Chapter Text

The wedding is breathtaking. The path illuminated with torches Chad unites their crowns with a thin golden ribbon. They kiss and depart by Chariot. Just like that his little sister is united with the love of her life.

The party ends and the world feels quiet and cold. Morgan sits at the edge of the pier, his legs swing below him. “This seems familiar.” he mutters to himself.

Alex sits down next to him. “That was cute.”

He watched the sun set over the large distant mountains. “Yeah, I’m happy for them.” He looks over at the God of Spring. “Why did you play along with being my date?”

Alex shrugs, laying on his back. “Ohio has only ever said good things about you.” They hold up their hand to count the reasons. “It was nice not just being seen as the God of Spring, just some frilly flowery happy go lucky God. You are one of the few not afraid of my mother or me.”

He smirks. “You make it sound like you are a dangerous villain. Granted I did see you destroy Helios without even getting a drop of blood on your outfit.”

The God of Spring presents a toothy grin. “You called it a work of art.”

He blushes, turning his attention to them. “I did?!?!?”

They nod happily. “I enjoyed the praise.”

Morgan flops down next to them. He mutters under his breath as his eyes widen in surprise. “Oh. The stars are out.”

He gestures towards the sky seeing the array of constellations and starts dancing above them.

Alex looks over at the God. “It has been overcast lately.” His face lights up and the pure excitement melts Alex's heart.

“That one's Orion's belt.” He points up.

Alex looks towards them amusingly. “God of the Underworld really likes stars?”

Morgan bashfully nods. “I have always been amazed at the constellations. When I was once a potential for the King of Gods I would have been the God of the sky. I take my jobs very seriously.”

The words slip out of them. “But it was broken promises? You became the God of the Dead.”

Morgan nods again. “What's done is done.” He sighs. “I think it's time I work on moving past that. I'll have to soon return underground”

He pulls his vision away from the sky to focus on Alex, They are inches away from each other. Just a moment away. “I am glad to have met you, Maybe we can cross paths again, If the fates allow up.” His smile drops, Alex could swear his usual poker face has a slight pout.

“What do you do down there?”

“Rule the Dead.” He nervously laughs. “It was pretty disorganized and barren when I started but it's improved. Well now my biggest problem is to come up with a way to punish those who cheat death?” He rolls his eyes and throws his arms in frustration.

Alex sits up staring down at him. “Oh! You can have him roll a large boulder up a steep hill.” They eagerly continue. “By the time he needs to rest it will roll down.” They fidget excitedly and grin full of evil. “ They will be physically exhausted as they descend into madness!”

Morgan watches as the stars dance around Alex, They truly are beautiful. “I was just going to trap him in a maze. But That's so much better.”

Alex blushes. “You don't have to, you really don't have to.”

Morgan sits up grasping their hands. “Your mind really is amazing.” He looks way lost in thought. “I wish I could take you back with me. I could really use a mind like yours in my line of work.”

Alex can feel the flowers around them bloom in the middle of the night. “Take me with you.”

Morgan tilts his head in confusion. “I can't just kidnap you.”

Alex smiles “Yes you can! Come on, I'll grab my stuff!” They stand leaning down towards him.

Morgan snickers. “You can't be serious.”

They reach a hand towards the God of the Dead. “I am! Let's go!”

Morgan gently takes Ales hand.
