanwhile, Bridgette returned to the restroom when she saw Heather running towards home base.

Bridgette: "Heather is running towards home base!"

Heather heard this and sprinted faster.

Chef quickly turned his attention and chased Heather.

Chef caught her.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Heather was pissed.

Heather: I was so close. . . that surfer girl had to open her mouth and give me away.

Heather: "Thanks a lot, surfer girl."

Heather glared in her direction.

Trent: "Good job, Bridgette."

Trent and Bridgette exchanged joyful smiles and high-fived each other.

Bridgette: "Glad I could help."

Trent chuckled.

Heather walked away.

Heather: She'll pay for this. . . I need to find someone, or else I'm not getting invincibility.

Lindsay: "Heather, d-"

Heather glared at her.

Lindsay stayed quiet and returned back with the campers.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Geoff: "I guess that's everyone, then."

Courtney: "You're forgetting Leshawna, Noah, and Cody."

Chef: "I searched everywhere!"

Chef thought for a moment, and then it clicked.

Chef: "The water!"

In an instant, Chef ran to the home base.

Chef gasps.

Leshawna was sitting down in the lifeguard chair.

Leshawna: "What took you so long, sugar?"

Everyone cheered.

Chris: "All righty, campers. Game's over. Time to pick the loser and send them home."

DJ: "Wait. Where are Noah and Cody?"

Leshawna: "Hey, guys. You can come out now."

As soon as they heard Leshawna, they got out of the water.

Chris: "Well, well, well, looks like we have a couple of people who have won invincibility."

Leshawna, Noah, Cody, and Bridgette high-fived each other.

Chris: "Now, let's see who the unlucky camper going home tonight will be."

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Before the elimination ceremony started.

Lindsay: "Hey, Cody. Hey Nolan"

Cody: "Hey Lindsay.

Noah: "It's Noah."

Lindsay: "Oh, sorry, Noah."

Noah: "It's fine. Did you need something from us?"

Lindsay: "Oh yeah. Heather wants a meeting."

They all go somewhere private.

Heather: "Alright, listen up. Tonight, we vote off Geoff."

Cody: "Why Geoff?"

Heather: "He's a strong competitor and gets along with everybody."

Noah: "Really? Or are you just mad that Bridgette caught you, and now you're targeting Geoff out of spite?"

Heather glared at Noah, her eyes narrowing.

Heather: "This isn't about me; it's about strategy."

Noah crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.

Noah: "Funny how your 'strategy' always seems to involve getting rid of people who cross you, Heather."

Heather: "Watch it, Noah. You might be next if you keep running that mouth of yours."

Noah smirked, unfazed.

Noah: "Whatever. But okay, I'll vote for Geoff."

Cody and Lindsay: "Same."

Heather: "Good. Then it's settled."

Cody: "But Heather, we only have four votes, and there are six others. I doubt we can convince Courtney or DJ to vote for Geoff."

Heather smirked.

Heather: "Leave that to me. I've got a plan."

Noah: "And what if your plan fails?"

Heather: "It won't. Trust me."

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Chris: "There are only two marshmallows left on this plate. You each racked up a lot of votes. One of you is going home tonight. And cannot return. Ever. The next marshmallow goes to. . . Lindsay.

Lindsay sighed in relief.

Chris: "The final marshmallow of the night goes to. . . . Heather."

Heather smiled.

Some campers gasp.

Chris: "Okay, that was a shocker. Even I'm shocked and I knew the answer."

Bridgette: "B-but that's impossible!"

Trent: "No way, dude! This has to be rigged!"

Courtney: "No way Geoff got more votes than Heather."

Leshawna: "Something fishy's going on here."

Some campers nodded.

Heather: "Oh, come on, guys. Maybe I'm just more popular than you think."

She smirked, her eyes sparkling with joy.

Heather walked away laughing.

Some of the campers were glaring at her.

Confessional On.

Heather: "Who knew breaking into the voting box would be so easy? I should have done this earlier."

She chuckled.

Heather: "Sabotaging people is. . . really fun."

She smiled wickedly at the camera, clearly proud.

Heather: "You should have kept your mouth shut, surfer girl."

Heather smiled.

Confessional Off.

Bridgette: "Geoff, I'm gonna miss you."

Geoff: "Me too. So. . . you didn't vote me off?"

Bridgette: "I would never!"

Geoff: "Really?"

Geoff smiled.

Bridgette: I need to tell him. . .

Bridgette: "Geoff, I need to tell you something important. . . I-I love you."

Some campers gasp.

Geoff's eyes widened in surprise.

Geoff: "I love you, too."

Bridgette smiled.

Geoff kissed her.

He didn't care if she smelled like a skunk.

Bridgette kissed him back.

Geoff: "Bye."

Bridgette smiled, slightly blushing.

Bridgette: "Bye."

As Geoff walked away, Bridgette watched him with teary eyes, knowing that this would be the last time she would see him.

.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .

Cody and Noah were at their spot.

Cody: "I can't believe Geoff got voted out. To be honest, I didn't think he would be out. I wonder. . . who else voted for Geoff. Wait. Y-you don't think Heather did it again?"

Noah: "Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised."

Cody: "Yea-"

Cody turned around.

Noah: "What is it?"

Cody: "I heard a bell. I think Candy is nearby."

Candy popped out of nowhere next to Noah, causing him to jump in fright.

Cody: "Hey, Candy."

Candy walked towards Cody and lay down on Cody's lap.

Cody gently petted her head.

Cody: "Is this about my points or?"

Candy: "It is."

Candy got up and walked away.

Candy: "You had 700 points, but you've now earned an additional 500 points, bringing your total to 1,200 points. Next time, you'll get to pick a new skill."

After delivering the message, Candy gave Cody a quick nod and disappeared as suddenly as she had appeared.

Cody couldn't believe his ears and felt a rush of excitement.

Cody: "Did you hear that, Noah? I'm up to 1,200 points! I can't wait to see what new skill I get to choose next time."

Notes:

2024: I don't know how many times I have gone back and forth editing and adding new stuff in the chapters.

I realized Cody's character is completely different from the Cody that I am writing about. So, if you don't like the out-of-character plot or whatever it is called. Maybe this isn't for you.

Rereading these chapters is making me kinda cringe. But at the same time, I love how I wrote it. (sorry if's cringe in some parts)
