Beomgyu jerked forward on his chair, taking his surroundings in his conductor’s cab with a blank face. The rain was fierce, and the firebox was as warm as before he drifted. It’s the same thing he sees every day. The levers, buttons, a coal shovel, and his rope for the whistle. The same whistle that interrupted the relaxed state of bliss he was in moments ago. With a displeased sigh, he pulled out his watch to see how much time had passed, and only 20 minutes had passed.
Good, he has an hour to prepare and check things before the train starts to move, he thought.
